Adjusting

Story by Elanna on SoFurry

I was actually a little intimidated when I took this commission, as the concept seemed difficult. I've realized later that having lots of individual scenes can be fun, and actually often flows easier for me.

Ryan was a very average man. He had short brown hair, green eyes, and a slightly heavy build. He worked an ordinary office job, had a small group of regular friends, and no romantic ties. He'd been sort of coasting through life, at least until the previous night.

Ryan had had the most wonderful night. As he drove toward work, he found himself thinking about the girl, Alisha, that he'd met and come home with. She'd been beautiful, with soft, gently tanned skin, smooth dark hair. . . And those strangely exotic eyes, like a fox's. Probably a bit of magic to them, and that just made her seem more interesting. He thought of the bag he'd found in the morning, accidentally left by her, and was happy he had a reason to call her about it, to see her again even briefly.

He grinned to himself as he changed lanes, mind somewhere else. He knew he was hopelessly infatuated, but it was a warm, happy feeling. They'd come home and. . . what? His brow furrowed. Had they slept together? He remembered talking, her touching him, discussing some artifact that they were showing off at the local museum. That couldn't have been all though, if he felt like this. . . And she must have left him at some point. He shrugged, not letting it get to him. If he was happy he was happy. He absently checked his rear view mirror, then quickly looked again as something caught his attention.

His eyes were a sort of orange color, and had slit pupils. He adjusted the mirror for a better look, and that only confirmed it. They were just like Alisha's, fox eyes. He didn't have eyes like that. Or. . . did he? Actually, that seemed like what he remembered. He'd thought they were green for a moment, but that couldn't be right, they'd always looked like this. He chuckled, putting the mirror back up. He clearly hadn't slept enough, and he decided he'd better keep his attention back on the road until he got into work. He absently scratched at one of his ears, feeling a bit itchy. It was probably just the fur.

***

Ryan walked across the parking lot, ears twitching a bit. They'd been bothering him since the drive, and he wasn't sure why. He reached a hand up, running his finger over the triangular shape, the soft fur. Nothing felt odd there, it was just annoying. He ran his card through the reader and walked inside, heading toward his desk.

One of his coworkers looked at him and stared. Then another. Ryan stared back, blinking. He walked by them, ears folded a little, wondering what was wrong. He checked his clothes, ran a hand over his face, but he seemed clean and groomed. Had he done something wrong? He sat down and looked at the desk across from him, where Sam worked, "Hey, Sam?"

His coworker turned, then gave him that same stare. Ryan sighed, "What's up? Everyone keeps looking at me like I did something wrong."

Sam swallowed, "Er, no, nothing wrong, it's just. . . your ears? You have fox ears."

Ryan chuckled, nodding, "Well yeah, I've always. . ." He blinked. Wait, why did he have fox ears? He couldn't remember any reason, or anyone mentioning them before. No one else did, he'd never even heard of anyone who did. He clutched his head, it felt like his brain was throbbing, he was breathing hard. . . and then it passed.

He looked up, back at Sam, who was looking at him in concern, "Er, sorry. But yeah, I've always had them, right?"

Sam frowned, giving him a confused look, "Had what?"

Ryan returned the look, "The ears? Fox ears?" he pointed to them as they perked up.

Sam nodded slowly, "Yeah. Kind of hard to forget something like that. Anyway, I should get to work, I hope you clear up whatever's up with you today."

Ryan turned around, shaking his head. That was really odd. He definitely needed more sleep. Then again, Alisha had been so worth it. He thought about her lovely lips and perfect body again, then sighed and got to work on his latest report. He really wished he didn't have work today. He'd love to go visit that exhibit she'd mentioned. What was it she'd talked about? The Vulpes Diamond, right, he really wanted to see that. At least it was a Friday, he could visit this weekend. Probably not that evening, since David was coming over to hang out after work.

The day went by slowly. He kept getting odd looks from the others, but the few times he asked about it again they couldn't actually think of what they'd been looking at. It still put him on edge though, and made the very dull report even worse than it should have been.

