My Heart
Poem
If I offered to you my heart,
Would you promise to keep it safe
And always make it warm?
If I offered to you my heart,
Would you promise not to ruin it
And always make it race?
If I offered to you my heart,
In it's entirety, every broken bit of me
Would you promise to never let it go?
And if to me you offered your's in return,
Know that I would treat it just like my own.
I'd hold it in between my hands
As precious as it is to keep
And place it safely inside my chest
Where it belongs,
So it'll never be too far from me.
