#1 of A Machines Love

This is just something my muse came up with when I got bored or wasn't writing enough to satisfy her, I don't really know. Anyways, here is just something new that I'm doing between uploads of my regular works.

Please comment so that I'll know if I should add this to my current works that I'm posting.

A MACHINES LOVE

CH. 1

"Damn him to ****!" I shouted as I kicked the tire for the 20th time. "All of this is his fault for keeping me up so late that I got too fatigued and had this accident!" I could feel the shirt I was wearing sticking to my skin as it was now soaked with perspiration and sweat from the blistering desert/summer sun. "If that fuck'n ass had just listened to me and sent me a load back to the yard, I could have gotten the repairs I needed and prevented all this mess from ever happening!" I don't know how long I ranted and raved there on the side of the road, as the engine of my rig smoked in the afternoon sun due to overheated engine, which was due to the broken fan belt. After an hour more of ranting at my dispatcher I finally calmed down a bit, thankful for the ranting as it 'did help' to calm me down, then took a long sigh and began to relax. Though as I sat down upon that of the doors step I quickly leapt up as the step had heated up to a scorching temperature and had found that my backside was just right for branding. No thanks to that too, I began anew of heated words of how I hated my life right then.

As the sun finally began to set the tow truck driver, which was specially designed for aid for Semi-Trucks, pulled up and began to look over my rig. By the way that he was taking his time, not to mention the smirk on his face; I knew that this was probably going to take a while. Once he'd practically crawled all over the engine compartment and beyond, he turned to me (While wiping his clean hands on a rag to add to the effect) and gave me a toothy/unhappy look. "Well...I hate to say this, but it looks like your rig is going to need some serious work." He went on to quote all this technical/mechanical jargon, and in his mind I could see the dollar signs stack up. It finally came down to the fact that he didn't have all the parts needed and he'd have to tow my rig into town and get it worked on.

Not having the best of technical jargon to banter back at the mechanic, not to mention that his paycheck wasn't going to come out of my wallet, I decided on the better part of valor and went with his assumption. Another thirty minutes later I saw him attach his lift to the rig, attach the chains around certain parts, and finally jumped in with him as we pulled away from the area and onwards towards his garage. By the time we reached his garage it was getting late and I was growing very tired. The mechanic was at least kind enough to at least point me towards that of the local motel/inn and told me their rates (Which weren't cheap but they were the only ones in that small town). With a heavy sigh and making sure to lock up the truck, as I really didn't trust the mechanic to steal anything from within the rig, I grabbed my clothing bag and such and checked into the motel.

Just like the mechanic, I could see the receptionist's eyes light up when I walked into the place and new that my wallet was about to get a whole lot lighter, but when I was told their rates I was also informed that the food was just as expensive. 'I might as well as hand over my credit card.' I thought as I finally paid for the room, got a few bites to eat of their meat loaf (Or at least that was what they called it), then hit the shower. Before I was able to finally pull the covers over my head and get some sleep, I was awoken by my phone going off and saw that it was my dispatcher. I really contemplated with how I was going to talk with him, but finally resolved myself to acting cool and getting this all out of the way.

"Yes Ralph...No, I didn't get a quote from the guy as his shop is closed for the night...There is only one motel in this place and I'm already checked in for the night...," Though try as I might I couldn't keep the rising anger in my tone of just hearing his voice, out of the conversation. "I've told you what the problem is already, but you didn't hear me...Yes I left you a message, several in fact...Phone and over the computer system...The company will be paying for my room and board for this right?" There came a long drawn out pause where I thought he'd hung up on me, but at the end he tried to play innocent but through another few choice sentences that I'd pre-rehearsed, he finally relented and agreed to front the money for it all. With all that taken care of I finally fell back onto my pillow, content in knowing that I'd gotten the better part of him that time, and then went over my check list for the next day.

"What do you mean it'll take a two weeks to get all this done?!" I demanded as I towered over the mechanic and looked down at his smug face as he looked up at me.

