Part 3 of DDS...

Day 4:

This day was both stressful and unexciting for the scientist as their three subjects refused to get out of bed that morning. Having slept throughout the entire evening after their shower yesterday, missing dinner and their routine morning checkups today, the men in women on duty were baffled to figure out what was going on.

Almost every implement imaginable was used to try to wake the dragon, Dane and 'roo but they all ended in failure, much to the confusion of trained minds. This was both a blessing and a curse since it meant that staff could go into the three men's rooms and take samples of blood and saliva from each other to document these bizarre effects without having to get the consensus of the subjects on hand. That may have actually been the easy part since all that the scientist had to do was open the three male's jaws and swipe inside of their muzzles and then prick the sides of their arms with needles to draw out the necessary biological agent.

However, curious minds got the better of good judgment and the doctors on staff began to try 'other' methods with the dragon, Dane and roo, the likes of which might have been very unethical had the three been awake. Sample were taken and documented as incisions were cut into the men and then capped into beakers and jars. Stimulations were used to collect samples of urine and semen and when everything that could have been done, at least to minds willing to break some of the rules in the name of progress was completed, one nervous researcher took a brave chance and opened the eyelid of the sleeping Alex.

What the person made him cock his head in confusion as where the iris of the dog should have been there was just a clear film of a mucus like membrane covering the entire corona. Quick decisions were made and in the end the scientists decided, for the sake of not wanting to damage what could possibly be a medical breakthrough, or train wreck, that it would be wise to leave Alexander be and let keen eyes watch over the others, just in case this was part of the process that could evolve the other man. This verdict was echoed when the same kind of substance was found covering both Jessie's and Maxwell's eyes so quietly all the heads present accented to the idea and left the dragon, Dane and 'roo alone.

Moral concern and parental worry actually began to resound between the assembled group of eggheads when, after taking what they needed, they still could not wake the three test subjects up...even ten to twelve hours later.

This definitely went onto the record as unnatural...yet it was far too late to stop the process. It may have been too late the moment the three men signed themselves away on the dotted line...however that little piece of knowing was cast to the wayside in favor of watching...and waiting silently for what was to come...

Day 5:

The scientists were thrilled when Jessie, Alexander and Maxwell woke up, all at the same time curiously, on this day. The staff on duty at the time, it had been six in the morning when the intern on hand had sounded the call to wake everyone up, instantly went to see about their subjects with designs to ask them a million and one questions. However, when the research on duty had open the doors to the dragon's, Dane's and 'roo's rooms the ones who had opened the doors first had all but been bowled over as Jessie, Alex and Max tore out of the rooms and then instantly went onto the prowl to try and find one another.

This severely confused the men and women in the white coats as they helped up their sprawled coworkers from off the floor and then began to go after the almost feral men. Nothing about this behavior had been recorded earlier and without having much data to go on in the first place about the effect of the pathogen on behavioral patterns of anthromorphs, there was little for them scientific team to go on. However despite the lack of sufficient data amongst the researchers were quick in gather information on the three males as they tried to follow Jessie, Alex and Maxwell on their search for each another.

It was a short hunt since the three men had been spread out together along the same floor, but when they did find one another the scientists were hell bent on getting as far away from them as possible. There was no pause or short moment of reprieve between the three of them as one moment the dragon, Dane and kangaroo were running down three separate hallways into each other, and then the next they bodily crashed into one another. Arms, legs and other assorted limbs went every which way as the three went at each other like feral animals in a need to...to...do something with each other. To this day, no one was really sure what exactly happened, but the cameras in the hallways caught everything and later documentation would shed a light on all that was made to be seen as evolution ripped a new hole in the fabric of modern science and understanding.

Clothes were torn off like pieces of tissue paper as Jessie and his brood clawed the useless garments away from their bodies. It was a medical curiosity as to how the elongated claws belonging to the dragon, Dane and 'roo seemed to have thickened into deadly talons overnight, many of the researchers offered speculations on how the three subjects could have produced the material grow out their nails, but it was a moot point at the moment. This being especially true as Jessie, Alexander and Maxwell used their new weapons to quickly relieve their sweltering bodies from the uncomfortable clothing with relieved grunts.

