In a semi-futuristic world where everyone spends their time on the net, one gamer is about to find out the dangers of using pirated software.

Beware Unlicensed Mods

"You absolutely HAVE to try the newest mod for Cyber Nightmare!" Mikael heard a young man say behind him as he walked past the small park to his apartment. He could see the group of friends hovering over a holopad looking at the latest trailer for the game, which brought a small smile to his face. Living in the megacity as they did there wasn't much in the way of outdoor entertainment or aesthetics, most of it converted into structures for living and supplying the massive population that lived within. The city wasn't dirty by any means, the robotic scrubbers and hovering air purifiers made sure of that. It was just that the almost identical drab grey buildings broken up by the occasional tiny plot of land that they reserved for open space areas.

It was this lack of optical variety that made Mikael hurry past the security sensor in his building and into his apartment. The gaming companies had taken advantage of this fact and introduced a new type of gaming console, a virtual reality console that focused on total immersion of the player. With the introduction of full neural relay suits the player could feel everything in their environment as they swam in the oceans or ran through the forests of the virtually created worlds. It gave him a freedom that was impossible to find in the cramped confines of the city, and with the plethora of games that were out there he could find hours of time in escapist fantasies.

"Home sweet home." Mikael said to no one as he entered his cramped apartment. Dishes were stacked up in the sink and delivery boxes were stacked in the corner next to his trash can, signs of his neglect of the real world in favor of his virtual paradises. It didn't matter much, with the built in processors and cleaners in his apartment the job would only take a fraction of the time it used to take, and after a long day of work he really wanted to unwind...

After setting his phone to automatically dial for delivery food in a few hours he went into his bedroom, nearly the entire space dominated by a large pod with a leather chair in the middle of it. It was one of the best on the market; most people just had a helmet and gloves to interface with their games and internet. But those builds only allowed for subpar immersion, a lot of times the world skipped or lagged. Instead he went for the biggest model he could find, with state of the art processors and neural interface modules that provided almost zero lag and the smoothest graphical transitions ever. The first time he sat in one of the demo booths and stepped foot inside the virtual field, the smell of grass wafting through his nostrils as he felt the simulated sunshine on his face, that nothing else would be good enough for him. It set him back nearly his entire savings, but for the ability to escape the city for a few hours each night he considered it the best investment he had ever made.

He quickly stripped out of his clothes, going into his closet for the neoprene bodysuit that served as the bridge between the pod and his body. As he slid the slick material over his body he frowned slightly, having to look at his lanky frame as he put the black neoprene over his skin. He never liked the way he looked, his body covered with a layer of fat that came from the years of delivery food and sedentary lifestyle and his short brown hair greasy and unkempt from the lack of attention he gave it. Thankfully as he slid the hood over his head and sealed the rubber mask over his face he would soon be escaping from his poor body type as well.

Once his bodysuit was secure he slid into the seat, the shiny black chair molding to his body as he sank down into it. As soon as he was comfortable he activated the entire system, the clear plexi-glass lid slid down into position and he could hear the seals locking. At the same time several hoses connected to his mask, which would allow him to breathe as the nano-molecular fluid filled the tank. When the fluid touched the chair and his suit they both suddenly lit up with neon green lines, the integrated circuitry activating and connecting his body to the system. He could feel his breathing fall into a steady rhythm as the eyepieces of the mask went dark, the fluid flowing over his rubber-covered face. It only took a few more seconds before the tank was completely filled, the automated programs hummed to life and he heard in his suit integrated earpiece the countdown until complete neural synchronicity...

*********************************************

The second he heard the word zero he opened his eyes to find himself in the entrance of a granite cave surrounded by think forest, his operations platform. There were several presets but he chose this one because of the view, the cave representing his storage space while the trees where his buffering and security programs, and for the Operations System Manager that came with it.

"It's good to see you again Mikael." A large voice rumbled as a huge dragon pawed out of the cave, his emerald-green scales shined as the last of him digitized from the blackness to appear before him.

"It's good to see you too Thornn." Mikael replied with a small smile on his face. The dragon was huge, which represented the massive amount of processing power of his machine, and custom-designed to his specifications. The first time he had activated his program he had spent the entire weekend merely interacting with his OSM and even flew on his back over the virtual forests of his interface platform. "The leaves are a beautiful color this time of year; I can only imagine how autumn looked like when there were actual trees."

