The Voyage: A joint venture by Raven Fox and Shetland: An abused teenage boy runs away from home to hide from his father. While hiding in the woods a spacecraft lands nearby with a couple of canine gals. After touring their craft, it warps across the galaxy. It will take them a year and a half to get back. (This is an idea me and my bud Shetland was planning after End of an Era and he gave the rough draft of chapter one... ENJOY:) RAVEN FOX.)

Snohomish city Washington.

William the brown hair seventeen old teenage boy hardly flinched when the spiked belt of his stepfathers' whipped his back for the fourth time. The reason for this beating was he allowed the screen door to slam shut when he came home from school. Two weeks ago, his stepfather Rodger beat the shit of him when bad mouthed him when Rodger called his mother a worthless tramp.

The skinny older human male leered at him and went back to his bedroom. William flinched as his put back on his shirt thinking of ways of getting even with him.

Rodger isn't his real father, his real father died a few years ago in Iraq by an IED at a town in that country. "I don't remember the name of that town, because if my father wasn't there, I won't be getting the shit beat out of me every two weeks. Dad, why did you get yourself killed, if you were still here, Shawn will be still alive." William thought to himself quietly walking to his room.

Shawn was his younger brother by two years, a year ago, he died. His mother told him that he fell off a ladder causing him to die. The young human male smelled a rat at that excuse. Nothing didn't happen to his stepfather.

That night the same house.

William packed the last item in his backpack thinking to himself. He patched the wounds on his back earlier and packed some extra bandages. The young human male quietly walked out of the house and changed his mind.

Looking at the 1993 Honda Civic, he placed the backpack on the hood. He walked back in the house.

Rodger woke up not able to breathe, the hands are remove from his mouth and nose. A sharp pain hit his nose busting it. "That's for what you did to me two weeks ago you fucking drunk!!" A voice filled with hate said to him as he is hit a few times.

William is looking at the bloodied face of his stepfather seeing the blood streaming from the nostrils. He didn't feel any guilt of what he is doing to the wretch that is lying beneath him. Still showing no pity, the young human delivered a series of blows till the form quit moving. Taking a hand, he still felt a pulse and air blowing on his hand. William got off his step father and looked for the keys the Honda finding them. He doubled his fist and punched Rodger in the balls while walking out of the room.

Hours later in the mountains.

He found a place to lie low for the time being. William unpacked the tent and set it up at a cleared area. Grinning, the young human male put all his packed stuff inside the tent and looked outside remembering that he stashed the car at the trail head.

At the same moment, lunar orbit.

The female anthropomorphic sable colored collie gazed at the computer display with her hazel colored eyes. She brushed a wisp of auburn colored head hair off her long muzzle. "Riku, please come over here. I am getting a warning light from the main power source."

An artic vixen walked up looking at the readout studying the warning. "The core is overheating. We have to land the ship or the core will get damaged." She replied looking at her friend and at the Earth in the distance. "Have no choice but to land on that planet Sera."

The collie looks at the Earth sighing. "I'll set the ship down in a wooded area and engage the cloaking device at low power. Got to watch out for any furrys, we might get a few marriage proposals." Sera look at the vixen grinning. "You will get more than me because vixens are more popular."

Riku chuckled looking at the collie with her green catlike eyes with gold streaking in the irises. "Got to tell them that I have a mate at home. Let's keep an eye on that core temperature and do an inspection after we land."

The ship shimmered as the cloaking device engaged and headed to the blue green orb of the planet Earth hanging in space.

One day later, Williams' hiding place in the woods.

William was about to go to sleep when he heard a strange sound coming from the nearby clearing. He got out of the tent and saw some lights descending. Due to the moonless night, the human male couldn't see the rest of the craft.

Minutes later, he saw two silver suited figures exited the craft walking around inspecting the ship. When he gotten closer to the craft, his mouth dropped open when he gotten a closer look of the figures. "Anthropomorphic female canines, a collie and a vixen" William said quietly to himself as he crept closer to the craft.

Riku looked at the side of their ship inspecting the outside structure. The vixen saw no outside damage to the ship. She smelled something nearby, gesturing to Sera. "There's a human nearby." Whispered Riku to the collie who nodded.

William watched as the collie figure disappeared behind the ship. The human crept closer to the craft to get a better look of the vixen. He felt a set of strong hands grabbing him with the scent of a large dog. One thing he notices was the familiar softness of female breasts pressing behind him.

