My Knight in Shining Armour
Chapter 16:
Encouraging performance
Rubbing his head, Alex awoke from his slumber. It had been a while since David was the first thing he saw in the morning, but he was perfectly content with that, since they still did the 'activity' that made people lose their energy and fall asleep in other peoples beds, but that did that earlier in the day before.
Yet...Alex could still smell his mate's scent in his room. It lingered and whisked past the mouse's nose, which he took a deep breath of, sighing with happiness. He hopped out of bed and took a quick shower for the day.
Days have pasted on and on until it reached the present, the weekends. It was Sunday now. Last day of fun before the dreaded Monday of work came chasing after. We all know how people tend to feel on Monday mornings.
Just six months ago he was a timid and scared mouse, easily intimidated. Now he was...well, he wasn't that timid and scared anymore, but that was still kind of whom he was, careful and shyish. Still, a certain bat in his life had made him stronger, bolder and...hornier. Alex had to chuckle at his last thought, but it was true, that bat could turn him on just by getting a glance of that sexy bod he had, seeing him naked could probably make him leak pre.
It wasn't exactly wise to think of this while in the shower, or any other time in public for that matter, but in the shower the most, cause your constantly touching yourself and at some point your going to have to pass over that spot that likes to be touches the most and be tempted to keep going until you spray a certain ivory coloured goo out on the walls.
Alex managed to get out the shower before he got hard though, wrapping a towel around his waist and looking at himself in the mirror...and noticing something that defiantly wasn't their before. His eyes had turned a golden yellow...yellow?!?. He closed his eyes and opened them again just to make sure he wasn't seeing things. Sure enough, his eyes remained the same colour, yellow.
Alex wondered what the hell was going on, yellow isn't a natural eye colour...then again, he wasn't natural. He sighed; this must be something having to do with his angel side.
The mouse groaned, "Perfect, just perfect. What's next, a halo?" he waited for a second, just in case a halo did pop up on his head due to him being negative. Life just was sarcastic like that to him, like some comedy.
He stepped out the bathroom and searched for clothing. Idly he wondered if he could convince David to taking him to the mall. For some reason he felt like shopping or maybe he just needed an excuse to be with his bat lover. In truth, David took him lots of places. The park, out for diner, the movies, anywhere Alex wanted to go, David took him.
It made Alex wonder if that's what he always wanted to do. Perhaps he wanted to just lie in bed and cuddle with the mouse instead of being in public. It would really guilt Alex if he knew that he was being controlling. He wanted David to be happy too. The mouse made a note to ask him about it as he picked something casual, yet stylish to wear. A red top with some faded blue jeans, putting them on hurriedly.
He had an idea, his parents won't mind if he left early and since they slept late it wasn't really a problem. He also knew for a fact that David would be asleep right about now, he always slept late on weekends when he had the chance to. Alex closed his eyes and concentrated, then, he just vanished in a bright flash.
Alex had just recently learnt how to teleport, and when he did, it looked like he was flying past starts in space until his destination came into view; David's bedroom.
The mouse smiled with fondness at the sleeping bat. Lucky for him the covers were off and David was lying on his belly, so his firm ass was in view, yet covered by his black silken boxers disappointingly.
Alex smirks and tiptoed to the bed, then slowly slid a finger over his lover's crack. At this, the bat woke up with a startled look "Huh? What's going on?" looking around franticly.
Alex smirks "Morning"
David's eyes fixed on Alex, wanting to snort but ending up grinning "Well Helllooo, isn't this a nice surprise"
Alex nods with a giggle "I got teleporting down"
David chuckles "Guess you do...hey, how bout getting in bed with your favourite bat so he can snuggle and cuddle you?"
Alex beamed and settled himself next to his love "Gladly" wrapping his arms around the stronger male, David returning the gesture and nuzzling against other. The mouse let himself slip into that state of happiness and safe whenever David held him, murring with content.
He glanced up "Think we can hang out today?"
The bat replied with a nod, a kiss, a smile and "Sure love, where you want to go?"
Alex smiled "I was thinking the mall...unless you have anything else in mind"
David shook his head "Nah, anywhere is good so long as I'm with you love"
Alex took the time to ask "You sure, I mean, we don't have to go out, we could just stay here and cuddle and stuff"