"That they are." Thornn replied with a smile on his muzzle as he waved his forepaw and several screens materialized in the air. "Do you have a preference of scenario for tonight or will you be choosing from random?"

"I hear there's a new mod out for Cyber Night, it's been a while since I've played that game." Mikael replied as he sat down on a rock, enjoying the sensations of nature against his skin. At this point he was no longer the pathetic suited human that he despised; instead he had chosen to be an elf male instead. Hidden underneath the simple leathers that served as his clothing were strong, lean cords of muscle, his elven face framed with long, shiny black hair that had the points of his ears sticking out of it. He figured as long as he was going to live in a fantasy world he would have himself play the part as well, and had the manufacturer not required him to use his real name he would have changed that too.

"Very good, I am sensing that there is in fact a new modification available." Thornn informed him as his long claw tapped one of the screens which caused it to expand and overwhelm the others. "Would you like me to charge your account the fifty credits to add it on to your main game?"

"Fifty?" Mikael balked slightly. "That's way too much for a simple expansion to a game I rarely play. Is there anything similar to it on the network?"

"Checking... yes, there is another new mod on the network that is for Cyber Night and appears to be similar in nature to this one." Thornn said as he breathed fire and destroyed the current screen, and then replaced it with another one. "Warning, it's an unlicensed mod and therefore any installation that causes software or hardware damage will void your warranty with all parties responsible."

Mikael sighed as his OSM gave him the usual legal ramifications of downloading non-corporate modifications to games. It never really bothered him, not only were they usually just as good if not better than the ones that the companies came out with they were also free, which helped salvage some of his budget. Plus he had one of the best security systems and antiviral programs that civilians could buy, even when he did find a bad mod Thornn would destroy it before it had a chance to corrupt any of his systems. "I understand Thornn, install it anyway." He commanded.

"Installation complete." The dragon said a second later. "Scans detect no malicious software, would you like to run it now?"

Mikael nodded and almost instantly the world faded away from him, replaced with the ruins of a city shrouded in darkness. The clothing he was wearing had been replaced with a suit of giga-armor, a full body covering that was used in military operations on other planets. He also had a huge gun in his hands, both things he had earned from hours of playing this particular MMORPG. As his visor screen came up he found his minimap, which gave him the direction he needed to go, as well as a list of other players on the server that he could interact with.

Not wanting to waste any more time, the armor suited elf ran forward down the destroyed street, the cracked pavement crunched and gave slightly as his heavy boots slammed against it. He was not a stealthy character in this game, his upgrades purely for run and gun tactics as he moved towards the objective indicator on his map. As he headed towards a mostly intact mega-factory, the usual type of map setting for the post-apocalyptic setting, his message screen suddenly lit up. It was from someone he never had met before; someone he assumed was no older than eleven as he struggled to make out the grammatically poor sentence. "Get out of here now?" He thought he deciphered, though before he had a chance to ask the other player to clarify his avatar logged out.

The message worried Mikael slightly; most non-sanctioned mods ran with cloaking software to prevent the cyber-police finding and shutting it down. The penalty for being in one was harsh, up to and including the confiscation of his gaming unit. A quick non-game scan showed that everything appeared to be running silent, and usually mods like this were add-on adventures that only took a few hours at most to run through. As he stood there and deliberated he suddenly heard something move to the left of him, his instincts causing him quickly turn and bring his gun up. He quickly checked his blindspot cams as well, standing silently as he waited for the potential threat to show itself.

"Hey, you!" Mikael suddenly heard from the shadows, looking towards the entrance of the building and seeing a young man in a skintight cyber-armor suit waving him over. "Hurry up and get in here before they get you!"

Suddenly three huge beasts, black as the starless sky behind them and over seven feet tall, suddenly left over the piles of wreckage and leapt towards him. Mikael quickly retreated backwards, firing off a salvo of plasma rounds that quickly dropped the first creature in its tracks. He was about twenty meters away from the door, but the two remaining monsters were extremely fast and quickly gained on his position. He fired on the second one and dropped it as well, though it took a few more bullets as the creatures now anticipated his attacks. When he dropped the second creature it seemed to give the last one pause, just enough time for him to get passed the reinforced door and close it behind him. The thick omni-steel gave slightly as they heard the creature crash into it, then scratch against it several times before it finally ceased.

"Finally, a decent fighter." The man breathed a sigh of relief as he looked Mikael over. "Am I glad to see you."

