Immortal Season 2 - Chapter 19 - Revelations Amongst Frauds

After escaping the desert of the men who committed violence against god. The two came to the edge of a cave then they stopped. Before them laid the ten horrible Bolgia. The separate punishments for those who committed an act of Fraud. Moving in cautiously it became dark and dank. Spider weds clung to the walls as if no one had passed this way in centuries.

Wendigo had stopped all but a few who had come this far. Fraud was one of if not the most committed act amongst mortals. Simply fraud is the simple act of lying. Everyone does it and they aren't going to stop anytime soon. People aren't punished for eternity over small white lies. It takes so much more to be damned to this place. Slowly Katashi pushed through the webs. They entered a large circular room over a bottomless pit. Ten pathways led out around them leading to into separate caverns. Only one way led out of the caverns and to the final descent to the bottom of hell.

"Panderers' and Seducers, Flatters, Simonists, False Prophets, Corrupt Politicians, Hypocrites, Thieves, False Advisors, Sowers of Discord, and Falsifiers," Katashi read the markings around each door. "This couldn't be easy could it?" Sayomi looked at the eight paths. In these caverns, he could sense something familiar. Something that he hadn't felt in years. He heard a sudden squeak throughout the halls and turned quickly.

"You ok?" Katashi looked at him. "Yeah, Well leader which way?" He looked at Katashi. Katashi had no idea of which way to go. These caverns had no distinguishing characteristics. Every hall seemed exactly as the last and getting lost was very easy to do. With a sigh, he looked back and suddenly noticed Sayomi was gone. "Sayomi?" He gulped and heard thick hooves moving towards him. Katashi looked back seeing Andreas staring at him from the Falsifiers Hallway. "You...you've done all of this...you've lead me here, now lets end it!" Sayomi raised his sword.

"Sorry child this is not the place for your fight," Andreas narrowed his eyes. "This is the correct way to go, It will lead you out if you think that's what you want," He suddenly appeared behind Katashi. Shaking Katashi gulped never even seeing him move or vanish. "Or is that guilt still boiling inside your mind," He whispered softly in the humans ear. Katashi's mind moved to his father and that tragic night. His hands shook and his Yoso vanished. "You've led me here, trapped me here, what more hell can you put me through," A tear fell from his cheek. "Is that a challenge?" He hissed letting his tail rattle. "What..." Katashi looked back.

Unthinkingly his eyes met Andreas' and he stared intently. The serpentine eyes staring back didn't blink as their gaze penetrated him. Falling onto his knees a black haze moved from the bulls eyes to his. Katashi was suddenly cast back to that night. Staring at his father again as the roof collapsed onto him. His eyes welled up in tears as Andreas stepped from the fire. "So child...this is what you fear most?" He hissed and his tail glowed an eerie green. Smoke rolling off his body as he penetrated his mind. Katashi reached out as the image replayed repeatedly.

"No Hell I create would match the horror you feel right now," Andreas gazed at him and Katashi stepped forward. The fire became more intense as it began again. Katashi suddenly ran towards the fire to try to save his father. Andreas narrowed his eyes as the roof collapsed onto of them both. Katashi lay silent trying to push himself up from under the wood. "Katashi..." He heard his father's voice whisper. Shaking he stared at his father who was still alive under the rubble. Knowing his death was imminent he brought his hands up and began to pray. "Lord...please watch over Naru, Makota, and Hina...and please...if you can...lead Katashi the right way, As long as he's safe I will go with you to any place you send me," His father sighed and let out his last breath.

For the first time Katashi realized that, his father's death wasn't his fault. His father sacrificed his own life to save his son. Reaching out to his father a figure appeared in the fire. His own father's soul holding out his hand to his son. "Dad..." Katashi gasped as his father smiled. Reaching up he felt more of the ceiling collapse on his back. The unbearable weight pinning him to the floor. Suddenly a door of light opened behind him. Ligeron standing in it smiling at the soul now separated from its body. With a short bow, Ligeron led the man from the fire to paradise instantly. His sacrifice warranted him an instant ticket to the great palace of Heaven.

