The Protector chapter 3: A New World and Back Again
As the two dragons stood in front of the hotel, garis couldn't help to notice what kie was wearing. "what are you wearing kie?" garis asked, kie looked down at his robes. "oh this.... these are traditional robes." kie responded. garis tilted his head. "so... where is this meeting...?" garis aked kie. kie nodded "you'll see..." kie smiled. "c'mon lets fly," garis insisted. "yea of course!" kie started to fly and ascend. garis followed. kie hugged garis. "k...kie whats... wrong?" kie smiled. "n... nothing garis... i... just need you close to do this... tenmo hioshi..." "clo...close for wha-" as garis spoke, a light surrounded the both of them. "k... kie...! what... what's happening...?!" garis asked in fear. Kie smiled. "you'll see." he smiled as he ascended even higher. "k... kie isn't this... a little too high...!?" in fear garis stared at kie as they ascended to the atmosphere. "don't worry garis, we'll be fine" kie smiled. "o... oh... ok..." garis stuttered in fear.
the dragons ascended into orbit and then... space. garis held his breathe. "garis, it's ok we can breathe in the aura." kie chuckled. garis exhaled. "kie, wh... where are... we going... exactley....?" garis asked. kie smiled. "ashi- seyko- mentorei- inta" kie chanted. and the dragons had moved through space at the speed of light. "there they are" kie pointed as they reached three planets orbiting a sun. "k..kie what are those...." garis stared in amazement. "this is the keon system, kion the home of the dragon, fion the home of the wolf, and sion home of the tiger." kie explained "so i'm from kion then, i new i was out of this world but i didn't mean it litterally..." garis chuckled. "well... your from earth, it's just that normally most dragons' family trees lead back to here." kie explained as they descended to kion. they soon landed in a field, and there a city stand not to far from that field. "c'mon let's fly to the city garis." garis nodded. they flew to the city center. "k...kie this place is amazing!" garis glared at the city. kie pointed at a main street. "look up the main road, there is where the palace is." they went to the palace gates. "garis there someone i want you to meet." kie smiled. "who would that be?" kie opened the doors to the palace as garis responded.
there a fully blue dragon, stood in the main hall. he turned around. "kie good to see you again. oh and it looks like you brought a friend." he approached garis. "hi... i'm garis, kie's protector." "ahh a protector, well i'm kieron, the dragon king." he smiled "drag...on king.... kie... you could of told me i was talking to a king.... sorry your majesty if i disrespected you..." garis bowed his head a little in apollogy. kie chuckled. "you don't have to be sorry, you were just introducing your self weren't you, no need to be sorry." kieron smiled. garis nodded. "kie... so what's this meeting about any way?" kie jumped in fear. "well.... it.. uhh.... we.... i'm doing a free for all..." kie explained. "great! i said i would protect you, and you go off getting into fight!!! what kind of protector am i!!??" he yells in anger. "don't worry garis, there are healers in kieron's family, that are gonna be there, so if something did happen they could heal us." kie explained, grabbing garis's arms. "f... Fine.... but i want in..." kie jumps. "wh... what!!??" " oh let him kie it's just a spar." kieron insisted. kie nodded "follow me." kieron insisted, and they followed.
"so... are there going to be weapons there, or do we just use our fists...?" garis asked. kieron turned around and handed him what looked like only a handle. "wha... what am i suppoussed to do with this!?" garis asked in confusion. "it's a photon shifter, it can change to any weapon with just your thought." kieron explained. kie pulled one out too as he made it turn into a bladed staff. "that's so awesome! Let me try." garis exclamed. garis then concentrated and the handle had turn to a double blade with strange draconic carvings in it. "wow it looks exactley like mine." garis smiled.
they entered the courtyard, and there five others stand. there was a three women, they looked like humans.... but with strange features, one had blue hair and very large pointy ears, almost like an elf. another with short red hair and she had tiger ears. and finally a woman with long white hair and wolf ears. and a white wolf standing next to a red tiger, they were males from garis's notice. they were all wearing the same robe as kie. the woman with long white hair and wolf ears approached garis. "so, your kie's protector?" she examined him "i'm jihero..." she turned around "consider this a one on one spar, me and garis first." she walked to the center of the court yard. "c'mon lets go!" she yelled to garis.