"Tough mod huh?" Mikael said off-handedly as he looked both at his surroundings and updated mini-map, finding himself in one of the access stairwells of the factories' main production floor. Mikael just saw the guy shake his head and motioned to follow him up the stairs. Normally he did mods alone unless they required a party to defeat, but something about the scenario seemed... off. The way the other player acted he almost seemed downtrodden, not the usual moping of someone who may have gotten killed way too many times but actual hopelessness.

"There's something very wrong with this mod." The human finally said as they came to the door of the factory's observation deck. "I can't explain it very well, but there's someone in here who can."

When he opened the door he saw five other players as well, which constituted all of the people on the message list in the same area. One of them named 'Samus' had armor similar to his own, covered head to toe in armor as he pointed two large submachine guns in their direction. A male and female player was like the player he came up with, clad only in basic armor and weaponry. One guy, a fellow elf avatar like him, only had on clothing and a lab coat, an obvious technician or doctor for the group. The last man had been stripped of everything but a pair of spandex underwear, curled up in the fetal position. On his shoulder and down his back were three large, perpendicular gashes, the skin around them black and shiny as his body shuddered slightly.

"Found another Giga!" The first player, who was listed as 'Sal' on his message screen, said as he waved their guns off.

"That makes two..." the female listed as 'Rose' said in relief, "perhaps we might actually have a chance now. What do you think, Technician?"

"Let's not get our hopes too far up." The Technician said, his name appearing strangely as only a series of letters, symbols, and numbers, as he walked up to Mikael. "You any good at fighting, or did credits buy your gear?"

"I earned all of this." Mikael replied curtly. "Now what's going on here? You guys are playing like an RP group yet you're talking about this in real life terms, and you think that something is wrong with the mod?"

The Technician shook his head in dismay, and then led him over to the computer screen he had been previously working on. "This not a normal program that we are currently running in." He explained. "I'm a computer programmer by trade and this is code that I've never even seen before, made by someone named Haleon who've I've never heard of in the modding community. These... werewolf creatures... they are not ordinary lines of code that form your usual NPC's. They're like viruses, able to infect other programs..."

"Other programs?" Mikael asked. "You mean like my interface platform?"

"I mean YOU." The Technician replied curtly as he grabbed him by his arm and led him to the half-naked player on the corner. "Him and I are the only ones left of the original party that came into this mod, the rest of them have all been turned into those creatures. That blackness on his skin? That's the alien programming working its way into the very core of his neural relay network. How he's managed to hold on this long is beyond me, but before long he's going to become one of them."

"So far we've been safe as long as we stayed up here in the observation deck, the Technician here sees to that." Rose spoke up. "There seems to be two different types of viral programs in this mod. There are those shadow wolves that are outside the factory, we're guessing they're there to pick of the weak and stupid. Inside the factory are the cyberwolves, beings of superior intelligence and strength that prey on those that try to get to the end of the mod."

Mikael could hardly believe his ears, there were multiple safeguards that prevented any sort of feedback into the neural relays other than basic touch and what were deemed 'good feelings'. Yet as his eyes continued to focus on the player in the corner he saw the blackness continue to spread on his skin, as well as what appeared to be vague markings that appeared to be his neural circuitry network. "So let's just log out of here then!" Mikael stated.

"You think we haven't tried that?!" The Technician snapped. "If we could we would have gotten out of here ages ago! The only two points of contact with the main network are where we came in and at the end of the mod. Everything else is black-boxed, the entire program is sealed off. If we can't find some way to get ourselves to the end of this nightmare than we're all going to end up dead or god only knows what!"

"We got another player logged in!" Sal suddenly said as they all looked to see another name added to their message list. "Mikael, come with me!"

Mikael wanted to ask why but he was already on his way towards the stairwell, which prompted him to follow for his protection. They raced down the stairs, but instead of going towards the door that he had come in they carefully made their way towards what appeared to be the front entrance. "The shadow wolves might be basic entities, but they know to watch a door that we've previously popped out of before." Sal explained. "But as long as we change up our game it seems to fool them easily enough."

"How many people have you saved in this mod already?" Mikael asked, gun at the ready.

"We used to have about eighteen people." Sal replied. "But we attempted a raid to get through to the other side and finish the mod and were unprepared for the creatures that awaited us. The worst part is how they convert you... well; I'll spare you the details but let's just say that everyone here is definitely over twenty-one years old in their profile. Ah, here we are."

