yet another chapter of my story

edit. whoops! titled it wrong. this is actually chapter nine, not chapter ten. my bad

second edit. I toned down one of the threats made just a bit. i was told it was over the top and I agree with that statement.

third edit. twas given some advice on a later chapter so I came back to tone things down here and make it flow a little better. hope it is an improvement.

I wake with a start as bits and pieces of my memory of last night haunt my dreams. I relax when I feel Sarven lying in bed next to me. I feel something large and scaly pressing against my back and notice the funny smell in the air at about the same time. I look down and find to my horror that Zerinnon is also in the bed with us, and Sarven is fully erect. Oh dear merciful god what happened last night? Zerinnon shifts in the bed and I can feel pressure against my abdomen as he moves. Oh dear god please don't be what I think this is! I look down again and begin to panic as I catch sight of the bulge in my abdominal muscles. DAMN! Why do I keep doing this!?! Why do I keep screwing up like this? Zerinnon continues to move. He wraps his lower half around Sarven in a big U shape. A few seconds later Zerinnon wraps his arms around my chest and draws closer to me. Zerinnon is so close to me that his crown is partially draped across my face when Sarven starts moving too. HOW DO I GET MYSELF INTO THESE SITUATIONS!?! Sarven pulls himself closer to me wrapping his legs around both Zerinnon and me, and then drapes his wing over the two of us. I get lost in my thoughts as I panic and try desperately to figure out some way to escape this mess. As my thoughts run wild Zerinnon pulls back slightly then trusts forward reminding me of the situation I am in and shattering my train of thought. I hear a knock on the door and really start panicking. Zerinnon raises his head at the sound and waits. After there is a second knock at the door Zerinnon slowly pulls out and then slithers out of the bed to answer the door.

"Oh, sorry. Uh is this a bad time?" I hear Berrwain ask. Oh god not you, not now. Please just go away!

"What makes you think this is a bad time?" Zerinnon replies.

"Well, uhh, not to make this awkward but look down. You're fully erect and covered in cum down there!" Berrwain exclaims. Then almost as a second thought adds "No homo"

"Well I was a little busy, but no, this isn't a bad time. And yes, I am well aware of what state I am in" Zerinnon replies flatly.

"I will just come back later. This is just way to damn weird for me. No offense, but I just don't feel comfortable talking to you when you're like this" Berrwain says as he walks away. Oh thank god! He's gone! Zerinnon slithers back to the bed and then climbs back into bed with Sarven and me. Zerinnon slowly assumes the position he was in before the disturbance and slowly slides into me once more. D_amn it!_ I struggle not to react to what Zerinnon is doing. I am on the verge of screaming when Zerinnon finally stops moving. As soon as Zerinnon stops moving Sarven twitches causing one of his scales to cut my arm. OW! Oh shit I'm bleeding. This is bad! Sarven is going to wake up any second now! What the fuck do I do!?!

"What's going on?" Sarven asks as his eyes snap open. Sarven raises his head to look around and finds Zerinnon behind me with his arms wrapped around me. I try to hide my face in the pillow but can't break free of Zerinnon's embrace to do so. Just kill me now. I don't want to see what is about to happen. Sarven leans closer to Zerinnon as if to rip his throat out. I cover my face with my hands and try to ignore what is transpiring behind my back. Much to my surprise I feel an affectionate lick on my neck instead of a spray of blood.

"You can stop freaking out now Drosmine. No one is getting hurt here and no one is angry" Sarven whispers in my ear.

"What do you mean I can stop freaking out now?" I ask quietly.

"I know what happened last night. You may not but I do, and it was planed. I couldn't think of any other way to get you to stop drinking. You try not to drink whenever you go to a bar with friends, but you always end up doing it and then getting in trouble. I can't keep getting you out of bad situations so you need to stop getting into them" Sarven explains. Relief floods through me as Sarven explains what's going on.

"So then what exactly DID happen last night? And how the hell did I end up between two erect dragons?" I ask.

"If you don't remember what happened last night it is probably best you keep it that way" Zerinnon says behind me.

"Okay, but how the hell did we end up tied?" I reply.

"If you insist upon knowing what happened I will tell you later. It is a conversation for another time" Zerinnon replies solemnly.

"I don't know about you two, but I am getting out of bed. The weather is finally calm enough for us to continue our trip and I would like to get an early start today. Drosmine, you and I still need to stop by Vealdan's residency to inform his mate and children what is going on" Sarven comments as he crawls out of the bed and walks out the door of the room.

