Out side of the small trailer, wind, rain and thunder mixed, creating a storm unlike the small trailer park had ever seen before. The harsh falling rain alone pounded the metal of the trailers. The howling winds gently rocked the already unstable homes causing them to creak. The thunder was just another unwanted disturbance. All of these elements combined wouldn't be cause for alarm or even stir most adults, mostly the ones whom have lived with conditions such as these their entire lives.

To two and half year old Celty it was the first terrifying moment of her life. Sitting in bed, cowering in the corner under her blankets, she whimpered, praying her mother was going to come threw the door any second to comfort her in her arms. But she knew, even at her age, that she wasn't going to, her mother was out and wouldn't be coming back till it was time for her to wake up. The only comfort the little pup had was a plush toy her mother had given her only days before, even the memory was fresh in her head.

"Here baby, look," Karry said, handing her daughter the toy before dropping her crying child off at day care, "see looks like mommy huh?" Celty, taking the toy into her little paws nodded wiping the tears from her eyes, keeping her gaze on the new toy she had received. "See, now mommy can always be with you honey, no matter where you are." She heard a honk coming from her boyfriend Rob's car followed by an impatient smacking of the car door, telling her it was time to go. Karry handed Celty off to the care giver in the day care and gave Celty one last kiss before turning around and heading off the car.

A loud thunder clap shook the young pup from her thoughts as a strong gust of wind blew past, violently shaking the trailer. Already Celty was shaking like a leaf, and wanting to call out for her mother. Another deafening thunder clap roared over the sky above causing the young pup to yelp and scramble out of bed. She opened the door to her room and waddled down the hall as fast as she could, her swollen diaper slowing her down some.

Once at her parents bed room, not bothering to knock as she was taught, she opened the door and walked in a few feet. "Daddy," she called to him, almost in a whisper, "Daddy," she called again, a little louder this time, but still no answer from him. Another thunder clap roared, and Celty made for a quick sprint for the bed and climbed to the top. When she was up she could see her father asleep under the covers, snoring louder than the thunder. She crawled across the top of the bed and to her fathers side where she climbed on top of his chest. Trying to get his attention she gently shook him, but when he didn't even stir she began to whimper again.

She got off of his chest and started to peel back the covers so she could slip in and lay down with him. Little did Celty know, that this is what woke Rob up. His eyes flew open as he quickly sat up and looked around. He looked down to where he felt the tugging and saw his daughter. Seeing it was nothing life threatening he simply fell back onto the bed and stretched as he yawned, "why are you out of bed Celty?" Rob asked in a half asleep, half wasted voice.

"I scared daddy." She told him as she tried cuddling up to him, "I sleep with you?" She flashed him her little puppy eyes trying to convince him to let her sleep with him, but he wasn't going to have any of it from her tonight.

"No, Celty, I'm getting tired of this, you wanting to sleep with us routine. Starting tonight, no more sleeping with mommy and daddy." He threw the covers off his body and picked Celty up as he got off the bed. He walked back to her room, Celty resting in his arms, still shaking from fear of the storm. When he opened the door he started pulling Celty away from him, but she wasn't budging, "Celty, let go of me." He told her in a very stern voice. She shook her head and held on tighter to him. Now he was starting to get really annoyed with the situation and gave Celty a little swat on her padded bottom causing her to yelp and release her grip. Rob took this moment to pull her away from him and place her in bed. Before he covered her up he saw the diaper she was wearing was very swollen and close to leaking. He grabbed her a new diaper, and with out placing powder or anything else to prevent a rash, switched out the soiled one for a dry one.

"Alright Celty, I spent time with you, I changed you, I even held you. All the stuff your mother wants me to do all the time, and now that I have done those things I just want to get back to bed and sleep so I can go to work and bring money home for you and that whore you call a mom. If I see you out of bed again I swear you're going to get a worst spanking than what I just gave you, do you understand me young lady?" The tone in his voice was unlike anything she had ever heard before from him. She sat silent in her bed as she clutched plush toy that her mother had given her. "I asked you a question young lady, do you understand me?" He asked half shouting at her. She was startled once again and jumped at his question, which was quickly followed by a nod to answer it. "Good." He said as he walked out of the room, slamming the door behind him.

Celty sat on her bed in only her night shirt and the fresh diaper her father had placed on her. Tears were streaming down her cheek once again as she looked to the door hoping that the next time it opened her mother would come in to comfort her. After sitting up for about fifteen minutes, the only thing she heard was the storm dying down, and the sound of her fathers loud snoring. Eventually Celty jus got tired and began to yawn and fall asleep. The toddler was still crying, wanting her mother, but simply curled up with her stuffy, closed her eyes, and fell asleep.

