Last time on David's battle with Roark, Latios battled Geodude; what's fortunate and unfortunate is that the battle ended up in a tie. It's a good thing that David can at least still battle, the bad thing is that the second round wasn't his win and still has to battle against the Rock Gym Leader. ..........

(Treecko's POV)

I didn't even know what to think of at this point. All that's going on about my turn in the battlefield made me feel excited, yet, very nervous at the same time. I mean, this is a big event for me and David. Sure I've battled a lot of trainer's Pokémon in the past with David, and I've been getting better, but the thing is that this is a GYM battle. The gym leader is supposed to know what's best in a battle from what I've heard.

It's not that I'm not confident in winning in this upcoming battle, but still... one slip up could end the whole battle for me and David. We've trained too hard to come this far and we're not going to go down that easily.

I've come a long way from being a scared little Treecko to someone who has more self-confident lately. I don't want to let everyone down since I'm not this Pokémon that just takes a hit and doesn't do a thing about it anymore. That's who I used to be ever since I was with my abusive trainer before I met David and his Pokémon, I never want to be that kind of Treecko again; I'm a better Treecko now. Even though I don't want to let everyone down, most importantly, I don't want to let myself down. I want to overcome who I used to be and become a better Pokémon, and I know I have so far, but this battle is gonna help me prove myself that I can be skilled in battle just like every other Pokémon and be able to fight back.

All that's happening so far, I can't do it without David and his Pokémon, Latias, Latios, and even Lucario that helped me along the way. My family is with them, not that... 'trainer'. If I were still with him and his Pokémon, then I would still probably be a scared helpless Treecko who can't defend himself; to be honest I probably would be dead at this point if I was still with that abusive trainer and his Pokémon. I'm glad that I have someone like David to look after me and will be beside me whenever I need help.

But anyways I have a battle I need to do... I just hope that it won't be as brutal since David told me not long ago that whenever the gym leader is down to his or her last Pokémon, it's usually their best in their team. I felt a shiver running up my spine just thinking about how big and strong this Pokémon I'm about to battle. I hope I know what I'm getting myself into. I have a feeling something's gonna happen in this last battle... and what scares me is that I don't know what that will be.

..........

(Normal POV)

David gave a small smile at the Gecko Pokémon and pets his head for a brief moment before standing back up and set his eyes on the rock Gym leader, "I've choose my last Pokémon, Roark." The trainer said before pointing out towards the battlefield, indicating for Treecko to head into the battle grounds. The Gecko Pokémon jumps off from the large block of stone he and the trainer was on, landing on their side of the battlefield.

At the site of Treecko, Roark's expression was rather stunned; the fact that David is using a Treecko to battle the last round. He thought to himself that it wasn't quite a smart idea from the trainer, but he guessed that he didn't have any other Pokémon with him at the time since he didn't take out anymore Pokeballs from his belt.

The gym leader soon came back to his composure before speaking, "Well I must say that this is a rather... interesting choice you decided, using a Treecko and all." He half lied, to him it was a rather idiotic choice to make he admits to himself; he didn't want to be rude to the trainer so he kept it to himself.

David knows the tone Roark was using and he was aware that maybe Treecko wasn't the best choice to use, but it's not like he had other options since he choices of Pokémon to use were limited. However even though Treecko just looks like this puny Pokémon, he knows the Gecko Pokémon is more capable in battling now. Plus they were training hard to get this far, so that counts for something at least.

'I just hope all that training pays off.' David thought while he continues glancing at the rock gym leader.

Roark then shook his head and chuckles to himself in amusement, "Well I'm not certain how this battle will end since you probably have something up your sleeve. But no matter, me and Rampardos will win this final battle!" He shouted before throwing his Pokeball into the battlegrounds. It wasn't long before the Pokeball bounces off the ground and opens, having a flash of white light coming out of the ball and it reveals a very large Rampardos, well, very large to a certain Gecko Pokémon.

Shortly, the Head Butt Pokémon, Rampardos, began looking back and forth as if it was looking for its opponent. It felt quite confused and lets out an annoying grunt, feeling that maybe it's trainer is playing a joke on it.

"U-Um... d-down here." Said the Gecko Pokémon and gave a little wave towards the Rampardos, which it looks down.

It wasn't long before the Head Butt Pokémon lets out a chuckle, "Heh... hey there little pipsqueak, looks like someone's a little lost." It said, sounding male, as he gave a menacing grin. By doing so Treecko shivers a bit, but tries to keep his composure.

"A-And it looks like it's you who's lost." The Gecko Pokémon taunted back, but this made Rampardos chuckle even more.

"Hehe, cute..." The Head Butt Pokémon said as this cause Treecko to let out a small growl.

"Don't let him get to you Treecko!" David called out while feeling a bit nervous about this last battle.

"Getting a little apprehensive are we?" The Rock gym leader said, still having his confident smirk planted on his face. The trainer grits his teeth a bit from seeing how Roark was right that he was quite nervous.