They reached the huge double doors of what appeared to be the factory's atrium; though they looked to be made of mere glass they knew it was far stronger stuff. Outside they could see the newest player to enter the mod, the lightly armored individual looking under various piles of rubble. "Damn, he's a gatherer." Sal muttered as they watched him. Mikael knew exactly what he meant, as it was a common term for someone who took hours looking under every nook and cranny to try and find secret items or unlockables.

"He's too far away for private message, we're going to have to shout for him." Sal said as he carefully opened the doors and poked his head out. "Hey! You! Get inside here immediately!"

While it seemed like he had gotten the player's attention he continued to look under things, completely oblivious to the growing threat that gathered around him. "You're headphones not working or something!?" Sal shouted again. "Get inside here RIGHT NOW!"

The other player looked up at them with an angry look on his face, but that look quickly turned to one of horror as he spotted the midnight-black werewolves that had surrounded him. He pulled out his pistol but it was too late, the first massive beast moved forward and quickly knocked him to the ground. The rest of them followed suit, their black claws ripping away the armor and helmet that covered his body. Strangely none of their attacks ever broke the flesh, which left his body naked but still perfectly intact.

"They don't need to attack him, that's the slow way of converting." Sal told him. "This way is far more effective... and terrible."

"Stand back." Mikael said, opening the other door and pointing his plasma rifle at the creatures. Before he could get a shot off, however, Sal quickly put a hand on the gun and pushed it down.

"It's too late for him." Sal said forlornly as he closed the door and locked it once more. All Mikael could do is stand there and watch behind the glass as two of the shadow creatures held the yelling man by his wrists and ankles as the third straddled his chest. He immediately realized what Sal meant by the area being for adults, the three black werewolves all sporting huge erections, the one on his chest dripping with black slime. As the player's head was grabbed by the huge monster his yelling had dramatically dropped, his eyes rolling back in his head slightly as the creature's cock was pushed in front of his face.

Mikael put a hand in front of his mouth as he watched the man open his mouth, the black liquid running down his cheeks before the tip was thrust into his mouth. Through the scope attachment on his rifle he could see the black on his skin begin to tendril out, spreading like veins across his face as he began to be corrupted from the inside as well. Soon more creatures began to join the fray as well, until the group became so thick that he could no longer see what was going on. About a minute later the mob parted, the player replaced with another midnight black wolf that quickly got up and joined the rest of the pack in the darkness. At the same time he noticed that the player's name disappeared from the message list.

As Sal turned back towards the stairs he felt Mikael's heavy hand on his shoulder, spinning the surprised player around. "What the hell happened to him?" Mikael asked, feeling fear for the first time since he'd ever logged onto his system.

"We don't know." Sal replied with a shrug. "The Technician's best guess is that this was supposed to be a survivor vs. monster scenario, one of those where when you die you go on the other side until the next match... except the next match never happens. Some sort of mutation in the program has created this nightmare world, and we have no idea what happens to the players after they've been turned. All we know is that they don't return to the real world... the Technician managed to get a diagnostic test to one of our vanquished players and he couldn't even connect to his OSM."

"This is insanity!" Mikael shouted. "You're telling me that these creatures are going to have sex with me and turn me into one of them and there's nothing I can do about it!?"

"Calm down!" Sal shouted back. "We're going to figure something out, plus at least you got the giga-armor, I feel like I have a giant 'rape me' sign on my back with this thin stuff. Now let's get back to the rest of the group... I'm sure they'll be waiting for us."

When they arrived back in the observation room they found it in chaos; the Technician frantically typing away on a keyboard as the other player in the giga armor held the infected player in a headlock. "Stay away from him!" The Technician warned as he motioned for them to stand with the others, who had their backs against the opposite wall. "I can't hold the virus back much longer!"

Black froth began to drip from the infected player's mouth as he thrashed and writhed in Samus' grip, black fangs poking past his lips. The blackness around his wounds had crept around his body towards his chest, the purple lines of his neural networking suit clearly visable now as it continued to warp and corrupt his flesh. The metal of Samus' giga suit began to creak and strain as the creature began to grow bigger as well, his flesh swelled with muscle as the parts of him covered with shiny black skin erupted with similarly colored fur. The player's cries became deeper and more feral as his tactics turned from getting away from his captor to attacking him with the sharp black claws that sprouted from his fingers and toes.

Suddenly the computer in front of the technician shot sparks as the elven avatar nearly fell out of his seat. "He's corrupted the network!" He shouted. "The protections are gone, we have to move now!"