On top of that, he kept scraping things with his claws. They sat weird on his mouse, he kept clicking things when he didn't mean to or scraping across keys on his keyboard. It made everything slower, he really needed to talk to someone about getting equipment made for them. And his shoes were just slightly too small for his toeclaws, though not enough to be painful. He'd have to get the next half size up next time, though. . . he felt another wave of dizziness as he thought it was odd he hadn't gotten new ones by now, he'd had them a while.

It was a relief when lunch finally came and he could head away from his oddly behaving co-workers and other work annoyances, "Sam, I'm taking a long lunch today, I think I need some time to settle myself. I'll get the report done still." Sam nodded, seeming to agree and not making an issue of it. Ryan gratefully walked out to hopefully get his head back where it should be. He strode out with a slight sway to his hips.

Ryan felt like eating somewhere a bit nicer for once, so he headed for the open air cafe across the street. It was slow, and a bit pricier, so he usually avoided it, but the atmosphere was much more pleasant. He adjusted his shirt while he waited to be seated. It was hanging a little loose, which made him smile. Nice to know he was losing some weight finally. Having to redo his fairly dull wardrobe was a small price to pay for that. Maybe something that didn't itch so much when it brushed the fur on his legs.

The host led him to a table and gave a menu to look over. How long had it been since he'd been there? He didn't recognize the choices, but a lot of it looked good. He was mulling them over as the waitress came up to the table.

"Can I start you off with a drink, ma'am?"

Ryan looked up from the menu in surprise, "Ma'am?" He looked himself over and blushed. Well, he did have sort of girly features. And long hair. And a bit of curve to his hips. And. . . his chest? He was sure that was just the way the shirt was hanging. He spoke is his fairly feminine voice, cheeks a bit red, though he was smiling, "I'm not really a ma'am," he corrected gently.

The woman blinked and looked a little flustered, "Oh, sorry, of course not sir. Um, so did you want a drink?"

He ordered an iced tea and settled back in, chuckling over that. He couldn't really blame her, he was a pretty good looking guy. He smiled, thanking her and taking the tea once it arrived. And though his chest wasn't too big, he did have a perfectly nice pair of breasts. That gave him pause again as he looked at them, staring at his own chest where it rounded beneath his shirt. That. . . looked. . . just like it should. It was his fault for trying to act as a male when he was mostly female anyway, but he couldn't really change how he felt about himself, and female just didn't feel quite right. Body shape or no.

The waitress was quite courteous as she brought Ryan his meal. He had a little trouble managing the fork and knife with his claws, but that quickly went away and he was using them with proper grace. He had a nice salmon dish with a spring salad on the side, and wondered why he didn't eat decent food more often. He wondered if he could sneak in a trip to the museum too. . . But that was probably pushing it for the lunch break, sadly. As he was finishing up, he felt a little tug between his legs, something shifting a bit. He reached down and carefully adjusted the folds of his pants. He thought for a moment that he felt a little bulge pull away, but when he brushed his fingers over it again, there was nothing there. He put it from his mind and summoned the waitress for the check.

She hustled over, "Ready for the check, ma'am?"

Ryan smiled and nodded her head, "Yes, thank you."

***

Ryan felt rejuvenated as she swished back into the office. The itchiness of her lower body fur in her loose pants was the only remaining annoyance now. She smiled at the looks she got as she walked, her coworkers admiring her openly. Her ears perked up proudly as she swayed by them back to her desk. She turned and grinned at Sam, noticing his gaze, "I feel much better after that. Miss anything while I was gone?"

He shook his head quickly, eyes roving her form. She smirked, but let it slide, "Um, no, things are just the same here. Think you still have time to finish your report?"

She glanced back at her screen and started to nod. Though. . . it was going to be a lot of boring work, and she had things to do that night. A friend coming over and a museum to visit. She considered, reaching back to adjust the back of her loose pants some. She stroked her fluffy fox tail out, absently wondering how it had ended up caught in there. She turned back to Sam with a warm smile.