It wasn't long before the referee arrives back and heads back to his spot, "Alright your Latias and Latios are getting patched up from Nurse Joy as we speak." He told the trainer as he nods as in thanks. "Alright I see that you two have chosen your last Pokémon?" The referee asked while both the trainer and gym leader nods.

'My goodness I just want to get this over with. I wonder how Marcus had it easy when fighting Roark because he's quite the challenge I must admit.' David thought to himself while anticipation begins building up once again from having to battle Roark's last Pokémon, Rampardos. 'Wonder how Treecko is feeling right now...'

'Oh my Arceus-oh my Arceus-oh my Arceus-oh my Arceus-oh my Arceus-' The Gecko Pokémon only thought as it kept repeating in his head. Aside from Treecko's abusive trainer's Pokémon, this is the biggest and toughest Pokémon he will have to face. He's beginning to have his doubts about himself being able to defeat this Head Butt Pokémon. 'But I gotta at least try, how will I prove myself if I can't exceed a challenge like this?' He thought before getting rid of the shakiness in his body and took his battle stance, hoping that he won't be too beat up to badly once this battle is over.

"Alright this is the last battle; we have the gym leader Roark and his Rampardos facing against the challenger, David and his Treecko. Whoever wins this battle wins the whole battle." The referee announced while having his arm up high once again for the last time, looking both ways, glancing at Roark and his Pokémon, then towards David and Treecko. Silence was in the air as suspense builds up, everyone not saying a word as they wait for what's about to come. So with one chop through the air the referee shouts, "BEGIN!"

The gym leader didn't waste any time once the final battle has started, "Rampardos use Zen Headbutt!" He shouted before the Head Butt Pokémon responded by his skull and eyes begin to glow blue and becomes surrounded in a light blue reflective shield. Giving a loud roar Rampardos starts charging towards the Gecko Pokémon, head first.

"Whoa, Treecko dodge that quick!" David called out while seeing Rampardos' attack coming towards Treecko at a very fast pace. The Gecko Pokémon was hesitant at first from seeing the intimating Pokémon charging towards him, but he heard his trainer and jumps off to the side, barely escaping the attack.

The attack didn't stop for Rampardos since he's running too fast to stop into a complete halt; thus ramming his head into a boulder that was in his way, making a rather loud crushing sound that was created from the impact.

"Yes, Treecko hurry use Quick Attack!" The trainer shouted before the Gecko Pokémon quickly respond to the command and then ran all on fours at high speed towards Rampardos, who has his head inside the boulder from the Zen Headbutt; there was a white glow behind the Gecko's trails as he ran towards Rampardos. Soon Treecko slam himself against the larger Pokémon's leg, causing the Head Butt Pokémon to groan a bit from the attack, stumbling a bit as he's left off balance and causing him to fall on his side with a loud thud.

"Rampardos get up!" Roark ordered, but once giving out that command, he can see the Head Butt Pokémon having trouble getting up, due to have such small arms. Rampardos groans as he tries to get up, making him kick his legs with his body squirming, but it wasn't doing any good.

"Treecko before Rampardos gets up; use Pound on its face!" David said to the Gecko Pokémon. Thus, having him ran towards the Head Butt Pokémon; soon jumps and does a sharp spin, making his tail go hit full force right against Rampardos' face, getting a successful hit as the Head Butt Pokémon lets out a irritated roar.

'Yes! This is going great so far! We might get a chance to win this battle after all!' Treecko thought to himself with excitement; soon landing back on his feet, getting ready for his trainer to give out another command.

"Use Pound again!" David shouted before the Gecko Pokémon does what his trainer said and jumps up to hit Rampardos' face again with his dark green tail.

"Woo, go Treecko!" Marcus shouted from the seats, cheering the Gecko Pokémon on, even Chad clapped and began cheering for the little Pokémon. As for a certain Aura Pokémon, she looked rather impressed and was pretty entertained from the battle.

'Hmm, looks like that training Treecko has been though is certainly showing good progress.' Lucario thought while she continues watching the battle before her, shifting a bit in her seat while adjusting some of her bandages; which she's still pretty pissed off from the one who caused this, briefly glancing over at the Flame Pokémon to give a glare before she turn her attention back to the battle.

"Treecko another Pound!" David called out, sounding more confident as his doubts in this battle slowly begin to subside, seeing that they're making progress. Even though that Treecko's attacks are not that strong, the amounts of hits will add up. So the Gecko Pokémon runs up to the downed Head Butt Pokémon again to attempt to land another hit as he jumps up towards Rampardos.

"Flamethrower." Roark said while having a slight smirk planted on his face.

'Oh no...' David thought with dread. He forgotten that Rampardos can use Flamethrower, but remembering back then when he was in the real world playing on his DS, he was aware that Rampardos had Flamethrower. 'How can I be so foolish?' He thought to himself before shouting, "Treecko sto-"

"Too late to stop him now!" The gym leader declared, cutting off the trainer's words.