"That's what I just said," He pointed once again to the list that he'd handed me that next morning as I went in to talk with him and find out what was going to happen with my rig. "You can clearly see on this sheet the parts that are bad and need of replacing. Not to mention that we are...so...far out here that supplies don't come around all that quickly. You're lucky that I was able to get in your order at this time, as if you'd just been a day later then you'd have to wait at least another week for them."

I let out an angry growl at that thought, but knew that I didn't want him to tack on some more fees/days to the whole work that he was claiming that needed to be done. With that thought dropped in my mind, I dropped my head and shook it, while pinching the bridge of my nose to try and stave off a headache that I knew was short in coming. "Look pall, if it's any consolation to ya, I suggest heading on over to the local strip mall in town and relax there."

I wasn't really one for the whole strip mall thing, since it was more like a gaggle of street merchants that catered to every want/whim of a woman, especially to that of lightening her wallet/purse. Though still, I did have the next week or more to wait for parts, and it was unlikely that I'd find anything else around the area to pass the time, so I headed off towards the place (Turning down the offer from the mechanic to call a cab and take me). The walk would do me a world of good, to not only get some exercise but also to burn off some more of the anger that was building up inside me again. As I walked I did my best to try and stave off the anger to punch the nearest local who decided it'd be a good idea to either joke about my height or ask about it at the same time.

By the time I finally walked into the area that the strip mall was located, I found that my suspicions were correct about the types of stores that were located there. Most of the shops there in the strip mall were that of clothing stores, perfume shops, beauty parlors, and not a one that looked even remotely to interesting at that. 'Great,' I thought as I sat down on bench and hung my head, 'I'm stuck here for the next two weeks and they don't even have a decent movie joint to help pass at least a quarter of the day. I doubt they even have an arcade.' I brooded for another few minutes until something started slapping against my boot. Opening my eyes, expecting to find some kind of small animal pissing on me or something else to fit my predicament, I came to see what appeared to be some kind of flier.

Picking up the piece of paper I flipped it over and began to read. 'New store opening', were posted in bright/bold colors. 'Come check out our selection of authentic, one of a kind, merchandise.' "For a flier that looks a bit beaten up, it sure knows how to advertise." I said to no one as I looked down a little further to see a name or location of the 'New/one of a kind store'. Though there was no address or such on the thing, my mind was rationalizing that this paper had to come from somewhere close, and since I didn't have anything better to do I headed off to the far end of the strip mall.

By the time I'd gotten to the last store of the place my feet were beginning to ache and I was about ready to give up on the place, though just as I thought about turning around I saw something that matched the same color scheme as the flier. 'About time I found this place, though it is a bit strange to find this place at the furthest end of this place.' With a final sigh of relief I turned to face the place and took a look at it through its windows. The windows were done in what appeared to be some kind of shadow-box look and within that they had their merchandise. "This looks like one of those stuff toy places that doubles as a party store." I said aloud as within the window/shadow-box there were several stuffed animals that looked almost life size as well as several different balloons that were done up like the ones you'd find at Disney Land, with their mickey mouse ears. Though as I was about to turn away and start looking for something else to occupy my two weeks I looked out of the corner of my eye and gave the place a final look.

"Oh...what the hell. Why not?" I said under my breath as I dropped my shoulders, and headed back to the entrance of the place. When I opened the door and took a look inside, I confirmed my suspicions of the place once being that of a party store, converted to that of a plush toy store. Racks upon racks were laden with several different types of plush toys, mostly ranging from that of teddy bears to more exotic mythical creatures. Though what really caught my eye and caused me to step a little further into the place, was how detailed these actually were. 'I've seen some stuffed critters in my time, but these are on a whole different level. It looks like they were done with a very fine hand.' As I walked up to the first row of critters to take a look at the selection, I also noticed that not only did they have the normal critters, but upon other rows they had ones from several kid shows as well.

