A Second Chance Prologue

(This is the first work that I have posted here on sofurry.)
The year is twenty-five fifty-five and the world is still recovering from the great war that ended five years ago. This war was not man vs. man, but man vs. wolven (a race which had evolved from canines in the last 250 years), and it had raged for ten years. For the first five years of the war the wolven posed little to no threat to humanity, until an order of humans known as the Knights of Eltoran(Eltoran is the wolven version of Heaven) appeared. With the help of these humans the wolven finally stood a chance against the more advanced weapons of man. On the tenth year humanity was about ready to come apart at the seams under the attacks of the wolven and it was at this point that the wolven sent a message to the united nations stating that the war was over, that neither side would be victorious. This declaration of peace soon became an alliance that would never be broken.
This is the story of one knight of Eltoran who died, but was given a second chance.
Prologue: Last Words
There I lay, in a split second reaction I had jumped in front of a bullet aimed at the only person who had ever cared about my existance.
"No Jaden, please hold on. SOMEONE, ANYONE HELP!!!" yelled the figure of my affection tears trickling down her beautiful wolven muzzle, falling into the open wound on my chest.
"Tali...you must stay strong for...my life is at an end...please you must...live for both of us" I spoke blood streaming from my mouth, as my breaths got lighter and my vision started to blur.
"No Jaden, you can't die please, stay with me" cried Tali as she held my bleeding chest close to her body.
"Take care of...your child and may...he live a good life...These are my last words...
I...
Love...
You" I whispered as my body went limp and I took my final breath.