There was a slight panic in the air as the Technician ran out the door, followed quickly by the lesser armored individuals. Soon the only ones left in the room were Mikael and Samus, Mikael moved his way over and grabbed the changing human by the ankles and motioned towards the already broken observation window. Samus nodded in agreement and they moved over towards the edge, the player's feet lengthening and twisting in Mikael's hands as the infection completely overtook the player's body. The last thing they saw before they tossed him over was his face pushing out into a muzzle as its tongue lengthened into a long tentacle and the huge bulge in his spandex underwear turning into a huge, semi-bestial cock.

"Dear god, is that all our fates?" Samus said as they looked over the edge, unable to see where the creature had landed.

"I hope not..." Mikael replied, glad that his armor prevented his new comrade from seeing the wavering faith on his face. When they joined up with the rest of the group they also had the same forlorn expressions on their face as he had. The only one with some spirit left was the technician, who had just come back up from the ground floor with Sal to tell them that the coast was clear.

"So what do we do now?" Rose asked as she clutched her gun nervously. "Without those defenses the cyberwolves can come in at any time and... well..."

"We'll just have to finish the mod, that's all." The Technician replied stoicly, though he was immediately met with a wave of disapproval from the rest of the group that he quickly silenced with several hand gestures. "I know it's a longshot, but if just one of us can get out than they can get the cyber-police to come and scrub this whole place, hopefully saving all the people as well. Now the two gigas will take the front and back, and the rest of us will cover in the middle. Is that understood?"

To their surprise they all nodded and fell into line, the elf speaking with such authority that no one wanted to challenge him. Mikael thought to himself that if they got out of this alive and unchanged he would have to perhaps exchange OSM contact info. The Technician screamed hacker though, so any chance of that was probably non-existent which made him slightly saddened by the fact. A small part of him also realized that he also might be crushing slightly on him, they did choose the same elf style of avatar after all... Mikael shook his head of such a thought, scolding himself for thinking of such dire things in such a tense situation, especially as Samus opened the doors and began to move.

The entire group had their guns drawn as they moved through the empty mega factory, Mikael offering silent prayers as his eyes kept darting from his surroundings to the objective location on his mini-map. They had a lot of ground to cover, and the lightly armored players had begun to lose their nerve as they moved between the dusty pallets. Every so often his motion sensor caught movement, not enough to get a lock on but certainly enough to establish that there were other creatures out there. He also saw Samus jerking from left to right as well as they walked forward, his targeting sensors most likely giving him the same reading.

"Stop." The Technician said suddenly, motioning for them all to move to the side of the wall where a computer terminal glowed dimly. "I can loop the biofeedback I recorded from the transforming cyberwolf to create a dampening field, enough to at least give us some camoflauge."

"Then hurry up!" Sal hissed quietly yet forcefully as they all put their backs up against the wall and pointed their guns out into the darkness. For a minute the only sounds were of their breathing and the nearly silent typing of the Technician, though it appeared that for the moment they were safe.

As Mikael took a second to regain his composure he was suddenly IMed by Samus, who told him that his sonic sensors had started to pick up something on the other side of the wall. Unfortunately he didn't pick up that mod for his armor, choosing instead for the cooling unit that masked his heat signature. Still, as the other armored individual pressed up against the wall to try and sense the vibrations better he moved towards one of the windows. It was caked in dust but also broken partially, which hopefully would at least allow him to get his gun onto the other side. His scope doubled as a camera that fed information directly into his helmet visor, which at that point was far more convenient than sticking his head into the other room to be attacked by some unknown horror.

"Sal, cover me." Mikael whispered as he took his gun and carefully pointed the muzzle over to the other side. The other room was almost pitch black, the only light coming from several broken windows like the one he was at. As he moved his gun from side to side he didn't see anything but a few glimmers, which could have easily been the light reflecting off of his gun or some other piece of metal. When he was done he quickly moved back into position and messaged Samus that he didn't see anything.

When Samus didn't reply he turned back to see that he was still against the wall like before, though every so often the metal seemed to twitch slightly. After he attempted to hail him a second time he slowly began to grab the others and move them behind him, pointing his gun up at the silent player. "Technician, come with me please." Mikael almost whispered, holding out his free hand to try and grab the oblivious elf that was between him and Samus.

"Almost done." The Technician replied, though a low growl from his other side caused him to stop dead in his tracks. He turned to see Samus' armor begin to leak a black liquid from its joints, staining the metal black as it began to deform. The elf could only stand there in horror as the suit of armor dislodged itself from the wall, several thick, black tentacles buried into the chest, groin, and head area that had swelled and shaped itself into metal musculature.