It wasn't long before the Head Butt Pokémon eventually got up, "Grr, you're gonna pay for that little pipsqueak." He said while growling though his teeth, getting in position as the Gecko Pokémon was still airborne as he was heading towards the large Pokémon at the same time. Small flames were coming out of Rampardos' mouth, building up heat as it dramatically kept growing.

It feels that everything is going in slow motion, with Rampardos about to use Flamethrower while Treecko kept getting closer and closer towards the Head Butt Pokémon. With that being said, Rampardos soon releases a red-orange stream of fire from his mouth at his opponent. The only thing that could be heard was...

"AHHHHH!!!" The most agony scream people and Pokémon would hear in their life... the source was coming from the Gecko Pokémon, getting a direct hit of Rampardos' Flamethrower. And knowing that Grass types are weak against Fire type attacks, Treecko would be taking a lot of damage.

"Treecko, no!" David shouted with worry from seeing such a thing happening before his eyes. Watching the Gecko Pokémon fall on the battle grounds with a small thud, laying on his stomach with scorch marked all over his body, looking almost lifeless.

"Oh no!" Marcus said while standing up from his seat while Chad let out a little groan of sympathy for the Gecko Pokémon. Heck, even Lucario felt a bit concerned as it can be shown in her eyes.

'C'mon Treecko, you've trained your butt off... don't give up now.' The Aura Pokémon thought as she continues to focus her attention on the unmoving Gecko Pokémon.

The referee looks from both sides, glancing over at Roark's side with his Rampardos grinning menacingly before roaring out in triumph. The ref soon turns his head to look towards David's side, seeing the Gecko Pokémon still on the ground.

Wasn't sure if the unmoving Pokémon was completely unconscious, so with hesitation the referee lifts his arm up, "Treecko is unable to battle..." He said as Roark lifts his head up in victory and Rampardos continue to grin.

"Was a good try pipsqueak, but you're just not ready to verse someone like me." The Head Butt Pokémon said while letting out a small chuckle.

As everyone puts their heads down, the ref continues, "... as the winner goes to Ro-"

"Wait!" The trainer shouted, interrupting the ref. "Look." He said while pointing at the Gecko Pokémon, making everyone else turn their attention back to the little Pokémon. He had his arm stretched out towards the Head Butt Pokémon. What came suddenly from Treecko was that a red beam was fired from his palm heading straight for Rampardos.

"Rampardos get out of the way from that!" The rock gym leader ordered quickly, but not quick enough as the Head Butt Pokémon was hit by the red beam and soon his body was glowing red; slowly, Rampardos slouches as he groans, looking as if he has low fatigue.

'Is... is he using what I think he's using?' The trainer thought while watching in awe, seeing the Gecko Pokémon struggling to get up with his arm still stretched out with the red beam hitting the Head Butt Pokémon.

"Treecko is using Absorb." Marcus said while watching the scene displayed as well.

It wasn't long before the Gecko Pokémon was fully standing up, soon letting his arm fall limp, stopping the red beam absorbing Rampardos' energy. He pants from exhaustion and the physical injuries still left on his body, but regained some of his energy back.

It was then that both Marcus and Chad cheered for the Gecko Pokémon, along with the trainer. Even the Aura Pokémon had a small smile placed on her muzzle from seeing Treecko getting back up.

"Looks like Treecko is still able to battle, let's continue!" The referee announced while David and his friends kept cheering Treecko on.

"Wow, not many grass types can withstand Rampardos' Flamethrower, but it doesn't concern me. Considering Treecko's condition, he won't last very long." Roark said in a rather mocking tone, having his hands on his hips confidently, grinning over at the trainer.

"Says you me and Treecko can still win this, Roark!" David responded, having his fist clench a bit from the rock gym leader's mockery and cockiness. 'I swear if he says another cocky comment, I'll lose it.' He thought to himself while glancing over at the Gecko Pokémon, making a mental note to act more quickly and carefully this time.

"We'll see about that. Rampardos use Zen Headbutt!" The rock gym leader shouted before the Head Butt Pokémon lets out a fierce roar before charging towards the Gecko Pokémon, head first; having his skull and eyes begin to glow blue and becomes surrounded in a light blue reflective shield again.

It was then that the trainer thought of an idea, "Treecko jump onto Rampardos' head" The trainer said, making the Gecko Pokémon hesitate a bit, not sure what his trainer is up to, but nevertheless followed David's command, trusting him that there's something up his sleeve.

"You should just give up while you still have some of your dignity left!" The Head Butt Pokémon roared out as he charges closer and closer towards the Gecko Pokémon, but right at the last second, the little Pokémon jumps up, does a front flip in the air before landing on Rampardos' head.

'Now what is that trainer up to?' Roark thought while watching the scene before him carefully, not sure what's going to come next.

"David what do I do now?!" Treecko yelled out, struggling to stand on Rampardos' head, having to hold onto the head of the Head Butt Pokémon with both his paws.