"Actually, Sammy, it is a long report, and I've got a lot to do tonight. You're really good at these, would you mind just covering for me today?" she crooned, her orange eyes glowing faintly.

Sam's eyes locked with hers, his expression a bit dazed. She scooted her chair closer and reached out her clawed fingers, gently brushing his cheek with the back of them, "It would mean a lot to me, and I'll do something for you later. You know I'm a good worker, I just need a little me time tonight, mmm?"

He nodded slowly, then smiled dreamily, "Of course, Ryan, that sounds fine. I'm sure I can get it done for you."

She grinned and gave him a quick hug, "Mmm, thank you so much, Sammy. Just let the boss know I'm out, and I'll do something nice for you on Monday." She winked and stood up, swishing her tail behind her as she strode happily out of the office, soaking in the looks the men gave her. She might even keep her promise. She giggled as she stepped out, then paused on the steps. She was having to hold up her pants to keep them from slipping off. She should really go buy some new clothes before anything else, that itchiness was getting to her too. And honestly, her outfit was just horrible in general.

***

Ryan had trouble thinking of any good clothing stores for some reason, so she had to drive around a little before she found one that looked suitable. She had a little time before David would be coming to visit, enough to pick up some decent clothing. She walked in the store and let out a sigh of relief. Decent dresses in her size, and so many lovely shoes. She wasn't going to be going to the museum in her ugly shirt, slacks, and dress shoes.

Her shoes were actually bothering her the most, her claws had been feeling squeezed for a while now. She kicked them off, only to see that her claws had ripped right thought her white socks. This. . . She really needed to start from scratch here, she'd obviously not been thinking clearly when she got dressed. Probably just, mmm, addled after that wonderful night with Alisha. She giggled, swooning a bit, then looking around. She snagged a nice, simple black dress, checking the price tag. Hmm, she couldn't afford that. . . But she was sure she'd manage something. She grabbed some open shoes too, strappy heeled sandals that wouldn't be a problem for her claws. Silk panties and bra finished up her armload as she walked to the changing area.

Ryan stripped her clothes off once she was in private, down to nothing. She checked herself out in the mirror, feeling like she'd forgotten how good she looked. Slender, nicely curvy body with ample chest. Long, fox-colored hair with white highlights, triangular ears and slit eyes, marks like whiskers on her cheeks. Then, lower, below her waist her body was covered in white and orange fur from her tight pussy down to her furred and clawed humanoid feet. Her tail swished. . . No, two tails swished as she admired herself. She must have lost some weight, something really did look different. She grinned at herself and slipped on underwear, then dress, ending with the much more comfortable shoes, heels or not.

She adjusted the clothes a bit, and kicked her old ones into a pile with a grimmace. She grabbed her wallet, phone, and keys, and said good riddance to the rest. She strode out of the booth, swishing her dress and tails as she moved. She headed right for the door, acting like she had every right to just walk on out with the clothes, eyes glowing as she did. None of the employees tried to stop her, and she smirked. It was so nice to be part kitsune. She turned to blow the shop a kiss as she stole the start of her new wardrobe, then headed for her car.

***

Ryan was anything but an ordinary woman. She had the power of a magical creature, a kitsune, in her, and she loved using the powers it gave her to get anything she wanted. Tonight, what she wanted was the Vulpes Diamond, and she was going to have it. She'd opened bag that Alisha had left for her in the apartment, helpfully filled with burglary tools. So thoughtful. Ryan lounged on her couch, finishing up her claw painting and makeup. She grinned into the little mirror she'd stolen, showing her fangs.

The doorbell rang and she slid to her feet and over to the door. She opened it and rested in the doorframe, smiling at her stunned friend. David wasn't really much to look at, Ryan wondered a bit why she bothered keeping him around. Well, he'd be somewhat useful tonight at least.

"I brought, um, beer?"

She nodded and took it from him, then coaxed him in, "So good to see you David, and thank you. Why don't you sit down on the couch. I'll join you in a minute." He nodded in a daze, plopping heavily onto the soft cushions.