"Now that he is gone, there is more to be said. Sarven knows you still have feelings for me. He is not worried about this because he knows you love him and would never leave him. But he also knows I have feelings for you. I know I can never call you my mate, but if you're willing Sarven has made it known to me the real reason he is leaving the two of us together here" Zerinnon explains as soon as the door closes.

"You mean to suggest that Sarven is allowing this to happen?" I ask tentatively.

"I mean to say that Sarven told me to savor this because it will be the last time" Zerinnon replies.

"Did he really say that?" I ask.

"He did" Zerinnon replies.

"I just don't get it. Why the sudden change of heart? Last time we were together he tried to kill you every time he saw you for several years and that was when Sarven and I were only friends. But now that we are mates he is willingly allowing this to happen? I'm so confused" I ramble.

"You don't need to make sense of it, you just need to decide what you are going to do" Zerinnon whispers in my ear.

"I don't know what to do" I reply.

"Sarven will be with you for the rest of your life. I won't be" Zerinnon whispers seductively as he slowly presses against my back.

"What is it that you want to do Zerinnon?" I ask.

"All I want to do is hold you in my arms right now. I want to make this last as long as possible" Zerinnon replies longingly.

"I can do that" I say as I struggle to turn to face Zerinnon. I wrap my arms around Zerinnon and pull myself closer to him. Zerinnon wraps himself around me in a big U shape like he did earlier with Sarven. With a long hissing sigh Zerinnon stops moving and leans closer to me covering my head with his crown and the rest of my body with his own.

"I love you Drosmine, even if I can't have you there is always a special place in my heart for you" Zerinnon whispers in my ear once he thinks I have fallen asleep again.

"Even if I can't be yours you will always mean something more to me than just a friend" I whisper back as I tighten my embrace. Zerinnon croons and caresses me until I fall asleep again.

"Maybe someday we can be together. Maybe someday" Zerinnon whispers longingly after I lose consciousness. Zerinnon holds me like this for around an hour before falling asleep himself.

"WAKE UP YOU TWO!" Berrwain yells.

"Ugh, what's all the yelling about?" I ask groggily as I wake up.

"It's NOON! LET'S GO! If we aren't out of here in half an hour we all get charged for another day for the rooms!" Berrwain yells yet again.

"We get it Berrwain. We're up you can leave now" Zerinnon snaps.

"Well you better hurry up! Everyone is waiting on you two to get ready so we can leave!" Berrwain retorts as he walks out the door.

"Are you alright?" I ask.

"I'm fine. Why do you ask?"

"You seem rather tense right now, and you're twitching. That only happens when you're angry" I reply.

"Don't worry about it, I'm fine" Zerinnon replies curtly. "Berrwain is right, we should get ready. We do need to get moving soon"

"Alright, suit yourself. I am going to get my stuff packed up and a set of clean clothes" I say flatly. Zerinnon reluctantly releases me from his embrace and slowly pulls his member out.

"You go do that. I'm goanna get cleaned up before we go" Zerinnon says as he slithers out of bed and into the bathroom closing the door behind himself. I walk over to the bathroom door and wait until I hear the shower turn on before testing the doorknob. Locked. Damn, he really doesn't want to talk. He will open up eventually, I hope. I pull on my pants and walk out the door and down the hall to my own room. I open the door and walk in to find all of my stuff already packed and a change of clothes on the bathroom counter next to a bottle of shampoo and a bar of soap. Subtle Sarven. Real subtle. Well I better not throw this in his face, he did go out of his way to make Zerinnon and me happy. I take my pants off and shut the bathroom door before turning the shower on. I let the water run hot before stepping into the shower. I scrub myself to get rid of the smell of sex and whatever it was that smelled so damn pungent. I wince in pain as soap runs over the incision on my right arm. Damn that hurts. I should probably have Sarven clean that out for me before it gets infected. As I step out of the shower I hear a scratch at the door. I dry myself off and wrap the towel around my waist then I open the door and immediately I find myself falling back as Sarven pounces on me. Sarven licks my face repeatedly as I am pinned to the floor.

"Haha cut it out you silly dragon!" I say with a laugh.

"You're up! Ready to go yet? Huh? Ready? Let's go! Come on! Hurry up slow poke!" Sarven says excitedly before jumping off of me and prancing around the room like an excited puppy. I stand up and pull on the clean clothes and grab my stuff from the pocket of my jeans on the floor. I collect my dirty clothes and throw them in a plastic bag and tie it to my back pack. I pick up my bags and walk out the door with Sarven on my heels.

