//?A Curious Sergal Part 3

He wandered down the endless labyrinth of corridors. Alien characters were scribbled on the walls. He couldn't read what they were saying, but he could still tell what they were for. SEC112, SEC113, SEC114. If only he could read the markers, then he could finally escape. The fur on his neck stood on end as he sensed something watching him. He sprinted down the corridors, sometimes leaping on all fours to dodge the wreckage strewn about by the last people who lived there. He swerved down one corridor and into another, heart pounding in his chest, until finally he reached an antechamber. He stopped to catch his breath.

Pat. Pat. Pat. (footstep sound)

He whirled around to see who was following him. His predatory eyes scanned through the corridor he had just come through. Nothing...

"Who's there!" He shouted.

Nothing...

He relaxed and turned back around to come face to face with a massive, golden clad object. Before he could react, the Keeper started to glow, and there was a bright flash of light. mOTHER was waiting...

Hoot! WHAM!

He shot up and promptly smashed his head into the wood in front of him. An owl was on the branch adjacent to him. Jax rubbed the sleep out of his eyes and untied his harness from the tree. He looked down to see what had caused the owl to spook. Something was rustling in the bush where he had placed one of his snares. He hopped down to a lower branch; it was time to hunt.

A Shigu scout had carelessly stumbled into one of Jax' snares, and was now desperately trying to cut its binding rope with one hand while keeping her other hand on her spear and her eyes on the surrounding location. It was quite apparent that in her panicked state, her multitasking was rolling a CRITICAL MISS. From his vantage point in the trees right in the blind spot behind her ears, this would be easy...

(Censored) (OR WRITE INCREADIBLY BLOODY GORE-FEST LATER)

Jax licked the blood off his fingers. He had always secretly hated violence. It was a queer thing for a Sergal, being a natural born predator, but when he thought of all that the Shigu had done to him... he purred as the warm red liquid slid down his throat. He while he was very mature mentally, he was still not wise enough to admit to himself that he was committing such a vile atrocity simply due to his earlier dream, which had left him hollow and devoid of emotion. He felt that somehow it was the Shigus' fault that he had been expelled from his old clan, and that justified his actions. Also, after surviving for five years in the Nomad facility, he could have eaten anything to survive. After his fingers were less blood stained than mattered, he leafed through the scout's pack. As it turned out, its previous owner had been carrying a requisition for more supplies to be sent to a Shigu garrison in the area. Jax bundled up the note and took the scout's spear's head after wrapping the base in bandages just before carving a hexagonal emblem into the leather armor of what remained of the scout with his new dagger. Then he was off.

Jax finally returned to his hideout in the early morning; his normal bed time. His most recent excursion had been much longer than usual, and he was more than ready to be home. He walked through the familiar bushes, scrambled up the familiar tree using the same familiar foot-holes as always, and found his familiar branch. His familiar scent filled his nose as he sniffed around his familiar area. His familiar nest. His familiar home. After pitifully attempting to groom himself (Sergals groom in groups for a reason), he tied himself to his branch and lay down to sleep through the unfamiliar day. He fell asleep and waited for the world to once again be enveloped in shadow.

The next twilight...

Jax curled his legs up under him, forming a sort of table to better write on. He took out the Shigu map and the requisition letter and spread them out on his lap. Taking out his pen (one of the more useful Nomadic inventions), he rushed to mark all the clans in the general vicinity of the Shigu outpost that needed restocking on his map before the dwindling reading light receded too far to write. He found three opposing clans on the map that he planned on informing of the Shigu's temporary weakness. After marking it down on his map, he quickly copied the note onto two other parchments, giving him a total of three. It was now time to put his plan into action.