It was then that the trainer stuck his two index fingers in his mouth, making sure that the Gecko Pokémon was watching, and then pulls them out. After that, he has his two fingers coaxed with his saliva, soon having the tips across from each other as he then wiggles them.

From this gesture, the Gecko Pokémon was a bit confused at first, tilting his head. But giving it some thought, his face lit up and giggles out a bit. He quickly mimics the trainer's gesture, slipping his two fingers into his mouth before pulling them out, coaxed with his saliva.

"Wet willy!" The Gecko Pokémon shouted before he then stuck his two fingers at each of Rampardos' ear holes, which result in having the Head Butt Pokémon letting out another irritating roar; having him stop on his tracks and begins shaking his head violently.

"Just hang in there a bit longer Treecko!" David shouted as the Head Butt Pokémon continues shaking his head aggressively as the Gecko Pokémon is barely hanging on. 'Just a bit longer Treecko.' The trainer thought to himself as he watch the Head Butt Pokémon blindly swaying his head very brutally, not looking on where his head in gonna go into (no pun intended X3).

"Rampardos watch yourself!" Roark warned his Pokémon as he could see that the Head Butt Pokémon is shaking his head too close to a nearby boulder, but again things don't go so perfectly all the time and that's what happened when Rampardos was shaking his head too far and accidently ram his head into the boulder, having the Gecko Pokémon jump up right at the last second before Rampardos' head is buried into the large hunk of rock.

'He sure likes put his head into rocks.' Treecko thought jokingly while being up in the air, but his thoughts were interrupted when he heard his trainer.

"Use Pound on his head Treecko!" David shouted, which the Gecko Pokémon did so without hesitation; once descending, he goes into a ball as he flips forward, going faster and faster down towards the Head Butt Pokémon.

During that time the Head Butt Pokémon pulls his head out of the rock and shook some of the rubble off of him while trying to get back to his senses at the same time.

"Rampardos, look out!" The rock gym leader cried from seeing the Gecko Pokémon descending down directly at his Pokémon's head.

..........

(Treecko's POV)

This is it, if I could get a good hit, then I might be able to win this! All the adrenaline flowing through my body from this intense battle is something I never experienced before until now. Having a battle this powerful is so scary, yet, really cool at the same time.

From the very start I would never expect myself to like battling, but I know that it's more than that... way more. Because I said to myself that I want to prove that I'm not just a timid Treecko anymore, but a more... confident and not-get-your-butt-whooped-so-easily type of Treecko.

I don't care how many times I'll say this, but I just can't thank David and his Pokémon friends enough for being there for me and being so accepting of me to be part of their family. I was so touched back then at the hospital when David saved me. And now I'm just glad and thankful that I manage to be with such a caring trainer and Pokémon; helping me recover through my past, helping me recover physically and mentally, and helping me battle, and more importantly... helping me become a better Pokémon.

"This is for calling me a pipsqueak!" I shouted before having my tail drop down towards Rampardos' big head.

"What the?" Rampardos said with confusion as he then looks up, seeing me coming down. He knows it's too late to escape now from my attack as I hit him dead on his thick skull. The impact of the attack was too much for him, I can feel it as he had no choice from him to fall to the ground head first, which made dust and sand fly everywhere around us, making me not see my surroundings

'What in Arceus? W-What's happening?!' I thought as I suddenly felt something within me, it feels like there's this energy coming out of nowhere flowing through my body. I don't know what's going on, but hopefully this is not a bad thing. It wasn't long before I feel like I'm growing.

..........

(Normal POV)

Dust, sand, and rubble were flying all over the battle area from where Treecko landed a direct hit on Rampardos' head.

Everyone was waiting in suspense again, waiting for the clouds of dust die down. But what was unexpected was a shining white light piercing through the clouds of dust, blinding everyone and had to cover their eyes.

"Whoa, what's going on?!" Marcus said during the situation, trying to see what's being displayed, but can't due to the light that's almost too blinding to see what's in front of him.

"Is... is Treecko... evolving?" The trainer asked himself as his arms were shielding him from the blinding light, trying to see through his arms.

"My Arceus, this is a first!" Roark said while feeling some concern for his Rampardos, not knowing what's happening to him as the extraordinary light continues shining the whole battle field.

After a moment or two, the white light slowly dies down, and the clouds of dust lessens somewhat. Having everyone waiting in suspense again while feeling anxious on what's going to happen next.

It was then that a sudden roar was heard within the clouds as the Head Butt Pokémon shot his head out of the clouds, making a green blur lunch up into the air from his head. Thus, making everyone look up; it was a green body rolled up in a ball, but after a moment, the body uncurls itself and what reveal itself was a Grovyle!

"Oh my Arceus, Treecko evolved!" Marcus shouted in surprise, getting even more excited and starts jumping up and down. "Go Tree- I mean, Grovyle. Go Grovyle go!" He cheered while the Flame Pokémon beside his trainer looked a little embarrassed from seeing his trainer look rather ridiculous from his cheering, but nevertheless was rooting for the Gecko Pokémon too.

