Dream long, Dream Lost
Just messing around and I came up with this. One of my more surreal works, in a collection of poetry that I am working on. Enjoy
Dream Long, Dream Lost
I dreamed of a tree
And the tree was good
And the sky was red
With all the things that should.
You turn around and go the
Other way
To the forlorn place where
The dead ones lay.
For the truth of the world
Is repeated again
As the worlds collide
And creation ends.
I trust in this heart that was
Never mine
And hope lamb and wolf
Can both walk the line?
Why do I cry?
When there's no one there
And pray for the best
When they all can't care.
The wind cries. The moon waits.
The sun shuts out the dark lit gates.
Dreams they haunt.
Memory lingers.
Imagination just lifts a finger.
And laughter is there in
That of possibilities
Lost.
