Chapter 3.

I kept running until I reached a place I never thought would be so close to the community. I was hiding behind a large bush looking around at the area I've never seen before. At first, I thought the many tall objects were monuments of the location, some working on another; until a couple, started arguing in front of me.

One saying "No, I'm telling you, go to that building," she pointing at the tallest one. The other person stopped walking, his hands on his face. "I swear...to GOD--" he took his hands away, having an angry look in his face, "no it is NOT!!"

I walked out on them, not wanting to hear them.

One thing I noticed from them, and everyone else I saw walking around, is that they were wearing something. Shirts, pants, shorts, hats. Walking in, I would feel out of place. I looked around, walking around the perimeter, seeing if there was something to look for what they wear. I found places, most with their doors open, finding some of those stores having clothing in hangers. I snuck my way into one of the stores, not entirely sure how without being noticed, seeing their selection.

...I don't know what they're called, but they were all in black, white, and some sort of tan jackets with all the same white shirts underneath. Most having something above the shirt that's inside of the jacket, I have no idea what they were. Most people inside were wearing something identical to those on display. I looked out again, seeing only a few of the people walking were wearing something similar. I looked to my left, seeing someone giving a weird look in his face. I looked the other way.

"Got to find another place..." I said to myself in a low voice. I turned back and snuck my way back in the bushes.

I heard someone say, "¿Ey, qué era eso?" I have no idea what they just said, only that I know they said that.

I walked around the bushes, seeing other stores. I saw one store that seemed to have more... "Modern", I guess, clothing. But behind the store, there was another store, I believe a food court. More of a risk there, but I had no other choice...at the time of thought.

I ran across the traffic, hearing some cars honk, and getting across to the other side. I didn't know what to do next thinking enough; I crouched behind a table, looking around. I went forward, hoping no one would notice. Then, all of a sudden, someone kicked me hard in the back. I looked back, seeing a tan human, having a small beard and moustache, his hair gelled up.

"¡Quítate de aquí!" He yelled out. "¡Pinche culero!" I freaked out, not knowing what to say back. I still have no idea what he said, but I ran away inside the store I wanted to go.

Inside, I found clothing that most people wore. I quickly walked over to one of the stalls, having clothing there, some folded, some in hangars. I looked over to where one person was behind a machine. I soon found out that it was a cash register. I realized they used a currency to buy their clothing they wanted.

I don't have any money... I thought. Got to find another way... I looked at the clothing there was there, finding a sky blue sweatshirt and green cargo shorts. There was no one near me, and there was nothing on the ceiling. I ripped off the tags of the clothing, and quickly put them on. I kept tugging and adjusting. They feel stuffy... I thought ...but if this is what they wear...then I'll just go with it, I guess. I walked out of the store, and walked left from it.

I looked around, seeing how I blended in. Some of the people seemed to be human, some others being animal-like, similarly to me...and my community. The only difference: they live here, different than where I lived. I stopped and saw a stand showing a map, beside it being a sign that said "Bus Local 34".

I looked at the map, seeing a red dot on a large area with lines, the city I was in, on the map. It said, "You Are Here": Divine Central. Apparently that was the place I'm in. The top of the map stand said a word: "Delta". I was in the city of 'Delta' of Powerage.

I then looked down below the map, seeing another island below it. The top of it said, "Annex Rival". The left side of the island said on top "Oasis Sinistra" while the right said "Desert Dexterous". The middle of the island, that seemed to be a borderline of the two, was a darker green than 'Oasis Sinistra' with the center blue, "Lake Rival". The darker green was called "Rivalry Forest".

Rivalry Forest... I thought. I thought of it long enough when a bus came it. I turned to it, looking at the bus driver who opened the door. I walked several steps away from the bus, seeing it drive off. I looked at the map again, seeing Rivalry Forest again. It seemed to be a little far away from Delta, but it seemed local enough.

"Alright," I said to myself, "Just have to find a way to get there." Thinking for a while, and seeing someone walk close by, I decided to try to talk. Luckily, it was a woman.

I waited until she came close. I slightly walked up to her, and asked, "Um, excuse me--"

"Yes?" she asked. She was in a half cut no sleeve pink shirt and in a low cut skirts halfway the upper thigh. She had black and white fur, wasn't sure what she was. She had her hand on her thigh, leaning on one side.

"Um, you know where I can get to..." I looked over to the map, "...Rivalry--" I looked back to her, "--Forest?"

"Oh, yeah," she stood up straight and pointed back from where she walked from. "Just go over there until you reach the docks. A ship should still be there, heading towards there."

"Okay," I responded, "Thank you."

"You know..." she said, "...You're kind of cute." She smiled a little bit. I didn't know what to say, I only blushed.

"U-um...thank you," I smiled and laughed a bit. That was probably the first time someone said that. She laughed a bit also.

"You're not from around here are you?" she leaned on her side again. I scratched my head, looking slightly away.

"Um, not really..." I said. I looked at her again.

"Well, I'm Myla. And you?"

"I-I'm Leon. Leonardo. B-but you can call me Leon."

"Alright, Leon. Well, I gotta go to work. I'll see you later, okay?"

"Alright," I smiled.

She waved then said, "Bye!" She smiled and walked on. I stared at her for a bit, seeing her curled up tail, the outside black and the inside white. I don't remember what happened next, just that she disappeared on me. I looked at the direction she pointed to earlier, and ran off towards the point.

Jake stopped running after a while, looking up at the sky. The sun was heading south from its highest point. It was afternoon, probably by several hours. He looked around to where he was, finding medium sized trees and bushes. He looked into a bush, finding a small yellow fruit. He picked on and ate it.

"Hm," he hummed out, "Sweet." After chewing it for a while, he said "...And a little sour." He swallowed the fruit, about to pick another. The one he was about to pick fell from the bush, landed on a leaf. He saw the fruit pop, seeing the leaf decay. He thought about it for a minute. ...I'll let the body risk it he thought. He picked another of the fruits and ate it.

He looked up at the sun again, wondering if he should go any further. "I still have time..." he said to himself, "Just have to move on." He started to run forward again, seeing where he would reach to next. He was a swift fox, faster than I was, dodging through the trees and logs that were in his way. He reached to closer to the city in a little more than half the time I took to get there.

"I just hope he's not gone from this world...gone from me."