"Wow... that is something..." Roark said in awe, but quickly shook his head as he knew that this battle isn't over yet. "Hurry Rampardos use-"

'Oh no you don't.' Grovyle thought before leaning his head back, taking a deep breath in the process before he opens his mouth and screeches out loudly towards the Head Butt Pokémon, distorting the air at the same time. So before Roark and Rampardos could do anything, the screech reached the Head Butt Pokémon as it made him flinch and shut his eyes tight from irritation from hearing such a screech.

"That's Screech..." The trainer said to himself as he just watches in amazement, hardly believing that Treecko evolved into a Grovyle. But he's not complaining in the least. He knew that deep inside that the little Gecko Pokémon would evolve very soon, considering the hints of Treecko getting stronger and stronger after all those battles, plus all those faint white glows coming off of him as well was a big stand out.

Then the Gecko Pokémon starts to descend down towards the Head Butt Pokémon, soon the three leaves on both Grovyle's wrists glow green and combine into one long sharp blade on each wrist.

"... and that's Leaf Blade." David said while seeing that the Gecko Pokémon then made his glowing blades into an 'X' shape in front of himself, curling and tensing up his body slightly to prepare for impact.

"Rampardos, Zen Headbutt and quick!" The rock gym leader ordered, making the Head Butt Pokémon have his skull and eyes to glow blue and becomes surrounded in a light blue reflective shield again. Just when that was happening, Grovyle landed his hit onto Rampardos' head; both Pokémon pushing their attack at one another to see who would give in.

"It's impressive that you evolved, but you're still no match for me!" The Head Butt Pokémon said while continuing to push his attack at his opponent.

"We'll let the ref decide that!" Grovyle replied, his voice sounding a bit deeper, before he suddenly spit onto Rampardos' eye, making him flinch as it would give the Gecko Pokémon enough time for him to draw one of his arm back and slash down onto the scull of Rampardos.

"Arrrrgh!" The Head Butt Pokémon yelped before thrashing his head, having the Gecko Pokémon jump back, doing a back flip in the process before landing on the side of a nearby boulder. From there, thrusting his legs to accelerate towards the Rampardos; using his Leaf Blade to land another slash. But this time across the face as the Head Butt Pokémon roars in pain, having a noticeable cut across his face. "Grrr... you're gonna pay for that!" He yelled while his face turns red from such anger and annoyance. Without control of his own body, his rage took over and releases a red-orange stream of fire from his mouth towards the Gecko Pokémon.

It was then that the trainer acts quickly, "Grovyle, use quick attack to dodge!" He shouted before seeing the Gecko Pokémon jump to the side, barely evading the attack as he kept running around to avoid Rampardos' Flamethrower. Thus making the Head Butt Pokémon follow the speedy Grovyle with his Flamethrower, hitting boulders the Gecko Pokémon hide behind before running to the next and the next.

"Rampardos, what are you doing?! I didn't tell you to use Flamethrower!" Roark yelled towards the Head Butt Pokémon, clenching his fists from seeing his Pokémon out of control as he knows that doing what his Pokémon is doing now is just wasting energy.

"Haha, is that all you got? How slow!" Grovyle taunted while running all over the battlefield, making the Head Butt Pokémon even angrier and intensify his Flamethrower attack, not realizing the time and energy wasted as the attack continues to pursuit the Gecko Pokémon. "C'mon, I'm not even breaking a sweat here!" He taunted again as he continues running with great speed, soon running around and behind the Head Butt Pokémon, which made the Rampardos stop his attack as he was a bit out of breath.

"Rampardos watch your back!" The rock gym leader warned to his Pokémon.

"Use Leaf Blade on Rampardos' legs!" The trainer called out, feeling his heart racing as he can feel the battle almost coming to an end. He can't be too confident though since the tables can still be turned around, he knows that he still needs to be careful.

"Wha-" The Head Butt Pokémon said before been cut off when he felt a sudden painful force right on his left leg before letting out a roar of agony. It was Grovyle that ran behind the Head Butt Pokémon and slash the large Pokémon's left leg with his Leaf Blade and soon slides to a halt in front of the Rampardos. It wasn't long before the pain and force as too much and fell on his side, exposing his vulnerable stomach area.

"Get up Rampardos! You can still do this!" Roark yelled, wanting to reassure his Pokémon and himself, but deep down he knows the battle's coming to an end and one will become victorious.

"Alright Grovyle finish him off!" David shouted, his heart racing more than ever.

"With pleasure." The Gecko Pokemon said before he ran towards the downed Rampardos, gaining enough speed to jump up high in the air, his shadow towering over the Heat Butt Pokemon as he leans his head back, preparing to do another attack.

"What's Grovyle doing? Screech won't do much." Marcus said curiously, thinking the Gecko Pokemon would be using the same attack, but Chad thought otherwise since he could see something else Grovyle was doing.