Ryan reached back and adjusted the hole she'd made for her tails. She had to tug a bit, her third tail seemed to have gotten stuck. She'd have to widen it more later. She set the pack of beer down with a roll of her eyes, then hopped back over to the couch. She practically fell onto it, sprawling across and placing her head into David's lap. She looked up at him and stroked his chest, "Mmm, would you like to go to the museum with me tonight, sweetie?"

David blinked a few times, looking down. Ryan smiled sweetly up at those dazed eyes. So little willpower, so easy to wrap around her finger. She could probably do this without any magic, but why make things hard?

"The museum? I thought we were. . . hanging out."

"But we will hang out, just in your car. I shouldn't use mine for this, and it will be helpful to have a driver outside if things go wrong, you know?" She reached up and ran a claw under his chin. She could see he was a little too confused, "Because I'm stealing a diamond," she added with a fanged grin.

***

David pulled up and put the car in park, looking nervous. Ryan ignored him, she knew he'd do what she needed. Maybe she'd make a few improvements to him later, no reason her underlings couldn't be a little more interesting. More like, mmm, Alisha. Alisha with her lovely fox eyes, obviously a bit of kitsune in her too. Lovely, perfect, Alisha. Ryan sighed happily, then stepped out of the car, heels clicking as she walking toward the pillared entrance of the museum.

It seemed to be closed, not too surprising on a weekday night. There was no one obvious outside to let her in, so she'd just need to find a convenient way to break in. The place likely had some magical wards, along with more mundane security, around the diamond itself, but she doubted there was more than a basic security system hooked up to the exterior. She scouted around the side, finding a nice dark area with a somewhat easy to reach window. She removed her awkward shoes, setting them somewhere convenient to grab later as they did match her dress well, then deftly climbed the ten feet up to the locked window, claws scraping just a little on the way.

She perched on the window's ledge, noting the security logo in the corner. Probably just a magnetic contact alarm. She took out the glass cutter that Alisha had thoughtfully left in her kit, and carefully began to work. There was a little enchantment on it to make it easier and cleaner, she could feel the tingle of magic through the handle, and she made short work of the glass. She cut a hole big enough to slip through and carefully removed it, then casually tossed it away over the fence. She could hear the loud shatter, but it was far enough away she doubted anyone in the museum heard or made the connection. Then she leapt through the hole and landed softly on her feet in the darkness.

She pulled the map from her kit and glanced at it quickly. It wasn't too far to the correct showroom. She was sure there would be a guard or two, but she was counting on that. A few guards weren't much trouble, but alarms could get her overwhelmed. She smiled and casually made her way over.

The area around the diamond was well lit even at night, and there were a pair of uniformed guards standing watch, as she'd expected. The diamond was in a reinforced clear case. It was a lovely orange gem with a soft glow to it. She could detect a faint added magical aura as well, further protection both around the guards and the gem. Well, she had a lot of magic herself. She smiled as she swished on over, the two men quickly noticing her and drawing their guns.

"Oh, you don't need those, I'm not here to cause trouble. I just thought you could use a little company."

They were struggling, she could tell. The wards were keeping them from succumbing as easily as most, but she was getting through a little. She walked up closer to one, moving slowly, harmlessly, seductively. She could see the sweat on his brow as she stood in front of him. She reached up and gently pulled the gun away from his trembling fingers, then kissed him on the lips, "Mmm, that's better, you don't need this, dear." He gulped and nodded, eyes glazing.

"Stop! Put that down or I'll fire, I will!"

She kissed the first guard again, then turned to the second, meeting his eyes. He took a deep breath, struggling to maintain his focus. She began to approach, claws clicking gently with each step, "Stop, I mean it. Please. . ."

She smiled, then took a quick step forward and to the side. He fired, as she'd been afraid he might, narrowly missing his fellow guard, but badly missing her. His reflexes were horrible in this state. She stepped in beside him and put one hand on the gun, the other going down to slide against his crotch. He gasped and released the weapon, and she let it fall with a clatter.