After a quick glance at the first row of normal stuff, I walked to the next row and smiled. There were several different show critters, Pokémon, Digimon, Yu-Gi-Oh, etc... Or more precisely, Pikachu, Guilmon, Blue Eyes White Dragon, etc... I couldn't help but smile at looking at the craftsmanship of each and even found a few from a few shows that I used to watch when I was into those kinds of shows. I was looking over what appeared to be a nicely done Riolu when I heard the sound of some kind of shuffling and turned to see where it'd come from. An old man was just coming out from behind some door behind the register and carrying a couple more plush animals out. We both stopped right there and as I was about to say something the old man just smiled and continued to the other row with the regular stuffed animals.

"It seems that my little store has caught your eye, young man." Said the old man in a bit of a wheezy voice, as if he was a bit short or hard of breath. "Though, I do have to confess a curiosity." He then came around the row and stopped at the end to look at me. "I do not get many out of towners here at my shop. Where might you be from?"

Normally, having someone come up to you while your browsing in a kiddy store will make you feel a bit ashamed, but this man didn't seem to put me in that embarrassing kind of mood/feeling. Maybe it was just the way he seemed to have a kind smile, or had come across customers like myself in the past. Either way, I felt a bit at peace with him standing there and returned the smile. "From Southern California originally, but stuck here until the mechanic fixes my rig and I'll be back on the road again."

The man gave me a knowing nod and smiled again. "A rig driver then. Bet you've seen some sights out there then." With that said the two of us began to talk, and as we did we walked back over to the register. After a while I was beginning to feel really relaxed about our conversation and began to talk more openly about life on the road, but as I continued to tell him on how long or the time between when I was able to get some time off from the rigs I could see a bit of sadness in his wrinkly face. "That must be quite the lonely life out there. Don't you have someone to go home to?" To which I shook my head.

"Not really. Most rig drivers go home to their wives or families, but I really don't have either." I rolled my hand a bit in the air to indicate that it really wasn't that big of a deal. "I mean, I do have a small family to see every once in a while, but it's not like I 'have to' see them every week."

The old man's eyes seemed to lose a bit of their shine at that and he shook his head. "Be as it may, you should at least have someone there to help you pass the time." Though just as he said that a small figurine started to move and the sound of what appeared to be some kind of flute began to play. When I turned to find out where the music was coming from I noticed that it was coming from what appeared to be an alarm clock, though to match the stores theme the clock was done up in what appeared to be some kind of mechanized Lugia figurine. Like most Lugia memorabilia, the thing was about seven or either inches high or since it was a mechanical figurine a few of its limbs moved along with the music.

Though as I tried to figure out where the music was coming from I saw the man reach out and lightly stroke the top of the things head, to which caused its mouth to slowly close and as it did so the music came to a slow stop. "Sorry about that. She often does that when it comes to the top of the hour or such." I slowly turned to look at him and raised an eyebrow as if expecting to hear more about the strange figurine but none came. We looked at each other for a bit more then he finally let out a breath and nodded. "I think that she's lonely. Many a time people will come into my shop but none seem interested in her."

I turned and looked back to the unusual clock and took a closer look at it. I'd once seen the Pokémon movie, starring that of the legendary Lugia, but this one seemed a bit off. Unlike that of the typical blue and white Lugia, this one appeared to be the shadow version of water/legendary bird. "I have to confess that it may have been my own fault back then," I looked up at him in confusion. "I think something got in the mix of metal and turned her into what you see before you."

I found it strange that he kept on referring to the Lugia alarm clock as a female, but when you usually put as much work into something as artisans do, then they usually get to know the thing on a more...heart felt level. Though as I looked once more at the thing I too began to see some differences in the design that started to peak out to me a bit. Instead of the usual slanted triangle eyes of a male Lugia, this one had one that was more of a smoothed out diamond shape, and had what appeared to be some kind of small eyelashes towards the back of the upper eyelid. To say the least it was the eyes that really did it for me and as I looked closer I also noticed that it didn't have the red eyes but rather the soft blues of the typical Lugia. I guess you can say that this piece was like the heartless Lugia from the game, but was on its way to becoming re-united with its heart.