David smiled reassuring to his mouse "I really don't mind love, I got nothing better to do then hang out with my one and only mousy wousy, you know how lay back I am on weekends, I don't do much besides be with you, probably would be wasting time sleeping. I don't give a damn what we do, just so long as I'm near this wonderful embodiment of beauty I'm currently holding and my own fantasies come anyway after our time together in public." He chuckles "Its all good"
Alex blushes lightly, feeling his face start heat up "Um...wow...oh yea, does my eyes turning yellow have anything to do with me being an angel?"
David blinked at this "Your eyes turned yellow" inspecting for himself and then grinning, "That just means your getting stronger and growing as an angel...besides, they still make you look pretty"
Alex blushed brighter "Aww stop it, your making me blush"
David smiled "But you look all the more cute when you blush" ruffling Alex's head fur.
Alex beamed again, nuzzling the other's chest gently "I love you hon"
David smiled fondly at the cute mouse so close to him "I love you too Alex"
They cuddled like this for a long while, both very much comfortable in their current position, even partly forgetting the going out plan. It must have been at least ten minutes before one of them remembered, the one being David. After which, Alex had the pleasure of watching his love cloth himself, which he indeed watched with a happy smile.
They flew to the Mall and making sure no one saw them by using their hiding ability. Upon entering, Alex looked in various shops around the place, mostly clothing. His bat followed were he walked like a sheep.
David got Alex's attention while he was looking at a pink shirt "I need to go check something, meet me at the food court in an hour?"
Alex nodded "Ok, see you then"
David smiled and blew a kiss as he walked off into the distance, leaving Alex alone.
Alex took some time browsing the various shops, looking around, seeing what's new, just hanging basically. David had been acting a bit weird lately...well more weird that usual. Then he noticed something out the corner of his now golden eyes. A female badger with a cheerful smile and a blonde ponytail.
Alex smiled and shouted "Stephany!" walking over to her.
Stephany turned her head in light confusion, then smiled at Alex "Hello there"
Alex grinned "Haven't seen you since my little accident"
She nodded "That I haven't, how you been Alex?"
"I'm fine and you?" he noticed that here cast was off "Looks like your better"
She beamed "Yea, finally got that stupid thing off my arm, it was really slowing me down"
Alex nodded himself "So what you doing here?"
Stephany laughed, "Do I have to answer that, it's the mall for pities sake, you look smart enough to guess"
Alex laughed with her "Yea that is kinda a dumb question"
She smiled "Actually, I'm here because of my boyfriend"
Alex oooos "Really now, I didn't know you had a boyfriend"
She smirked "If I recall, before this I've only spoken to you for about 5 minutes, then I had to dash off, and it's not like you asked"
"True that"
The badger turned her head "There he is now"
Alex turned his head, seeing a very tall lion approaching them. His fur was tan and his mane was just golden, defiantly worked out quite a bit with that muscle frame, his eyes an emerald green.
He gave Stephany a hug once in range, which made here giggle "I'm glad to see you too hon"
The lion turned his head towards Alex with a warm smile, which Alex returned, "Who's your friend Stef?"
Stephany facepawed "Where are my manners, Terrance, this is my friend Alex, the one that was in that car accident I told you about, Alex, this is Terrance, my fuzz ball boyfriend"
Terrence outstretched a paw, which Alex shook gently "Nice to meet you Alex"
Alex just smiled politely "Charmed I'm sure" then looked down at his watch "Whoa, I'm late, it was nice seeing you again Stef" the mouse kept the polite smile and then headed his own direction.
Terrence smiled "He the gay guy you told me bout?"
Stephany nodded
Terrence chuckled "Sometimes I wish I was gay"
Stephany stared at him with a shocked look.
Terrence grinned and kissed her cheek "I'm just kidding, otherwise I won't get you"
Stephany huffed "Nice save"
Alex found the bat waiting at a table "Hey batsy"
David glared at him "Were have you been? I was worried sick, its 2 seconds past the time we set, I was starting to get worried" he grinned after the glare.
Alex just chuckled loudly "Sorry to keep you waiting love" he smiled "So what you feel like doing now?"
David smiled childishly "How bout we hit the arcade?"
Alex nodded "Cool"
With that, they made their way there, making idle chit chat along the short walk.
Curiosity ate at Alex's brain "Where did you go?"
David replied, "Can't tell ya"
Alex pouted "Awww, why not?"
David looked down with a blush, a happy smiling blush though "Its...embarrassing...and a secret"
Alex glared at the bat for a bit "Fine, but you know I'll get it out of you eventually"
David nodded "Yea, but they then I would have told you about it...just wait for it, ok?"
Alex was satisfied with that enough, at which they reached the arcade. Both deciding to play one thing: DDR. There were a couple of people around playing this and that, but none of them were on the DDR machine. Must be scared of looking silly when they make a mistake or something. Most furs were like that; no one wants embarrassment, especially in public. Alex and David smiled at each other, getting their tokens quickly and starting their game.