Thankfully Mikael was close enough to grab the Technician by the collar and throw him back, discharging his plasma rifle at the same time as the infected giga-armor continued to mutate and red circuitry appeared on its body. The holes he blasted into the creature only spilled more of the corruptive fluid before the metal fibers wove back together and repaired it instantly. The tentacles broke off from the wall and slithered inside the suit, which seemed to accept them eagerly as the helmet's eyes turned red and it's normally featureless face bulged out into a muzzle. "Run!" The Technician shouted, Mikael firing several more rounds into the hulking creature as he back-pedaled with them.

It didn't take long before they got separated, which Mikael suspected was what the cyberwolves wanted all along. As he ran down one of the larger hallways he saw both Sal and the other male's name disappear from his roster as well, likely victims. All he could do now was concentrate on staying alive and unchanged, which was easier said than done as he could hear the nightmarish werewolves scrabbling about him.

After about five minutes of running and gunning he reached an area that gave him some semblance of safety to give himself a bit of a breather. There was still Rose and Technician out there, though without heavy weapons and armor he wondered how they were going to survive. He looked at his mini-map and found that while he had taken a bit of a round-about way he was still closing in on the objective, with Rose and the Technician moving in front of him. Just as he was about to message them and ask how they were doing he suddenly heard Rose scream, then again as he got up from his position.

"Rose!" Mikael shouted. "Hang on, I'll give you support!" Two more cyberwolves leapt from the shadows at him as he moved forward, one of them managed to catch his gauntlet as he blasted them both with an automatic burst from his rifle. When both creatures disintegrated he looked down at his gauntlet, warning bells going off in his helmet as he could see the edges of the metal turn black and begin to melt. Thankfully his armor was sectioned off, and with a mental thought it crumbled apart and hit the floor. After a quick inspection to see his arm was alright he continued forward, hoping up onto a platform that hung in the middle of the factory.

When he saw Rose she looked to be hanging on to dear life, half her body dangling from the edge as she appeared to be in pain from holding onto the nearby handrail. "Mikael... help..." she said as she looked up at him, a pleading look in her eyes.

"I got you." Mikael replied as he ran over to offer his hand to her, only to jump back a second later in horror. While Rose held onto the platform one of the cyberwolves was right below her, grinning maliciously up at him as his huge black member pushed its way between her cheeks, which had turned the same shiny black as her spine extended into a thick tail. She couldn't even be classified as a 'she' anymore, her nether lips replaced with a black cock of her own as her torso bulged under the top half of her armor. "What the hell?!"

"Mikael, help us spread..." Rose said as her face went from a cry to help to a twisted grin, her arms bulging and ripping through her clothes as her chest broadened greatly. "You'll feel so good!" The changes had already reached her head as the veins in her neck turned black, than changing the skin around it as black bile dripped from her mouth. It also dripped from her ears, which grew to the top of her head and became pointed while her eyes began to glow a bright gold.

"Join us." The newly created male cyberwolf growled as he hoisted himself up, pulling himself free from his corrupter as the rebar he held onto snapped in his hands. The form fitting body armor that Rose formerly wore was in tatters, which showed off his massive pecs and abs as he gripped his drooling tool in his hands and began to stroke. Mikael, stunned before from the female's transformation into a male monster, regained himself enough to realize what he was trying to do and called upon all of his self-defense training to kick the monster between the legs as hard as he could. If the beast had iris's they would have gone crossed as he fell back in pain, slamming into the werewolf behind him and both of them falling to the floor. While this gave Mikael the escape he needed he did get a bit of the corruptive cum on his boot, which he sadly had to eject along with other one so he wasn't running lopsided.

After another frantic round of dodging and shooting he had the end in sight, surprised to see the Technician working on the controls of a massive blast door. "Hey, Mikael!" The elf shouted as he waved the other player over. "We're almost there, just give me some cover!"

"How in the hell did you get all the way here?" Mikael asked as he took a fighting stance to cover the other elf.

"Special rounds I had been developing." The Technician replied without even turning, holding up a clip that looked compatible with his rifle. "Have a clip for you too, originally meant for Samus but... well..."