It was only a moment later that I was brought out of my trance by the old man, when he politely cleared his throat. It was also at that moment that I realized that I'd also reached forward with that of a single finger and was lightly scratching the thing under its chin, almost as if... "Sorry about that. I don't know what came over me there." I sat back down on my barstool and took a slow breath. 'Why was I reaching out to it?' I wondered, but after shaking my head to clear it I turned back to the man. I was taken aback a bit when I noticed that he had what appeared to be some kind of pleased smile on his face.

"I think that that was the most attention that she's gotten since she's been here." A slight chuckle could be heard from him, but though that too would have unnerved me it was more like one of those contented chuckles.

"Right...well, I think I've probably taken up enough of your time," I said as I got off my stool and reached forward to shake his hand. "But I think it's time for me to go." Though as I said that I could have sworn I heard what appeared to be some kind of whimper come from somewhere.

"Well...," The old man slowly rose up from his own stool with a bit of a grimace, as if the act of moving in the slightest pained him, and nodded to me once he'd come around from behind the counter. "I have to say that I enjoyed our little conversation. Though I...we do wish that you could have stayed longer." I caught him looking out of the corner of his eye at the Lugia then turned to look back up at me.

Not knowing what he was meaning by that I took a quick look at the Lugia figurine and saw that somehow the thing had changed slightly. Instead of looking at where I'd been sitting on the barstool a moment earlier, it had turned its neck to the side to where I now stood, as if the tiny thing was tracking me. But the strangest thing of all was when I looked into its eyes once more, I could've sworn that they looked a bit moist now. Shaking my head a bit, trying to shake out the thought of that even being a possibility, I turned back to the old man and gave him a nice smile. "Same here." Though before I could offer out my hand to shake his, he turned and looked towards the figurine and cocked his head to the side, to which made me think he was listening to something I couldn't hear.

I looked back and forth between him and the figurine a few times, but stopped when I saw him nod to it and then turn back to look up at me. "I was just wondering...," He then rubbed the backside of his hand under his chin then put both of his hands back behind himself. "Would you be interested in taking her off my hands?"

"Huh?"

"I have seen many a person come into my shop and not a one has paid as much attention to her as you have." He then walked back behind the counter once more and turned the figurine fully to face me. "You would be doing me a great service by taking her home with you and giving her a better home than the one that she's had here."

It was at this time I began to get a little weirded out, and at that I just wanted to slowly back away and get out of there. But when I looked down at the figurine once more it seemed as if the design of the thing had changed once more, and now its face had turned from a neutral one to one of longing, maybe even...pleading.

Needless to say, by the time I walked out of there, I was carrying a small sack that contained my new Dark Lugia alarm clock.

(Some Time Later)

After taking a quick shower and having a small dinner, that I'd purchased at a dollar store, since I really didn't want to run through my funds all that quickly in this expensive town, I sat down upon the side of the bed and looked at my new Lugia alarm clock that sat proudly/happily on the nightstand next to my bed. "How did I get talked into buying something when I'm trying to make sure I don't run through my funds to quickly in this backwater town?" Though as I thought back to when I'd done the purchase I really couldn't complain. All the man had really asked for was just to make sure that I took good care of the Lugia alarm clock and give her a good home. Not even a cent was asked for in the purchase of the small thing, just a promise. "This town just gets stranger and stranger." I said aloud as I leaned back and propped myself up by using my arms as a brace, though as I did so I felt something under my palm and furrowed my brow in confusion.

When I looked over my shoulder at what I'd just touched, I found that there was some kind of pamphlet there. 'Now where did that come from?' I wondered as I turned so that I was now resting my back against the headboard and feet up on the bed sheets. With that done I picked up the pamphlet and looked down at the thing. "Care and maintenance of your new Lugia Alarm Clock." I said aloud as I read the front cover of what I guessed was the maintenance manual. Though as I'd seen numerous amounts of these things in many of the electronic packages I'd purchased in the past, to which I'd thrown many of them away without reading them, something told me that I should look/read into this one.

