Reference, Legend, and Prolog

Character reference sheet:

Cat people:

Cat people stand about four and a half to five feet tall full-grown; they have prehensile tails that are as easy to use as a hand, and in a way their tails resembles of a leopard's in the way it looks, but their tails are long and about a half foot longer then they are tall. They are built sleek and thin for running and acrobatics, and their features even as adults resemble those of human children in varying ways.

They keep most of their young looking features all the way into their later adult years till they have passed their prime before they really start to show any age to their features. Their hands and feet are much like human's, except that they have short stubby claws instead of finger nails or toe nails and their toes are more paw like.

The fur covering their bodies is short, fine and comes in a variety of colors; some are more rare then others. For example, the common colors most of their race have are brown, golden brown, and tan. Uncommon to rare colors for their pelts are white, gray, and black.

Like humans they also have thicker hair on their heads and is commonly colored brown, black, and sometimes blond. The rare colors are white, silver, and white blond.

The common eye colors for this race are yellow, brown, orange, hazel, brownish gold, and the uncommon green. The rare colors are silver, red, blue, and the exclusively bloodline related bright slightly luminescent blue.

Those borne of the bloodline always have, Markings that are black, white top hair, and the bright slightly luminescent blue eyes.

All have lighter colored softer fur outlining their underbelly area covering them from the under side of their chins that out lines down their stomachs to the groin. They have neatly set pointed cat ears protruding from the top of their hair. Their faces have an array of different exotic cat like markings that often give them wild appearances. Around their eyes they also have an assortment of wildcat markings that vary for every individual like fingerprints. They have the cat like feline nose, along with big slanted cat eyes that are very perceptive of their surroundings.

People of this race often have very cheerful, bold, excitable, and energetic personalities while others tens to be loners who prefer to hunt or find resin to their existence through a serious attitude. While they are not the strongest race in either magic, strength, or stamina, they are very fast sprinters and are often the best of acrobats, and are often found to be very sturdy and flexible for their stature. Many suffer from the cat like trait of wanderlust which often takes these few adventurers to far off places in their world.

Males of this species are exceedingly rare, due to that they are rarely conceived; making females the dominant larger portion of the population. Males are coveted as the most valued members of their kind because of this rarity, and are rarely even seen in the open public. But because the genders are hard to tell apart it is hard to ascertain how many there really are because other then face markings and a few differing features they all look alike in the face and body; the only way males are identified from females is usually by their tails, which are slightly thicker when closely compared to females of the same age, and also by their opposite sex when exposed and not wearing cloths.

The male's penis is almost exactly like a human's in the fact that it dose not shrink back into a sheath, but unlike human's, their scrotums stay nestled between their legs beneath them in a nice neat drawn up spot, where they don't move much because they don't hang nearly as freely as humans or other species. In the cat people's mostly women society, and because of the fur they all have, most all cities exclusively of their kind, do not wear cloths unless its really cold out. This is because most of their cities are also located in areas that are much too warm to permit them to wear coverings, and the fact that most of the population is female and they all look alike anyway, no one in their society really care about any kind of modesty.

Most city dwelling males however, do prefer to usually have some kind of covering to hide their sex for when they do become aroused, and often only wear a simple loincloth or other piece of simple cloth to hide themselves. Female cat girls and women have the same general shaped sex as humans girls with the exception of very fine, soft, very short fur. When it comes to their breasts, they most always stay small, and in most cases almost completely flat their entire lives, and this is what often makes it hard to distinguish males from females when both are wearing cloths.

Wolf people:

The Wolf people stand about an average of about eight to eight and a half feet tall, and both males and females are very strong, both sexes are muscled like warriors or body builders, but still retain the physique to be good at running long distances and other acrobatics. This race excels at everything except magic. Like seen in much wolf man art, they basically resemble a werewolf; males have sheaths for their genitals, which are basically that of a real wolf, and the women's sexes are shaped like those of human women. The female's breasts stay between small and medium; for many of them fight as much as the men do.

Other races often wondered which of the two sexes were the more dominant in the few meetings there have been between this secretive race and others, because in those few encounters wolf women were often seen calling the shots. But there had never been any real conformation on which of the two were really in charge, for non were ever brave enough to ask. Wolf people are much stronger then most all the other races, which gives them advantages over most all other races. But as if to counter this, they are seemingly hard wired to never be greedy or disloyal to their people, and their pride and honor are held as their highest regarded traits in all the land; for non have committed deceit, crimes of greed or other dishonorable tasks.

