"So how is our new guy doing Shade?" Arada asked of the young Zoroark as he walked up to the sniper range. "Or did you barely start watching him after trying to hit on Tech. Sergeant Ramirez over there?" He asked pointing to an attractive female Typhlosion.

A small chuckle escaped Shade as he handed over a chart to Arada, keeping on eye on Jayden. "Your new guy is doing better than I thought commander, he's got ninety percent accuracy rating." He looked over to Arada, a slight smirk on his face, "he's got skill, but in some places he's a little lacking, nothing to be concerned about though." He stated looking back to Jayden. "I don't know who found this kid, or how they found him, but he's almost as good as I am."

Arada felt as if he'd just been smacked in the face by the young buck. This is strange, Arada thought as he looked over the chart, Shade never does his job right away. "Well, well Shade, looks like everything is in order. I must say I'm proud." He looked over to Jayden in time to see him charge the bolt of the rifle he was firing, and quickly replace the spent magazine with a fully loaded one. Placing the butt of the stock at his shoulder, he moved the bolt forward, chambering a new round, and began to fire into a new target.

Shade watched carefully, trying to find a flaw, if any, for him to go in and quickly fix. "I've been watching this guy for the past hour now, Arada, and I've only seen a few errors he's made." He turned to his commander, "I would have to say this guy's almost as good as my father was back in his glory days of the Marines." Shade was right, Major Tyler Stillman was one of the best snipers to emerge from the infamous Fort Bragg. Shade gave a small huff as he looked back to Jayden, "but no one's as good as I am."

Again true, thanks to his fathers teachings Leslie-Shade- was trained at, an early age, the fine points of marksman ship. At thirteen he took the competition-shooting world by storm when he took out eight targets, all at fifteen hundred yards out, in ten seconds using his fathers M40A3 sniper rifle. It's what also earned him an Invite to the CIA to become an elite soldier.

Every fiber of his being was screaming at him to smash down the young Zoroark's cockiness, but, even Arada knew that what Shade was saying is true, there was no sniper that could out match his skill. "I heard they're writing a book called 'Stillman's Last Stand'." He said looking to Shade, as Shade continued to watch as Jayden went from being Prone with a sniper to moving into a crouched position with a M4.

"Yeah, some author came to my out to my place in Alaska and interviewed me about mine and my fathers relationship when I was still a Zorua. I told him 'There's not much to say"When he got home, his idea of bonding was taking me out into the woods and making me fire a rifle until my should practically bled'." Shade laughed again, "Then he asked if I resent my father for any of it. I felt like punching the asshole right then and there. But my girl Shirley calmed me down. 'I harbor no resentment to that man, or the things he did on the battle field or back home. When I had learned that he had perished after holding off an entire militia to let his buddies, and the Army Rangers they had saved, get to safety, I proclaimed that my father was the greatest soldier alive.' I told him." Shade lowered his head in a moment of silence.

Arada placed his hand on Shades shoulder, "your father was a great man, in fact I had the chance to meet him about a year before his fall," he patted the young Zoroark's shoulder, "and his legend lives on with you, Shade." He saw Shade give a small nod. Instantly a thought popped into the Lucario's head, Shirley? His girl Shirley? Is that why he wasn't hitting on every woman within a ten mile radius? "I hope you don't mind my asking, Shade, but who's Shirley?"

A smile was brought back to Shade's face again as he reached into the left breast pocket of his snow cammo BDU's, and fished out several small photos and looked at the one on top. "Shirley, my friend, is my old lady." He showed Arada a picture of himself and a beautiful female Zoroark in each others arms. "We've been married for a year and a half now, we even," he moved the first picture to the back to reveal the second photo, Shirley, about seven months pregnant, "have a kid on the way." Arada could see a certain smile on Shade's face as the soon to be father looked at the picture of his pregnant wife, the smile of a proud father.

"Congratulations, Shade, truly." Arada said with a smile. Shade thanked him and placed the pictures back into the left breast pocket, closest to his heart. He knew Shade's child would be born before their mission was over. He sympathized with him. Once again placing his hand on Shade's shoulder, "I'm happy for you Shade, I really am, but I have a question." Shade reluctantly looked over to Arada. "How was any woman able to tame the likes of you?" The two immediately burst into laughter over the question.

"I don't know, Arada, but when I find out you'll be the first to know." He looked to his commander.