It wasn't long before Grovyle quickly leans over and opens his mouth, shooting many glowing yellow seeds from his mouth at Rampardos at high velocity. While that's being played out, the Head Butt Pokemon manages to get up with a groan as he tries sense on what's going on now.

"Rampardos!" Roark yelled, wanting his Pokemon to get out of the way. But before the Head Butt Pokemon could do anything, Grovyle's attack hits the Head Butt Pokemon like a brick wall as he roars out again before the glowing yellow seeds goes all around the large Pokemon; making dirt, dust, and small rocks fly all around, completely covering Rampardos as anyone would not be able to see him.

It wasn't long that a loud thud could be heard in Rampardos' area as Grovyle lands on his feet, panting from the amount of energy he's used to do that attack, let alone that he's been running around the large tempered Pokemon; even though he said that he wasn't breaking a sweat, that doesn't mean his energy level was unlimited.

During the time this was happening, the back doors of the gym opens as a Nurse Joy was shown with two other Pokemon following close behind, Latias and Latios, looking much better than before they got patched up. The trainer was aware of this, but he needed to concentrate of the battle before him as he watches closely at the clouds surrounding the Head Butt Pokemon.

It was then that the nurse turns around and glances at each Eon Pokemon, "Alright you two here we are, hope you two are feeling much better." Nurse Joy said as both Latias and Latios soon nods, making the nurse gives a warm smile. "Well that's good. I think the battle is still going so you two can watch here, it's has a good view." She said before both Eon Pokemon let's out light cooing sounds and soon after floats closer towards the battlefield, watching from the corner. Nurse Joy can't help but giggle a bit from both Pokémon's eagerness on watching the battle. She soon turns back towards the back of the gym and disappears through the back doors.

"She was nice." Latias said while smiling, watching the battle scene, looking as if the battle was just about over.

"Of course she is sister; all Nurse Joy's are nice." The blue Eon Pokemon replied as he watches the battle as well.

"Wait so you're telling me that this Nurse Joy wasn't the same one we saw back from all the times we needed to be healed?" The red Eon Pokemon asked before her Eon brother face-paws.

"Just watch the battle sis." Latios said in annoyance before glancing back at the battle scene, but once glancing at certain Pokemon, he squint his eyes to get a better look, but doesn't really recognize the green-lizard or dinosaur-like Pokemon. With limited site that he has from the distance he's in, he could see that this Pokemon has three long leaves on its wrists and a large leaf on top of its head. The underside of this Pokemon was red, with a belt-like green stripe on its belly, and two leaf-like tails behind the Pokemon. And last but not least the green Pokemon has two claws and its feet are bird-like. "Hey sister do you know who or what that Pokemon is?" The blue Eon Pokemon asked while then glancing over at his Eon sister.

"Well... since Lucario's up there watching the battle." Latias declared while pointing at the Aura Pokemon watching in her seat, looking rather interested in the battle. "And David can't use us since we were getting patched up from the Nurse, so that could mean..." She trailed off as her brother finishes her words.

"Treecko, but... that Pokemon doesn't look like Treecko, but familiar in a way... so the only answer is that..."

They both thought for a moment before having their eyes wide open in realization, "Treecko evolved!" Both Latias and Latios concluded, looking back at the battlefield and watch.

"I admit that Treecko's new form looks rather impressive." Latias admits while looking at the Gecko Pokemon with slight admiration, having her Eon brother nods in agreement as they both wait in anticipation just like everyone else for what's about to come.

..........

The clouds of dust slowly begins to subside, the air around the Head Butt Pokemon slowly begins to clear up.

'This is it... did we finally win?' The trainer thought as he heart continues racing, feeling beads of sweat running down the side of his face from shouting his voice out so much as he can't help but feel like he's gonna lose his voice after all this is over.

'Me and everyone else worked too hard to prepare for this gym battle. Everyone's counting on me on this last round and I don't want to disappoint them.' Grovyle thought while he pants a bit more from feeling quite exhausted from this battle. 'I don't want to let them down.... but most importantly... I don't want to let myself down... Can I conclude that I can finally prove myself that I stand up for myself?' He asked himself in his mind as he and everyone else watches the clouds dying down even more, revealing the body of the Head Butt Pokemon, and.... once the air was clear... Rampardos was unmoving as swirls could be seen on his eyes.

"Wait... does this mean...?" The trainer says, feeling quite surprised before-

"Rampardos is unable to battle! The winners of the Oreburgh Gym battle are David Cheng and Grovyle!" The referee announced while pointing his stiff arm in the winner's side, everyone cheering and clapping for the trainer and Gecko Pokemon.

"Woo! Oh Arceus that was like the coolest battle I've ever seen! Well... not compared to my battles, but still, so cool!" Marcus cheered excitedly while fist pumping the air for both David and Grovyle.

'Oh my... we did it... we actually did it!' Grovyle thought with excitement while looking quite shocked, almost not believing that he and David won the gym battle, their first gym battle. So much weight felt like it was lifted of his shoulders; the feeling of accomplishing what he wanted for so long was so satisfying and pretty relaxing in a way. It was then that a sudden pang was shot through his body, feeling so fatigue as he slowly begins to struggle standing up, probably using up more energy than he thought.

