A Nightly Stroll
I don't always save my poems, but when I do...
You get this. It's loosely based off the perspective of when this bugger ran off from home: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/3789796/
Mainly since it's been about 2 years around this time he passed on and also because I haven't posted anything in a while.
Not one of my better ones, but like I said, the better ones I did were throwaways. Granted, I like to keep poems simple otherwise people miss the main point and people don't like having to over analyze that kind of stuff.
A Nightly Stroll
By Kazufox
Time after time,
Day by day,
Sitting at the window looking out in wonder,
Only to just gaze upon the outside world,
While locked up in a fortress of a shelter.
Then one night,
My brother said to me,
As he picked away at the door handle,
"The door is unlocked!"
"Hey, why don't we explore?"
I perched myself on top of the open window,
Then leapt over into the backyard,
It was very wet outside,
I got away yet had nowhere to go,
My feet were sopping wet with water.
I trotted around in the night,
Lit up by the outside lights of houses,
Being out on my own,
It was a nice feeling,
A sense of adventure and wonder,
I walked around passing home after home,
Avoiding the concrete path,
As two large glowing eyes like a monster pass by,
Besides, the wet grass felt softer
Beneath my padded feet.
Yet, I felt ill as time passed,
Longing to be home,
The tasty food, the warm bed,
So I hurried my way back,
And found myself meowing happily,
In my master's loving embrace.