He opened his mouth to speak again, when a female Blaziken approached them and stood at attention in front of Arada and saluted him. "Sir, Warrant Officer Carry Smith, I've been ordered to bring the, Colonel 'Zero', to the command center." She said placing her hand down by her side once again

"Understood, Smith, report back to the General and inform him I'm on my way. Dismissed." With a salute and an about face, the Warrant Officer was off with her orders. "Well, Shade, looks I'm needed else where. When Jayden get's done with the pistol range you two get inside, shower and relax. That's an order." He knew if his men weren't rested, they would be no use to him in the field.

"Sir, may I ask one last question before you disappear?" Arada stopped in his stride. "The last mission we were on, you were just a Colonel, when did you become a Lieutenant General?"

Arada chuckled to himself as he turned around, "well, I haven't, let me say, I haven' t been 'pushing papers' like most out there think I do."

Standing in the descending elevator, Arada, felt a mixture of anticipation, and fear surged threw his body as a Ding sounded in the elevator, and the doors open up. As he stepped threw, a soldier on the far end stood at attention, and in a clear and loud voice said, "attention on deck!" Just then every soldier, save for the senior General he had spoken with the day before, stood and saluted him. "As you were." Came Arada's response as he made his way into the room. In the middle of the room sat a large table, filled with papers, maps, and just about everything imaginable you would find in a command center. It was all surrounded by a cavalcade of military personal conversing with one another. All around him, soldiers were, click clacking, away at computer stations to provide Intel, to ground troops. Amidst the chaos around him, he was able to find the man who had sent for him.

"Well, Zero. Nice of you to finally join us." The older Mightyena stated almost sounding annoyed that Arada was only about two minutes late.

"Sorry Mathews I would have spotted you sooner, but you're so damn short, I lost you in this crowd."

The General stared at him. A long, almost awkward, pause had passed before the General laughed, and then snapped back to a serious voice, "alright, fun times over for today, I have something to go over with you before I brief you and your men tomorrow." Arada gave a confirming nod. "Good, then listen up, the Intel has changed dramatically."

"How dramatic, is dramatically, in this situation?"

"Enough that you're not going to be able to do this with just your men alone." Now Arada was pissed, no one questioned his soldiers ability to successfully complete a mission. Even Mathews knew he was treading on dangerous ground by saying what he had just said. With a clear of his throat and passing of a folder he spoke up, "Intel shows the enemy compound holds information on almost every single major player of Al Qaeda. Including HIM." Mathews said with a now angered tone in his voice. And only by saying 'Him', all in the room knew who was being spoken of. The HIM the General was speaking of, was the only man Zero wasn't able to kill due to political immunity. "We've got him, Zero, and this time he's fair game. And this agent is going to do it for us." He gestured to an Umbreon that was wearing black fatigues, like Arada, standing next to the General since Arada had walked in. "This is CIA special agent Brian, O'Collins, one of the best computer hackers alive."

Zero looked the agent over, He was just a little shorter than he was, and he looked like he hadn't done any physical labor in his whole life. "So, O'Collins, that's Irish, am I right?" Arada asked folding his arms over his chest.

Brian gave a nod of his head, "aye, sir." He still had a good thick Irish accent to him. He also sounded very young.

"Agent, O'Collins came to our country when he was ten, and became a citizen three years later." The General said as he produced a vanilla folder from a stack of papers and handed it to Arada.

Looking over the Bio that was just handed to him, Arada saw that Brian was born and raised, till ten, in Dublin, Ireland, and moved to the states when he was ten because of his fathers job where they all became citizens three years later. Reading down the list of the Agents skills and other various traits, Zero saw something that made him freeze and look up to the Umbreon. "Is what I'm reading on this folder correct?" He asked in a shocked tone.

"If it's about how, Brian, was able to hack into the main frame of the United States Department of Defense? Then yes, It's one hundred percent accurate." The General answered. "That's why we have him here. We'll be able to take out the arms dealer from Serbia, and his boss from Moscow."

After being given his new orders, that were put so bluntly as, "Just keep the kid alive and bring him back, along with the Russians, alive." Arada exited the command center with the young Umbreon hot on his heels. They entered the elevator and made their way top side. Looking at the Agent next to him, Keep the kid alive? Arada thought to himself. How old is he? He asked himself as he took another look at the folder to see he was only eighteen years old, and already one of the most skilled computer hackers out there. "Well, Brian, I'm glad to have someone with skills like yours on our team. There is just one thing though, in this unit we go by alias'." He paused in thought for a moment only to come up with one of the most simple he could think of, chuckling to himself he moved his head to look at Brian, "I'll just call you Tech."

