The sun beating down on them hard, the rays making the sand seem to sizzle and pop every few seconds, the young wind dragon in Brandon's arms watched as the human would pant, his face drenched in sweat, so to help in any sort of way, she blew her wings over his face causing him to smile.

"Thanks...wait; I don't even know your name..." the girl smiled softly and then answered.

"My name is Saki," she told him asBrandonsmiled, still walking forward until Ceratius fell on his hands and knees', panting loudly as he then was stood back up by Grim who was equal as deprived of water.

"We're going to need to refill our water cans or else we'll be pouring blood from our eyes!"Brandonhad to agree with him, taking the map from his pack, he traced his finger and tapped on the map.

"There's an oasis just down there," he pointed ahead. "Just more then maybe ten minutes at the most." Nodding their heads, they made their way over, and true enough, there was one there, not large or anything, but it had a lot of water, and it looked deep. Setting Saki down, they all went to the water, filling their canteens to the rim and then dunking their heads in to drink the water as much as they could, Saki looked to them and then copied what thy were doing, and when she came back for air, she laughed for the first time, the others laughed as well, sitting back in the shade, enjoying the peace for a moment.

"So where are you three going?" asked Saki as Grim looked over to speak to her while moving closer to her.

"We are going to Albana to get you to your family, but also to get something for me."

"What's that?" she asked as the dragon smiled.

"To get myself a Knight Gem." The young dragoness eyes grew wide, she had always wanted to see a Knight close up, she had seen a few from far off when they came in for a show for a duel, but other then that she never seen them. "You see, I helpedBrandonget his own Knight, that's hisArkon his arm right now,"Brandonlifted his arm to show the young one hisArkas her eyes grew wider. "And he wanted to help me get here to get my own Gem so I can become a Pacemaker as well."

"I heard that becoming a Knight is very hard though?" Saki asked looking between the dragon and the human. "Was it hard?"

"By ourselves, it might have been,"Brandonanswered while nodding with his arms crossed. "But always remember this Saki, when you work with others, almost nothing is impossible!" Ceratius looked listened as he drank from his canteen before filling it up, Grim then looking at him and moving to his side to drink as well as Brandon and Saki talked, laughing as the young feather wing dragoness splashed him with water.

"I know you are a Pacemaker as well Ceratius," the dragon spoke not looking at him, Ceratius didn't look up at him ether, just looking straight ahead toward the water. "But what I don't understand, why did you not easily transform to fight the Magi with Brandon and I?"

"It's..." he stammered looking down at his water canteen as he closed his eyes, all he could see when closing his eyes were red flames, he could hear the screams of people around him, snapping his eyes opened he held his chest, his hand turning into a fist.

"Hey you two!" the two looked over to see Saki and Brandon standing up. "We should go now, before it gets dark out!" Grim nodded and turned to Grim one last time and spoke so the other human couldn't hear.

"I will not tellBrandon," he answered. "But I do want to know why one day, that's all." Ceratius only nodded his head as the two stood up,Brandontaking lead as they made their way toward the city.

Luckily for them, it was the time of the season where there were barely if not any wild monsters around, so if they did see one, one of the three would go out and kill it or they would walk around said monster to get to the village, once at the north gate, they were about to go inside when they stopped by two toads, about as high as Saki was, green and wearing grey robes with a necklace around each of their neck. They both almost looked the same, like twins in a way.

"Oy!" one of them cried. "Who goes there eh, what do ya want?"

"We're just here to do a few things is all," Ceratius answered with a nod.

"Here to see the Don no doubt, well fat chance of that happening!" the three looked to each other, with raised eyebrows.

"Yeah!" the second toad answered waving his finger at the group. "I mean lookie here; we have a dragon, a wind dragoness and two humans! What kind of group is that, we don't let just about anyone in here...wait a second..." the toad looked to Brandon who blinked when it came closer. Then grabbing his arm where hisArkwas and looking it up and down. "Oy!" he cried. "He's a Pacemaker he is!"

"A Pacemaker, this human?" the other toad came over and looked at theArkas well before they moved away and started to mutter to themselves. "You think he could do it?" the second toad asked as the first one shrugged.

"Not to sure mate," he answered looking at the human and then back to his brother. "I mean...he looks kinda weak, and the Don needs this now..."

"Yeah, but at least we're not paying for it with our skin."

"True...alright," he cleared his throat and turned back to the group. "Sorry about that, after much figuring out, we think that you may enter, IF you do a favor for the Don."

"A favor?" asked Grim as the two nodded.

"Yeah, yeah, you see, those Magi folks have been seen around these parts lately, and well, the Don don't like them very much, so we want that human," he pointed to Brandon. "To go and bust them up really good like yeah?"

"By...myself?" asked the confused human as the toads laughed.

"Not unless your friends want to go with you, other then that, yes, we'll let you in the city for a moment to get whatever you need, but other then that, you can't see the Don, alright?"

Once inside the city, and onceBrandonagreed to their terms, Saki looked around the city, having been here a lot, she went on ahead with the group behind her. In the middle of the main part of the city, two wind dragons, one that was all black with white feathers and the other white with black feathers were seen, they wore grand looking clothing, and their wings had rings around the edge.

