Hey guys, I'm new to the whole scene here and this is going to be my first story ever so please give me feedback, and be honest! If I like writing as much as I think I will, and if I get good feedback I may make this into a series in my spare time. Oh and for all you looking for some more erotic stuff I'm sure that if I make this a series Cy will encounter much more exotic exploits but for this time I just wanted everyone to get a feel for the character. Hope you enjoy it!

==================

The obnoxious, repetitive beeping that awoke Cy from his deep sleep let him know that the first week of his senior year of college had officially begun. Fighting the impulse to pound on the snooze button, he dragged himself out of bed and into the shower. Unlike many of the other cats he knew, Cy had always enjoyed water.

After a fast, "wash and go", he put on a pair of jeans and an undershirt before getting ready. Cy was nothing to special, a cat anthro, he stood at roughly 5' 11 and had an all black coat of medium length that refused to stay put. Playing sports his whole life he had a fairly athletic body, somewhat built but without the definition of those models you see on T.V. There were only two things that stood out about Cy, his longer, and shapelier ears, and the gray scars cutting straight over his right eye. Cy's real name was Carter Leer, Cy was a mean, yet appropriate name that derived from the month he had spent with his eye covered after he had received his scar. As he tried desperately with no avail to fix his hair he lightly brushed over his the marks remembering Sophomore year.

His second year at Vernon College had began and he couldn't be happier. Stepping out of his room in a pair of ripped jeans and a blue and white striped polo, he jogged lightly to the common room of his dorm to meet Jessica, his girlfriend since the start of the previous semester.

As he jogged down the hall a door opened up and he ran into a cute fox with dull orange and white fur and an ear piercing.

"Watch it Carter!" she yelped, as he caught her before she hit the ground. "Let me guess, off to see Jessica? aaaannnddd you're late...as usual..."

Cy tapped his nose. He reached out ruffled her hair and took off down the hall again yelling "I'll catch you a little later Kira!" over his shoulder while she tried without success to mat down the hair he had messed up.

Jessica was a cat like himself, though her coat consisted mainly of white with a few black stripes along her arms, legs, tail, and face. As Cy came jogging into the room she gave him a look he knew all to well.

"Why can't you ever be on time Carter?"

"Sorry cutie," said Cy. "bed was to nice, even without you there." He let out a wide grin showing his pointed teeth.

Jessica let out a sharp exhale and began walking outside. Cy jogged a little more to catch up with her and put his arm around her shoulder.

"What classes you have today?" asked Cy

"Math and Marketing." relied Jessica in a sharp tone.

Cy took his arm off her shoulder and grabbed her arm turning her to face him. He took both her paws in his and looked into her eyes.

"What's wrong?" he said "You've never been this upset about me being late before."

"Carter it's through." She replied in a voice that sounded not sad, but annoyed.

"You aren't right for me and over the summer I met someone who is."

Jessica gave a small smirk, "Oops" she said.

As Cy's eyes slowly misted over all he could do was make a strange sound halfway between a nervous laugh and the word no. As Jessica turned and walked away she didn't care to pay attention to the jingle of a ring bouncing on the cement. A ring that only moments before Carter had held hidden in his paw. A ring he thought he would give to the only girl in the world for him.

Cy didn't know how long he had stood there for. He had no idea how long he waited for Jessica to say it was a joke, for her to come back and say she didn't mean it. He had no idea who reached out from behind him and put a paw on his shoulder as he spun and buried his face in their neck and cried. Cy had never truly cried since he was a baby but he had lost all touch with himself and could only stand there in his pathetic state and cry onto a random strangers shoulder.

"Cy, what happened?" asked Kira in a voice of pure worry. "What the hell is the matt..." she broke off as her gaze shifted to a tiny glimmer on the concrete. "Oh Cy," she whispered, "what the hell did she do to you?"

