#3 of Passions Flames

After decimating his Mistress bathroom Thrisk is punished with extra training at a Gym.

I couldn't help but feel bad the next morning as the sun rose. Mistress Eon had made me sleep out on the balcony instead of at the foot of her bed. What was worse was that she had to think about how to punish me for such a expensive loss. Her having to put a lot of thought into my punishment rarely meant a good thing.

As I leaned my head on the railing and looked out over the mountains I sighed lightly. I was really going to get it and I knew it. After a moment Mistress Eon came into the living room talking on the phone. "Yes I know it's unorthodox." she said as she pointed at me and then to the elevator door. I hurriedly opened the door to the balcony and went inside before closing it. I then rushed over to the elevator and pressed the button to call the lift. "You owe me. We will be coming shortly." she said as she hung up the phone and stood next to me.

I risked looking up at her but she kept her gaze fixed on the elevator before the door opened and she stepped into the elevator. I hesitated for a moment not sure if I was to follow but then she said "Cmon Thrisk, you brought this onto yourself." I frowned lightly as I stepped into the elevator and stood next to her before she pressed the button for the lift to take us down. We rode in silence down to the lobby and then walked across the lobby to the front of the building.

We didn't get a ride from a taxi or anything. Instead we walked the long distance to the poke'mon gym. I really didn't like this gym. It had recently got a retrofit from a new gym leader who had changed its theme from plant poke'mon to bug type poke'mon and bugs creeped me out. Outside the gym were several hopefuls waiting in a single file line. Mistress Eon however walked straight to the front of the line with me following behind her. Several of the trainers gave her a look of awe but one of the ones towards the front yelled out, "Hey you can't cut the line we have been waiting all day!"

Mistress Eon just looked at the Tabby Cat furson who had yelled and quirked a brow. "I'm not cutting in line. I have an appointment." the tabby just rolled his eyes dismissively. "If that's the case then show me your so much more important then us that you get appointments with gym leaders." the tabby said. One of the people behind him who had recognized Mistress Eon tried to talk the tabby out of it but it was to late. The fire had been kindled in Mistress Eon and there was no stopping her when she had been challenged, even if the person doing the challenging didn't know what he was getting himself into.

"Thrisk, make this quick, I don't want to miss my appointment." I nodded lightly stepping out into the open field surrounding the gym and waited for the tabby to choose his poke'mon. he didn't take long as he grinned confidently at Mistress Eon. I really didn't like that smile, for some reason it angered me. He didn't have the right to smile like that at Mistress Eon. As the flash from the tabbys pokeball faded it revealed a squirtle. I frowned heavily as I flexed my hands lightly. The squirtle had elemental advantage but I likely had the combat experience on my side. The squirtle and the tabby waited for Mistress Eon to announce a command but given our battle style that wasn't happening so I launched the first attack.

As I charged the tabby yelled out "Squirtle, defend yourself." the squirtle then retreated into its shell as I brought my clenched fist down on the shell. Despite the prodigious strength I had brought to bear on the shell it didn't give an inch despite the fact it sunk into the soil atleast two inches. The squirtle stayed turtled up for three more strikes from my taloned fist before I finally had to stop from the pain. A full frontal assault wasn't going to work and as I retreated the turtle came back out of its shell. Then in a surprising action it used water gun without a command from its trainer. I had enough time to hear the tabby yell out "I didn't tell you to come out of your shell." before I had to dodge the liquid projectiles.

I managed to dodge the bulk of the water blast but I still got the trailing edge of it. The water hissed lightly as it splashed against my hot scales causing me a minor bit of pain. My guess had been correct I had the combat experience. I knew that if my master gave a command it should be followed because they likely knew strategy best. This squirtle was rebellious so that should give me and advantage as it fired off another water gun. I continued to add a bit of distance between me and the turtle and thankfully the next blast missed by a good distance.