A female voice whispered to him. "You're coming with me human."

William yelped as a wound on his back was pulled opening it. The grip on him relaxed, but he still can't escape the female canine clutches. If he wasn't injured, the human would have escaped. His right arm has that tingling feeling all the way to his fingers. "I'll come with you peacefully." William said to the collie.

Riku smiled at her friend as the collie dragged a skinny human male with brown hair. She bared her teeth. "I told you not to injure him." The vixen saw blood on the humans' right arm.

Sera let go of William looking at the fresh blood seeping thru the back of the shirt he's wearing. She went to look at him seeing him cower from her. "Please let me check you out." The collie said to the human.

William looked at the female canines removing his shirt. He hears a predatory growl from one of the females and a gasp horror from the collie. The human has just found out who was the deadliest out of both of them when he heard the vixen replied. "Who did this to you human?"

Riku examined the long open wounds on the humans' skinny back. She felt roiling hot anger in her gut watching as Sera tended the wounds that were getting infected. The vixen made a vow that whoever done this thing to this young human will pay dearly.

William flinched as the collie did something to his back. The tingling feeling went away from his right arm. He told his story to the female canines seeing the collie starting to cry and a predatory look on the vixen.

"What about your mother?" Asked Sera.

"She works a lot of hours and he broke her sprit. My mother doesn't do anything for me and I know he killed my younger brother." William replied to Sera watching as the vixen paced looking at the ship.

Riku stopped pacing and turned to William. "How about you board our ship and after we fix it. We will drop you off to someone you trust."

The human looked at the white color vixen examining her white coloring with black socks and gloves. "I have these cousins who live in Wyoming; I can get them to adopt me."

The vixen nodded and looks at Sera. "Alright, I think the problem is in the inside, so we will take a look of the core and do any repairs and drop our guest off at his cousins." Riku looked at the woods. "After that, I am going to visit a certain step father." She whispered to herself.

William grinned as he entered the ship ascending the ramp into the ship. Examining his surroundings, the human looked at the inside. Sighing, the young human was disappointed because the inside of the ship reminded him of the interior of a submarine. Before his real dad died, one of hid cousins took him on a tour of the submarine he was station on before he retired from the U. S. Navy.

Sera followed a few steps from the young human still feeling guilty of aggravating his existing injuries. She knew if William told Riku where his stepfather lived there will be another human being put away in a mental hospital. The collie knew that this human male isn't a member of the furry community due to his body language. "Plus he's keeping his distance from Riku." Sera thought to herself and flinched remembering the injuries she just treated on the human.

Riku ducked thru a round hatch looking back to William as she went thru. She thought the human cute, but timid due to the abuse he must have gone thru. "I am going to have Sera do a full examination on him after we fix the problem with the core." The vixen felt that hot anger in her gut remembering the deep gashes on Williams' back. Riku loathe it when an adult inflicts serious injuries on a kit. She can tell that William must be in his teens by his looks. "To young for me." The vixen thought to herself as she opened the hatch to the engineering space.

William was again disappointed when he walked in the space. Inside the bright lit space was a few panels on a wall with something that looked like a heat exchanger dominating the space with pipes coming out of it. He watched as the vixen went to a cabinet and took out a device that looked like a large multi meter.

Riku hooked up the tester examining the readout. "Sera, hand me a couple of spanner wrenches. The coolant flow valve is out of adjustment."

William watched as Sera handed a couple of strange looking wrenches to the vixen. He watched as the vixen worked on a valve with a couple of wires attached to it. Then the vixen swung the larger wrench to the valve. The valve made a sound like someone farting under water.

Riku looked at William grinning. "Sometimes a good old hit on the part does wonders." She said to the human putting away the tools.

William chuckled from the vixens' remark when the ship shuddered. "Jump engine activated. Commencing jump in fifteen seconds." Said a female voice.

"No! We can't jump in a planets' atmosphere. It will throw off the jump." Sera said throwing large switches on the wall to the off position.

William watched as the female canines threw switches. He heard a sound of something winding up. The last thing he heard before he passed out from the event was Riku shouting. "Sera close the boarding ramp!"

Unknown time later.

