Meadow and Jonathan decide to help Rachel out, getting into a 2v1 battle against Azure.

After getting used to the slight rocking and movement of the ocean, Jonathan decided that since he finally stopped vomiting, the first thing he should do would be to go wash his hands and beak. After this, he went to the buffet, and picked up five of what appeared to be pieces of chicken. He always hated chickens, and all other flightless birds, so he was okay with eating any kind of poultry, provided it came from a flightless bird.

While this attitude sometimes got him into arguments on morality, hunger, and other things, today he just didn't care. He sat down at an empty table, and began eating.

After the second piece, a rather good-looking woman came up to him. She looked like some sort of lizard, and seemed mildly interested in him. Jonathan knew she was a pokemon, he just wasn't sure which one.

"Is this seat taken?" she asked, mildly interested.

"No, of course not." He shuffled sideways, and stretched his wings.

She sat down beside him, and shook his talons. "Meadow, Nice to meet you."

"Jonathan LightningStorm, Nice to meet you." he replied.

They stared at each other, examining their faces, searching for the tiniest of micro-expressions.

"I'm a Snow Owl." He said, completely monotone, without breaking eye contact.

"I'm a Serperior." She replied, with a similar monotone.

"Interesting."

"Yes..."

They would have gone on all day if Rachel hadn't burst down the door at that moment, and dived behind Jonathan's table.

"Do you know this woman, Jon?"

"Sadly, yes."

"Interesting..."

He looked at her, impressed. "Indeed..."

Rachel rolled her eyes. "Can you two stop your creepy love-fest and help me?"

Jonathan sighed. "If we must."

Meadow smiled smugly. "So, you admit that this was love?"

Jonathan grinned. "I do."

A moderately angry Glaceon ran through the door, wielding an Icicle Spear. "Where is she?!" She shouted.

Jonathan and Meadow smiled at each other.

"So, I'm guessing that your idiot friend did something stupid."

"Most likely."

"Please don't tell me you expect me to help her." She moaned.

"Come on, it'll be fun. This might be your only chance to fight alongside a Snowy Owl."

"True."

They got up from their seats, and Jonathan started crackling with electricity. Meadow noticed this with a raised eyebrow, then decided she'll ask later.

"Hey, Glaceon. I challenge you to a battle!" Meadow announced, smiling. "Two on two, Jonathan and I!"

Azure laughed. "My name is Azure, and I chose my sister, Clarisse!"

Clarisse stumbled into the room, grabbed an ice bucked from a passing waiter, and vomited into the bucket. When she was done, she looked at her sister, and shook her head sadly. In her state, any attempt at a mental attack would most likely backfire.

"See, this is why you never read a Dark-type's mind!" Azure explained, patting her younger sister on the head.

Rachel got up, and shouted angrily. "Hey!"

Glaceon fired a quick barrage of ice shards at her, and Rachel ducked back under the table.

Jonathan started chuckling to himself. "Well, looks like it'll be two on one... unless you want to be on the same team as Rachel."

"Never!" Glaceon glared at him. "I shall see you on the battlefield, in two hours."

Meadow laughed. "Honestly, who has that kind of time? I've got nothing better to do, so lets just head down there now, right?"

Clarisse attempted to say "Right", but she was interrupted by another vomiting attack.

"It's on!" She stormed off, picking up Clarisse on the way. She kept holding her ice-and-vomit bucket, filling it up. Nobody objected to her taking it.

Once she was gone, Jonathan smiled at Meadow. "Well played."

"You weren't too bad, yourself." She said, moving closer to him.

"Why, thank you, m'lady."

"So, when this is all over, want to grab something to drink?"

"Why wait?" He asked, as he called over the waiter. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________

About five minutes later, Jonathan and Meadow were in one of the specialized battling arenas, ready to fight. Meadow had changed her top, but it was the same colour as the last one. It was a forest-green short-sleeved T-shirt that exposed her midsection, she also wore blue jeans, and black platform shoes.

Jonathan was naked, as usual, relying on his feathers to stop anyone from seeing too much. He already removed his decorative glasses, they were in his room.

There were wooden bleachers on the walls, and the one closest to their arena had about fourteen people watching. Rachel was hiding behind these bleachers, watching the match through a gap in the wood. The crowd excitedly cheered when they saw Azure confidently walk into the arena.

"Hey, Meadow! I'm going to kick your Grass!!!" She shouted, hamming it up.

"Oh yeah? Well I'm going to kick your Ice!" She shouted back, trying to out-ham her.

Jonathan stared, completely bewildered. When he sensed the crowd watching him, waiting for his response, he decided to try something he once saw on TV.

He spun round, and flapped his wings hard, sending loose feathers cascading around him. He electrocuted them all, and they fell to the ground crackling with electricity.

He spread his wings, looked at the crowd, and announced, "The doctor... is in!"

The crowd went wild, applauding and cheering. Azure glared at him angrily, while Meadow admired his ability to work a crowd.

A bell dinged somewhere, and the fight began. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________

Azure was the first to start, summoning a ball of ice and throwing it at Meadow.

Jonathan melted the ball mid-flight by zapping it. The resulting water splashed harmlessly onto the floor.

Two long vines came out of meadow's wrists, and she started swinging them around like whips. Azure dodged most of them, but she got lucky, and one vine wrapped around her leg. Meadow smiled, and flung her into a wall.

When Azure got up, she grabbed the vine, froze it, then broke it. She made fourteen shards of ice, and threw them all at Meadow.

Jonathan flew up, and dived at Azure while she was focusing on Meadow. He blindsided her, knocking her a few feet back.

Meadow tried to dodge the shards, but a few of them hit her, making small cuts. Green blood imbued with chlorophyll dripped onto her clothing. She cursed under her breath, realizing that this boat was the worst possible place she could be in a fight. The walls were metal, painted to look like wood, all of the natural light was blocked out by the upper decks, and there was no soil anywhere. If she wanted to heal herself, she'd have to win this fight, then buy some healing items. Which is a real shame, because on this boat, they are way too expensive.

Azure shot a beam of ice at Jonathan, he dodged mid-flight and roundhouse-kicked her.

Meadow grew some razor-sharp leaves, then threw them at Azure while she was down. They hit her in the back, and stabbed into her.

Azure screamed in pain, and shouted her cries of surrender.

Meadow looked at Jonathan. "Should we stop?"

Jonathan smiled back. "Actually, I think we should. We've won, we've saved Rachel, and... you're bleeding pretty badly." He ran up to her, and cradled her face, wiping some of the blood off.

Meadow smiled back. "I'll be fine, thanks. But, nobody's ever cared so much for me before."

"Well, I'm a very caring person. I'm also, as some might call it..." He got a Max Restore out of his wallet.

"Over-prepared." He handed it to her, and her face lit up for the first time. She used it on herself, watching as the cuts healed. Skin regrew, muscles were repaired, and she felt better than she had in a while.

She stretched backwards, and her back would have cracked loudly if she had bones. She inhaled deeply, and kissed Jonathan.

He was surprised at first, but then he joined in, and started making out with her.

Rachel got out from behind the bleachers, and shouted, "Get a room!"

They ignored her, and kept kissing.