From what the others could see behind the safety of their monitors there had definitely been an increase in muscle growth between each of the men as their bodies seemed to almost swell even greater as they huffed and panted while growling at one another. Many noted with raised eyes on how Max seemed to have gained a serious aggressiveness about himself that wasn't common to today's kangaroo anthromorph as the black furred marsupial grunted and ducked his head low while staring at his companions. The large ears of the 'roo made interesting movements, in the scientists opinions, as the fluffy folds flicked up onto Max's head as though he seemed to be listening out for any kind of noise that would alert him to oncoming danger while Jessie and Max seemed totally focused on one another. This led many to believe that although the three men might have lost some of their mental restraint they hadn't completely given in to their more base instincts to fight and flee.

There had to have been something more intellectual knocking around up inside of the other's heads, or at least in Maxwell's noggin, as neither the dragon, Dane or kangaroo made any kind of move to assault one another, despite what the research team had initially thought would happen. Whatever was going on, it was deeper and more meaningful than something somebody could have thought up and then casted into a bad B-movie. No...this was important and everyone behind the screen waited with baited breaths to see just what would become of this new situation.

For Jessie, Alex and Max there were no need for words between them as they all knew, on a sublevel, just what had happened during their hibernation. The time spent in deep sleep had been hell on them with their bodies changing on a subatomic level to where their bodies could actually no longer be categorized simply as being anthromorphic in nature. However, this time spent had been but a necessary evil to induce the procreation of the new life that was even now growing inside of each of them. What the scientist all thought had been a random genetic boding that had been recently unearthed in the darker reaches of the world were actually unfamiliar strands of DNA that had been accidently created by minds that were best left locked away in cages.

As a great mind said, oh so truly, the best kinds of advancements in science often came from when genius ideals and common stupidity meshed together under accidental circumstances.

Splices of unseen binary code that was once previously seen on the planet billions of years ago, when the planet had been home to much stranger evolutionary creatures, had been cocktailed with modern species of animals that were far from fit to contain such chaotic and complex genetic material. The results with the mice and feral canines from before had been the tip of the iceberg to what was possible had the biological coding been given free rein to grow and mutate. But now that it had been unleashed inside of the three prime male candidates to progress on its own...new life had been found today that would change the face of much that had been thought about the psychology of 'survival of the fittest'.

But again this was of a controversial point that had no place in the minds of the three men as the dragon, Dane and 'roo scraped their claws against the tiles floors. Their hardened nails pulled up the material in bits and pieces without much effort as the weak ceramic was rake up like leaves underneath metal teeth. Strings of light drool ran down the sides of Max's muzzle as he looked between the two larger males, watching them with keen eyes as the veins and ligaments of the dragon and Dane twitched and pulsed as both of them made ready to pounce. It would be a toss up to see who went first, but whoever did...Max would be the one to gain the most benefit as he watched...and waited...

Jessie growled and then roared as he dove for Alex. The dragon's wings had all but become larger during the night to support the increased bulk of the maturing male, but at the moment they proved to be useless weights onto his back as his form clumsily flew through the air towards the canine. While normally a dragon in flight was a beautiful thing to see, Jessie didn't look as such as his amplified mass mimicked an oncoming wrecking ball as the reptile cut through the air to tackle the Dane. Gasps echoed throughout the room with the scientists as they thought they were about to see the beginnings of a bloodbath made real...how little they knew indeed when Alex just smirked uncharacteristically at the dragon and braced himself for impact.

The Great Dane gave an echoing roar of his own that equaled, if not excelled, the force of the reptile's call as he stood his ground with his feet planted firmly underneath him in such a way that their weight cracked the floor with his imprints.

Inches from bowling into him the Dane was caught unawares as a firm weight dragged him down just in time for Jessie to sail foolishly overhead and then crash into a nearby wall, shattering it, but surprisingly not injuring himself in the process.

The Dane hissed in confusion as he looked down to see a familiar black form crouched at his side and then blinked when a firm hand grabbed him by the tail and threw him to the ground as though he were a pup. A shudder raced throughout the entire hallway as the Dane found himself flush up against the cold tiles below his feet, Alex's body quickly becoming pinned as Max crouched over and then dropped him full weight onto him. All of mattered little to Alex as a snarling face peered down directly above his muzzle just as a black maw opened right in front of the canine's eyes.

