I poured a lot of emotion into this poem. It makes me want to cry almost every time I read this; because we all have those things that we wish we never did, and some are worse than others. Enjoy.

Regret

The passage of time has come at last The passage of time has passed us by I cannot hear it cannot see it Yet the pain is still the same Yet the pain remains And he wonders Where is all the love? And she wonders Why do I deserve this? And it wonders Why all the pain? And I wonder How could I do this? Oh how joy melts into grief And weeps its shining tears of hope Rays of hope, hearts of hope That die;

The outer shell is peeling cracked My truth has been exposed I can taste its bitterness The memories in my head sicken me I cannot catch my breath Each day forever I choke On this black tar substance That which is called Regret.