Much of the stuff had to do with general maintenance, don't keep her in direct sunlight, a bit of oil here and there to keep her joints limber, etc... 'Wait a minute...her? There it is again.' I thought as I scrunched up the side of my face a bit in confusion then turned to look over at the Alarm Clock. "He really thinks you're a she." Though I thought that that was fairly silly, I found myself chuckling as I stroked the thing just under its chin. I did that for only a few moments while laughing at the idea that the thing was really a she, before turning back to look at the pamphlet. The last thing I read, before I headed off to bed, was that she was also able to keep perfect time, no matter what time zone I was in and that I'd discover quite a few new things about her as time went on.

The next morning I was awoken to the sound of the Lugia alarm clock going off, but instead of the usual/annoying beeping sound, it was actually playing the tune from the movie. Looking on over to the thing I noticed that once again that the Lugia had its mouth open and the soft melody was coming from within, and as it sang the melody the wings would move, the head would bob ever so slightly, and the time embedded into the rock that the Lugia stood upon was flashing. 'It looks almost like the thing's singing.' I thought, but as I thought about that I also wondered something else. 'Wait a minute; I don't remember setting that thing.' I then slowly turned towards it and gave it a curious glance. As I continued to ponder if I'd set the thing the night previous, I swung my legs off the side and sat up to face it.

As I continued to think/wonder if I'd set the thing last night I slowly drew closer and closer to it till I was nearly nose to nose with it. Though as I finally gave up on wondering if I'd set it, I then began to wonder how I'd turn it off. But as I was running my finger over the thing I began to notice that it was starting to loose the song and...twitch. 'What in the...,' I was interrupted in my inspection of the thing when my phone began to vibrate on the opposite nightstand and I quickly jumped over to the other side of the bed to grab it.

As it turned out it was my dispatcher calling to find out or get an update on the repairs of my rig. Before I answered him I took one last long look at the Alarm Clock, that had now shut itself off, and then turned back to answer or keep my dispatcher up to date. Once that was done I closed my phone and set it back down upon the nightstand. "Well...I might as well go see what these guys have got for a continental breakfast."

A little while later I returned to my room, snickering with a sly grin on my face, as I had two large plates full of pancakes and eggs. "If they are going to charge me an arm and a leg for this place, then I might as well get my money's worth." But when I opened up my door I dropped my food and stared on in shock. Standing at the far side of the room was the mechanic holding onto a large sack with his left hand and in his right was the Lugia Alarm Clock. I didn't know how long the two of us stared at each other, but when the Alarm Clock let out what sounded like some kind of wail, I practically flew right into action.

A few minutes and several bruises later, found the mechanic unconscious on the ground and me sporting a split lip, black eye, and a dislocated shoulder. "Damn ass-hole. I can't believe that he just tried to steal from me." With a final kick to the gut, to which I hoped that I bruised something internally, I then walked around and started looking for the bag I'd seen him stuffing my things into. It was only then that I realized that even though I'd found the bag and all, I couldn't find that of the Lugia Alarm clock. "That's weird; I know he had it in his hand when I came into my room." I looked about the room once more until I began to hear what sounded like someone was sobbing. 'Probably that mechanic.' But as I listened a bit more through my search I found that it wasn't coming from where the mechanic lay, rather from somewhere near the bed.

Though as I checked around the bed for the third time, not finding anything, my brain finally clicked and I got down on my hands and knees to peer underneath the bed. I didn't know what exactly I was looking for when I peered under there, but as I did I finally found the Lugia Alarm Clock that I was searching for, but as I reached under there for it a sharp and shrill voice cried out. "Stay away!"

Needless to say I froze on the spot and felt my eyes go wide. "What in the..." I slowly pulled back my hand and peered deeper underneath the bed. Though the light was poor, since the sun hadn't risen high enough yet to illuminate my room that faced the opposite direction the sun rises to, I was still able to see the small metallic sheen of the Lugia. "Probably just hearing things since that guy got a lucky shot to my ear." With another shake of my head to try and get my head back on right, I reached back underneath the bed to grab the thing out. But just as I wrapped my hands around the thing I quickly jerked back as I felt the thing struggle in my grip.

