Threats and Promises
#6 of Evens and Dante's Adventure in Unova
I don't own Pokémon. This chapter will introduce to new teams. Team nightfall and Team sunrise, I would appreciate it if no one would take these names. And now the conclusion of the battle between our two hero's and the D-bag Ramon.
Threats and Promises
Blind I have gone blind, Zoroark probably clawed my eyes out and now I'm permanently blind. This thought ran through Evens head constantly, "you're not blind," he could hear Gothorita inside his head, "Zorua evolved you were staring directly at her during her evolution." The light dims and Evens sees two Zoroark locked together. The Zoroark standing with its back to him has long purple hair tied at the end by a gold bead. Both refused to budge, Ramon not expecting the current situation turned to Gigalith and Bisharp, "will you two help that worthless bitch I want to leave already." Both Pokémon nodded slowly walking toward the two Zoroark.
Gothorita is standing near Dante, "how are we going to win this one master?" Dante runs through various scenarios in his head, all end badly. Dante looks around for anything that could help the situation; he notices that Evens has barely moved since his Zorua evolved to protect him, "why is he just standing there?" Gothorita looks at the two Zoroark and Evens, "he doesn't realize that the Zoroark standing in front of him is his Zorua evolved." Dante looks at Evens face and sees the confusion, he yells out "Evens that is your Zorua it just evolved, give it an order or you both will die!" Evens looks closely at the Zoroark in front of him, "Zorua is that you?" Zoroark still struggling with her mother replies through gritted teeth "took you long enough, and just so you know she is still stronger than me so if you don't want to end up as mincemeat give me an order already!" Evens gives a faint smile, "yup that's you" looking at the two Pokémon interlocked he can see his Zoroark is slowly losing her footing but the other Zoroark has extended herself too far out. "Zoroark slip in between her legs and toss her by her hair." Zoroark looking down sees that her mother's stance is spaced to far apart, in a quick move Zoroark still locking hands drops down low to the ground off setting her mom, Zoroark slips through her legs letting go of her paws. On the way up Zoroark grabs hold of her mom's hair and throws her forward, "Dante have Gothorita aim for the bead in Zoroark's hair there is something wrong with it." Dante nods, "Gothorita use psybeam on that bead." Gothorita charges her attack and fires, just as it is about to hit the bead Bisharp steps in front and blocks the attack. Gigalith crashes through Zoroark's side sending her sprawling; standing in front of Evens Gigalith readies another charge when Golett throws a wild shadow punch distracting it. Gigalith turns its attention to Golett; Zoroark still dazed after the hit for Gigalith does not see Bisharp rushing her with metal claw. Gothorita hits Bisharp with psybeam refocusing Zoroark's attention. Evens mind is in a state of complete chaos as to many thing are happening for him to keep track of. Seeing Evens in disarray Dante runs toward him, "Evens snap out of it you have to keep it together." Shaking his head Evens looks back to the field were his Pokémon are trying to hold their own without any direction. "Zoroark, Golett in front of me now!" Evens shouted the order and had his Pokémon in front of him in seconds. "All right so its three on two," "no four on three," Dante standing next to Evens points to Gothorita and Galvantula, "don't think that I'm gonna sit this one out, and you need the help."
Nodding Evens sizes up Ramon's Pokémon. There is Bisharp's attack that has to be dealt, Gigalith's defense is too high, and then there is Zoroark who might as well be on fast forward. "Evens do you think that Zoroark's illusions might work?" Evens ponders this idea, "if Zoroark is relying solely on sight and sound then it might work for a few seconds." "And if she isn't?" Evens smirks, "I don't have to say how screwed we would be." Dante nods, "Gothorita you'll only have a few seconds, you have to hit the bead in Zoroark's hair." Gothorita nods preemptively charging a psybeam. No one moves as the Pokémon stare each other down, Ramon is now standing behind his Pokémon, "ha you actually think you can take on my Pokémon?" taking command he orders, "Gigalith use head-butt, Bisharp use metal claw, Zoroark use night slash!" Gigalith charges, Bisharp zigzags across the field, Zoroark fades forward. "Zoroark use feint attack on Bisharp, Golett use mega punch on Gigalith." Dante looks at his Pokémon, "guess we got Zoroark, Galvantula use electroweb to hold Zoroark down, Gothorita use psybeam on the bead." Galvantula shoots web at Zoroark who does not dodge, leaving the shot wide open. "Something's not right." Galvantula is tossed into the air at Gothorita, as Zoroark appears to fade in. Gigalith and Golett clash neither moving an inch; Zoroark fades past Bisharp's metal claw landing a strike to the back of the head. Bisharp goes down, "Zoroark help Golett." Zoroark's eyes glow and Golett multiplies, Golett uses another mega punch and Gigalith is down for the count. Meanwhile Gothorita and Galvantula have their appendages full trying to take on Zoroark. Ramon is clearly not pleased that his Pokémon are losing, "what utter failures for Pokémon my team is." He brings out Gigalith and Bisharp's Pokéball and drops them on the floor, he raises his foot to smash them when a man in black clothes with the symbol of a moon steps out and stops him, "that would not be a wise decision, we have underestimated these two we are withdrawing for now." Ramon clearly not pleased with being told what to do picks up the two Pokéballs and call Zoroark, "we are leaving cover our trail." Zoroark's eyes glow and they fade in to mist, "the next time we meet I be sure to kill your Pokémon nice and slow." With his last remark he vanishes.
