Chapter 2 of "Leonardo".

Kinda short compared to Chapter 1.... Might just keep it at around this length, if not alil more.

It has only been some number of minutes since I left the community, still not daring to look back. I sped up at times, I slowed down at times; all was done to get away to the now-hell-hole. I eventually stopped, looking up at how down the sun came. It barely moved down, so I guessed right before that it had been a number of minutes, but the exact time I'll never know, as it had no importance to me at the time.

My stomach started to grumble a bit, noted that I hadn't eaten in a while since the morning. I didn't know much of the area around me, but I still had to find food, whatever the hell it was. I looked around, but only found bushes covered in nothing but leaves, and trees with the same cover. I walked around to see if anything was on the bushes.

I walked up to one, finding small, round-shaped, yellow fruits in one of the bushes. I almost reached to one, until it dropped to the ground. It landed on a leaf; and the second it did, it popped on the leave, decaying the leaf into black, charred-out things. What the hell kind of a fruit is that? I wondered. I walked out, looking for something else.

I looked up into to the trees, seeing if I could find anything there. I couldn't really see anything if the trees were four times as tall as I was. Might as well try... I thought. I walked towards a tree, and tried climbed up to a tree. I struggled a little bit, but managed to get to the main part of the tree. I looked around, seeing a yellow bulb-shaped fruit. It looks innocent enough... I thought. I took one and jumped down.

I landed safely, ignoring the landing, waiting to eat the fruit. I took a bite out of it, seeing that it was very sweet inside, the peel being sour. After swallowing the first bite, I looked inside to look at the fruit; it was pure purple, a strange fruit to have. The hell? I thought. I stared at the fruit, wondering if I should continue eating it. I didn't want to search any further; I quickly finished the fruit, only to quickly grab another.

After filling myself up with maybe eight or nine, I looked around to see what I could do next. I was still in the Crescent Forest I supposed, seeing there were still trees and green all around me. I sat to the nearest tree beside me. I looked around, seeing the portion of the forest I was in was dead: no animals, hardly any wild creatures can be heard, and, when heard closely enough, honks of the vehicles the tamed were driving, including some yelling of some sort.

It was livable at this part of the forest. Even worse with the possibility of the others patrolling that I was still around. 'Banned from the community...' _ I thought _'...and its annex territories.'

I was in the annex. They didn't want me there. I still didn't know why; nothing was around for me to find out. If they don't want me here... I thought to myself ...Then I might as well leave and forget this whole area... I stood up and ran towards the loud sound of vehicles ahead of me.

Around that time, Jake came in to the community, coming back from his walks. He noticed that it was unnaturally quiet around him. He went with the flow, just thinking that most people were just out. He walked around the area, noticing that everyone was there, doing their daily routine, only in a silent way. He wasn't sure what was going on.

He walked around to see who was around. He found most of his friends, not finding some of them. He asked where most were, all were answering in a low tone. He didn't know why they answered in a low tone, but never bothered to ask. He walked around to find his friends, finding all...but one.

He ran up to one of his friends, Leslie, who was looking down at the ground. "Hey, Leslie!" Jake yelled out. Leslie looked over to Jake, seeing that he was running up to her.

"Oh, hi, Jake," she responded, raising a hand. Jake stopped in front of her, seeing her smile, but losing it after a while.

"Hey," Jake started, "have you seen Leon?"

"Leon?" Leslie had her arm behind her, "You didn't know?"

"Know what?"

"H-he..." she looked down to the ground again.

"He what?" Jake asked, holding on to Leslie. "What happened to him?" Her eyes did not meet his.

"He..." She looked up at Jake. "...he was banned."

"Banned?" Jake's eyes widened out. "What do you mean by 'banned'?!"

"He was banned from the community and its annex!" She was freaking out for Jake yelling at her. Jake let go of Leslie, trying to get everything she said in his head. He was breathing hard, not believing what she said. He tried to cry, but prevented himself not to. He lowered his head after a while, being silent for a while.

After a while, he asked, choking a little bit "...W-why?"

"I-I don't know...only that it was evident to something." She stared at Jake, still looking down.

"Where did he run to?" Jake asked. Leslie pointed at a direction in the community.

"He ran over there, but no one knows where." She confessed. She walked over to Jake, hugging him. He didn't react, his head still down. After about a few seconds, she let go of Jake. He wiped his tears away, trying not to react so much.

After a while, he murmured, "Excuse me." He started to run off to the direction Leslie pointed.

"Wait!" Leslie yelled out, "Where are you going?" Jake stopped, not turning around.

"I'm going to find Leon," he responded. He started off again.

"But why?" Leslie yelled out again. "You don't even know where he ran off to!" Jake stopped and turned around.

"What else am I supposed to do?" he yelled out, his arms apart. He let his arms down after a while, "It'll only be a matter of time until the same happens to me; just like what happened to him," he pointed to the direction Leslie pointed at earlier. "I'm sorry...but I have to do this." Leslie didn't move, silent to Jake. "If anyone asks," Jake slowly turns back, "I'll just be gone for a while." He runs off from the community, leaving Leslie standing.

"Be careful..." She said lowly.
