Silver woke up suddenly; he could hear screams emanating from nearby. It dawned him as the direction of the screams seemed to be coming from a very familiar area. Terror struck him like a mallet,

"Oh no the-"

but before he could finish his own sentence he threw on his clothes and flew out his bedroom window. His worst fears realised as the exact location of the screams became apparent...The Shrine of the Elemental Crystal.

Silver is a 15 year old dragon, he is 5ft 4 and has a fairly well sculpted body. He has a scruffy head of black hair encircling his horns and eyes that are beautiful shade of gold. He also has a jagged skin pattern running down his neck and ending at the tip of his tail that was dark blue. That day he was wearing some jeans and a black shirt with three golden triangles in the centre.

He is a fairly ordinary dragon except for his glittery silver scales. When he hatched his mother and all the other dragons were shocked to hear of his rare silver colour-no dragon on record had ever been born with this, as a result throughout his life people have treated him differently- like a stranger.

Silver was flying as fast as his wings would let him, torrents of cold night winds streaming past him as he was tracking the location of the screams, faster and faster he flapped his wings brushing off the harsh night air that struck him like sharp, icy blades as he neared his destination...

Silver spent most of his life alone, his mother dying when he was only 4 years old, he would spend most of his days alone at the Sacred Alter of the Elemental Crystal, daydreaming about the wondrous object and what it looked like.

Though he didn't known what the stone looked like he overheard descriptions of its beauty- some would say it was colourless and yet others would add that it somehow contained every colour and element known to dragon kind, this greatly intrigued Silver, so he would often wait outside hoping to catch a glimpse-but to no avail.

The stone itself decides what elemental prowess a dragon earns when they are 5 years of age. The most common was fire and water, less common was ice and lightning and so on. Silver was gifted the power of wind, a mighty force and almost as rare as his glistening silver scales-this however only made it more difficult for Silver to make any friends.

He landed outside the shrine. He sprinted up the beautiful marble staircase and beheld a horrific sight-one that caused his stomach to lurch, at least 100 of his fellow dragons, ranging from adult to some of his own classmates, lying there- motionless. Anger and sadness welled within him,

"Who could have done this!?"

He bellowed as he mourned their passing. Although none of them were his friends and they may have treated him badly but it still disgusted him that anyone would even think of taking so many innocent lives. A voice shattered his thoughts,

"I believe your looking for me."

Silver turned around with a furious fire in his eyes, anger clear in his voice,

"why!?"

He demanded to know why anyone would murder so many. The dark figure stepped forward and calmly stated,

"For the stone"

Before Silver could even get a good look at the murderous scum; he was surrounded and scorched by jet black flames.

He could feel his body burning and fuelling the black flames as he cried out in pain.

"Y-you bastard!"

The figure chuckled at his outburst and intensified the flames power. He screamed out even louder at this pain. The worst part was he seemed to enjoy bringing harm to others; this only increased his hate towards the stranger. He tried using his wind element to extinguish the dark flames and injure the figure but to no avail, what were these flames and why couldn't he put them out? And to top it off who was this mysterious stranger? He knew he wouldn't live to find out at this rate as he felt himself slowly slipping away.

A voice at the back of his mind seemed to shout out to him,

"No! It can't end like this! Get up!"

Silver didn't know what else he could do, he could barely move and it was clear he was no match for the stranger; even his mighty wind prowess seems useless. How could anyone be so strong?

He was about to give in when suddenly there was a great flash of light. Silver felt the light envelop him causing the flames to dissipate, relieving his screaming muscles from some pain. He wanted to know what had happened and who or what had extinguished the flames thereby saving him, but his strength failed him as the pain became too much to bare. He felt something soft under him like a bed, it made him feel warm and safe, and this feeling enveloped his entire being as he slowly drifted out of consciousness...