At the Pokémon center Evens and Dante are slumping in the chair in the waiting room, "so Dante you said that you and Ramon used to live onthe same block, but what happened between you two?" "it was a territory meeting, our boss met with another boss over some streets that were on the boarder of our territories, the streets had stores that could bring in a lot of money if handled right." Evens nodds following the story, "so how did Ramon get involved?" "he was supposed to have drawn a kind of map of what we were giving them in exchange for what they were giving us. But when we got there he sold us out." Evens sat back, "so you made it obviously." Dante looked out the window, "only because my boss covered me with his body, the last thing he said to me was to make sure Ramon paid for what he did." Both of them sat back, "don't worry dante we'll see him again." "yeah i'm counting on it."
Nurse joy walks through a pair of door, "I'm sorry but your Pokémon's injuries are a little more serious and will take time to heal, if you could please wait in your rooms until we are finished that would greatly be appreciated." Dante looks into nurse joys eyes, "they'll be fine right?" nurse joy nod, "yes they will be, but you two also need to rest, so please go to your room and we will call you when we are finished."
Evens is lying down in the rental room looking up at the ceiling, he turns onto his side and feels a small object. He sits up and finds his Pokéball, "oh so this is where you've been." He holds it out and Oshawott emerges, Evens lays back down and Oshawott curls up underneath his arm as he slowly drifts off to sleep.
Warm really warm, Evens feels a pressure on his chest. He opens his eyes and sees black; it must be night if it's this dark, he feels something furry cuddle closer to him, fur? He tries to sit up but realizes that he has an arm holding his upper chest. He looks down and sees Zoroark sleeping soundly, she stirs a little a grips him tighter. Slowly attempts to remove her arm but when she feel this she wakes up, "please don't leave me." Evens feels a pin stab his chest, "I'm not going anywhere." Zoroark grabs a pillow and cuddles with it.
Evens leaves the room and heads next door to Dante's room, when he opens the door he can hear the bed squeaking and hear Dante's voice, "you like that girl," Evens hears a female voice, "oh god yes you're so big, yeah right there that's the spot," Still in the door way Evens reaches in and grabs the 'Do Not Disturb' sign and places it on the handle. "It's best not to disturb them."
Evens walks down the hall, on his right he sees an outdoor garden and an African woman sitting down with a Watchog playing with small children. Evens goes outside and stands next to the woman, she smiles and looks up at him, "I saw what you did yesterday." Evens looking out to the kids playing, "the Zoroark is my Zorua's mom and the trainer," "belongs to team nightfall." Evens look at her confused, "how do you know that?" "The symbol on the man chest said it all." Remembering the moon on the man's chest, "so how do you know them," "they frequently visit the forest near here and capture all of the dark and ghost type Pokémon." "And no one tries to stop them why?" "They don't bother anyone and their methods are actually quite clam, no nets or rope or traps, just trainers catching Pokémon." "Yet they belong to this team nightfall." "So far they haven't hurt anyone." Evens sits down on the bench, the woman call her Pokémon back, "I'll be waiting for your challenge tomorrow." The woman leaves, Evens is still sitting on the bench when he feels a pair of paws touch his shoulder. He turns around and sees Zoroark standing behind him, "master can I sit next to you?" Evens scoots over, "what's on your mind?" looking down at her paws Zoroark replies, "well it just that when I finally found my mom she ends up being brainwashed." Evens grabs hold paw and holds it to his chest, "Zoroark I promise that I will bring your mom back, I can't promise to deal with Ramon cause that's a job Dante wants." Zoroark giggles at the last part, "so don't worry I will take care of you ok?" Zoroark nods and hugs Evens, out of the corner of his eye he sees Dante standing there, Dante smirks and walks away. Zoroark breaks away from the hug and look down at her feet, "I guess you're really happy that I evolved?" "Well I'm happy that you saved me but if it wasn't for that situation I would not have cared whether or not you ever evolved." Evens stands up and offers his hand to her, "You know ever since we've been traveling with Dante we have yet to battle him." Grabbing his hand and standing up Zoroark tilts her head in a confused manner, "what does that have to do with anything?" walking toward the field be the garden, "well I have no idea how much stronger you are and you probably haven't gotten used to your new body yet so a battle is a good idea to help test your limits."
Standing on opposite ends of the field Dante and Evens square off, "this is just a friendly match got it?" Dante laugh, "I've wanted to battle you since I met you, this is going to be a fun match." Gothorita stands in front of Dante, Zoroark stands in front of Evens, "a simple one on one sound good?" "Yeah." Evens takes out his Pokédex and check Zoroark's moves, the same as before but with the addition of night slash, I should save that move for later. With both trainers ready they start the match. "Gothorita use psyshock!" "Zoroark use feint attack!"
*And that is the end of this chapter. The next will have the conclusion of this battle and a full gym battle, so look forward to it. As for Ramon and team nightfall they will figure out that at the end of every night the sun must rise. *
