Just a short drabble about Vinnie and Throttle

Winter Morning

The claws of a tan-furred hand idly traced the plains of white fur in front of him, earning a soft sigh from its owner. Throttle smiled at that, nuzzling the back of Vinnie's neck. In moments like this he wished the world would just stop turning if only for a little while. Cuddled up together in their bed they had pulled the covers over them when the first rays of sun had reached the windows of the scoreboard.

Winter had finally arrived in Chi-Town and although they had fur and thus weren't as prone to the cold as humans, Vinnie didn't like the cold and chilly weather, especially in the morning. So he did the next best thing: He stayed in bed even longer than he usually did. And Throttle didn't seem to mind staying with him. Vinnie giggled quietly and stretched leisurely before he pressed himself a little more against the warm chest behind him, enjoying the feeling of that clawed hand pushing him even more against the tan-furred mouse.

"What's so funny, Vincent?" Throttle asked sleepily and felt Vinnie turn his head towards him. "Did you really think Modo would believe you, when you told him, that ya're just stayin' with me because you didn't want me to get ill again?" the white mouse asked in return. Throttle rolled his eyes in the darkness of their self-made den. "Look, I'm sorry Vinster. But I'm not the brightest light in the chandelier at nine in the morning. Especially not after watching stupid movies about even more stupid zombies 'til 4 in the morning!" Throttle replied, grinning at the pout that appeared on Vinnie's snout now. "Those weren't just stupid movies about even more stupid zombies! It was the 'mortifying monster night of the living dead'! Now, if we are ever to be attacked by zombies, we'll know just what to do to survive!" Vinnie defended himself. Of course it has been his idea and... well let's just say he had developed some ways to persuade Throttle to do almost everything. Like watching zombie movies all night. The tan mouse smiled and then leant forward. He softly nuzzled Vinnie's cheeks before he licked at the corner of his mouth, making the pout disappear in the progress. "Of course, but you don't have to worry anyway... After all zombies feed on brain, so you wouldn't be a rich meal to them." Throttle joked good-naturedly, making the pout reappear. He loved picking on the youngest member of his pack sometimes.

Vinnie finally turned fully around so he was now facing Throttle under the blankets that were still covering them. Vinnie raised one of his hands to the tan-furred chest in front of him, scratching lightly over one pec. "You know... we're still fresh as mates... So you might don't want to stop being prince charming just yet if you want to get into my pants before next year's Christmas!" Vinnie teased and closed his eyes feeling Throttle pushing his chest against his claws with a satisfied sigh, clearly liking the sensation. "Now that I think about it... you might be right... so what can I do to regain your favor?" Throttle asked amused cause he knew Vinnie wasn't really serious about what he had said. The answer he got still surprised him.

"Guess you can't bring the time to stand still... So just be quiet and warm." Vinnie whispered while he wriggled even closer to Throttle and brought his arms around the tan-furred waist, snuggling his head under the others chin. Throttle blinked in surprise, but when he heard the contented sigh coming from Vinnie he smiled and put his arms around the other, closed his eyes and slipped back into sleep. At least until Modo came back from his patrol and destroyed their 'nest' by pulling away the blankets.

But that's a different story.
