Introducing the last of the commanders, and Katashi's purpose

Immortal Chapter 5: Prophecy

As Katashi watched the sunrise he quickly smelled something delicious. His stomach let out a loud growl as he hadn't actually eaten. "Hm do dead people eat?" He questioned himself. "Of course they do silly," Luna stood in the doorway of the hospital. "Where do I go to get something? I don't have any money," He looked down and she laughed to herself softly. She explained to him that as her guest he wouldn't need any money. She gave him some simple directions to a bakery not far away and he bowed.

Moving down the road he watched as a few people started to come out into the streets. The bakery already in full operation as smoke poured from its oven. He stepped inside hearing lots of commotion in the back. "Come on we have to get Commander Terra's order ready," A women yelled from the oven room. A young boy stepped out from the back nearly covered in flour and smiled.

"Hi there can I help you?" He smiled. "Uh yeah can I get something for breakfast?" Katashi asked. The boy nodded and stepped into the back and came back with two big trays full of pastries. Each of them looked delectable. He grabbed one off of the tray covered in a blue jelly. "Careful it's still hot," The boy put the trays in a case as others stepped inside. Sayomi one of the few to step in. "Hey its you!" Katashi looked at Sayomi. "Huh? Oh yeah hi there kid, looks like you didn't die in basic training," Sayomi laughed and smacked his back.

Katashi growled and took a big bite of his breakfast. "You could've warned me," He glared at the redhead. "Yeah but if I had you it wouldn't have been worth it," Sayomi grabbed three big donuts off a tray. "You're the talk of the town kid," He stepped out with Katashi following. They continued talking about what Katashi went through as he synced with his power. Katashi very eagerly told him off about the intense pain he had to go through. Sayomi couldn't help but laugh at him. His own power struggle was quick and painless. He had prepared for it for years since he died naturally and had to go through a normal training process.

"So they said in there they were trying to prepare a Commanders morning meal," Katashi looked at boy next to him. "Oh yeah Commander Terra can really put away some sweets," Sayomi looked at him and motioned to the trays being carried up the steps. Katashi raised an eyebrow wondering what kind of person could eat so much.

Meanwhile on the third ring of halo all the training grounds are alive with morning drills. In the master dojo a large snore lets out from the second floor. The master bedroom rumbled with the snores. A man in a brown shirt with glasses and a shoulder length hair moved up the stairs. A few bangs hung over his face as the coarperal stared at his commander. "Oaf..." He sighed and moved over pushing the big belly of his master. "Master Terra! Master! Get up you fat..." Suddenly the beast turned over rolling on top him. "M...master! Need...air!" He gasped out.

The boar's eyes opened slightly as felt the man kicking under him. "Ishi? What you doing under there?" He asked. "You rolled on top of me you idiot!" He yelled and terra rolled off of him. Terra was a great brown boar. On top of his muscular frame sat a big round gut. He resembled a large sumo wrestler. But all of his fat was only on his belly the rest of him was muscular. He stood up on his hooves as his small tusks poked from his bottom lip. He smiled a big goofy smile at his second in command who brushed himself off. Terra weighed more than ten men and was proud of it. He dressed into his brown shirt and commander's uniform and moved down the steps.

All of this dojo was custom made to accommodate his weight. His senior training class bowed before him as he stepped down from the stairs. "Good morning Commander," All the twenty five year olds spoke. "Good morning men! Sorry I was a bit sleepy and caught a few extra Z's," He laughed out. Terra was very kind hearted and a jolly man. He loved to laugh and talk with his men getting to know each one individually. "Well Ishi, why don't you get them started on morning drills! When I get back from the meeting we'll all enjoy a nice big breakfast," He smiled and snorted. "Of course commander," Ishi bowed and began ordering all the morning drills.

Every morning the Commanders of the ten sectors had a meeting. It was to discuss the rulings of the underworld and current events in the world of the living. The great white tower gleamed in the morning light. In the meeting room the ten balconies sat silently with the platform over oblivions held firm in place. A young fox standing on the platform smiling wide. "Starting the morning Commanders Meeting! All Commanders please come to your designated seats" He smiled happily in the empty room. From the hallways behind each seat all of the Commanders moved out and sat in their seats. Ligeron, Andreas, Terra, Cerce, Titan, Luna, Salamander, Juan, and two new faces. Each of them sat in their seats and peacefully the fox bowed and pulled up a parchment to record. One of the two new faces was the Commanders of the Security Team. The other was the Commander of the Support Team.

Artemis ruled over the security team which acted like police men. She was a small doe only standing 5ft 10in to her brothers and sister. She wore a green coat which didn't take away from her body. A perfect hour glass figure which was to say very top heavy. Her brown fur having small white spots as she crossed her legs. Her eyes monochromatic with one being blue the other yellow. Her long auburn hair tied into a ponytail. Two of her bangs flipped back along the curve of her head like antenna. Flowing vines bloomed around her as she leaned back in her seat. She was strict but loved flirting with anything on two legs. But she was also feared throughout the underworld. She ran the prison on the seventh ring of Halo. To be put in there was a sentence for torture for eternity.

The other was Lord Neptune Commander of the Support Team. A slender tiger shark who sat erect in his seat. His long tail swishing behind him. His skin a dark olive with deep brown stripes running along his body. His hands and feet webbed as he hid his sharp teeth behind a solemn smile. His eyes an intense gold as his gills moved slowly. His chair having a special slot so his dorsal fin could fit through the chair. His blue coat dripping wet to keep his skin from drying out much like Cerce's. He was the youngest of the Commanders but very well respected.