The boys blue hair stood out against the flames as he began to sob. He knew why he came to hell so quickly. He wanted to see if his father had been sent here. He needed to know that his father wasn't trapped in some nightmarish hell that this was. Suddenly he felt his sword in between his fingers. Looking at it, he stared unsure. "If you are sad it will cry, if you're happy it will rejoice, if you're in pain it will suffer, and if you die it will parish," Artemis' words rattled his mind. "You won't give up will you," Katashi smiled. "Yansei..." He whispered and his entire body radiated out energy blasting off the burning lumber.

Light and darkness swirled around his body as a coat formed over his figure. This coat similar to the commanders except half was white and half was black. In his right hand, he held a long golden sword with a white angelic handled hilt. A long white ribbon stretching up from its base around the blade. In his left, he held rusty iron red blade with a black demonic wing hilt. A long black chain wrapping up around his arm. Opening his eyes with one slash, he shattered the illusion around himself. He stood before in his mind before Andreas. Staring up at him no longer afraid but with a look of confusion. "Why show me this?" He asked and Andreas faded from his mind. Katashi woke in Fraud standing up from his knees. He turned silently to the Falsifiers doorway. "I have to know," He ran to it.

Sayomi on the other hand had entered a separate passage. The Thieves, he moved through the hall slowly. The walls seemed to encroach on him slowly. The craggy stone walls and darkness hovered over him. He stepped out onto a large walkway along the wall of a cavern. Looking down he could see people sitting before a great statue of a dragon. From its mouth and cracks poured thousands of serpents and lizards. The thieves below rushed around them ground being bitten and attack. As they did some burst into flame turning to ashes and slowly resurrected from a fire pit in the center. Others were bit are turned into small mice and devoured by the valley of serpents.

Sayomi gasped and heard a squeak overhead. Looking up his eyes widened as he saw the familiar bat sitting atop the dragons head. His sword swung slowly from his hand like foot. It seemed to his as it cut through the air. Glaring down the black monster glared at him with an eerie smile. "So you finally made it," He laughed softly. "Shahool?" Sayomi gulped and felt the shadows under him suddenly open. He seemed to fall forever into the darkness. No light penetrated down into this horrible place. Landing with a loud grunt Sayomi pushed himself up. Shahool stood across from him and raised his scimitar. "Why?...I thought you were my partner?" He narrowed his eyes getting to his feet. "Now why would I be a partner with a thief," He laughed and rushed forward. Lifting his hand Sayomi blocked with an exact copy of the scimitar. Both blades sparking as they pressed hard against one another. "I am no thief!" Sayomi shoved him back. "Oh indeed you are, I remember giving my power to someone a lot stronger," The bat hissed. "I am the same person if not stronger," Sayomi corrected him.

"No your not, the child I gave my power to was a lot stronger, and he wouldn't have come here to fight against his master," He smirked. His words cut deep into Sayomi much worse than any sword ever could. He was insulting Sayomi's loyalty to his master. "And he wouldn't have fallen for such a stupid human boy," The bat smiled again. "What?" Sayomi gasped and gripped the scimitar harder. "That Katashi boy...You've followed him for so long without a word, even fought to get back to him, now if that isn't love then what is," He let out a bat like shriek. He rushed him again this time the sword Sayomi blocked was simple a shadow. The real sword cut across his stomach deeply sending him rolling backwards.

Sayomi forced himself back up and yelled without response slicing across the bats arm. The bat smiled catching a drop of the blood in his mouth and jumped back disappearing inside the shadows. Sayomi turned and looked around himself. The bats wings echoed throughout the hall swiftly. Another slash came across his back and he grunted. "Sever!" He slashed through the air. He cut through the light around him leaving a black hole before him. With intense suction, everything began to draw to it. "You used my trick to absorb the lust storm, you think I'll fall for it?" The bat mocked and lashed forward slamming his sword into the hole. The powers sparked against one another and the cut through light began to shrink. Suddenly it dissipated from existence and the blade cut deep into Sayomi's shoulder.