Common pelt colors are basically every shade of a real wolf, silver/white, brown, red, and orange. Uncommon and rare colors are tan, Black, and white. Common eye colors are yellow, brown, blue, and hazel. Uncommon and rare eye colors are silver, red, and orange.

Human data sheet:

Not much to say here, humans are human. The humans are about the most arrogant of all the races, (as many are in real life) but this race also has the primary number of strong magic users in this world. Over the centuries they were eventually also the first creators of a new kind of magician called the spell binder, which only bolstered their arrogance further, as they tried to seize ever growing amounts of land from other races. These acts of greed led to many disputes between humans and the other many races, which also ignited many immense and destructive wars. Many of the humans (Mostly those in charge) often looked upon the other races with disgust and contempt from just being different. The corrupt politics didn't help matters much when dealing with other civilizations, and human priests also call all other races heretics, just for having other leaders, different civilization habits, and beliefs.

Elves data sheet:

The Elves in this story are the oldest of all the races and have strived to keep the balance of the world since ancient times. Like most elves they are a nature and life loving people who live forever in immortality; there are ways for them to be killed, but none of these methods had ever been able to be carried out. These people specialize in magic and are unmatched both mentally and physically.

These people became with drawn after so many millennia of watching the world grow, and often in their society take many years to come to decisions when it is time for them to act. Over the centuries they have fallen into the myths and ledges categories of the other races from lack of contact, and only a very select few even truly know of their existence, which rumored them to reside in a very specific forest.

Others:

There are also, Pig men, Dragons, Centaurs, Minotaurs, and a good number of other races that I need not mention in the story as of now; use your imagination on them, and when they come up, I will also go into some detail.

Legend of the Bloodline

Within all the races scattered throughout Altarra, epic tales were handed down from centuries passed of cat girls with markings. Some of these tales told of epic battles between these women and Kings or Queens that insisted that they abide by their rule, others of how they bested dragons who would sometimes choose to try and lay waste to civilizations. But the one part of these tales that was always made clear was that when these warriors fought, the very ground people stood on and the mountains, all shook in fear of their wrath.

Bloodline Prolog

In the land of Altarra, there once was a small clan of cat people with a special bloodline, and those who belonged to this line had hair white as the moon, bright blue eyes, and markings on their backs and faces. The markings were sharp pitch-black lines of intricate meaning that even they themselves did not know what they meant. Talk of the world's greatest warriors having come from this clan, was deeply integrated in all the legends of their world, and being that the markings on their backs made them too noticeable in the cat people kingdom they had separated themselves from most other cat people and had formed their own society.

Many of the other more religious people of all the races called them the Marked because of the hair and markings the Bloodline had, and revered them as children of the gods. Others who had seen what the warriors of the clan were capable of, feared their power, and would do anything to avoid them.

But then there were also a very select few who wanted to claim their power as their own; and over the course of two centuries, these people who hungered for the power of this bloodline, little by little stole children, and killed those who protected the offspring, and the clan grew smaller. Lords and ladies of other lands relentlessly sot to steal the power of the bloodline, and sent endless droves of thieves, assassins, and every so often armies to take this power by force.

The clan protected all of their young with tenacity, but could not stop the endless supply of enemies from every so often succeeding in what they had been sent to do. But due to how greedy all the lords were, non had actually succeeded in getting one of these children or toddlers to their kingdoms alive.

This is because whenever one of these children were successfully pilfered, word spread like wild fire and the army that possessed this child were always turned against by the other armies of other rulers and fought for the prize. These bloody battles always resulted in the object of their desires being killed in the process, thus non had what they wanted and the cycle continued.

The clan valued every member in it, but the males were at the top of their list to protect. For just like the rest of their race, male children were rarely born, but in this clan, males of this bloodline were even rarer. Males of this clan also held the clan's greatest secret; a secret that non would divulge even unto their dying breath to an outsider.

The bloodshed continued for many years till only two decades before the day. By this time, there were only a few of the bloodline left; these last members who survived, were only the most adept survivalists, and had long fled the clan's ancestral lands. These survivors effectively hid themselves away from a world that had become trapped in an endless cycle of evil; so that they could live and possibly start anew. They succeeded for many years, because eventually the bloodline was thought to have been lost forever after the last great war by all who sot it.

But this ultimately would not last; for five year before the day, there was an unexpected accident that once again revealed the existence of their line again...

