I can't stop thinking about him

"When we realized winter break was so close, she went crazy."

"She had to dig up the flannel sheets and change your bed."

"Then she went and bought new pillows and flannel pillow covers."

"After she set everything up, she realized we've kept your door closed ever since you left, and we accidently left the attic door near your room open."

"It was probably single digit degrees in your room; there was snow in the attic."

"Hey Brian, are you asleep?"

For the fourth time during the dull tedious three hour long car ride from school to home, Brian had zoned out of another one of his father's attempts to make conversation with his son. The little fox had only one thing on his mind, or rather, one person. The amount of importance he placed on Alex was beginning to teeter on the line between affection and obsession.

"Listen, I'm sorry that she said that. You and I both know that she has a mental disease, you should know you deal with it too. Your mother realized she made a horrible mistake, and ever since then she's been taking her medication faithfully. Everything is much better now, I promise."

Laying there in his bed, Brian lay clutched to his body pillow, somewhat apprehensive of tomorrow. Tomorrow meant finally being able to be with Alex.

Suddenly, his curiosity was spiked when he received an instant message from a screen name that looked a lot like it belonged to Brent.

xTwilightsxReprisalx : Oh hey Brent, what's up...

BunniixoxBoii330: I don't know who you think I am, but just because we met at a club, that doesn't make me the kind of person you believe me to be.

BunniixoxBoii330: I told you to hear me out -.-

BunniixoxBoii330: I think you know full well what the hell I'm talking about and to speed things up, let me just type up a certain text message I received.

xTwilightsxReprisalx:....

xTwilightsxReprisalx: What is the number that sent it?

That was his number alright, but something was wrong. Not only did Brian not know Brent's cell phone number, but he didn't remember sending that message at all. At that moment, Brian heard something he had been hoping to hear all morning, his phone ringing. He refused to let more than three words of his ringtone get out before he opened the phone, now trying to juggle two conversations at once.

"Hey, do you have the address I emailed to you?"

"How long do you think it'll take?"

At this point, Brian's attempt to juggle the two had failed miserably. Brent's asinine judgment of the fox's personality didn't seem to affect him as much as it should have, if at all. Then he finally did something completely out of his normal personality, for once, Brian stood up for himself.

A quick jab at the enter button, a an aggressive click at the block icon, and Brent was out of the arctic fox's life for the time being.

With all distractions out of the way, the fox quickly packed up his car for what he imagined to be the weekend. Both his parents knew Alex and his family, so Brian didn't have to rely on his quick tongue to think up a story to cover up where he was going.

"I can't believe Jeremy did that, I mean, I'm not... attractive. Am I really that threatening?" He kept asking himself dumb questions to pass the time.

"Why don't we go inside? My grandfather is up at the casino for the day, and he knows I have a friend coming over and spending the night, so he won't be alarmed. I just was planning on making you something to eat, because you know how much I love cooking" Alex whispered, the tip of his muzzle clamped down on one of Brian's ears.

"Yeah, I'm kind of evil like that little fox" Alex added with a giggle as they sat down at the table to eat. Eat was an understatement, never take Brian to an IHOP, his favorite restaurant, he eats everything, an action that completely contradicted his size and build. After eating a few waffles, a box of strawberries, and a half pint of chocolate ice cream with it all, Brian felt like he was going to pass out, a feeling not too unfamiliar whenever he ate waffles.

The two quickly made way for Alex's makeshift bedroom upstairs. Swinging the door open, Brian faced something he never faced before. Brian had to make the decision now if he was going to have sex with Alex that night, or wait it out, and he had to make that decision quickly, as he watched the wolf starting to strip right in front of him.

"I've wanted to be with you for so long Alex, I waited what seemed like forever while you were with your ex" the little fox whispered with a slight blush, hoping he wasn't sounding too corny yet, because the worst was yet to come. "You know, I've been thinking of something."

To make sure neither of them turned their first romantic night into a tear jerker, Alex giggled, nuzzling his mate a few times before asking "Hey, I want to ask you something, so keep an open mind alright little fox?" He waited for Brian to collect himself, or give any sign of being able to answer a question. "You're a very special mate Brian, and I want to do something with you that I haven't done before with anyone else."

It was only eight o'clock, but it was winter, it was pitch black out. From where he was laying, the little fox could look out the window and see the star-painted night sky, as beautiful as ever.

"Oh, before you fall asleep, I have a surprise for you, remember?" Alex yelped, interrupting the fox's thinking.

I wanna' heal, I wanna' feel like I'm close to something real