"Uncle and auntie!" the young wind dragon squealed and ran toward them, the two looked over and they too cried, but in joy as the female bent down and picked up her niece hugging her and crying as Saki too started to cry. The large male wind dragon made his way toward the two also hugging them as the group of three smiled slightly at the show before them, Grim nudging the two human's arms as he pointed with his snout for them to go, untilBrandonfelt a tug at his hand. Looking down he saw Saki, how she got there from her families arms was a mystery to him, but he knelt down all the same to look at her eye to eye. "Where are you going nowBrandon?" she asked tilting her head as the other wind dragons made their way toward them.

"We have our little errand to do," he answered the young feather winged beast. "Then after we get what we need, we'll be off back home."

"Will I ever see you three again?"

Brandonlooked back at Grim and Ceratius hopping they could help him out on the answer. They didn't say anything asBrandonsighed and looked back at her.

"Maybe one day Saki," he answered. "But listen, you behave yourself alright?"

"I will," she beamed the first real smile he seen from her as he smiled.

"Thank you,"Brandonlooked up to meet with the uncle. "We knew something happened to my sister and her mate, and we feared the worst, not many would do what you three did."

"We couldn't just leave her there alone now could we?" the human answered as the back feather body dragon smiled.

"True, we are in debt of you three," he bowed his head slightly while the aunt also did the same thing. "If you wish, why not spend the day to refresh before doing you next mission?"

"That is most great of you," Grim answered walking up. "But we must hurry and do our little side mission to meet with the Don of this city."

"The Don, you mean Don Phazer?" Grim only shrugged as the two looked to them and then nodded to each other. "Follow us then."

"Ah, I see then..."Brandon, Grim, Ceratius, Saki with her family all stood before a very large deep red toad, and by large, he was very, very large. They couldn't even see the back of the wall he was sitting in front of. His body laced in very expensed looking clothing. His mouth so large no doubt he could eat everyone in the room in one gulp, Saki's uncle brought the group before the Don, bowing as they all did as well just to be safe, explaining what was told toBrandonabout the Magi. "No, there are no Magi around here, you see," he sated while sighing, his booming voice echoing around the gold like room. "Those two are my sons, always trying humans to stay out of here, as you may have noticed, you and that other one are the only humans here, for that I am sorry." He grumbled. "I'll deal with them later, but, I would also like to thank you for helping my dear friends' here be once more reunited with their little niece."

"It was no problem Lord Phazer,"Brandonanswered crossing his arm over his chest and bowing forward. His left arm behind him as he did so. "We could not leave Saki alone in those tunnels."

"Yes, so true, but, such a help should not go without a reward," he glazed his short stubby arm to the right and left, a vast hoard of treasures easily seen. "One of you may pick whatever you wish from my hoard, each one are so much, that you could make your own city if you so wished."Brandonlooked to Grim, nodding is head as the dragon walked up and bowed forward.

"Don Phazer," he spoke looking up at him. "Do you have any Knight's Gem?" the toad blinked his large black eye and then laughed heartily.

"Do I? Why yes I do my black scale friend, you wish to become a Pacemaker as well as your friend?" Grim nodded as Phazer thought for a moment before nodding. "Then I know the right one for you then." Snapping his fingers, two toads looking almost like his sons came from as if nowhere, he spoke in a tongue no one but they could understand the two toads nodded and ran off, coming back with a box and brought it to Grim. They opened the box to show three different Gems, one was larger then the others which were smaller by a bit, almost so small that he could easily cover them with his claws; all were a deep blood red. "These use to be one of the same Gems," Phazer spoke while nodding his head. "But, as my father once told me, the one who made these spilt them for a reason unknown even to him, considered them yours."

"Thank you sir," he bowed again as the toad laughed slightly.

"Well, then, will you be staying at our city for the while? That cat women might help you make yourArkfor you."

"Cat women?" askedBrandonas Phazer nodded.

"Yes, I believe her name was...Flameiod yes, that's her name!"

"What do you mean I didn't pay for a place to stay? Of course I did!" Ceratius had waited outside for he thought this was a job for onlyBrandonand Grim, as the two came in, Flameiod was busy yelling at another cat like human, her tail trashing behind her. "My name is Flameiod you hear me?!"

"I think everyone beyond the ocean can hear you," Grim pointed out as the women turned around and blinked.

"Oh its you two, did you get your Gem then?" Grim nodded showing her the Gems he got as she only nodded as the brown cat women cleared her throat.

"Well yes, I am sorry, we have your name here, so sorry miss."

"Yeah you better, you two come with me then!" she pointed toBrandonand Grim who shrugged and followed her up the stairs. Once in her room, she closed the door and then took Grim's Gems to look at them. "Hrm, yes I can easily make these into a new kind ofArkI've been thinking of, give me a moment, I just need to make up theArkthen you can go in."

"I'll help you Grim,"Brandonanswered as Flameiod shook her head.