"What has you so excited today? Your acting like an over joyous puppy again. Damn this just never gets old! This is so damn cute! A full grown dragon acting like a playful little puppy in public" I say with a chuckle as I reach for my phone. I pull my phone out and record Sarven acting like a puppy as we walk.

"I most certainly am not an over joyous puppy! No matter how much I may act like one!" Sarven replies with a huff pretending to be insulted.

"I never said you were, I simply pointed out that's how you are acting right now" I reply with a smile before I run into the door frame at the top of the stairs and fall on my ass.

"You should really pay more attention to where you're going than recording videos of me being playful" Sarven taunts with a grin.

"Yeah yeah real funny. Can you help me up?" I reply sarcastically.

"Sure, just pay more attention to where you're going from now on. I don't want you to fall down a flight of concrete stairs because you aren't paying attention" Sarven says as he grabs the collar of my shirt in his jaws to drag me to my feet.

"Thanks for that" I say as Sarven drops me on my feet. I walk through the door and down the stairs with Sarven behind me. As Sarven and I round the bend we hear the door at the top of the stairs open and something start slithering down the steps. "Hey here comes Zerinnon. It's about time he got moving! Berrwain seemed pretty pissed about coming so close to paying for another night for the rooms"

"That's because Berrwain has seen the price tag for these rooms and you aren't the one paying for them" Sarven replies. "Now lets go before we actually do have to pay for another night"

"Oh, well then let's get moving! Better not make anyone pay excessively for things they shouldn't have to" I say as I quicken my pace. As I pass by a door to another floor I hear a song faintly playing on the other side. I stop to listen and quickly identify the song as This Is Gonna Hurt by Sixx AM. Before I can move the door flings open and knocks me back making me lose my balance and fall towards the flight of stairs. Sarven reaches out and catches me before I tumble head over heels down the concrete stairs. A little kid comes running through the door and then turns around and runs the other way screaming "Mommy mommy there's a dragon attacking someone on the stairs!" Sarven pulls me back onto my feet yet again and looks at my shirt.

"What was that kid talking about? And why are you staring at my chest?" I ask as I look down. I find three long slits and one short tear in my shirt. "I don't even want to know what happened underneath my shirt until we return the room keys" I say as I hurry down the stairs with Sarven. I run through the door and up to the desk to return the room keys. As I hand over the keys the clerk looks up and jumps in surprise pointing at my chest.

"Are you alright? Do you need me to call an ambulance?" The clerk asks as he rushes to get around the counter.

"It's just a scratch, I'm fine. I would like to return my room keys and check out" I reply calmly.

"It is more than just a scratch man! Look at your shirt! Your bleeding heavily! That doesn't happen with a minor scratch" The man exclaims. I look down at my shirt to find it saturated with blood.

"Well, that's new. I will have to go get that checked out. Can I please check out now? And possibly get some gauze?" I reply cooly.

"Don't you care that your bleeding?" The clerk replies, the confusion plastered on his face.

"Oh I care; I just choose to remain calm about it. Get worked up and your heart rate increases and then so does the rate of blood loss. Remain calm and not only do you maintain a slower rate of blood loss you also decrease the chance of going into shock. I know full well what happened to me and I know that I will need medical attention before the day is out, but that can wait if I can stay calm, now it would be appreciated if you would do the same and allow me to check out so that I can go to the hospital to get a blood transfusion and some stitches. May I check out now and get some bandages?" I reply calmly.

"Uhh, sure. I'm sorry to waste your time sir. Just give me the room keys and I will take care of the rest for you" The clerk replies as he walk back behind the counter. I hand over the room keys and turn to leave for the parking garage. As I walk away I hear the clerk say something about a lawsuit to one of his co-workers.

"Don't worry about that, there won't be any lawsuits filed" I call out loudly as I walk away. Upon hearing this, the manager that yelled at me the first night snaps to attention and runs to catch up with me.

"What do you mean lawsuit?" The man asks.

"I'm bleeding profusely and need immediate medical attention if I am to continue my trip without delay. I am saying there will be no lawsuit filed against this hotel because the cause of my injuries was an accident and a young child. I don't want to persecute said child's parents" I explain. As I am explaining this I spot the child and his mother leaving an elevator. The child notices me and pulls on his mother's shirt sleeve and points at me. The mother looks at me and immediately comes running over to me.

"Oh my god are you all right? So my son wasn't joking when he said someone was being attacked by a dragon. Filthy oversized fire breathing lizards are always attacking people! Stupid little bastards should be captured and put to death if you ask me!" The woman rants.

