Chapter 5:Discussions.

Ian just followed Lucas as he opened the door. The room they entered looked like the living room, but Lucas kept on going, heading up the stairs. He seemed upset again... maybe he shouldn't have kissed Lucas without permission but he did tell Ian to prove it wasn't a dream. He smiled when he saw the fox's black-tipped ears twitch in annoyance, "Where we going?" Ian asked.

"Erin and I stay in the attic... Our parents let us convert it into a loft," he stated calmly as they made it up the stairs onto the second floor. Just like the last one it was spotless. Richard was snooping around a bit while Greg was still carrying Erin. She looked so tiny in his arms...

"Don't touch anything!" Lucas snapped just as Richard was about to touch a statue sitting in the hall. The wolf quickly pulled his paw back when he heard Lucas say that and gave him a sheepish look. After a few more minutes they found themselves on the third floor and a dead end.

"It's a dead end..." Ian muttered to the boy. The fox just smirked and grabbed what look like a rope hanging from the ceiling and pulled it down revealing a stairway. "Oh..." was all Ian said. Blushing he watched as Lucas went up the stairs giving him a very nice view of his ass and grinned as saw the Kit's tail wag behind him. He was the second one up followed by Richard with Greg carrying Erin. Ian was pretty surprised to see how nice it was. The room they walked into was covered in plush brown carpet and the walls were painted a light green. He saw a large plasma screen and several game systems. Surrounding the TV were two very large plush couches and two very comfortable looking recliners.

"Wow, nice place mate," Richard said as he looked around and plopped right down on one of the couches. Ian smiled a bit before looking towards Lucas who was nursing the wound on his arm.

"Hey, do you have anything we can use to clean that out?" he asked the fox who shrugged.

"I think we have a first aid kit in the bathroom." The boy stated pointing towards the door to the far left with his uninjured arm. Ian quickly ran towards it and entered the small bathroom. He looked around the room and eventually managed to find it in one of the cupboards. After he came back he noticed the others were settled into the seats. Erin was still out and curled up next to Greg. Richard and Lucas were talking about something before they noticed him standing there.

"Hey Kit, I got that first aid kit... but you'll have to take off your shirt..." he grinned slightly as he saw the boy's face flare up to a bright pink, "Wouldn't want to ruin your shirt would you?" he continued.

Lucas sighed and pulled his shirt off. He was very slender and looked so cute without his clothing. He sat down next to the boy and took out the alcohol and poured it onto a puffball and began dabbing at the bite. He felt and heard Lucas flinch and whine in pain and he quickly muttered a sorry as he continued cleaning the wound out. After a few minutes of silence he asked, "Why were those angels attacking you?"

He felt Lucas just shrug, "I... I don't know, that voice... he wanted my book... my book! Where is it?" he demanded looking panicked.

"Got it right here man," Richard said holding out the book. When he looked at it his eyes widened.

"This is a Codex! How on earth did you get this?" he asked.

Ian looked towards Lucas in shock...

"Wha-what's a Codex?" Lucas asked confused.

Greg was the one to answer. "A Codex is a powerful magic artefact... nobody knows how they were created... it was said they were made by the goddess Hecate herself. These artefacts contain great power. Rune Magic..."

"What's Rune Magic? Is it any different from regular magic?"

Greg nodded, "Yes, normal magic uses our own inborn magic. We use it to fuel our spells... Rune magic however... The magic is sourced from outside the body... by using seals... those runes you see on those pages? They have the potential to warp the very fabric of reality... Very few mages have the potential to even use that type of magic... plus the fact that the runes are almost impossible to control... Many Mages have died trying to use it... So in an act to stop the deaths the Council... our government decided it was best to destroy them... How this one survived the purge and managed to get into your hands or why those angels wanted it I have no idea."

"It was a gift from my dad..." Lucas said as he took the book from Richard's hands. "It's probably the only good gift he ever gave me..." He said holding it tightly to his chest.