"Oh my god we won, we won!" David cheered while jumping up and down from winning their first gym battle, but his little celebration was cut short from taking a glance at the Gecko Pokemon, only seeing him wobbling and in the verge of falling. "Grovyle!" He cried in concern as he was about to jump off the large stone he was standing for the battle, but didn't get the chance to as he sees the Gecko Pokemon falling back.

"Don't worry I gotcha!" Someone said before a white and red blur was seen coming towards the falling Grovyle and the blur soon stops to a standstill right beside the Gecko Pokemon, catching him as he's now in Latias' arms.

It was then that the Gecko Pokémon's slowly opens his eyes, squinting a bit from the light blinding him a bit as he lets out a soft groan, "Oh my aching everything." He said to himself as he tries to move around, but can't due to of the feeling someone holding him in their arms. Without anything else to do, he opens eyes a bit more to see who's saved him from falling to the ground.

"Oh thank Arceus, you're okay!" Said a familiar voice as the Gecko Pokémon's vision adjusted quickly and looks up, only to see Latias' face... but for some reason he sees her differently as the vivid lights from the roof of the gym felt like it was just shinning on her, almost looking angel-like.

The only thought Grovyle was getting from all this was, _'Hallelujah... hallelujah... hallelujah... hallelujah- hallelujah!' _

"Congratz on your win, and you evolved too Treecko, I'm so pound of you!" The red Eon Pokemon said sincerely while giving a soft smile down at the Gecko Pokemon.

"Um-I-uh... umm..." Grovyle stuttered while his face begins to heat up, his chest slowly beginning to pound a bit harder and faster while at the same time having a noticeable blush across his face, speechless from looking up at Latias.

Grovyle's blush didn't go unnoticed for the red Eon Pokemon as she tilts her head and her eyes softens, about to open her mouth and say something, but-

"Grovyle!" A sudden voice was heard, sounding concern as it was none other than David; running down towards the two Pokemon before the trainer stops beside them and kneels down. "Grovyle you okay? Nothing's hurt or anything right?" He said while checking over the Gecko Pokémon's body for any sign for injuries.

"I-I'm okay David... really." The blushing Grovyle manages to say while his trainer looks at his Pokemon friend for a moment, soon sighs in relief.

"Well that's good to hear. I'm so proud that you won buddy." The trainer said while giving a smile and reaches over to pet the Gecko Pokémon's head.

"We won David." Grovyle corrected while leaning into his trainer's hand petting his head affectionately.

"My goodness that was so cool you guys!" Another sudden voice could be heard as David, Treecko, and Latias all glance towards Marcus running over to them with and his Charizard, Chad following close behind both of them congratulating David and Grovyle. "My goodness when Grovyle finished Rampardos with Bullet Seed, it looked like it was in a movie or something and that he-..." Marcus continues while making silly gestures from what he's describing the battle as the Flame Pokemon beside him shook his head in embarrassment from how his trainer looks right now.

While that was happening, the blue Eon Pokemon soon comes up to Latias, "That was some catch sis, nice reflex." He complimented while giving her back a light pat.

"Thank you brother, but I only acted on instinct hehe." The red Eon Pokemon giggled a bit before giving her brother a gentle nudge. "Just like when I stopped you just when you about to finish David off back at Alto Mare."

"Ugh, please don't remind me." The blue Eon Pokemon groaned before shaking his head in remorse, but was soon hugged by his sister, whom he happily hugs back, "Thanks sis."

"No problemo, I know you were just trying to protect me and the garden. It wasn't your fault." Latias said, smiling while she kept hugging her brother.

Latios didn't seem quite convinced, but nonetheless gives a light nod while giving his sister a light nuzzle on her cheek as in a thank you for her support.

As all that's happening so far, the trainer was standing up and smiling from seeing everyone congratulating Treecko, who is now Grovyle, while feeling quite proud of him for achieving so much from this point. He was gone from a timid little Treecko to such a more confident Pokemon now; the trainer couldn't feel more happier for his Grovyle companion.

"I must say that you did very well on your battle David." The Aura Pokemon said from behind the trainer, making him jump a bit from feeling a bit surprised.

"Oh, well thanks Lucario. But it was all a team effort and it wasn't all m-"

The train we soon interrupted when he felt a hand, or rather than a paw, grabs his shoulder and turns him around, only to feel his lips pressed against another. The Aura Pokemon has her lips sealed against her trainer's as she lets out a soft murr and holds the kiss as long as she can before slowly releasing the kiss, grinning at her blushing mate and then hugging him close.

..........

"Ah... you did well Rampardos, you deserve a rest." The rock gym leader said, standing in front of the knocked out Head Butt Pokemon before he returns his Pokemon into his Pokeball. So once putting the Pokeball away on his belt, the gym leader soon glances at David and his companions celebrating as he can't help but letting out a small smile on his face.