garis entered the center of the courtyard. readying his weapon, and he concentrates for his oppenents first strike, he noticed that she hasn't unsheethed her katana. "well what are you waiting for!?" she yells to garis. garis clentches his fist and he throws his double blade at her from one angle, and he jumps at her from another. she catches the double blade, but garis punched her in the side of the face. she did not move or even blink, she just looked at him with her eyes. garis grabbed his blade and jumped back, he opened his eyes wide. "holy crap she must be strong...." "i must say... you have a strong arm" she chuckled a bit. she then unsheathed her katana. garis looked over at kie. "kie, your not the only one who can use energy..." garis started to chant a ancient draconic language and his double blade started to burn with fire. kie opens his eyes wide. "g...garis...." kie trembled "hmph Don't get cocky!" she jumped at garis and cut him down the middle. "GARIS!!!" kie screamed. although jihero cut him down the middle, the rest of his body disappeared. "what, an illusion?" garis jumped at her from behind, but she had jumped. "hmph you want to play a game of deceive, ok fine" she created nine shadows, and they turned into clones. garis jumped back into the air, and they all circled around his landing zone and they jumped up with there blades at the ready.
garis started to chant and the flame around the double blade turned into a large ring of flame. all of the clones were killed, jihero jumped from behind garis trying to cut his neck. garis had kicked jihero back. "danm, you know what... now you'll get a taste the true power of the wolf!" she yelled in anger. then a dark shadow appeared and a wolf appeared. "now.... DIE!!" the wolf teleported behind garis and bit his leg holding him in place. "ha take this!" she came down trying to cut his throat. Garis saw an oppurtunity, so he chanted making his double blade upto a flame that reached one thousand degrees. he stabbed the wolf with one end and pointed it at jihero with the other. jihero with no time to react, had gotten stabbed by the heated blade. she jumped back and kneeled in pain. "Damnit! how could i be.. bested by you...! i... i can't.... go... on..." every one stared in amazement. jihero had fallen, and she passed out. every one ran to her aid. "the fire... it's in her blood stream, get her to the aid room!" kieron demanded.
garis had approached kie who was staring in fear. "i'm sorry kie, i should have told you..." garis said to kie.... but kie shook his head. "do you fear me because of my power?" kie shook his head. "when i was in the military, my martial arts master tought me ways to channel energy, so that is why i can do what i just did." garis explained as kie nodded. "oh... i see.... well the-" kie looked in fear. "what.. is it kie? are... you ok?" asked garis. kie didn't respond he just trembled in fear. "kie...?" then a light flashed.
garis was in a white void. "where am i... Kie! WHERE ARE YOU!" garis yelled out. then a strange voice with multiple voices inside of it responded. "garis..." a shadow of a dragon appeared. "kie!?" garis yelled. as the dragon got closer garis noticed that it was kie, but it had a 2nd pair of wings and also had complete blue eyes, no pupils, no whites. "so you are the protector of kie..." spoke kie. "k.. kie are you ok...?!" garis asked in confusion. "i thank you garis for watching over kie. but now you must return home."
"k...kie what are you talking about!?" garis yells. "i'm sorry garis, but i now pernounce you no longer of kiesenrio meirone wensima. now return to earth." and in that instant garis had woken up in the tavern inn room.
"oh man, no more sleeping at taverns any more..." garis had gotten out of bed and gotten dressed. the bartender knocked on the door. "hey, the tow truck is here." said the bartender. garis nods "alright i'm coming." he looks down at his feet. "that couldn't have been a dream.... it felt so real..." the tow truck honked the horn. garis had left the room, and saw the bartender as he was heading for the door. "hey man thank you so much." garis smiled "don't mention it." the bartender responded. garis had opened the door and left the tavern. "wow, it's brighter then it was last night..." garis had gotten in the tow truck as it honked the horn. "hey, hows it goin?" said the truck driver. garis nodded. "alright ill take ya home." said the truck driver. garis had looked out the back window of the truck, there his car was hooked on to tthe back of the truck. they had drove off.
as the truck, pulled up garis's street, he thought to himself, "so, it really was a dream.... wasn't it...." the truck pulled up in front of his house, garis got out of the car. "hey, someone will drop off your car tomorrow." said the truck driver. garis nodded and waved, as the truck drove away. he walks to his front door, and unlocked the door. there he walked into his living room and the t.v. was on the news. it caught his attention imediately.
"the city is being attacked by these things, this monsters... any one who is still in the city, must evacuate now, i repeat, anyone who is listening or watching you must get out of the city now!!!" said the reporter on the news.
garis's eyes widened, and he felt in his pockets, two plasma clips. "sonya..." garis mumbled. he ran to his safe, and unlocked it. there he had taken two pistols and a double blade, and he dashed for the door. as he was running off his porch he noticed there was a note, sitting at the top stair. he grabbed it and opened it. "garis... some destinies are ment to be broken... i will see you again some day... i promise... because you are my protector." the note said. "kie..." garis whispered to himself.
as he ran down his street in the direction towards the city he mumbled to himself. "i will see you again kie, because i am the protector, and i will protect any one from evil, starting here"