He was shaking somewhat. Ian was worried that the boy might be going into shock and decided to hold him to his chest for a bit. He felt Lucas stiffen somewhat but relaxed after a bit. Once he was sure the boy was okay he let him go and went back to cleaning the bite. Once he was finished he found the gauze and wrapped the arm tightly.

"So, you guys are... what are you?" Lucas asked looking at his bandaged arm.

"We're Mage's... Furs who are able to use magic..." Ian answered. He was probably going to get into a lot of trouble for this but the cat was pretty much out of the bag. And he was not going to wipe Lucas' memory. He wouldn't do that to the boy.

"Yeah... but what did you mean when you said you were a light mage? Is there different types of Mages?" Ian nodded and smiled. His love was a quick learner it seemed like.

"Yup, there are actually two types of Mages... Elemental Mages and Non-Elemental Mages, NE-Mages make up the majority of Mages... around maybe 55% if I remember... they aren't connected to any element but they are able to use all elements without much trouble, though in a far weaker fashion than what an Elemental Mage could do. Elemental-Mages however are connected to a specific element. There is six in all, Fire, Water, Earth, Air, Light and Dark." He paused for a bit to see if Lucas was following him. He gave Ian a nod and the wolf continued.

"Anyway yeah... an Elemental Mage has a high level of synergy with a certain element. We can use it without channelling magic into it. As I stated I'm a Light Mage the rarest type along with the Dark Mage. Greg here is an Earth Mage and Richie is a Water Mage... also an Elemental-Mage can use other elements, except for the element most opposite of their original one. For Example a Water Mage will not be able to use Fire Magic and vice-versa the same is true for Earth and Air and Light and Dark... "

Lucas only nodded a bit before asking something else, "What about those things that attacked me and Erin... they didn't look like Angels..."

Ian's face darkened at that. He growled a bit before calming down. "They were Messengers the lowest of the Angelic hierarchy... I honestly don't know much about those creatures but they are extremely dangerous... not the peaceful beings you Mundane's think they are."

"Mundane?" Lucas asked cocking his head to the side in confusion.

"Furs who don't have magic..." he explained. They sat in silence for a bit longer before he heard Erin start to wake up.

She quickly jumped up in panic, "Luc? What's going on? Where are you?" she asked. She looked terrified and vulnerable, quickly looking around and relaxing when she spotted her brother. Then she realized she was sitting on Greg's lap and her face turned a bright pink, but she snuggled up towards him anyway like a child would latch onto a stuffed animal. He noticed Greg flush a bit before holding her towards himself until she calmed down. After that settled he decided he was going to ask a few questions.

"So... that voice... he was calling you a 'dark one'... why?" he asked the fox.

"I-I don't know... I've never been called that before... He called Erin a wind-shifter as well..." Ian and Greg locked eyes, both confused about what was going on... This was making no sense... Ian couldn't sense any magic from the Kit... He was by all means a Mundane as was his sister... yet they somehow managed to possess a Codex... And he was attacked by angels who apparently wanted the said book and was called a dark-one while his sister was called a wind-shifter Dark and Air... He just rubbed his temples trying to figure all this out. He eventually look towards the clock and noticed how late it was... _'Crap! It's almost midnight!' _he realized. They really needed to get home... he just hoped his dad didn't find out about them sneaking out...

"Hey Kit, we should be heading back home... will you two be okay alone?" he asked Lucas who nodded.

"Yeah, we should be okay... thank you Ian... thank you all. If you guys hadn't shown up...I have no idea what would've happened..." Lucas replied shuddering a bit. Ian grabbed him into another tight hug.

He felt Lucas stiffen again and laughed, "You were pretty brave, trying to fight them by yourself... I'll give you props for that," he said letting the fox go but he then grabbed his shoulders looking him dead in the eye, "I got your back Kit; if you are bothered by any bullies I'll personally kick their ass okay?"