A long prehensile tongue, both slimy and dripping with a thick semblance of drool, wormed itself way from Maxwell's mouth as the 'roo leaned himself down further and then shoved his face forward onto Alexander's snout. The tongue was heavy with some kind of gelatinous goop that made the canine wrinkle his nose in disgust as his sense of taste was bombarded by the viscous material before a forced veil of relaxation dropped down over the Dane's eyes. It appeared as though the 'roo was able to secrete some kind of toxin into other that pacified its intended victim if the tension boiling out of Alex's body was anything to go by. It didn't stop the black patched canine from struggling completely as those watching could see eager little twitches and jerks rolling throughout the Dane's form as his thumping tail pounded the floor behind him.

The fight was strong in Alex and had Max not been fighting with everything he had to hold the other down the 'roo was almost certain that he would have found himself underneath the other male in a heartbeat. However, being that he was the one in control and slipping his own brand of calming fluids into the dog's belly, Max had little to fear from the other man as he watched Alex's eyes start to roll up into his head as liquid submission was pumped into the Dane's stomach.

A sudden shock went through the 'roo as a clawed hand clamped down fully onto Max's shoulder, pulling him off of Alex quickly and then tossing him over the side of a certain ravenous red and black dragon's left shoulder. The loss of contact had Alex blinking as he quickly regained his wits from the sudden attack from his packmate, that was, before a looming black and red form towered over him like a curse. Rolling his head to the side the Dane coughed and then sputtered up the slime that had tried to inseminate both his body and his mind and all of the researchers had to gasp as they watch a bubbling black ooze dribble out and onto the floor as Alex relieved himself of Max's controlling fluids.

It seemed as though that, whatever had happened with the two men, everything came down to who was able to topple the other's first via physical strength and that gelatinous substance. The slimy mass wiggled some before giving a defeated sigh, though no one except the three present could hear this, as the goop deflated before hissing as it turned into a gaseous compound that rose up into the air and then dissipated. Letting this be done with, Alex quickly regained his former equanimity and competence as he grunted and then stared up at Jessie with eyes that were literally pulsing with the need to wrestle control of the reptile's very being away from the dragon.

A garbled noise came out of the dragon's mouth, followed by clear reddish-black slime, in contradiction to this, and though no one else could have understood what had been said, Alexander understood the language perfectly and growled his contempt of the reptile choice wording.

"Mine..." The dragon purred as he dipped his head down and slurped his tongue out along the Dane's face in an effort to try and force submission out of the other anthromorph. All it would take was for him to get Alexander to open his mouth and accept his dominion over the Dane and then Jessie would have the makings of his own brood to influence and copulate with.

So it was very confusing for the dragon to abruptly get the surprise of all surprises when the dog reached up to grab him by the throat and squeezed his windpipe like a clamp. Apparently, Alex had his own plans that didn't involve itself with being the bitch to the reptile and putting more pressure onto Jessie's throat the Dane made sure this was perfectly clear to the dragon as he snarled up at him in admonishment. A yerlp like noise came from Jessie as he looked down at his broodmate in bewilderment before a chilling smirk creased the canine's face. A short bark was the only answer the dragon got to his previous declaration before icy needles made a path down throughout his spine,

"No. Mine." Reptilian eyes bulged out wide when Alex rolled his shoulder and then moaned aloud before a large, fleshy appendage, reminiscent of a tentacle, wiggled itself out of his back and then shot forward into the dragon's throat.

The discolored and writhing thing wasted little time as it dug deep inside of the dragon's throat, making the flesh along Jessie's esophagus distend despite Alex's paw clamped tightly around his sternum, before heading straight down into Jessie's stomach and then stopping once it was just inside of the fleshy bag. Jessie tried to pull himself back, fighting valiantly as he kicked against the ground to get leverage and bucked into the air to force the Dane to let him go, but it was all for naught when a second tentacle reached around from the other side of his backside and then held his neck taunt.

Had he been able to look behind him the dragon would have seen that Max had long since gotten his second wind and came over to watch the progression of the passing of leadership amongst the group. Dark grey eyes with flecks of black slipping through them noted the battle between the dragon and Dane and keen understanding came in to place as the kangaroo realized a few things of importance. His greatest realization was that he would never be able to stand up against the other two males in a sheer test of physical strength, getting slung of Jessie's shoulder like a half a pound of flour quickly passed that fact along.

