"Spyro?" he heard his voice but didn't know who said it. Again more urgently he heard, "Spyro!" That was when his body decided to work right. He first noticed the feel of the grass beneath him, then some softer sounds and other things. What confused him most was the grass, last he knew he was at the nearly destroyed core of the planet. Then suddenly he felt something sharp jab him on his side. His eyes burst open because of the sudden rush of pain. He immediately turned to the pained side. When he saw Cynder he simply had to feel bad, she was cut and bruised, more then he was. She jabbed his side again, more friendly then the last time, forcing him to get up before she could jab him again.

"Did you have to jab me, Cynder?"

"What, did it hurt?" she said playfully

"Cynder, we need to find some crystals unless we want to keep bleeding out." He replied feeling a little nauseous from blood loss.

She simply grinned and he knew she was hiding something. Just then all her wounds glowed and then disappeared. She revealed an extra crystal from behind her, picking it up and giving it to Spyro who used it anxiously. Spyro then asked, "How did we get out of the core? Wasn't I unconscious?"

"I used my powers to create a thin wind tunnel to carry you while I flew and lost a lot of my energy doing it. Had we both used it one of us would still be at the core. What should we do now, I'm already bored of being at peace."

Spyro didn't like what he heard, but before he could say anything she corrected her mistake saying, "I mean there's nothing to do now except rebuild, which in reality, isn't really a dragon's strong point."

"What about the temple? It wasn't destroyed and I'm sure the guardians are there now or on their way. We could stay there until we figure out what to do."

There wasn't much land to cross because the floating up in the air, above where the volcano used to be. Now it was a mass of floating land, preserved by Spyro. They attempted to fly but were stopped by the sudden loss of any uplifting factors of flying. They were forced to stop and noticed that, to their surprise, the guardians were there trying to find a way to the temple. Spyro and Cynder casually walked over to the guardians. They were greeted by a endless wave of questions and praise. One question that hurt Spyro to think of was asked by Volteer, "Where is Ignitus?"

He told him the whole story after they had attempted to defeat the destroyer, when they had split up. They were silent for a moment, then they returned to the temple problem, talking more solemnly. Spyro asked Cynder to help him with something and whispered his idea to her. She looked doubtful but agreed to try it. They told the Guardians the idea as well: Cynder and Spyro would make a strong updraft with fire and wind while the guardians get across to the temple. Once there the guardians would tether the floating building to parts of the mainland. They could then tow the island to the mainland and lodge it there.

They agreed to try and went about with the plan. After about thirty minutes they had tether the island to the mainland and started towing it in. It took a lot of work from all of them until the temple crashed into the mainland, lodging itself there. They went in to explore the things left behind by Malefor, none of which had any value. They threw all the junk into a pit and burned it. They then went and got some mole workers to help them rebuild. After about a month the temple, not being damaged to badly, was restored to it's former glory. Spyro and Cynder both went and picked rooms, feeling pleased with their continuous success. Then Spyro suddenly asked, "Cynder, did you by chance say anything before I brought the world back together? I thought I heard something."

At this she blushed, though to her relief Spyro couldn't see it on her black scales. "Well Spyro I said uh...I said I was sorry."

"I already told you Cynder it wasn't your fault, no matter what other people think."

She wanted to tell him but couldn't say it to his face so she just said, "I just wanted to hear it from you again." She then silently scolded herself knowing what she said might give away that she was lying. To her relief Spyro then took that as an answer, although he looked confused.

"Okay, see you tomorrow Cynder." He walked off to his new room, which was actually the one he had before. Cynder wandered a little bit before going to sleep.

Spyro didn't know what to think. It appeared as if she might have been hiding something. He knew he loved her yet didn't know what to do and decided there was a time and a place for everything. He laid down on his bed, not knowing what tomorrow would bring.