Letting out a yell in pain Sayomi brought his sword up cutting the bats leg barely. The bat hissed and back flipped kicking him away. "Sever!" He slashed six time leaving large holes through space. Naite Iru Kage's power was to destroy spatial light to the dark matter of space. Leaving these black holes in their wake. No many techniques could defeat these but the bat mocked him further. "Sever and cleave!" The bat roared. Sayomi gasped never learning this technique. The bat raised his scimitar the entire blade becoming a black hole. Attacking each slash, he overwhelmed them and forced them back out of existence.

Sayomi gasped and his shirt tore open behind him. His own wings opened and he jumped up running as a last resort. Soaring around the room he dodged attacks. Sweat trickling down his forehead as he used almost all his energy. "Did I ever show you the full potential of my power?" The bat narrowed his eyes and Sayomi looked back. "Yansei Yoso," The bat hissed and rushed forward. Katashi stopped at the edge of cliff staring out he could see the great chain towering up into the sky. The cliff covered in ice and small torches of fire. He could sense Andreas deep inside the pit. With his mind at last clear, he knew he had the strength to challenge him. Sliding down the stairwell, he passed great statues of giants. Them bearing all the weight of hell behind on top of them. Down he slid deep into the final Circle of Hell, Treachery.

Sora tried to force himself up in the cathedral of Heresy. Serveti towered over him drawing near. "Damn you..." Sora's hand suddenly slid out form under him making him collapse. Coughing up blood, he waited for the creature to deliver the final strike. Raising his foot by the long strings Serveti planned to crush him. He quickly brought his foot down and stopped short. An arrow flung from the doorway cutting the string holding up his head. He thrashed grabbing his ears and held his head up. "I think that's more than enough," Artemis growled and lifted her bow once more. Pulling back on the string another arrow grew from her fingers. Un her corporals stood at her side staring the creature down.

"Stupid bitch!" Serveti blasted two massive energy bolts at her. Jumping away, she zipped to his side pulling back on the string again. Serveti stopped her by swinging her tail and she jumped up landing on the wall. Her hooves stuck to the wall like glue making Serveti raise his eyebrows. "What is this sorcery?" He growled. "It's an ability my power over nature gives me, its called root, I can root myself to any surface as it was the ground," The doe released and the arrow dove deep into Serveti's spine. Severing his spinal cord did nothing to him. "So you really are a puppet," Artemis put her bow at her side. "Then my arrows and their paralyzing poison will have no affect," She stared at him.

Serveti laughed and raised his hands again. "Doesn't mean I'm not going to win, Yansei Yoso, Jikko Keimusho Mankai," She spoke and held up her bow. Suddenly the wood of the elegantly carved bow began to grow roots. They wrapped down into the floor and pushed up the ground around them. Sora watched as they moved under him. The bow soon became a great tree, which shattered the room only a few strings holding up Serveti. Enough to allow him to move but not much else. Lifting his hands, he planned to fire one last blast. The branches of the trees became thick with leaves and blossoms.

A cloud of pollen released from the blossoms as they bloomed. "What...is this?" His energy died. "Stage One Yansei, Jikko Keimusho Mankai," She smiled and Serveti looked at his hands. The pollen on his hands suddenly grew small sprouts. All over, his body grew small sprouts and moss. "These buds are only the top of a giant beast, Their roots can grow for miles, spread across continents and keep going," She turned away from him.

Serveti thrashed tearing out the buds as Un moved to Sora helping him up. She began to heal him as Serveti tossed his head around as the roots of the plants began to weave through his muscles. The buds turned to great vines, which wrapped around his body pushing into and out of his throat. The others moving up along his cords into the mechanism above. Serveti hissed as the machine sparked and clogged up with plants material. "Witch..." he hissed as a vine pushed out of his nose and roots slid out around his eyes. Suddenly the new weight on him made the cords snap. He fell onto the ground and the roots quickly found the soil. As fast as they had appeared the vines grew large beautiful blossoms.

Holding her hand up and the bow sat in her palm as before. "Are you ok Sora?" Un held him against her. "What do you think?" He coughed up blood as he healed slowly. "Shh be silent Sora, we'll handle it from here," She smiled and the two supported him up. They led him through the doorway into Violence to follow his friends.