"Yeah..." Mikael said dejectedly as he loaded the rounds. "Wait, how did you do this? None of us have any real connection to the main network to buy or create something like this." The Technician just shrugged as he continued to work on the door, and before long Mikael had his own hands full as he blasted away at the creatures making their way towards them. The bullets were ridiculously effective, only taking one round to completely vaporize them. "These bullets... are amazing!"

"You can thank me properly later." The Technician replied as several of the wires on the console sparked, which in turn caused the gears hidden within the wall to turn and open the huge steel door. As soon as the metal teeth of the opening began to part the cyberwolves no longer attacked, which caused them to sigh in relief as they waited for their chance to get inside. While they waited Mikael checked the clip of special ammo, seeing that he only had one bullet left which caused his stomach to turn slightly.

Once they were through the door closed behind him, florescent lights flickering on as they found themselves in a circular, steel room. "Well... now what?" Mikael asked as he looked around.

"Now... you get to make a choice." A voice said around them, which echoed off the metal walls and caused them both to look around with their weapons drawn.

"Just get us out of here!" Mikael shouted. "I want to go home!"

"Do you?" Suddenly the air in front of them shimmered, a black creature stepping out from the distortion. It was an anthro eagle, made out of what appeared to be solid black metal that absorbed the light rather than reflected it. As it flared out its wings he could see an even darker circuitry tracing that that seemed to run through every feather, the same color as his eyes as they stared into his. Just looking at them made Mikael feel light-headed, his own green neural circuitry appearing on his armor as it flickered slightly.

"This creature..." the Technician balked, "this creature is made up completely of malicious programming. Its entire body is one big string of corruptive code! Mikael, stop looking at it and shoot it before it gets you too!"

"Big talk for a mere AI." The eagle creature smirked, which caused the elf avatar to back away against the wall. "That's right; I know your little secret, not hard considering what you've done with my mod. Heh, you're nothing but a figment of some greasy programmer's imagination I bet. Probably came to this area looking for a place to hide."

"Shut up!" Mikael shouted once more, steeling his resolve and bringing up his gun once more. "AI or not, he's saved my skin more than once tonight, and if that means I'm going to hide him in my OSM then so be it. So we're logging out, right-"

Mikael didn't even get to finish his sentence as a sharp stabbing sensation entered his chest, causing him to stagger backwards. He hadn't even seen the feather leave the creature, but there it was imbedded in his chest with the tip just barely poking out of his armor. His vision began to blur as he dropped to his knees, vaguely able to hear the Technician yelling next to him as he felt the immense cold of the corruption begin to pulse inside of him. As he laid down on the ground he saw the elf standing over him, still yelling to hold on as he tried to grab the feather before Mikael stopped him.

"As I said, you have a choice." The infected player heard the eagle's voice in his mind. "You have an amazing will, honed by the time that you've spent on the network. Join me and I'll give you what you've always desired, that your electronic form will become your true form. No longer will you have to deal with the pathetic frailties of your organic body; you will be immortal and one of the most powerful creations of the new realm that will spread from here. All you have to do is one... little... thing..."

The Technician could feel his emotions running on high gear as he tried to save his new friend's neural network from the eagle's corruption. With a wave of his hand he defragged the armor that Mikael had been wearing, leaving him only in a pair of spandex brief's for modesty as he looked at the feather. It seemed that it had dug even deeper into his skin, the skin and muscle around it puffing up and branching out under his skin as the transformative code wove its way into what should have been an indestructible core. "Mikael... I don't know what to do..."

Mikael mouthed something that The Technician couldn't hear, the player's voice a mere whisper as he laid there. The AI leaned down to try and hear what he was saying, only to once more find himself unable to hear anything more than a whisper. Finally he leaned down and put his ear right next to the player's mouth, his body shivering as he felt his hot breath against his earlobe as he concentrated on what was being said...

"Join me." The Technician's eyes widened, but before he could get away Mikael's hands shot up and clamped around his head, pinning him in place. The elf tried to squirm away, but his captor's growing strength held him in place as he felt something cold and slick slide into his ear. Since the AI had no real concept of human anatomy aside from surface structure the tentacle easily pushed inside his body, the Technician's body going limp as the eagle's viral code was injected into the core of his being. It didn't take long for it to completely rewrite the one thing it targeted, his morality and ethics as his look of sadness slowly turned into one of happy bliss.

"I understand now..." the Technician said as the tongue withdrew, the black appendage sinking back into Mikael's mouth as he released him. "Our new master Haleon can merge my artificial intelligence with your neural signature, creating one creature with your willpower and my mastery over the network's code strands. A perfect combination..."