"Excuse me? Did you really just say what I think you said? I don't need nor do I EVER want the help of a bigot. I was not planning to press charges because it was an accident that caused my injuries, but if you going to be a RACIST maybe I should press charges. Get out of my face before I decide to persecute you in a court of law for charges of assault" I reply cooly. I feel something warm and sticky drip onto my hand and become aware of the smell of blood in the air. I notice the dragon sitting across the room looking at my bleeding chest and licking his lips. I turn my attention back to the now mortified woman standing in front of me before continuing my rant. "What are you waiting for? Get out of my sight before I decide you don't deserve this mercy. Scumbag racists don't deserve mercy, so count yourself lucky and take this blessing because you most certainly won't be getting anymore from me" I say quietly. "You have the audacity to come to offer me help and insult my beloved mate at the same time? If I wasn't hit by the door your child threw open I would not have lost my balance and then a dragon would not have had to reach out to stop me from falling down several flights of concrete stairs. I was NOT attacked and I will not have you spreading bull shit lies that I was to further your racist agenda of getting dragons as a whole exterminated from this planet. Understand?" I say quietly. Without waiting for a response I turn on the ball of my heel and walk away leaving a sour tension in the air. Without breaking the silence I walk out the door and enter the parking garage to retrieve my truck. I find Sarven waiting for me with several rolls of gauze.

"You know, you really should not have done that. You didn't need to confront that woman. Every person is entitled to their own beliefs even if they are incredibly racist and harmful to others" Sarven tells me as he cuts my shirt open with one of his talons.

"I just couldn't let her talk shit about you for stopping me from plummeting down several flights of concrete stairs! That kind of fall would have surely paralyzed or even killed me and we both know that. You saved me from that and she goes off making you look like a brainless monster for doing so. Do you want me to just let her get away with that crap?" I ask as I remove what is left of my shirt.

"You don't have to let her get away with being the scumbag that we both know she is, but you don't have to make such a scene out of going after her. Now hold still so I can clean this for you" Sarven replies as he begins cleaning out the wounds in my chest so that I can bandage the open incisions.

"Sarven I think we better talk in a language less frequently spoken, there are listening ears that we don't want to hear what has to be said" I say loudly in English. "Sarven I think she is coming after us" I say quietly in the draconic language.

"Oh I know it is her. Let her come after us. What is there that she can do? If she does anything you can press charges, we both know that." Sarven replies.

"I ought to kill you where you stand for what you just pulled! And to top it off you allow a dragon to lick you. The only thing worse than a dragon is a human that likes dragons!" the woman screams at me from across the parking complex.

"I would watch your mouth if I were you. You're in no position to be picking a fight with me because if I so choose I can forgo my currently planed trip to persecute you in a court of law and have you ruined. You might want to choose your next words carefully because my patience wears thin" I reply, delivering the warning spiting the words like acid. The woman just looks at me angrily for a few minutes before turning around and walking back into the hotel.

"Drosmine you really need to stop getting so worked up while you still have open incisions in your chest! Now hold still!" Sarven comments.

"Sorry about that, I just can't stand that horrible woman" I reply.

"Lay down on the hood of the truck so I can better clean this out" Sarven instructs. I climb onto the hood of the truck and lay down on my back.

"I didn't know you understood the native draconic tongue" Vealdan says as he walks back to Sarven carrying an array of medical supplies.

"Not only do I understand it I speak it fluently" I reply still speaking the draconic language.

"Wow! I'm quite impressed Drosmine! Learning the Draconic language is not an easy accomplishment! To not only understand it but to fluently speak it is far more difficult. You are quite the impressive young man Drosmine. You would have made one hell of a dragon" Vealdan replies in the draconic language.

"If you two are done talking idly I need some help Vealdan. Drosmine has lost quite a bit of blood. I need you to get a glucose drip set up for him while I bandage the wounds on his chest so that he stops bleeding. Drosmine needs to be able to drive to the hospital to get a blood transfusion and some stitches, he can't do that if he does not have fluid in his veins" Sarven says urgently as he begins to wrap the gauze around my chest.

"Sarven just how bad is it? All you did was stop me from falling, it can't possibly be THAT bad can it?" I ask.

"What on earth was that?" Berrwain asks as he walks over to the truck.

"It was Drosmine speaking in the draconic language. What do you need Berrwain?" Sarven replies testily. "And yes Drosmine, it really is THAT bad. There are some pretty deep incisions in your chest and I have no idea what else could have been damaged" Sarven replies in the draconic language yet again.