While he was good as mental tactics and possessed enough power to wrestle one of the other men had he needed to, Max knew that he would not be able to stand and lead the three of them when it came time to spread out into the world and increase their numbers. What would be needed soon was both a level head and greater bodily might as the three new species had plans to go out and find a place where they could live and evolve away from the prying eyes of the rest of the world. The knowledge that they could never be a part of the rest of the of the world was very clear and instinctual to the dragon, Dane and 'roo, not when they knew that prying eyes were watching them right now and plotting how to take them apart to study them at later dates.

That was what this was all about with them; the raw need to find a capable leader, a chose master who was of their kind and yet stood above each other, coursed through the three with the force of maturing supernova. Realization hastily hit the 'roo like a bolt from out of the blue as the kangaroo realized that between the two men, he would rather have had Alexander as the dominant of the group rather than Jessie. The dragon was all fire and spirit, but that wasn't what they needed, not right at that moment. Newborn as they were, the three would need a much calmer rationale to usher them into the new era. Max came to the conclusion, thusly, that he would be better suited to the shadows and using his wit and guile to get done what needed to be done, once the pack was established to its fullest intent.

The kangaroo would bow to the Great Dane and submit to him fully, now that his pride understood what had to be done, but first he would make sure that the dragon knew his place, and that was on his knees before his broodmaster.

Alexander's eyes looked on with empty passion as Jessie struggled fitfully for several minutes against the hold of the fleshy appendage holding up into the air. The dragon was hell-bent on being free and claiming the Dane as his subordinate however, conditions had conspired against him on this hour to work favor into Alexander's direction. A flex of a pulsing organ inside of the Dane, the new pouch that had grown inside of Alex during the night, and soon the reptile was all but jerking and struggling and then hanging limp in the air as a strange new liquid was pumped inside of his stomach. The same kind of chemical that had been made by Max and Jessie to subdue the Dane now traveled up the length of flesh snaking from out of Alexander's backside and into the dragon to make the reptile submissive to the will of the Dane.

The golden and black flecked eyes belonging to the dragon rolled up into his head as Jessie's stomach expanded almost an inch outwards as new thoughts and loyalties were coded directly inside of his brain. His will and thoughts were all but meaningless as the compound that was being absorbed into his bloodstream overrode his former sensibilities and commanded him to obey his broodmaster to give the Dane everything that he was for the sake of their brood. A few seconds more and the reptile was nothing more than mindless twitches and shudders as the original being that had been 'Jessie' was slowly being replaced by the dragon that would come to Alex to his fullest extent.

The reptile stomach stopped its expanse almost three inches away from where it had been before and the Dane had to smile as he looked on at the girth jiggling underneath Jessie's skin while thinking of how soon it would before the other would be filled with a different substance come later.

Alexander shivered once the deed was done; he could almost smell it on the skin of the dragon as red and black scales twitched and then shivered as black and white lines crossed over the expanse of the reptile's form. Like new data having been typed into a computer's master program the dragon would rise up and then bow with body spread flush before the Dane and offer him all that he was in respect for the position of the new alpha male.

Done with the drone Alex let his new appendage slowly withdraw from the unconscious dragon's throat and then out onto the world before he sprayed his black and white venom onto the reptile's face. Jessie quivered at this and then groaned but did not fight it as he was marked and claimed as part of the new order. His place though, save being underneath Alexander's control, was left in the wind as there was much to be decided on how things would progress in the coming of days. But for now that was unimportant, what was of greater significance was what the being placing the dragon down gently onto the ground at the Dane's feet was going to do next.

A wildcard had been thrown before the Dane and not knowing what to think of this new development the Dane carefully watched Max as the kangaroo looked to him with his usual blank mask dressed neatly along his face.

Alex rose up off of his back and stood to the fullness of his towering height over the 'roo with his fleshy tentacle snapping the air wildly as the dregs of his gooey venom seeped like a dripping bath drain onto the floor. His brown eyes flickered blackness quickly covering their depths and his lips rose up into a drool-filled snarl of aggression. The need to dominant the smaller male tore through the once shy and reserved canine like a wildfire and flexing his claws and shuffling his feet beneath him to ready himself to pile drive his bulk into the other. Alex was determined to see that the 'roo was made his subordinate the same as the dragon and come what may the Dane would put as good as he got to see that his desire to have the other was made real.