"Don't touch me!" The voice yelled which caused me to blanch once again and slowly pull my arm out from underneath the bed.

'You have got to be kidding me.' I thought as the notion that was running through my head was making me think the impossible. In order to see what'd just struggled within my grasp I pulled out my keychain flashlight and aimed it into the darkness, but what I saw when I clicked on the light seemed to take my breath away. Using its overly large metallic hands/wings to cover over its eyes at it sobbed in fear was my small Lugia from my alarm clock. With every small sob the little metal/dark Lugia's body would shiver a bit and through all that I couldn't help but stare at the animated/moving form.

"Its...it's not possible." Ever so slowly the flashlight dropped out of my hand and made a small clink sound as it hit the floor and turned itself off in the process. From either the sound of the flashlight turning itself off or just the light going dark, the small metallic Lugia stopped its crying and looked up at me. The two of us just stared at each other for a brief moment before the Mechanical Lugia let out one last wail and then launched itself at me. "CRUD!"

Though before I could do anything to avoid the thing it collided with my chest and sent the two of us rolling backwards across the floor, only to end up with me on my back and the thing crying into my chest. I was so stunned by all of this I just lay there, my hands palm down on the floor, while the rest of me just staid stock still on the floor. For the longest time I just lay there, lying upon my back staring at something on my chest that had no feasible way of existing. I mean, I wasn't any form a mechanic, but the principal of the whole thing didn't seem possible. Modern science wasn't advanced enough for some backwater town's plush/toy store to be selling, let alone giving away, an autonomous/robotic/living thing. It may have been quite a while for me, but a few seconds later, the distraught metallic Shadow Lugia finally stopped sobbing and just lay there against my chest.

"When that bad man came in here, I was so scared. I knew the rules, one must never move unless under extreme distress or by thy owners will. But when he picked me up I was about to scream and run away. But when you came back and attacked that bad man I broke the rules and hid under the bed." The little thing blurted in a voice that sounded slightly distraught and predictably metallic, but through all of that its voice sounded slightly feminine.

I don't know how long I stared down at the thing, but when it raised its head and looked up at me with its watery eyes, I lost it. With a yell of my own, I swept the thing right off of my chest, and quickly back up (Onto to stop when my head and back hit the side wall.) I ignored the pain of my body for a bit as my whole body began to shake and I was only able to babble out a few frightened words. "WH...what the hell are you?!" It was like my whole body was on one of those old 1980 belly fat machines, the ones that put a belt around your middle and gives you the shake of your life. Thought through all that I didn't take my eyes off the little thing for a moment.

In my frightened state, I'd flung the little thing practically the whole entire way across the room and the thing had crashed into the wall. When it'd hit said wall the sound was like someone hitting the wall with a sledge hammer. I watched as the thing looked over at me with wide eyes and it just hung there, upside down, for a moment then gravity seemed to function once again as the little metal/metallic Lugia fell to the floor and land in a heap. I watched it for a while and I would've laughed at how its lower body jerked every once in a while as it'd landed on its head, for not the fear and terror that was plaguing my mind.

In the past I'd seen and read many stories about how things would start out like this. A small creature from space would land on earth, act all cute and cuddly, then when you least expected it...ATTACK! I had to admit that those late night TV shows had plagued my young/youthful mind with horrors throughout my youth and here it was in real life. It only frightened me more when the thing toppled the rest of the way over and quickly stood back up.

"Mast...Oh no. I broke the second rule." Said the little thing as it quickly covered over its mouth with both its overly large wings/hands and its eyes went wide. The two of us just stared at one another for the longest time, neither one of us really making a move to prompt the other, but that all changed when there came a loud banging on the door to my motel room.

"What the hell is going on in here? There had better not be anything fishy going on in there." Even though the sound of the voice was muffled from the door, I could still tell that the voice was that of the motel's manager. Quickly distracted I turned towards the door, but my attention quickly zipped back to the little/metal Lugia. The two of us just stared at one another for a bit before the sound of keys jingling could be heard. "What the heck is going on in there? If I don't get an answer and 'NOW', I'm going to come in there and look for myself." The manager's voice sounded very insistent and I knew that if I didn't answer then there'd be trouble, but as I turned to look back at the metallic Lugia, all I saw was it's tail as it quickly scampered across the room and disappear back underneath the bed.

