The intro to a new series of mine.

Stats: Hi, my names Ariana Tapple and I was born without a head. Let me explain myself first: I am a 16 year old anthro fox who lives in the town of Middleton, Mass. I am 4' 2" and 110 lbs. I go to school at North Shore Technical, and work in the Northwoods Tower for Taur Incorporated's research division. I may be 16, but I am one of the best researchers here. Also, I like to be called Ari for short.

Medical Miracle: So, back to the part about my head. When I was still in the womb, my head detached from my body. I grew a new brain, as well as some other senses that aren't normal in someone of my species. By the time I was born, my head had been dissolved, so I came out alone. The doctors were shocked that someone like me could survive birth, but I did, and I've lived a perfect life since. As for my senses, I gained echolocation like dolphins and bats have, as well as a sort of telepathy. I can "broadcast" my "speech" out to everyone in the room, or just a select group of people. If needed, I can telecommunicate with other taurs, but it takes some energy. I also gained a sort of enhanced hearing. I feel the vibrations of sound waves of my body, and have learned to interpret them as words and sounds.

Food: Since I can't eat through a mouth, I have to absorb a part of somebody through my skin in order to get my nutrition. I'm not saying they die or are eaten, they just lose a part of their body for a little while. What happens is I touch a part of their body, typically their arm or tail, and it is absorbed into my body. I only need to absorb one limb a day in order to get the right amount of energy.

Sabrina: All this is thanks to the CEO of Taur Inc., Sabrina Dalton. Sabrina is a good friend of mine, and is also my physical trainer, personal psychiatrist, teacher in the Taur Inc. technology, and Godmother. She has known me since I was born. I'm not saying she's old, but her dad worked at the hospital where I was born, and she just happened to be there when they announced me to the world. I love Sabrina, and consider her a part of my family. Often times I take the bus to her house and hang with her for a while. My friends also think she's really cool and a few of them have even gotten transformed by her. My two best friends are even taurs.

Friends: My friend Pierce (we call him Price) is a deer taur, and my friend Katrina (we often call her Hurricane for kicks) is a Golden Retriever-taur. Pierce lives in Danvers right down the road from Sabrina, and Katrina lives two houses over from me in Middleton. All three of us run cross-country for the Aggie, and track for the Tech. We are the best friend as could be, and Sabrina even calls us the Three Musketeers. They don't mind my being headless, and when I'm down about my condition, even help to convince me the benefits of being headless, and, secretly, I think that Pierce wants to be headless himself.

Style: Me and my friends very rarely wear pants. Me being an anthro fox and them being taurs, it is kinda difficult and even uncomfortable to wear them. That isn't to say I don't wear pants. Living in New England, it can get really cold in the winter. Not to mention that I love a good hike, of which I need the pants to conserve body heat and keep out the Mosquitos. When I'm just around town or in school and not at a competition, be it SkillsUSA or a track meet, I don't generally wear pants.

Thoughts: Being headless has been one of the best things to happen to me. I get a lot of respect, I have enhanced senses, and I have two friends and a godmother who will stick by me no matter what happens. I know that the future is bright for me, and with Sabrina doing research on my condition, I may just know how this all happened. Not to mention that she is actually working on a device to replicate my condition. Well this is goodbye from Ariana and I will see you in a later story.
