Your Cage
Poem
You mustn't be afraid, my love
For there is no need to fear
Even though you have been lost
For so very long, my love
I will guide you here
You mustn't think yourself undeserving, my love
For your doubt is unnecessary
Even if you've locked yourself away
In a cage of your own making, my love
I possess the key that will set you free
You are just like a bird, my love
That has lost the will to sing
Even if you cannot speak
I will raise my voice, my love
And sing a song so beautiful that you cannot ignore
Even if your words elude you, my love
I will wait an eternity
With bated breath, my love
And bittersweet agony
For you to call out to me
And if you still can't bring yourself to escape your gilded cage, my love
Instead, I will venture in
And seek you out, my love
Shackled by your guilt
I'll lock the door behind us
You'll never be alone again, my love
Because I'll throw away the key
I'll tear away your chains, my love
And wedge myself between you and your pain
Until you can breathe again
I'll shower you with sweetness, my love
And devour your regret
You can spend the rest of forever, my love
In this cage you cannot flee
Forever being embraced, my love
By the warmth that is me...