"Oh damn. I guess we had better get to a hospital quickly then, shouldn't we?" I reply.

"Damn right! I am NOT going to let you suffer permanent injury because of this so let's get moving" Sarven replies as he ties off the gauze. "Hurry up and get the truck started so we can get the trailer and get out of here" Sarven says as he hurries away to prepare the trailer to be hooked up to the hitch and dragged out. I quickly climb into the truck and fight to get the engine turning. I switch the fuel source to gasoline and try to get the engine turning again and this time it works. I back the truck up to the trailer and switch the fuel source back to diesel as Sarven attaches the trailer to the hitch. As soon as Sarven gives the okay I throw the transmission into first gear and punch the gas to get the truck moving. A few minutes later I park the truck outside the parking garage so that Vealdan and Sarven can climb into the truck to go to the hospital with me. As soon as both dragons are in the truck I let go of the parking brake and peel out. About half an hour later I pull into the hospital parking lot and park the truck. Sarven and Vealdan climb out of the truck before I get out and we all rush inside. As I walk through the door the woman behind the desk stands up and rushes out to the waiting room to get to me.

"You just sit down and rest. You're in good hands now, we will get you taken care of" The nurse tells me as she directs me to an open seat. I am confused at first because the waiting room is full of other people in rough shape.

Drosmine you're still shirtless and your bandages have already turned red. You look like your dyeing right now. As far as the nurse is concerned your top priority right now, and you should be. If you lose much more blood you risk loss of consciousness and then we will have some serious trouble. Sarven tells me.

I see. Hey, where is that glucose drip Vealdan was supposed to set up?

Behind your head. The needle was just put in your arm so lean back and put some pressure on the bag would you? A glucose drip doesn't do you any good if you don't get any fluids out of it.

I lean back and find a small plastic bag behind my head. I close my eyes for a moment and rest before the nurse comes back into the waiting room. The nurse rushes over to me and places two fingers on my neck just behind my jaw line to check my pulse.

"I'm fine, I just need a blood transfusion and some stitches" I tell the nurse. The woman takes a step back and looks at me like I belong in a mental rehabilitation facility.

Drosmine your still speaking the draconic tongue Sarven tells me.

"I'm fine, I just need a blood transfusion and some stitches" I repeat in English.

"Are you sure you haven't suffered any head injuries?" The nurse asks.

"Have you never met someone capable of fluently speaking the draconic tongue?" I ask.

"If that's what that was then that makes you the first human known to be able to speak that language" the nurse replies. "Now let's go get you taken care of" the nurse tells me. Then she notices the glucose drip reservoir behind my head. "Where the heck did that come from?" The nurse asks as she reaches out to confiscate the bag.

"I brought it with me. It wasn't cheap and it is the only thing keeping me awake right now so please leave it where it is" I request as I bat at the nurse's hand.

"I don't know if that is sterile. I can't let you keep using that the way it is. Just come with me and I will get you a replacement that is guaranteed to be sterile" The nurse explains.

"So you're telling me that the only thing keeping me from going into severe shock and potentially the only thing standing between me and death needs to be removed before another one is prepared? Where is the logic in this statement?" I reply as I slowly stand up.

"Well when you put it that way I guess I can let you keep it for a little longer, but no longer than absolutely necessary. Now please, come with me and we will get you taken care of" The nurse says.

"Now I know you really don't much care and you probably aren't listening but I need a type AB negative blood transfusion" I begin to say but am cut off.

"I don't care if you know your blood type. The doctor is the one you need to tell this to" the nurse says curtly.

"Would you let me talk? I can't accept any random blood transfusion. I was a test tube baby. I have several genetic mutations, chief of which is my blood type. I don't have human blood in my veins. You need to tell the doctor that the blood donor is going to be in the room with me" I say flatly.

"Ugh, just tell the doctor!" the nurse snaps.

"Rough day?" I ask softly.

"You don't know the half of it. All day ive had people walking in here with problems that should be taken to a walk in Clinique and only three other people that have showed up today have actually needed to be in the ICU! You make the fourth person to need immediate medical attention and you are still conscious! Hell, you drove yourself here! How are you even in such good shape for such grievous bleeding?" the nurse rants.