Young Celty, now four, awoke from her slumber with a bit of a startle; out side her bed room window she could here thunder again. She was young, but could clearly remember that night, the way her father was so angry, no one knew it at the time but it did traumatize her a little. The young pup looked around the room and almost had forgotten where she was until she saw all toys in the room, including her favorite toy. It was the room the Magari's, her new parents, had given her.

It was now three days after she had woken up in her new home and new life. So many things were new to her, the first was being able to stay home all day with her new mother, she loved being able to stay home and play, though she did miss her friend back home. The second was that when her father came home, the first thing he did was find them both and greet them with a hug and a kiss. Unlike her biological father, whom when he entered the house just asked where his dinner was, and for a beer. She still missed her mother more than anything though.

Celty sat alone in her new massive room with nothing to comfort her but her plushy. Each roaring thunder blast sent a chill running down her spine, remembering each time she wished her mother would come in and hold her to tell her everything was going to be OK. The young traumatized pup sat shivering in her bed just waiting for the storm to end.

As she sat, the storm outside seemed to get worse and worse as the night went on. And still she sat shivering in her bed, unable to fall asleep. She sat calmly in bed, no whimpering, no screaming, or crying came from her, only her fear showed from her shivering. But when a large roar of thunder passed over the night sky, sounding like it was just outside her window, it caused Celty to scream out in fear and to start crying. Though this didn't last long for her. Only seconds after she started to cry the thunder, Arada came into her room. Turning on the light he saw Celty sitting, crying, on her bed as she grasped her plushy. walking over to her bed he could see the fright in the young pups eyes.

"It's okay honey, it's just thunder it's not going to hurt you." He told her as he knelt down by her bed, not knowing of her first experience with such weather. He laid her back in bed and gave her little belly a gentle rub, "it's gonna be okay sweetie. Just close your eyes and fall back to sleep." He said moving her blankets up to tuck her in. Before he could even touch her covers she stood in her bed, wraping her arms around his neck not wanting to let go of him. Her grip alone told him she needed more than just her father staying in the room while she fell asleep

"Daddy, don't leave......please." Her voice still had a hint of fear in it from being left alone.

Seeing his daughter like this broke his heart, he knew leaving her when she needed him the most would have made him a bad father. Placing a soft kiss to her forehead he pulled her away from his neck, "come on let's get you changed out of that dirty diaper, and you can come lay down with me and mommy, does that sound good?"

Celty gave a sniffle as she wiped her eyes, "you won't get mad?" She asked as her father laid her back and proceeded to change her.

"No, why would I get mad? Your our little girl." He gave a little tickle to her belly, when he was finished changing her, getting a soft giggle out of her. Making her giggle, and bringing back even a small smile to Celty, put the biggest one on Arada. "Come on honey, let's go back to bed, I know you gotta be tired by now."

When Arada entered his bedroom, with Celty in his arms, Rachel was already sitting up in bed. Seeing Celty come in her fathers arms she scooted over to make room so all three could sleep peacefully. "What's wrong honey, were you scared of the storm?" Celty nods to her mothers question as she is placed in the middle of the bed. "Don't worry honey, mommy and daddy are here to protect you." She brushed Celty's hair back with her paw as Arada gets back onto his side of the bed.

It only took minutes but all three fell into a deep sleep that night. To Celty the storm was over, even though it was from it, no matter how many thunder blasts roared over head she knew she had her mother and father to comfort her in bed.

The next morning when Rachel awoke to the blaring alarm clock, she quickly reached over switch it off so as not to wake up Celty. After scratching at her head, stretching and yawning, she started to feel around under the blankets to find Celty. It wasn't a big gap between Rachel and Arada, but she wasn't in the spot she had been when they fell asleep. Pulling back the large comforter she saw something that made her heart melt right out her chest. Arada was asleep on his side, and nestled up all nice and snug next to him was Celty. She was on her side and snuggled close with his arm over her in a protective way. The two had slept peacefully through the night like. Rachel carefully, but quickly got up from her side of the bed grabbing her camera and turning it on. It was still a little dark in the room, so she knew she would have to use the flash, she hoped it wasn't going to wake them up. When she got the camera focused and ready she quickly snapped the picture, a large flash of white light illuminated the room for a brief second, thankfully not waking either of them. A very bright smile came across her face as a single tear escaped her eye, "It's a good thing it's your day off Arada, I would hate to ruin this moment." She said softly she set her camera down and joined them back in bed.