Kira's eyes began to tear, but she wiped them away quickly, she had to be strong for him now, as he had always been for her in the past. Cy let out a heart wrenching wail followed by a few short gasps as Kira guided him back inside and into his room. Cy dropped into a chair and continued to cry, his screams only broken by short gasps and pathetic mews. Kira took his shirt off and told him to get into his bed. As he laid down she pulled the covers up over his shoulders and sat next to him. She began rubbing his stomach and he turned on his side facing away from her. She sat staring at her childhood friend, helpless, and her heart felt as though it was being ripped in half as she knew there was nothing she could do for him. The alarm on her wristwatch went off shortly after Cy had slipped out of his fit and into a troubled sleep. Kira planted a soft kiss on the cats cheek and stepped out of his room and toward her classes.

Kira and Cy had been friends since he was a shy kitten and her a energetic pup. They had gone to school together their whole lives and were as close as a brother and sister. In middle school Kira was often made fun of by the popular students of the grade. It was only with Cy's help and vigilant defense that she made it through the days of school without hating her life. Kira couldn't keep track of how many times Cy had come from nowhere right when she needed him, her hero, her superman. Whether it was a shoulder to cry on, arms to shield her, or claws to fight for her, Cy had it, and she was never alone. So it was that when Kira finally left her classes, she hurried to grab food for Cy and ran as fast as she could to his side.

As she entered his room she could just make out his shape in the dark, shifting slowly as he breathed deeply in his slumber. She placed the food on his dresser and slowly rubbed his head. He let out a soft purr in his sleep as she gently scratched his ears before she got up and left. This routine continued for over two weeks as Cy barely ever made it to class. Every day Kira came to look after him whether he was asleep or awake and every day she listened with a wounded heart as he recalled everything about Jessica.

It was three weeks later that Kira exited her night class and went to Cy's room to find his bed empty. When she asked his suite mates where he had gone they shrugged and said they had no idea, he had just stormed out.

Two hours later as Kira continued her search for him she was nothing short of hysterical, having no idea what he could be doing to himself.

Cy wasn't sure how long he had been at the bar. After weeks of depression he had set out a few hours ago to drown himself in alcohol, and he was succeeding. As the bell hanging over the door jingled he payed no attention to the person that entered until he felt the arms around his neck and the tears in his fur.

"For god's sakes Cy!" gasped Kira, "I was so scared!"

Cy took a sip of his beer and managed to slur "Wash havink a drink..."

"A DRINK!?" yelled Kira "Look at yourself!"

"Thersh nothing left for me Kira," said Cy, "Thersh noone. I may ash well drink myself to death"

"She was just a girl," Kira yelled back at him, "There are so many.... and you can... you can have your pick of any of them Cy... I mean.... she was just a girl!" Kira began to sob.

"There's noone," said Cy slipping back into his depression, "I could search all I wanted and I could nev.."

He stopped as Kira hit him. A full hit, claws and all, right over his eye. The three gashes began to bleed immediately.

"There's me!" she sobbed, "There's always been me Cy! For god's sakes open your eyes... I'M RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOU!" She grabbed him and pulled his mouth to hers. She kissed him with all the strength she had and then let go to run outside.

Cy sat, immediately sobered both by the hit, and the message it sent. He didn't even have the focus to blink the blood out of his eye, which was now bleeding freely. All he could do was sit there with a stupid gape. It was true, he was so stupid, he had Kira. He couldn't imagine the pain it must have caused her, loving him so much and watching him with Jessica, with everyone else! He stepped outside the bar and Kira jumped up from the bench she was crying on, her fur on end, and turned to run. She was scared of what she had said, she was scared of what she had done and what he might do to her. She began to sprint but only managed to take one step before Cy's strong arms wrapped around her from behind. She clenched her muscles bracing herself for his anger but eased when she felt him smile into her neck.

"You're right." he whispered half crying, "You were always so right, and I was so stupid."

In the month after the bar Cy earned his nickname, "Cyclopes." And though he had to stumble around half blind he never had to do it alone. He would never have to do anything alone because he had Kira, and she had him.