Hazel colored eyes looked at him with a bright light shining at him. He went to sit up, but a white furred hand restrained him. "You were a little close to the core when the jump engine activated. The other thing that causes you to pass out was missing nutrients. When was the last time you ate?" Asked Sera.

"Was in the afternoon, I am down to eating two meals a day. Got to watch my figure." William said patting his really skinny abdominal area.

The collie looked at him like a mother scolding a pup. She knew that this young human is undernourished. If he keeps this up, he'll have some serious problems later in life. Right now she can see his ribs sticking out of his chest.

Riku walked in the medical bay with a furious look. When she saw Williams' condition, her mood darkens. "Got some bad news and some really bad, bad news." She saw her words sink in. "The jump engine is useless, we're down to using the hyper drive."

"What do you mean we're down to using the hyper drive?" Sera asked.

The vixen sighed looking at William. "The computer that controls the jump engine is fried. It suffered a power surge and the memory chips are damaged. We're down to using the back up computer and it's not fast enough to control the jump engine. So we're down to using the hyper drive." Riku looked at Sera. "The really bad, bad news is. It's going to take a year and a half to get back in our section to the galaxy."

William just looked at the vixen with a shock look. "What about food and what ever this ship uses for energy?"

Riku grinned. "Your planet isn't the only one to support life like our own home world. We'll just stop at some planets and gather food or hunt. As for energy for this ship, it burns a common mineral, plus we have some spare parts and the means to make parts. This is an easy ship to maintain, plus it was recently in the yards and went thru an overhaul a month ago."

"When you get back to your section of the galaxy, I would have a talk with the yard bird who worked on the computer." William said to the vixen. He saw her nodding in agreement.

Sera just sat looking at William and her best friend. She saw that the human didn't seem upset in the current situation. He seems happy about being stranded at a section of the galaxy that her species hadn't explored yet.

"I am going to the control room and set a course to our section of the galaxy." Riku shrugged and walked out.

Sera touch William on the shoulder feeling the human flinching. She withdrew her hand watching him getting off the examination bed.

William stood on the floor feeling a wave of dizziness looking around the small compartment. He saw the same layout as he saw on that sub in another time when he was younger. The human looked at the collie keeping her distance from him. "Can I see the control room?"

Sera nodded and beckon him to follow her forward.

He followed her forward down a narrow passageway to the control room. A minute later, he entered a small space with a three chairs in it. Riku was examining a screen with a determined look on her features.

The vixen looked at them pointing at a section on the screen. "We're here Sera, not much is known about this section of the galaxy."

William studied the read out and watches as Riku scrolled the screen. "I guess that was the area I am from." He replied noting the distance.

Riku looked at the human nodding. "If we still had our computer capability we would be back in our sector in hours instead of months."

"Can the computer be repaired?" William asked the vixen cautiously.

Riku smiled. "There's nothing I can do about because we don't have parts and it takes a yard to do those repairs. Plus we don't have the means to make the chips."

William sighed listening to the distant hum of the ships' engines. He looked around again and saw that there is no means of an outside view. "How do you see what's outside?" The human asked.

Sera walked to one of the chairs sitting on it threading her bushy tail thru a slot in the back of the chair. The collie flipped a switch on the chair arm and a holographic image appeared in front of her showing a view of the outside. She gestured for William to sit near her.

Glancing at the holo image, the human saw empty space with stars in the distance. William smiled as a planet came in view. "Can we land on that?" He asked Riku.

The vixen looked at the screen in front of her shaking her head brushing a strand of blonde colored head hair. "No, not without a spacesuit. It's -50 degrees with one percent oxygen." She types on the screen. "This one is like your planet Earth. It has what we need for fuel and supplies, plus its two days away. Gives us time to teach you how to fly our shuttle." Riku grins at him. "I just have gotten data from the long range scanners. This planet is inhabited by beings like you, so we can't land there."

William nodded in agreement looking at the planet. "Ok, I better get to know this shuttle of yours." The human said feeling excitement that he's going to go on another planet flying a shuttle like in the series Star Trek.

Two days later entering the planets atmosphere.

William held the control yoke and engaged the auto pilot as the shuttle shuddered as the upper atmosphere buffed the craft. He grumbled as the auto pilot leveled the craft. When he first saw it in the hanger bay, the human expected to see a sleek craft. Instead, a boxy looking craft sitting on landing skids with two top mounted engines. The cockpit has a couple of LCD panels with throttles and a control yoke of an airliner.