The rock gym leader walk his way towards the celebrating team, having his arms crossed, "Well I must admit that your Pokemon is a force to be reckon with, especially your Treecko who's now evolved into a Grovyle, that really turned the tables around." He complimented while that small smile was still planted on his face. Looking a bit disappointed that he lost, but he knew that he was doing his best efforts out there. That's what counts to him.

Once having to a certain Aura Pokemon out of her arms, the trainer smiles and walks over to the gym leader, "Well it wasn't easy, but we worked hard for this opportunity Roark." He said while the other nods.

"You certainly did and you won fair and square... so there's nothing else for me to do other than give you a little something for your victory." Roark said while reaching at his back pocket to take out a small case and opens it in front of David, revealing the Oreburgh badge.

The trainer was in slight awe from looking at the badge. He looks up at the rock gym leader, almost asking if it was for him and was permissioned to take it, which the gym leader chuckles and nods, "Go ahead, you deserve the Oreburgh badge my friend."

David nods eagerly before reaching to take the badge out, "Alright our first gym battle and we won!" He cheered while everyone else cheers with him. Never have he felt such a rush like this before, having the feeling of winning your first gym battle was something you could never forget; it was the start of your road to victory. Even though David wasn't much into Pokemon battles, that doesn't mean it wasn't fun for him. Not only that he had fun battling, he knew that his Pokemon companions were having a blast too.

'My god... my first gym battle against Roark.' The trainer thought while looking at the Oreburgh badge in his palm. 'But.... I couldn't have done it without everyone's team efforts. They're the ones who should get most of the honours here.' He thought again while looking at his Pokemon companions, soon focusing on a certain Gecko Pokemon. 'Especially Grovyle, he's come so far. I know he'll be a better Pokemon from here on out, he's never gonna be abused again... because he has us with him.' He can't help but smile a bit bigger as he soon walks over to the Gecko Pokemon, kneeling in front of him. "Hey Grovyle." He said, getting his companion's attention.

"Yes? What is it David?" Grovyle asked while tilting his head as his trainer kept smiling at him.

"Hold on..." The trainer trails off before he quickly took out a piece of loose black string from his black sweater; the length of it was fairly decent as the Gecko Pokemon had no idea what his human companion is doing. Once taking out that string, he quickly hooks the Oreburgh badge into the string as he held it up as it slides at the middle of the string, leaning over Grovyle and ties the sting behind the Pokemon's neck. "There we go, that's for you." David said while leaning back to take a look, giving a soft smile before placing a hand on his companion's shoulder.

"Wha? This... for me?" Grovyle said with slight shock as he looks down and holds it up to his face with admiration.

The trainer chuckles a bit and nods, "Heh, yes Grovyle it's for you. You deserve it, and it'll be a reminder how far you've come." He said while giving the Grovyle's shoulder a gentle squeeze. Soon having the Gecko Pokemon looking up at his human companion before jumping into his arms and hugs his neck tightly.

"This means so much me... thank you, master." The Gecko Pokemon said while nuzzling his trainer's cheek gratefully; saying master with a sign of respect, and not the way you say it like a slave to someone.

David was a bit surprised from the hug, but embraces Grovyle and holds him just as tight, "You're welcome Grovyle... I'm so amazed that you've gotten so strong."

"And it's all thanks to you David and everyone else. I couldn't have been this good without you guys." Grovyle replied while murring in his trainer's arms.

After a moment longer they both release their embrace and everyone was up and facing the gym leader, "Well Roark, it was awesome battling you, but I think it's time for us to head out." David said while everyone agrees.

The rock gym leader nods and brought his hand out in front of the trainer, "It was great battling you David, maybe one day we could meet again... and that I would like a rematch." He said while giving a slight grin while the trainer chuckles and shook his hand.

"Sure thing, just know that I'll be even stronger whenever we meet again in the future." The trainer said while grinning back.

"I'm sure you will be, but hey, the stronger they are the more satisfaction of it'll be when I win." The gym leader said with much confidence as they both soon let go of each other's hands.

"Well we're gonna head out so see you sometime in the future Roark." David said while he and everyone else turns around and begins heading to the exit of the gym.

"Looking forward to it David!" The rock gym leader said while waving to everyone, which they wave back.

It was then that Grovyle stop for a moment to look down at the badge necklace David gave him, but... he wasn't thinking about the badge or the victory he won and David won right now.

'What was that feeling when I was looking up at Latias?' The Gecko Pokemon thought while looking up and glance at the red Eon Pokemon, making him blush a bit from just glancing at her. He never had this feeling before, but whatever it was he certainly liked that feeling. But first he needs to know what these feelings are before he could do anything about it. Deep inside he's pretty sure on what it was, but it could be something else... or that's what his thinks. 'Hmm... maybe I can ask David later about this.' He thought before running up to catch up with everyone else as they begin heading out of the Oreburgh gym.