Max blinked and looked at the other male with nothing recognizable on his face crossing his face for seconds on end. The 'roo had spent years playing the unknown variable in life and to the Great Dane this was a danger and unnecessary nuisance that he did not need. He would fight the other and test the worthiness of his right to lead with the other, but confusion hastily ran rampant in him as the kangaroo came up to him and knelt onto the floor before opening his mouth wide in preparedness to accept the leadership of the new alpha.

Not knowing what to do the Dane reached out a hand to run the tips of his claws along the face of the 'roo. When Max neither flinched nor pulled away Alex realized that what he was seeing was true and not some sort of game that the other man was trying to coax him into. Using the same hand taking Max's tentacle, held up firmly but motionlessly right above his head, the Dane gripped the flesh of the appendage hard and moved it down on side of the kangaroo to show him that this would not be needed right now. Max didn't resist as he watched the larger male with his muzzle hanging open and his ears turned back on top of his head. The poison from his own pouch would quickly become neutralized by the Dane once Alex filled him with his own venom, however after the pack was established and positions were met out a new sort of fluid would fill the space inside of the 'roo with something that would aid the three of them in their plans to spread out into the world.

Alex's shoulders rolled a second time as a second tentacle pushed out from his backside and then trailed across the air to seep down into the depths of the 'roo's parted lips. With his tongue not resisting, actually coiling around the Dane's prehensile appendage almost wantonly, Alexander was left with no uncertainty as he began to fill his second subordinate with the liquid proof of his authority. To others not of their breed the poison that the canine was secreting would have just made any other anthromorph submissive for maybe a day or more, depending on the length of time to their exposure, but for the new species that the three were...the consequences of taking in the potent substance had permanent effects.

Yet despite knowing this on an instinctive level Maxwell just swallowed happily the new knowledge that he now had a place in life; a place underneath the heels of the budding alpha whose job it would be to care and breed with him and Jessie a new species into the world.

The 'roo's eyes rolled back inside of his head, the same as with what happened with Jessie, and soon Max was trembling almost happily as he was imprinted with his alpha's mark. The same black and white lines that had trailed along the dragon's form made their way up throughout the kangaroo's body, but because of his dark fur coloring it was not clearly visible to most of the outside world.

Yet, Alex knew.

The Dane knew in the same way that he knew that more changes would soon come for them all. On an instinctive level it was as if some unspoken doctrine had been pounded inside of his head to make it so that he would know just about everything that was going to occur at any given time with his packmates. His place as alpha was not the same as what the scientist might have thought. Alex would not end up a dictator or a tyrant that would command his pack just because of some biological matter placed neatly inside of them. The Dane would be just as much as a subordinate to both Jessie and Max as well because inside of them was a growing substance that would feed the alpha and give him the sustenance that he would need to keep himself going day after day. No longer would the food packaged in stores or hunted in the wilds be acceptable for the new creatures that the three men were now.

When they woke later they would see and understand that inside of them was a chemical property that only they could make that would be necessary for them to ingest almost every other day to keep up the strength of their bodies. This agent, without a name for the moment, would be necessary to keep Alex, Jessie and Maw stable, but for the alpha it would be vital less his entire brain structure would collapse in on itself and he would go into a suspended form of hibernation until his body received just the barest hint of a drop. This was to insure that the alpha realized that his subordinates were just as equal to him in the grand scheme of things, but it would give him a piece of his pack so that they would forever be imprinted onto his being.

Looking down at both men, Alex let a smile lift up the corners of his lips as he watched the jiggling forms of both the dragon's and 'roo's bellies wiggle around together as his venom was slowly absorbed into them. His senses all told him that when they awoke the two men would be just as much his as any other part of his body, but more than that they would have their own minds and feelings and would help him bond to them in such a way that their ties would go even deeper than the love they might have found together, had they still be regular anthromorphs.

Alex pulled his tentacle out from the dazed roo's mouth and allowed him to drop down onto the floor next to Jessie as warning signals screamed throughout his being that danger was rapidly coming their way. The Dane understood that there were forces inside of the building that would - eliminate -- them if he did not act in a quick manner to insure his pack's safety.

Turning his head to listen as he heard rapid footsteps beating a path towards his and his packs general direction, Alex snorted before turning his gaze down to the dozing and transforming pair.

Alex let a feral smile cross his lips as he knew what he would have to do next.