She slid her other arm around his waist and pressed her chest up against him, her breasts squishing just a little. She brought her face close, breath warm across his cheek, tongue flicking briefly across her lips. He gasped as she curled her fingers against his crotch, his eyes going nice and distant.

"Mmm, so much better. I could really use someone like you, cutie. Someone who knows just how all the security here works, how to open up that case for me and give me the diamond." She lifted one of her feet, toeclaws running up his pantleg, her knee brushing his thigh. She squeezed again, just a little more, and brushed her lips against his, "Please?" she whispered.

She'd gotten him into full on zombie mode now, whatever wards were in place completely overwhelmed. She glanced at the other guard, who was still looking nice and vacant too. Perfect, they obviously hadn't expected a kitsune here. She grinned, "Now, hon, go grab that gem for me, mmm? It'll make me so happy." She kissed him firmly, then let him go. He stumbled off toward the case while she waited eagerly. So easy, just the way she liked it.

The guard used a key and put in a code, and then the case opened. That was actually less than she'd expected, she was sort of disappointed. He waved his hand twice over the diamond, then carefully picked it up. Well, another ward at least. They really did need to try harder though. She liked easy, but some things were just a bit insulting. Still, as he walked back, carrying her prize, it was hard to mind too much. She snatched the glowing orange gem from his grip and gave a quick kiss to his cheek. She could feel the power radiating from the diamond, and grinned widely, "Thanks sweetie. Now both of you be dears and forget what happened here." She winked as they started to blink in confusion, swishing her tail as she scampered out to make a quick run to the security room. Time to destroy the footage, then head out the window to freedom.

***

Ryan slipped her shoes back on once she was outside. David should still be there, ready to go, and she should probably hurry. The guards would be confused for a while, but they'd eventually snap out of it and notice the diamond was missing, and the place would be crawling with police before too long. She giggled at the thought. Then thought of Alisha, and how happy she'd be to finally have the diamond. Ryan thought of how thankful she'd be once she. . . she gave it over. . . but it was hers? She'd stolen it, why was she. . .

She staggered against the wall, clutching the diamond in one hand and her head in the other. Why was she giving it to Alisha? Of course she. . . she loved her, but she didn't serve anyone, even her. She was a kitsune, she was powerful, she made others serve her. It wasn't right!

Her mind shattered, splintered. Ryan blinked and stared down at himself. He was a girl, a part animal girl. What the hell? He shuddered, and she gasped, nearly dropping the gem. She could remember now, she could feel both parts of herself. Her and him, woman and man. He. . . this wasn't his body, what had Alisha done to him? She'd made him a woman. The glossed over changes to his anatomy hit him hard now, as he could clearly recall everything that had seemed so natural before. Why had she done all this to him? Alisha. . . her eyes narrowed, and she growled softly. Yes, she could see it now, so clearly. Alisha was a lesser kitsune woman, she'd used her powers to seduce Ryan, to seduce. . . her, and to place a far more powerful magic into her. Ryan the man was angry at her for that, but Ryan the woman approved, and even thanked her. What she could not accept though, was that she'd clearly tried to control her, using some other sort of magic to try and warp her into a servant. All to get the gem that she wanted, the one they'd probably expected Alisha to come for, not another, more powerful woman. Serving someone went against everything she was, and this lesser creature would pay for that.

Her male self struggled to rise. She tried to push him down, but she was still him, and to her surprise he rose to the surface without much trouble. He agreed with her though, he was happy to get back at Alisha. He frowned, "This is still my body, but you know how to do this sort of thing better than I do. So, let's work together, and I'll let you lead. Okay? Just don't. . . don't try anything." He remembered how casual she was in controlling people, and wondered if this was a good idea. But he'd been warped and twisted by someone, and his other self seemed to know just how to do that back.

She grinned and pulled herself back up, "Oh, don't worry sweetie. You can trust me." She winked to herself and walked off to the car, plans already swirling about in her lovely head. Yes, just leave everything to her.