"I have much experience with heavy bleeding and open wounds. My parents were military medics and I am mated to a dragon with razor sharp talons. I know how to remain calm and control my heart rate to an extent. Remain calm and it takes longer for shock to set in and it keeps your heart rate lower which also maintains a lower rate of blood loss. Also this is one of the many reasons I keep several sterile glucose drips at the ready and within reach on long road trips like this" I reply calmly as the nurse leads me down the hall and into a room.

"You are going to have to wait in the waiting room" the nurse says as she turns to Sarven.

"He is the one that is going to be giving me the blood transfusion" I state flatly.

"But you're a human and he is a dragon. His blood will kill you" the nurse says, the confusion plastered across her face.

"I said earlier I am a test tube baby, and I have several genetic mutations. This is one of many of those genetic mutations" I explain. I turn to face the doctor waiting in the room. "Can we just get this blood transfusion done and over with? I have places to go and things to do"

"Straight to the point then. It is not every day that someone just waltzes in here in your condition and asks to get things done quickly so that they can be on their way. Either you are one tough man or you are incredibly unstable. Either way, yes, we can get this done and over with" the doctor replies.

"Finally someone that doesn't ask questions" I exclaim.

"Come on over here and we will hurry up and get this transfusion taken care of for you and have you sent on your way" the doctor tells me as he gestures towards an examination table. I walk across the room and take a seat with Sarven standing next to me. The doctor leads Sarven out of the room and down the hall. A little while later the doctor comes back into the room carrying a plastic bag filled with blood labeled O negative human.

"What do you think you're doing with that? I told you already I don't have human blood in my veins. That crap will kill me faster than a lethal injection will!" I say as I inch away from the doctor.

"Don't worry, once we get your transfusion taken care of we can have a psychiatric evaluation done to make sure you aren't suffering brain damage from the loss of blood" the doctor says as he replaces the glucose drip reservoir with the blood container. I immediately rip the needle from my arm before standing up.

"You're insane! I told you that will kill me. I can even show you the medical documentation to prove that what I say is truth and I am not insane!" I exclaim as I step away from the hose to what was a glucose drip. Sarven comes walking into the room holding a netbook and a flash drive. "Is that the flash drive with my medical records on it?"

"Yes it is. Now if you would kindly look at the medical records provided for the well being of my companion you will clearly see that he does in fact have draconic blood flowing through his veins. Now are you going to give him the transfusion that will save his life or do you still insist on poisoning him?" Sarven asks calmly as the doctor inspects the records on the computer.

"I thought you were crazy! Damn, a human with dragon's blood. I will be right back" the doctor says as he walks out of the room. A few minutes later he walks back in with another package of blood labeled AB negative dragon. The doctor removes the previous package from the hangar and sets up the blood drip and a sterile needle. The doctor presses the needle into my left arm and walks out of the room without saying a word. About an hour passes before the package is empty and the doctor walks in with another package and proper tools to close the wounds in my chest. Without saying a word the doctor sews shut my wounds and hooks up the second blood drip. "When that is empty call for me" the doctor says before walking out the door. A little while later I yell for the doctor and he comes walking into the room to remove the blood drip from my arm. "Just go to the front desk and the nurse that brought you back here will take care of the billing process" the doctor says as he walks out of the room. I get up and walk to the waiting room where I find the nurse sitting behind the desk again. I walk over and hand over my ID and insurance card. The nurse takes them without a word and types some information into a computer.

"You should be good Mr. bloodseeker. Your insurance will cover the costs and you should be free to go. Wait, is your last name really bloodseaker?" the nurse tells me as she hands over my ID and insurance card.

"Aye that it is. Kind of funny when you think about it. My last name is bloodseaker and I came here for a blood transfusion" I comment before I walk out the door and back to the truck. I wait for Sarven and Vealdan before climbing back into the truck and once again fighting to get the engine turning.

"Are the others already on the road?" I ask.

"They are all a few hours down the road; If we hurry we can still catch up by the end of the day" Sarven replies. I pick up on his tone and rush to get the truck on the road and back onto the freeway. After fighting with traffic I finally make it to the on ramp to the freeway and punch the gas. The engine roars and black smoke spews from the tailpipes as the fuel management program engages all ten cylinders of the engine and temporarily lifts the acceleration governor. The speedometer steadily climbs at an impressive rate for such a heavy load and then tops out at one hundred and twenty five as the governor kicks back in.

"You really think we can catch them?" Vealdan asks. "They have a two and a half hour head start! They are over one hundred and sixty miles ahead of us right now!"

"You obviously haven't seen my driving if you don't think we can close that extra one sixty in just a few hours" I comment slyly. "Sarven, kill the governor"