"No, you have anArkand a Knight, the Void will not allow you in now, and so only he may go." Grim only nodded as she went in the back room to start to work on hisArkasBrandonlooked to Grim with a look of worry on his face,

"Hey no worry, I'll be fine," he answered. "Now that I know how to easily beat them, I can do it alone." His human friend sighed softly again and just Flameiod came back with three different parts.

One being what looked to be a grey collar, the red gem easily in the middle, not hanging loose, the other two, claw like gloves, each with a gem on the top hand. She past the three parts to Grim, who set each one of the right part of his body. He flexed his claws, getting use to the feeling as Flameiod nodded her head as she then went to another room and bringing out a small device.

"This right here will allow you to go inside the Void," she told him. "It only has enough power for one time, so when you beat the Knight, get out of there fast understand?" the dragon nodded his head as the cat women pressed the button as Void portal made its way out of the small device and stood before Grim, who gave one last look to Brandon, and then made his way inside.

Outside, Ceratius waited for the two, Brandon coming out and standing beside him, telling him Grim was in the Void now, no doubt fighting the Knight even a they spoke, and they would have to wait for him now. The staff human nodded his head crossing his arms until he noticed some of the toads running toward the Don's place while screaming.

"Why are the funny toads running?" Saki asked, having waited with the humans as well, she got her answer as a loud roar was heard, the three looking over to see three Gigas run toward them all, all looking the same, a dark purple like shark body with large swords.Brandoneyes narrowed as he looked to Ceratius who only nodded his head sharply asBrandonran forward to the three large monsters before him, bringing his right arm up showing hisArkas Saki watched, she would now not only see a Knight up close, but see one fight!

"Oh Greydor," he spoke his Knight's name. "Wielder of the large blade, grant me your power," he brought his left hand behind him as he got into a battle like stance. "Verto!" he cried slamming his hand over the Gem as it glowed, once more the circle of magic seen around him as he floated to the air, and then, his Blue Knight with the large blade in hand came to view. "Alright!" he cried with his hollow like voice. "Bring it!"

Grim stood at the ready, his blades out as he looked toward the Knight before him with determination in his eyes, the Knight before him was grey just like when they fought Brandon's one, but unlike Brandon, this one had wings on it's back and a long muzzle, as if each Knight knew what they were going to fight. Spreading his wings, Grim shot forward, covering his body in a body of flames as he tackled the Knight head on, the Knight's own blades much like Grim's shot forward to slash at him, but they missed as Grim slammed into its body, the Knight going backwards as Grim broke free and then went for the attacks, slashing and cutting trying to go for the weakness that was the Gem. But this Knight was far smarter then the other one, for it would block or parry the attack anytime the dragon got too close. But Grim would not give up, landing back on the ground; he brought his blades to the ground, clapping his claws together as he closed his eyes, his body started to glow a deep black, what seemed to be black flames licking around his body could be seen, the Knight running toward him for the last attack that would kill Grim, the dragon opened his eyes and roared shooting his hands forward as a set of black hands shot out and went though the chest of the Knight, right where the Gem was.

Fall on his knees, Grim was tried, that sort of attack took a lot out of him, and as he looked up, he was greeted by a spirit of Black and Red, looking much like a dragon.

"Wielder of thyArk," it spoke in a much deeper male voice then whenBrandonfought with his own. "Do thus wishes to form a pact my Master?" Grim stood up and walked forward a bit before nodding his head.

"Yes I do," he answered as the Knight Spirit then looked up to him.

"Then take my power Master, and use it as thy see fit, I shall grant thy with power no matter what thy path he chooses." And like before, the Spirit glowed and became nothing but light, flying right into Grim's Arks as he shuddered at the feeling before falling over on his knees to get a quick breather.

Brandon stumbled backwards, landing on his knee as he held his large blade in hand, even with his Knight, fighting these three was starting to be a pain for him, he felt his power slowly leaving him, he seemed almost done for until one of the Gigas backed away as a fire blast was seen.Brandonlooked over slightly, seeing Grim walking forward, his Arks being now a deep Blood red with a bit of black for the outline.

"Seems you could use some help there buddy," he grinned asBrandononly grunted as he stood up.

"If you don't mind that is,"Brandonsnorted as he got ready as the Gigas all roared as Grim smiled crossing his arms over his head like a big X.

"Blood Fang, wielder of the dueling blades," a large red circle of magic came below his feet like whenBrandonstarted to transform. "Grant me your power, Verto!" he then shot his arms down while uncrossing them over the Gem around his neck, a flashing light was seen as he was lifted off the ground, eyes closed, he clapped his hands together as a even brighter light was seen, and then a large earth shaking thud as the newly Pacemaker was before everyone to see. A little big Larger thenBrandon's own Knight, the muzzle of the dragon and wings as wide as its body, but yet still able to fly, he opened his blood red eyes as from behind his back he drew two blades much like his own when he was smaller, but these one showed black blades with gold writing. The three Gigas slowly backed away and growled softly as Grim helpedBrandonback to his feet as they looked to each other. "Let's show these bastards what we can do!" Grim roared and flew forward with his blades out asBrandonran forward with his own. The battle had begun.