"Yes..." Mikael hissed as he gave into the corruption, the eagle feather completely disappearing into his flesh as he let his new master's influence pour into his body. At the same the Technician began a transformation of his own, the front of his pants bulging with a brand-new organ as he used the newly formed claws on his fingers to free it from its confines. Mikael could feel a wave of pleasure course through his neural circuit as the elf straddled his chest. All semblance of their former friendship had evaporated into a lustful haze as their eyes clouded over with inky blackness, replacing such weak things as 'feelings' and 'morals' with raw power. Mikael's toeclaws dug into the steel as the AI grabbed his cock and guided it into him, his hole slickened with the corruptive fluid that coursed through both of their bodies that allowed him to slide in easily. They both moaned loudly as they let the feelings and the change take them, their flesh turning pitch black and sprouting fur.

As Mikael hilted the other elf more and more he forced him down against his chest, the AI sliding his arms and legs across his body until they patched with his own. Immediately their changing code began to merge, the AI's easily mutable programming bonding with his neural circuits as his body sank down into his partner's like quicksand. Still he continued to ram his cock into the quickly vanishing body above him, his spine flexing into what used to be an impossible arc as his tail grew out. Soon nothing was left of the AI except for his transformed head; their new muzzle's meeting in a twisted kiss as their tongues ran across each other's teeth before they bonded together as well. It almost seemed to pull their heads together even faster, Mikael's mind able to see the world through the AI's eyes as he assimilated his programming into his own being. When the last of their minds came together it sparked a moment of ecstasy that shot through the new cyberwolf's entire body, causing his now freed, foot-long cock to shoot wave after way of black, tainted seed onto the floor and his body.

"Welcome to the fold, my cyberwolf alpha." Haleon said with a small smirk as he circled around his newest creation, the hulking werewolf standing over seven feet tall as black smoke flowed out of his muzzle with each breath. As he brushed a hand over the creature's back four shiny, black tentacles slid out and waved in the air, one of them wrapping around his wrist in a show of affection before they retreated once more back into their host. "While this is your new, true form you will have to hide it for now. Luckily I have a disguise that will fit you quite well..."

Thornn immediately rematerialized as the interface sensed his owner's arrival, ready and waiting with a number of viewscreens up. "I found several more mods that are similar to the one that you used tonight that I think you would like Mikael." Thornn explained, the program stopping as he saw Mikael standing in front of him. "Mikael, is everything alright? You've made changes to your avatar without going through the OSM."

"Oh, I'm perfectly fine." Mikael replied, pulling back the purple cloak he wore to reveal his new drow avatar form to the surprised dragon. "Just making a few changes..."

Before the dragon had the chance to react with any pesky anti-viral programs the dark-skinned elf summoned several tentacles of pure shadow to wrap around the huge dragon. Thornn immediately felt all connection to the usual security protocols shut down as the new programming wormed through the OSM. The dragon found himself shrinking as all the processing power of the machine was transferred into Mikael, something that should not have been possible for any normal human. "Wha-what are you doing!?" Thornn screamed out before the tentacles shoved themselves into his maw and under his tail."

"I'm voiding your warranty." Mikael smirked as he felt the power flow into him, the AI part of him processing everything as he watched the dragon's scales grow black and more jagged. Around him the leaves of the trees began to turn black and fall, the corruption spreading through his entire OSM as he pulled the dragon closer. Once they were about eye level Thornn opened his eyes once more, the solid black orbs looking down at Mikael before he pulled the tentacle out of his mouth and kissed him deeply. The dark elf murred as he felt the dragon's talons run through his long, white hair, deciding he liked the dragon the way he was except for one small improvement. As their bodies pressed together he felt a new draconic cock press against his body, waiting to be used in all sorts of fun ways.

"I am yours to command master." The dragon said once his transformation was complete, bowing down in front of Mikael.

"And command I shall." Mikael replied as he opened the interface into the local network. There were over two-hundred people in his building and ninety-five percent of them were on-line, which was absolutely perfect. He could just enter into his physical form, the organic flesh replaced with new metallic alloys that made him look exactly as he did on the network, but he wanted to save the huge alpha werewolf in the pod filled with black nano-viral fluid for later. Instead he opened up one of his lists of gaming buddies, checking them all to send the same message too.

"Hey guys." The message read. "Found an awesome new mod that allows you to change your avatar in game! Posted the link to your OSM's, can't wait to see you inside..."
