Power can be a frightening thing, it is so easy to abuse and use it to bend others to your will. In a way though, power can controll you, and distort you so there is nothing left but a shadow of a person, like the priests from Myrh. Abusing the rituals of the goddess, and hurting the people they should be guiding and protecting.
It is so easy to get swept up into the feeling of having power over somone, I have been given it freely, and I loved it. I've felt that rush, and the thoughts that have crossed my mind have scared me. I'm not a violent rat by any means, but it would be so easy to make them do as I wanted, make them beg for mercy, then end their life, but I would never! Power does corrupt, but only if you allow it to controll you. I have the trust of someone who is willing to give up controll to me, and that trust, is enough, to "keep me in line"