Alex picked a song first, standard, just to get warmed up. And off the two went.
If anyone were watching at that current moment, they would have noticed the fact the mouse and the bat both were moving exactly identical to the other. It was like a mirror image, they mimic each other without a flaw in sight. Also if they looked hard enough they might have noticed the duo keeping their eyes shut.
David had explained to Alex how he did this after the angel news. He had to use his powers to 'tap in' to the machine, merging with it in a mental kind of way. He was basically using telekinesis to predict what the machine would show to stand on. Alex had learnt how to do this with very little effort on his part.
The song eventually finished and as they suspected, they both had a perfect score, maybe a good here and they but otherwise perfect.
David chose the next song, keeping it standard, and both set into action again.
The reason for the little double act was because along with using their powers on the machine, they were using their power on each other. The whole physic mind links deal, reading their thoughts and all. This only improved their efficiency, because if one started to lag on the telepower focused on the machine, they could just get the answer from the other. 'You scratch my back, I scratch yours'
After the second song, people had started to gather and watch the two as they went to heavy, on each other's turns picking their favourite song and keeping up the fancy footwork. Occasionally they would open their eyes and glance at each other, smiling and laughing from the fun being had together.
Alex loved his bat, no one in the universe made him happier.
And yet all that was just a memory now, for it was Monday again, the dreaded, horrible Monday of evil doom...ness.
Alex was already at school by this time, currently in English literature, and bored out of his skull.
Next to him, David was drooling on his desk...and on his paper.
He muttered under his breath "I swear this teacher is as dry as a camel corpse in the desert"
And that's when the bell rang, signalling the last period of the day: assembly.
Furs scurried out of the room, some of them getting a bit squashed from the fur flood at the door.
As Alex walked to the hall, he remembered something.
His school was very...cultural. That being the case, they had talent show around the middle of the year. That in mind was today. Alex cursed he hated these stupid things. One thing he noticed was that David who was beside him a few seconds ago had vanished.
Alex blinked and looked around "What is that guy doing now?"
Upon entering the hall, he spotted Sam and Jeff, gesturing to the two seats they had saved for him and David.
As he sat down, Alex turned to Sam "You seen David?"
Sam shook his head "No, thought he was with you"
Alex started to look worried "Where did he get to, its not like him to act like this..."
Just then, Miss Chang, A Chinese feline came up one stage. She took the mike "Greetings everyone, welcome to our annual school talent show!"
"Why is it that the teachers pretend to be so excited about these things?" Alex though to himself
Miss Chang continued "Now, I would like to remind you all to be polite and clap for everyone, mind your behaviour and keep your comments to yourself or for later. It takes a lot of courage to stand up on this stage and perform, so be courteous" After that she left the stage.
A few acts came on. One was a female Labrador about two or three years younger than Alex himself. She sang 'Love is in the air' but ran off the stage crying as some of the boys in front were making fun of her. Another act were some juggling, instrumentals and other things.
Alex was losing interesting quite rapidly, till he heard the name of the next fur to take the stage, freezing as he heard it. "Oh no he didn't"
David stood behind the curtain and when he heard his name, made his way onto the stage. The crowd gave some applause, remembering the fact that he could sing. He slowly scanned the audience and found what he was looking for: his inspiration. He smiled at the shocked look on the white and black mouse's face.
Taking the mike in his paw and spoke into it "Hey there, how you all doing?"
He waited for a response, which was some giggles, then went on "This song and my performance is dedicated to my boyfriend"
As he watched, Alex could hear Sam and Jeff echo "Awwwwww". Alex turned his head and instead of showing the look, he physically stated to the two "Shut up". At which, they both fell silent and redirected their attention
David spoke on "I did try and let my emotions flow and write my own song, but I'm no song writer, and that didn't go very well" he reached into his pocket and pulled out a black piece of burnt paper. This caused most the school to crack up in laughter; even Alex couldn't help a giggle.
After the noise died down David spoke once more "This is for you baby, hope you like it"
The lights around the stage dimmed slightly, the spotlight on David. Some music started to play, upbeat for the bat to move his body to it as he started to sing:
"I had to escape
The city was sticky and cruel

