The Secret War- Part One

Story by Kiyro on SoFurry

A series I've been thinking about doing. Heavily dependent on a species on a game named "Runescape". Do not worry, the story is easily followed as explanations (sometimes not even needed) are included as part of the storyline.

Point is, more to come.

Note:

I've been away for a while. I thank those who "watched" me, and who want more of my stories.

"So you're telling me, that the portal has been severed from Gielinor, for nearly 50 years?" Zahel asked while he walked with The Archon.

"Yes. Last communication I got from our brethren, stated that there was an attack, and that the already unstable portal, was now even more unpredictable." He responded as they casually walked through Time Square in New York.

"What exactly is out purpose here, Archon Libra?" Zahel asked nervously. "If the gate does not work...we are stranded here. I wish to know our situation didn't result in this for without a reason.

"Then you may not like the answer. The great gateway, portal, device, whatever you wish to call it, has thrown us on the wrong path." Libra responded.

"Path?" Zahel asked as they stopped in the front way of a pizza shop.

"Yes. You see, the portal's purpose was to send us back in time, to just before the second age. That way we could change our lord's fate, as well as the fate of all Zarosians. However, complications occurred."

"Complications?"

"Yes. We used knowledge of teleportation spells, from all known areas of our magick as well as other space altering magicks to create the portal. Issue is, time isn't just that simple. Time is many planes of existence, like this one we are stuck on AND it's periods of history within those planes. Mistakenly, we managed to tap into the plane that Guthix used to bring the first humans to Gielinor."

They momentarily looked over to see a group of women, who seemed to be looking at them since they came to a stop. They noticed they talked on phones, or tried to look like they were tourists of some sort. But Libra and Zahel both could see they were doing horrible jobs at hiding the fact they were spying on them.

"Yes, well, continuing. When Guthix brought those humans to Gielinor, it was the "Medieval" times. A point in history on this plane. Since then, they've discovered and invented more and became...well this." Libra said as he gestured to the city in general.

"So. We've traveled FORWARD in this plane's time in history...instead of backwards in GIELINOR'S history? How did that happen?" Zahel asked while looking back to see the group of women were no longer where they once were.

"Unforeseen circumstances." The Archon replied, following Zahel's gaze to the area the women were in.

"So how are we-"

Zahel was cut off by a sudden explosion of asphalt and water, directly beside them. The street just suddenly became a flowing torrent of water as what appeared to be a water pipe broke with massive force.

"Harpies!" Libra hissed. "How DARE you."

He grabbed Zahel and dove into the pizza shop, just as a sphere of water shot out from the raging wall of water that was shooting up. The sphere shot out from the Colum of water, hovered for a second, shot forward, and then directly impacted the door just after Libra managed to close it.

Glass and metal debris showered both of the forgotten warriors as they laid there. A split second later, their instincts kicked in and they rolled to the side, each opposite one another as another water sphere crashed on the floor where they were.

"It's just water!" Yelled Zahel over the noise the massive water column was creating. "Sure...we'd get wet, but nothing bad about that!"

"No. Water infused with magic! Classic medium level water missile! It hits, it explodes." Libra shouted back as he pulled out a 9 mm pistol with a suppressor attached.

Zahel copied Libra's actions and took up position behind a dining booth, taking out is own suppressed pistol. Both looked at one another from across the shop, before looking over the tops of the booths, pistols at the ready.

The water raged. The noise continued, and they held their ground, pistols pointed at the demolished door.

But nothing came.

"See brother. We are not alone here." The Archon hissed as he concealed his weapon and casually walked to Zahel. "Others are here as well."

"So. May I ask how others came here? I was under the impression we were the only ones with access to that sort of portal." Zahel asked as he reclined in an expensive chair and looked at what the humans called 'television'. "And how did you come across all this wealth?"

"I do not know how the enemy arrived here as well. Perhaps the attack that the last communication mentioned, allowed some to go through the portal. Nonetheless, I know nothing about them. I do not know if they are Saradominist Zealots, or Zamorakian Assassins. Perhaps both." Libra replied, sitting down across from Zahel. "As for the wealth. Well. Humans from this plane have never seen the metal 'Runite' from Gielinor...and having extra senses...helps with gambling."

"Ah." Is all Zahel replied, looking around the expensive penthouse.

"So, what's the plan? Before we were attacked, I wanted to ask...how do we get home? Or...how do we...do something. They sent you didn't they? As some sort of an 'elite' warrior?"

"That was before the damn gateway sent me to another plane of existence, into a time very different from our own." Libra replied firmly. "We are needed. "Forgotten" or not, we are still fighting on Gielinor. We are wasting ourselves stuck here in this pathetic plane, while our brothers bleed."

Silence filled the living room for some time. Zahel tried to think of some way to get back home. But nothing came to mind. Besides. How does one, find an "exit" hole from a time portal? If such a thing existed.

That's it! If we can find some sort of "exit" hole, we could follow it back! Zahel thought.

"Archon! What if we found your exit hole? Where you dropped into this plane? In theory, couldn't we just follow it ba-"

"Tried it."

"What?" Zahel shot back after being interrupted. "WHAT?"

"Tried that." Libra said while tossing him a palm sized disk of pure crystal. "Even communication is down. Thing is useless."

"Why give to me?" Zahel said while studying the device.

"Though useless for what we want it to do, we can still use it to communicate while we are here, in the city. I see you've been here for a little while. You have adapted well. Human weaponry and such." Libra said while gesturing to Zahel's pistol.

"Yes. Met some allies. They pointed me in your direction. That's how I was able to find you in such a massive sprawl of a city."

Libra thought for a second. Then his eyes went wide.

Damned Harpies!

"Zahel!" Libra called as he leapt up. "Those who provided you with a weapon and told you information! Who were they?"

Zahel was momentarily stunned by the Archon's outburst and just sat there dumbfounded. "I do no recall, Archon. It was some time ago, aft-"

"Male or female?!" Libra interrupted.

Zahel shook his head, and shrugged. "Why is it so important?"

"Jasmine is why it's so important."

"Who's Jasmine?"

"The lead Zealot who I know for a fact was dealt to dispatch me on Gielinor. Since my arrival...I've had multiple attempts on my life. I believe she and a group came here somehow." Libra replied.