"Thank ya'commander, it truly is a pleasure to work along side ya, I've heard nothing but the most incredible tales of you, I'm glad my first mission is with a legend."

Arada had no reaction to what Tech had just said, mainly because he knew about eighty percent of what he may have heard was either falsified, or just plain wrong. "Kid if you knew the real stories of the sick and twisted shit that I've done or seen, trust me, you would have thought twice about agreeing to be part of this unit." He had a tone in his voice, it wasn't sinister, or anything else, it was emotionless. He looked over that the, now fear stricken, Umbreon, "I'll protect you, hell I'll take a bullet for you like all of my men. I'll keep you alive, but as for your sanity, your morality, everything," he paused again, "just prepare your self to see some shit."

The elevator doors opened with a ding. Still looking at Tech, "welcome to Shadow Squadron kid, I just hope you're ready." Arada looked forward once again and stepped out of the elevator without another word.

Standing at the counter in the kitchen, cutting up some pickles into smaller bits, was Rachel. Cutting up the last half pickle, the one of five she had already cut up, she picked up a large bowl of ice cream and used the knife to simply push the bits of pickle into the bowl. After giving the bowl a quick stir, satisfied that each spoonful was going to have pickles in it, she made her way to the living room. On her way though, she passed a large full size mirror. Stopping to look at her self, and regretting it deeply, Rachel could see the large bulge in her stomach where her child was being formed. She was now five months pregnant with her first child since the accident that took her unborn child six years ago.

"Ugh, I look so fat now." She said giving her stomach a gentle rub. giving her pickles and Ice cream a dirty look, she pointed at it with her spoon, "and I blame you for it." She said taking a bite, with more pickles than ice cream, "but your so damn good." She said with her mouth still full, and shoving in another mouth full. "I'm glad my daughters at school and not watching her mother eat like a pig." She said aloud to her self as she took a seat on the couch. Flipping threw a couple of channels on the TV, she came upon CSI: NY, gave a small squeal of glee and sat back watching and eating her ice cream.

After about fifteen minutes into the show the phone on the side table began to ring. Giving a soft grunt and sigh she reached over and grabbed the cordless phone. Who ever this is better have something pretty freakin' important to say, cause no one disturbs detective Taylor. She thought to herself as she looked at the caller ID, number not available it said. She pressed the answer button and placed it to her ear, "hello?"

"You have no idea how good it is to hear your voice." A voice said into her ear. Rachel gasped as to who's voice it was talking to her. "How have you been, is Celty doing alright?" Arada asked as he sat in a secluded room with only a chair, bench and satellite phone. Rachel was already in tears at just the sound of her husbands voice, and he could already hear her start to sob.

"I miss you so much Arada." She finally able to say. "We're doing fine here, Celty was in her schools play as the lead, she was so beautiful. I also taped it for you to watch when you get back." There was a short pause after Rachel had said that. "How long do you think it's going to take for that?"

Arada sighed over the phone and scratched the back of his head, "no real way of telling, some things changed around, but if things go right, I should be home around three months from now."

Rachel began to cry again, but stopped herself, she was stronger that that. She may have been away from her husband for months while pregnant, but what military wife hadn't? Kids were a different story. "I just wish Celty was here right now, she really misses you."

"How is she, does she still need trainers at night?" Arada asked as he propped his arm up on the bench and rested his head in his hand.

Rachel shook her head, "she's completely dry day and night. She did it to surprise you when you go back, so act surprised or your gonna wish you were back where you are now." Rachel laughed.

For the next hour the to sat talking, it didn't matter what the subject was, if it kept them talking, it was talked about. Suddenly Rachel remembered something important she had to tell Arada. "Babe, I forgot to tell you, I got an ultra sound a couple days ago, and the doctor told me the sex of the child, do you want to hear?" Arada couldn't answer fast enough when she asked. "Arada, we're going to have a little," She was cut off as loud static filled the ear piece of the phone.

Arada got the same amount of static in his ear and slammed the receiver back onto the cradle as he leaned back in his chair, and sighed. He sat there looking at the ceiling. Reaching into the breast pocket of his BDU jacket, he pulled out a photo of Rachel and Celty he had taken just before being deployed. "you threaten my family, and my home by helping sell illegal arms to terrorists," he kissed the picture and placed it back in his pocket, "well, Vlad, now you're free game, and this time you won't get away from me, I won't stop till your last breath is taken with my hands around your throat." He said aloud to himself as he stood up and exited the room.