Chapter one. Last of the Bloodline

It was a dark night in the woods of Poison fang forest of the shattered kingdom; a lone humanoid wolf man who had been named guardian of a small cat boy, stood nearby crouched in an ancient oak tree, keeping an eye on his sleeping feline charge. With keen wolf eyes, he was adept at spotting foes in the darkest of nights as he had done for almost three years now; always making sure that no one could sneak up on them, as the young boy slept near a small pond. They had been camped here for almost a week now as they had been taking a small break from being constantly on the move ever since the boy's mother entrusted her son's life to him.

*** Almost three years back. The boy's mother who's name was Annasia, had arranged to meet the wolf man at an inn in secret, so she could hire the wolf man for the mission they had arranged for him to undertake. She purposed that she would give her son to him so that he may secretly smuggle the boy far from her current position, and she would lead the spies that she knew would be following her away, and someday meet at a specified place in so many years, where the two of them would then continue to search for a safe place for her son to grow up and live peacefully.

In preparation for this, Annasia put her son into a magical trance like sleep so he would leave her without making a scene. After conducting their final agreed upon contract, she hugged her son one last time before she handed her son of only nine years old at the time, over to the gigantic almost nine foot tall wolf man. But just after that, as she was handing the wolf man the payment for the mission, which was more then substantial.

The inn shook with a concussion shock wave as the backside of the inn exploded into flame. The human spies had followed her, and made their moves sooner then Annasia had expected. They had managed follow her after she tried to loose them long enough to complete the contract with the wolf man, and with them was an army that now had the building surrounded, and a few magicians shot fireballs at the building lighting a few of the eaves on fire on the back of the building.

Annasia told the wolf man warrior to look after her son, as she finished handing him the large sack of gold in payment for the mission he was now on, which he quickly dropped into his pack that he quickly strapped on. With no time to act, Annasia rushed the men armed with pikes that were coming up the stairs from below and yelled for the wolf man to run.

After jumping out the nearest window, the wolf man could see that the inn was surrounded, and climbed to the highest part of the roof, so he could see all the way around the building, and saw no way to breach the thick lines of men without a large amount of bloodshed. Though after looking to the front of the inn, there was an almost clear place where the pike men had all rushed inside already. As he made his way towards the front of the inn, he became the targete of the magicians on the ground and had to fend of their spell as he jumped along the parts of the eaves that had not caught fire yet.

After deflecting a few more spells as he made it to the front of the burning building, he preformed an inhuman leap from the rooftop and landed right where he had intended to make his escape. But just as he landed, it quickly became apparent that the humans had been ready for this and had been in hiding in the surrounding foliage before he had ever jumped, and were now closing around him with sharp billed-pikes and spears. Trapped with men enclosing around him as they made him backpedal back in front of the inn's door, the wolf man could see that his end was near, and there was no way out.

So he laid the limp sleeping boy on the ground to the side of the door, heaved his massive sword from his back that was about as long as a tall man; and just as he was about to lay his life down in his last bloody battle; a loud boom and concussion came from the inn's door from within. The wolf man jumped out of the way to stand over the boy just in time as the door flew off its hinges with a second boom and it flew into the men that had been circling him. Both the humans and the wolf man alike were amazed to see the boy's mother come through the shattered remains of the door way, leaving the bloody pulverized bodies of human men behind her.

Bloody and injured she had killed all the men inside the inn, and now with a massive blast of pure magical energy she destroyed almost all of the forces that blocked the escape rout. But she had already sustained fatal injuries from her frantic fighting inside the inn to get to the door as she now told him to go. Knowing her body would give out soon, she intended to make her final last stand as she began gathering her magic power for another blast and murmured a few incantations.

The wolf man didn't hesitate as he picked the boy back up, and sprinted through the gaping opening of dazed soldiers, and slashed any who came too near, while the boys mother used the last minutes of her life and strength to hold back the other soldiers. Minutes later as the wolf man made it to the forest; the land beneath his feet gave a great heave as a massive explosion brightened the sky from the direction he had come from. He knew with out a doubt that the boy's mother was now dead and had sacrificed herself for them.

They had escaped, but only barley, for after the boy woke the next day, they then spent the next eight months trying to loose the scouts that doggedly tracked them. The wolf man was always able to detected when these men were nearby, and always hid the boy well before he dealt with these sadly out matched men before they could call for reinforcements. With his keen senses and knowledge of wilderness, the wolf man rarely gave any men the chance to signal others of what they had found, and soldiers often found these men brutally sliced to ribbons by wolf man claws or slashed in half by a giant sword long after, which without fail instilled fear in the men. But the strict orders of their superiors were law, and even though they were the only things standing between these frightened soldiers and franticly fleeing for home in fear, non would question or cross these orders; for all who did were put to death in the name of the King... ***