I had to figure out a way to close the distance and score a strong hit against the little turtle but if I got close his accuracy was good enough to nail me square in the chest. I swore lightly as I dodged another blast of water, cart wheeling to the side as I did so. The squirtle had to have a weakness. It was then that I realized that the little turtles water preassure was getting weaker, which was why he was missing by a greater and greater range. With a grimace I took a deep breath and exhaled a pillar of fire at the little turtle. The squirtle panicked and began unleashing as much water as he possibly could. A great column of steam issued from our combined attacks for a moment before I began to charge forward while exhaling.

The poor squirtle never had a chance as I came at hims with a upper cut through the fire and caught him by the fore head in my talons. I then lifted him off the ground and slammed him back down in a massive slam attack. That was enough to finish it off as the little turtle layed there completely stunned. The tabby trained jogged into the field as I stepped away from my toppled opponent and returned to my Mistress side. She frowned a bit before saying quietly, "Not even a challenge." I nodded lightly before we went into the creepy gym.

The entire interior was hot, humid, and very much like a rainforest. It was somewhat comfortable minus the water content in the air. As we walked past the trees and bushes that lined the path Mistress Eon led me into a large semi circle arena like location where the sun shown down in a great skylight. I looked around frowning. I hadn't liked this place the first time we were here and I liked it even less this time around. I couldn't help but growl lightly as a anthro german shepard walked into the arena being followed by a beedrill. He was Lucas the gym leader.

"Good morning Lucas, it is good to see you again." Mistress Eon said as she walked into the clearing followed hesitantly by me. "It is good to see you to, though you know I cant do this often. I have a gym to run and trainers to test." Lucas said shaking Mistress Eons paw lightly. Mistress Eon nodded and smiled before waving me over. "I'm sure you remember Thrisk." I stepped forward looking at the Beedril and frowned heavily. I really hated bugs. Lucas nodded a bit before he began to walk towards the far side of the Arena. "So what exactly are you wanting me to do?" Lucas asked as I followed behind the two trainers. Mistress Eon said "I would like you to train Thrisk for a week and a half, Improve his endurance and reflexes for the most part."

Lucas nodded for a bit before whistling shrilly. The whistle hurt my ears and I couldn't help but shudder lightly. "Will you be leaving him here while you go?" Lucas asked and Mistress Eon nodded. I frowned heavily. I hated it when she left me at the daycare or in another trainers care. I was always worried that something would happen when I wasn't around. "I'll be back at the end of the time table to claim Thrisk in time for my challenge to the Elite Four." She said before turning and leaving the arena. I watched her go the whole way before whimpering lightly when she had left. My mood wasn't improved in the least when a Heracross came out of the brush, seemingly summoned by the whistle. Strapped around its back was what looked like a large weighty vest. The Heracross walked over to us before looking up at Lucas Obediantly. "Heracross, give Thrisk your weight vest. He needs special training with Beedrill." I frowned lightly as the vest was taken off and handed to me.

I was surprised when I put it on just how weighty it was and recalled when I had faced aginst this Heracross that he had not been wearing it then. He had been one of the hardest to hit bugs I had ever faced off against and a part of me couldn't help but begin to get excited about doing some training. "Alright Thrisk, follow Beedrill to the training room. Your training is simply to dodge his fury strikes." I nodded and followed the buzzing insect out of the arena, moving slower as I did. Soon he had led me to a medium sized room that was lined with padding and floor mats.

When we got into the room we squared off and I grinned at the beedrill. Last time we had faced off I had no problem dodging his speedy attacks. The beedrill however had become much faster since the last time we had faced off, closing the distance between us in a blink of the eye. I tried jumping to the right to dodge the first of the fury attacks but the weighty vest caused me to miss judge the movement and I ended up falling onto my side. I took a full four jabs to my gut from the annoying insect. The jabs didn't hurt to much but I definetly felt them. I barely managed to roll out of the way when the beedrill stopped for a moment and I growled lowly. I could tell this was going to be a long week and a half.