There came another loud banging sound at the door and my attention was once again back on the door. It didn't stay there long as my mind must have started working again and I realized the bigger situation I was in. I had an unconscious mechanic in my room, who had been attempting to steal me blind, and somehow I'd have to explain it all to the manager. Not to mention I had a living/mechanical Lugia running around in here as well. It wasn't until I heard a whimpering sound that my attention moved away from the door.

A small head was peeking out from under the bed and I could see a very frightened expression on it's face. "Please, don't tell anyone about me. If you do, I'll be in so much trouble." The little face did a double take between me and the door, only to settle on looking back at me. I could easily see that the little thing was frightened and with that of a puppy dog look it begged. "I promise to explain everything, but you must not tell anyone about me. Please, I don't want to go back to that store again."

It was my turn to do a double take that time, between the little face and the door, but instead of settling on the thing I stared at the door. I could see the doorknob beginning to turn and knew that it would only be moments before that door opened and the manager would walk right in. Quickly turning back to it I screwed up my face. 'I know that I'm probably going to regret this.' "Then stay put, and don't come out." With a quick nod, the little face quickly ducked back under the bed.

It was a couple of hours later that things had finally quieted down and I was able to finally take a long and relieving breath. When the manager had seen the position I was in, as well as the mechanic, he'd quickly rushed right out of the room and dialed the local police. A short time later found me being questioned by the local '5.0.' and the unconscious form of the mechanic being carted away to the nearby hospital. It didn't come to that big of a surprise that I was being threatened for brutality of the mechanic, but when I'd showed them my own injuries as well as pointed out the fact that the mechanic didn't have any right to be here in the first place, they dropped their accusations and said that I was in the right for defending my property from a would be thief. It was either that or it was when I threatened them that if they tried to pin something on me that I'd hire some big shot lawyer and sue this place for nearly every penny it had.

Needless to say it all took the better part of three hours before my room was finally empty and I was able to sit back in the chair and breathe a little easier. The adrenaline that'd been pumping through my system had finally wound down, and the pain of my injuries was coming back, but when they'd opted to take me to the local hospital to get my injures attended to, free of charge of course, I'd denied that and said that they'd be hearing from a layer before I even stepped out of this room. I knew that they were going to try and do something to bribe me, but I wasn't going to have any of it. A bribe at this moment would really hurt my chances of a lawsuit and I was defiantly going to be paying this place back for everything they'd put me through.

It was a small clicking sound that I heard that brought me out of my peaceful rest and I turned to see that it was the small/metallic Lugia poking her/it's head out from underneath the bed. "Is it over? Are they gone?" It/she asked as her head swiveled around to scan the room for a bit before finally settling on looking up at me. I'd forgotten about the little thing in all the confusion and mess of dealing with the police and such, so it came to no surprise when I looked down at the thing with a shocked expression. I probably would have done more than look down at it in shock, but the pain from my injuries and the loss of adrenaline had left me weak and wanting nothing more than to just lie down on the bed and fall asleep.

Seeming to find the place to it's liking now, as the room was finally devoid of everyone except the two of us, it crawled out from under the bed and waddled on over to sit next to the chair. The two of us just stared at one another for quite a while before I let out the breath I'd been holding. "You're not afraid of me anymore?" She asked in her squeaky/metallic/feminine voice.

"I'm too tired to be afraid." I replied to it as I sunk a little deeper into the chair and allowed both my arms to hang limply at my sides while my head drooped over it's back. "I don't even think a gunshot will get me out of this chair." Though as I said that a loud thump was heard and I quickly looked up to see that the Metal Lugia land on top of the table and turn to face me. She seemed a bit shy about something and as her wings/hands rubbed against one another, her head refused to look up from the table's surface.

"Then I guess, it's time for me to explain some things."

'Ya think.'