"Well now good morning everyone," Ligeron smiled. "Must we hold these meeting so early? I need my rest," Salamander complained never having left his pillow. "Stop complaining you lazy ass," Artemis eyes moved to him. "Please let us stop wasting time," Juan grumbled his raspy voice catching everyone's attention. "Indeed, the only real thing to speak about is that boy," Neptune muttered. "Yes I am very interested in him," Andreas leaned against his hand. They all went silent not really knowing anything about him. Juan spoke of how he had a small family in the living world. He was an enigma amongst them. "Well he is a human having an out of body experience. He's soul has simply detached from his mortal form without causing harm to his body. A rarity only one in every ten thousand years," Cerce explained trying to avoid the technical aspects.

"He's the boy of the prophecy," Luna spoke softly every eye turning to her. Andreas' especially watching her intently. "How dare you insult the last words of the former head commanders by saying this stupid boy is the chosen one," Titan stood growling at the women next to him. Ligeron narrowed his eyes and Titan gulped sitting back down. To keep the peace Ligeron asked her to explain. She went on to explain the ancient prophecy of former head commanders Yin and Yang. The prophecy spoke of a boy born of two mortal parents. This boy was destined to rise in strength, to defend, and save the underworld from collapse. It was never said of the boys name or power but that he would be mortal.

"What proof do you have?" Cerce looked at her. "He bears the mark of an Immortal incarnate, a mortal born with the soul of an Immortal," She looked at him. While Katashi was passed out in Luna's hospital she inspected his body. On his chest she found a scar. The scar resembled a star inside a circle. Immortals rarely die and when they do they become reincarnated in the form of mortals. If this boy was the child from the prophecy then he was a high priority subject. Suddenly argument broke out amongst everyone. Yelling about checking the boy and testing him. Ligeron rose to his feet begging for them to please be silent. Suddenly Andreas stood and every gulped sinking back in their seats. "I will test the boy, If he can summon a weapon without training then Luna is correct," He turned and started to leave.

"Please Commander! Do not hurt the child he is innocent in this!" Luna yelled and he turned his eyes meeting hers. "I will not kill him if I don't have to," He moved out of the meeting room. Luna and Ligeron sighed ending the meeting quickly. Before Ligeron could stop him Andreas had vanished from the temple. "Andreas' don't so anything stupid please," He sighed. "Don't worry he's smarter than he looks," Terra patted his back. Meanwhile Katashi sat next to Sayomi on the steps of the eight ring. They looked out at the vast ocean. Katashi tried asking Sayomi about his life when he was alive but to no avail. Sayomi explained that when you die usually you forget everything. You don't remember who or what you were at all. Katashi didn't push the subject and Sayomi gasped suddenly turning around. "Commander," He gulped making Katashi turn around. Behind them Andreas stood with a smile. His eye gleaming at both of them in the morning light.

He raised his hand and an orb formed in his hand of pure darkness. "Commander what are you doing!" He yelled and suddenly the orb flew forward. They both dodged rolling away making the orb fly off. It exploded out over the see with great force. "Stand down Sayomi," Andreas ordered and turned to Katashi summoning another of his orbs. Katashi gasped as he tossed another and he ducked letting it fly over his head. "Damnit! What's your problem!" He yelled and suddenly Andreas hand barely missed his face. Katashi bent to one side and caught his arm in his own. "Gotcha," Katashi smirked thinking he had the upper hand. Andreas flung his arm to the side tossing Katashi into a wall. He let out a loud grunt and coughed out a little blood as he pushed himself up off the ground. "Bastard..." He grumbled and got to his feet. He wiped his mouth and ran forward his hands rose to land a hit. As he got close and prepared to land a hit Andreas fist landed into his stomach. It lifted him off the ground and he landed back where he was.

Andreas turned prepared to walk away thinking he had killed him. "Well that was no fun at all," He took a single step away. "Where are you going? I'm not done with you...yet," Katashi pushed himself up again. Andreas narrowed his eyes and wondered how he was still breathing. Katashi's body glowed and Sayomi stepped back surprised. "Whoa this kid's got a lot of power," He thought and Katashi ran forward. This time a long Katana formed in his hand. His body acted on its own lifting the Katana and bringing it down on Andreas' arm. The blade surprised everyone especially Katashi who had no idea where it came from. The metal was bleach white with a black handle. It pressed hard against Andreas' flesh unable to penetrate.

"So your body does know how to fight," Andreas smirked and shoved him back. Katashi looked at the sword as Andreas turned. "Don't you turn your back to me!" He yelled and went to make another slash. Andreas' tail whipped up knocking the sword from his hands. "It's amazing enough that you could summon a weapon, but that doesn't mean you can fight with it," The bull scoffed and walked away.

Katashi fell to his knee breathing heavily. The hit had broken one of his ribs putting him back in pain. Sayomi moved over helping him up. "Come on, we're gonna get you patched up," He helped him back to the hospital as Andreas appeared back at the temple. His arm bleeding from a tiny cut from the sword. "Andreas!" Ligeron rushed to him. "Your hurt," He lifted his arm and lapped up the blood. "That boy is a lot stronger than I expected, he caught me by surprise," Andreas watched him. "So...its true?" Ligeron looked up at him. "Yes he summoned a weapon on mere instinct, he's going to be a light user," Andreas explained.

Ligeron nuzzled him and healed his arm kissing him. They knew that Katashi was more important than they were letting on. Training him was going to be important and their was a reason to keep him here. Andreas took his mate in his arm pressing their noses together and thinking. "There is a way to test him after he train to see if he can hold his own," Ligeron spoke. "Fight him yourself, in three months after training, at his full strength in the final circle of hell, make him work his way down to the bottom of your pit, if he survives...then he will be able to stand his own against The Seven Hunter Generals," He explained making a smile go across Andreas' muzzle. Katashi lay in a hospital bed under the care of a healer. No idea of the trials about to affect him.