Lucas just nodded and Ian bent down and kissed him. Everybody else just looked away but Ian noticed the evil grin on Erin's face. After breaking the kiss he smiled at the dreamy look in Lucas' eyes he was almost tempted to kiss him again before Greg coughed.

"We need to go now Ian. Good seeing you two..." he said to the siblings before grabbing Ian and dragging him out, Richard following behind them.

"Hey let me go!" Ian whined and struggling but Greg refused to let him go until they were outside the house. He simply waved his paw and the door automatically locked itself just as Richard closed the door.

"Now let's head home and pray that Jordan hasn't found out we snuck out... if he has..." Ian shuddered. His father was usually a very nice guy but if he found out they not only got into a fight with a bunch of Angel's but used magic in front of a couple of Mundane's...

"Yeah I really do hope we can avoid that..." Richard muttered as they walked past the still split wall.

"Um... Greg, I think you'll need to fix that..." he told the tall tiger who shrugged and quickly set the wall to how it was earlier no trace that it had been split into two barely a few minutes ago. After he was sure there was absolutely no trace of today's events the trio began to run back through the forest until they found themselves outside the house. The three had just managed to sneak back in before hearing an angry cough. Ian froze and slowly turned to see a very tall black wolf standing a few feet behind them.

"Ha-hi dad!" he managed nervously. He felt the air pressure around him soar and he could barely breathe. His dad was an Air Mage... probably one of the strongest if not the strongest back home...

"Now, I'm just curious. I come downstairs to say good night and all three of you are gone... no note no warning. I was just about to call your mother to tell her you all just went missing! I thought the Cabal had gotten you three!" he yelled his voice raising several octaves. "Or Gods forbid hunters!" He then looked towards Greg with an angry gleam in his eyes causing the tiger to flinch back. The power-gap between the trio and the man was way to big... Ian doubted they would be able to beat him even if they were to charge at him at once. "Gregory, explain! I want to know the reason you saw fit to allow my sons to sneak out late at night! As their Protector I thought you'd know better."

Greg just winced and looked down. He was hurt at hearing the disappointment in his foster-father's voice. Ian and Richard also winced neither remembered the last time anybody had called Greg by his full name, "It's simple sir, Ian had been distracted for most of the day. When we were sparring he let his guard down and I was able to strike him with an Earth disk. He told me he had a bad feeling. He felt like a classmate of ours Lucas Mason was in trouble. He befriended the young fox last week and cared very much for him. So after a few minutes deliberation we decided it would be best to check up on the Kit to make sure he was alright," he said before taking a breath.

"Continue," was all the tall wolf said.

"Yes sir. When we arrived we saw Lucas and his sister Erin being assaulted by angels..." he gulped somewhat as he saw the older wolf's eyes nearly bug out of his face. After taking a deep breath he continued. "We attacked and neutralized the threat. Lucas had been injured during the scuffle and Ian cleaned out the wound. We talked for a bit and discovered that the angels were after something of theirs... Lucas' father had somehow managed to come across a Codex."

"A Codex? How? How on earth did a Mundane come across one of those? I thought they were all destroyed!"

"We do not know sir, and neither did Lucas or his sister... all they knew is that it was a gift... They didn't even know what it was before we told them..." Jordan just sighed a bit.

"Please tell me you wiped the kid's memory... we can't have a Mundane knowing about us..." He noticed the three boys exchange looks before saying, "You didn't, did you? Ian, explain! You know the laws!" he demanded and Ian looked him right in the eyes.

"I refuse to mess with Lucas' memory! He has the right to know what's going on... I..." he quickly stopped himself now definitely wasn't the time to tell his dad he was in love with the Kit. He knew he would have to eventually tell him but now wasn't the time. "I care for him... he's my friend." He said looking away from his father. The man gave a sigh before looking back towards the three.