The long straight road ahead uh, huh"
Alex had started to blush as he heard the song flow from his mate's mouth. It wasn't really helping that David was staring at him and furs were starting to look around and see whom he was staring at.

This fever for you
Is just burning me up in side"
David with the help of the wireless mike started to make his way off the stage, the spotlight following him, still slightly dancing to the beat. Alex watched him move up the centre isle and knew there was only one logical place he was heading.
"I drove all night to get to you

I drove all night"
At this point, David had reached and was standing next to Alex's seat, which was conveniently at the start of the row. Alex's blush showed no mercy, glowing bright on his face at the part about making love. Again nothing was on his side now that the whole school was starting at them.
"What in this world

No matter where I go I here

When the night is cold and dark uh, huh yeah

After that, David sat himself on Alex's lap, giving him a smile. That smiled...it just made Alex melt and almost forgot about all that was happening, just David was his focus. They stared at each other as David sang on from the mouse's lap.

Woke you from you sleep

After he finished that part of the song, David gave the mouse a little kiss on his nose. Alex could feel his heart thumping in his ribcage, feeling the overwhelming love coming from the bat as he made his way back up onto the stage.

This fever for you is just burning me up inside

At this point, David was back on the stage, starting to sing the last verse of the song. Alex stared at him with a bright smile, he felt like he was tearing up a bit.
"I drove all night

After that, the lights came back into play. Every fur in that audience clapped madly and loudly, even some whistles could be heard. David smiled and bowed, then made his way off the stage.
Moments later he casually, and by casually I mean shadow melted, slipped into the seat next to Alex, then kissed him passionately, after which he asked "How'd I do?"
Alex murred from the kiss and was still tearing lightly "Oh hon, that was so beautiful" he hugged the bat tightly, which David happy responded to.
"I'm glad you liked it"
"I'm glad I met you, I'm so god damned lucky"
"Aww shucks"
Alex leaned his head on David's chest as they watched the rest of the show together. He was feeling beyond happy. No word was created yet that could describe the amount of happiness, joy and love the mouse was feeling at that moment of his life. It was perfect, just perfect...
After the show, David had taken Alex somewhere on the school grounds, only he, David, Sam, Jeff, Nicholas and Daren came here.
The two were alone now, and Alex was still curious "So, whats up"
David took a deep breath "Alex...sweetie...remember yesterday when I won't tell you why I went off in the mall"
Alex nodded "Yea"
David was blushing through his white fur "Well, I think its time you find out why"
Alex smiled "Its about time"
David held one of Alex's paw for a while, then got on one knee "Alex"
Alex froze at this action, not speaking or talking, just wide-eyed.
David gently rubbed the paw of Alex he held "You're the most precious thing in my life love, you know that right?" he paused "Even before I got to know you better, I knew you were someone special in my life"
Alex remained frozen; also Sam, Jeff, Nikki and Daren were secretly watching. They had come to the spot to find the two, but had hidden and just watched after David got on his knee.
David went on "I know we've only been together for 6 months and that's kind of short but" he kissed the paw "I want to make sure I stay with you for much, much longer than that."
Alex had started to tear again, keeping still and blushing like mad.
David reached into his pocket and took out a small box, which he opened, revealing a diamond wedding ring "Alex...will you marry me?" Starting earnest into Alex's eyes.
There we go,
Talk about a cliffhanger eh?