After the shuttle started the fly level, he engaged the cloaking device to start looking for an isolated area to land the shuttle. "I'll look for a deposit and find a place to land." He thought to himself.

Minutes later, at a clearing.

Breathing the air in his lungs, he walked toward the mountain peak in the distance. William knew it would take an hour to get to the mountain, another hour to mine the twenty pounds of minerals to fuel the ship and another hour to get back to the shuttle. "Just in time for cornflakes." The human thought to himself with a grin, wondering if those two canine females hear of cornflakes.

He likes the collie, but the vixen seems to scares the crap out of him. William knew a dangerous person when he saw one. Riku in his opinion is a dangerous female and he knew if she was alone with his stepfather, one of them will take a trip to the hospital and it won't be that vixen. "She has that look of my cousin Wayne at Shawn's' funeral when he was looking at Rodger. I am just tempted to give her my home address." The human thought to himself as something hit him in the back of the head knocking him out.

Unknown time later.

William woke up with his shoulders feeling like their being pulled out of his sockets. Opening his eyes a crack to examine his surroundings; he noted that he's tied to a pole being carried like a dead animal.

A male human walking next to him looked at him. "Well, the slave is awake." He said cheerfully. His captor is with four other humans dressed in crude outfits made of animal skins.

"I am nobody's slave!" William said aloud earning a blow to the side of his face.

"Shut up slave, those are whip marks on your back. I think you escape from somebody, bet there is a reward for your return and I Brett will claim that reward." He hits William again causing him to blackout again.

That night, William woke up seeing Brett and the other humans dead with their throats slit. He noticed that his hands are freed along with his ankles. The human looked around the camp site wondering if his situation just gotten worse.

"I just really hate it when an adult beats up a kit. Those fiends don't deserve to breathe the same air as I. What is your name kit?" Said a female voice from the shadows.

"My name is William, what is yours?" He asked looking for the source of the voice. "Who else is with you?"

"It's not intelligent answering a question with a question. I am really surprised that you humans are a little ahead of my species. As for my name, it's Joan. One other thing, I did all of this work to get you free. A human has no chance against me in a fight." Joan said as she walked out of the shadow in to the firelight.

William just stared at the anthropomorphic vixen walking toward him. He just found a female canine more dangerous than Riku.

Riku is an artic vixen with black socks and gloves with long blonde head hair to the middle of her back. But Joan is a reddish brown with brown socks and gloves with dark gray below her muzzle to her neck. A white pattern starts at her neck going down the front of her body.

Joan doesn't have long head hair, but instead she has thick slightly long mane at her neck. When he looked on some furry web sites, some artists drew something like that mane on some drawings on female anthropomorphic wolves.

The female canines on the ship have human like feet making them wear a slip on shoes. This vixen has what the furry community calls digit- grade feet, meaning that she walks on her toes giving her feet the appearance of large canine feet.

Riku and Sera seem human like, but Joan seem feral to him. The vixen looked at him gray cat like eyes with silver coloring in the irises. "So, do I let you live or do you join this bunch?"

William looked at the vixen kneeling in front of him looking at him never taking her eyes off him. He told her about his life after his mom remarried and what he went thru. The human noticed Joan took in every word never taking her eyes off him.

The vixen stayed silent and put her bronze knife away. "I'll take you to that mountain peak" She said extending a hand helping him up.

Standing up, the young human got himself on his feet looking Joan again. "Thanks for helping me." He said looking the vixen over.

Joan grinned at him touching his chin causing him to flinch. She cocked her head at him thinking to herself. "I better work on him get him to trust other people again." The vixen grabbed his hand leading him away from the camp. "Come human, we got to take a different route to that mountain peak. It will take a couple days and pass thru a town."

William took a last look of the camp double checking his possessions to make sure that nothing is missing. He breathes a sigh of relief that nothing is missing and kept following the vixen. "I better watch myself around her." He thought to himself feeling the warm hand of the vixen giving him an erection. "I am getting a hard on by getting my hand held by Joan." William thought to himself as he followed her in the woods.

The vixen grinned to herself as she led him in the woods. She can smell his arousal because she has a sharp sense of smell. Joan can also smell the scent of his mixed feelings. "I got two days to work with him. Hopefully we can become close friends human." The vixen thought to herself guiding William deeper in the woods being guided by her superior night vision.