"You are all grounded... two weeks no exceptions... wait until your mother hears about this... now get to sleep... I wish to speak with this Lucas however Ian. You will bring him to me soon Ian, we need to figure out what to do with this problem and if we can trust the young fox..." he just shook his head and sighed before heading upstairs. "Get to sleep! It's a school night!" He ordered them as he disappeared into the darkness of the stairs.

"He's right, we need to get to sleep," Greg muttered, "I'll see you guys in the morning." With that the tiger walked down into the basement.

Richard yawned and muttered, "He has a point, I'm exhausted! See you in the morning bro!" he said as he walked downstairs following Greg.

Ian just stood there for a bit thinking... he had gotten himself into something he knew it! He had a feeling meeting Lucas might have sent his path into a much more dangerous area but he doubted he would change it for anything... He had fallen for the young fox... he just hoped that Lucas felt the same way... he had been hurt before... Ian knew it. Someone had broken his heart. Maybe that's why he kept everybody at a distance...To avoid getting hurt again? "Please Aphrodite take pity on me..." he muttered to himself maybe the Goddess would hear him... Love was her realm after all and he didn't much feel like praying to any of the other pantheons... He doubted any of the Asian or Egyptian pantheons would hear him and he didn't much trust the Norse gods... His people had yet to forgive the Vikings for invading their homeland... the Norse Gods were never very popular in Britain.

He sighed once more and followed the other two downstairs. He was very tired...

Lucas sighed as he watched Ian and the other two fade into the dark. He really needed to tell Ian to stop kissing him... he enjoyed them sure, but it was still rude not to ask permission first... He blushed a bit... Ian's words still rang in his head. Ian really seemed to like him... it was nice to have someone actually want to be his friend. He heard Erin come up behind him and hug him.

"Thank you," she said as she put her muzzle into his shoulder. She began shaking alarming him. "Thank you for protecting me... but you got hurt..." she began to cry he quickly turned around and hugged her tight ignoring the pain in his arm. "I was so scared..."

"It's okay, those things are gone... we are going to be okay," he crooned to her softly. It was pretty weird to see Erin in such a state, "I'll protect you, I swear on my very life that I will not let any harm come to you. I promise you Erin."

She just nodded into his shoulder, "But you got hurt, I don't want to you get even more hurt." she said, "I just want you to be happy..." He sighed a bit at that.

"I'll be okay Erin, trust me..." He felt her smile.

"Ian really seems to like you..." she told him and he tore her away from him. His face was on fire. Leave it to Erin to ruin a perfectly good sibling moment.

"Really Erin, We were having a perfectly good bonding moment and you just had to ruin it!"

She just laughed a bit, "You were getting sappy and dramatic... so not you," she teased but looked down. "But I was honest... I've never been so scared... how does your arm feel?" she asked.

He gave her a fake smile before saying, "It feels better... Ian did a great job cleaning it out." In truth it was actually hurting more than it was a bit ago and the pain had started to spread past the bite. He was thinking if it spread anymore he'd go to the hospital... he didn't want to worry Erin though. Eventually let out a very large yawn opening his muzzle showing his fangs, "It's getting late... we should get to sleep," he stated, letting her go but she grabbed onto him.

"I don't want to sleep alone!" she said holding onto his arm, "I'm afraid those things will come back!"

He gave her an odd look before sighing. It had been a very long time since she was too scared to sleep alone... but he smiled. He wasn't too sure about sleeping alone either...

"You can bunk with me tonight... I'll have to replace the sheets though..." he said quickly running towards his room and clearing off the cum-stained sheets and ran them to the washer and shoved them in and started the wash. He then went to the linen closet and got a change of sheets. After making the bed he went to fetch Erin. He quickly directed her to the room before he grabbed the Codex... he wasn't sure what he was going to do about this thing... he would figure it out tomorrow though... tonight he just wanted to sleep. So went downstairs and hid the book in one of shelves in their makeshift library on the 3rd floor. After he was sure it was hidden he went back upstairs ready to sleep the day off...
