Chapter 1
Is life cool with me?

Skies gloomed with red sunset light over the river of Columbus. The Ohio climate was beggining to change like it would every few months and fall was coming soon. The hot late August heat was begging to cool and more people was beggining to come out of thier homes to enjoy the pleasing coolness. Tall buildings shimmer with the red and yellow from the reflective crystal windows of down town and rush hour filled the street with the low humming noises of engines and blaring horns. Soon within an hour the sky became dark and the streets were quiet but still busy with 3rd shift workers.
Not far fron the over whelming buildings in one alley by the corner High St within the OSU campus in the Short North an unusaul gathering happened, as the crowd grew chattering could be heard but low enough to be somewhat unoticable. Soon a figured walked on top of a large dumpster and got the crowds attention and another figure opened a large metal door on the floor. The crowd entered the doors slowly and quietly. Within a short 5 minutes the alley was empty again and the doors closed silently and locked.
As the crowed walk their way underground trance music can be heard. Soon the crowd emerged into a colossal room with dancing lasers and trance loud pulsing beats of dance. Varity of color lasers and lights to suit anyones mood to dance with the overwhelming music. Then the music slowly died away and the lights turned on. Revealing everyones faces.
Anthros of all kinds cheered and hollard filling the room with more noise than the music before. Anthro birds enjoyed the veiw of the strobe light towers, as everyone awaits The same figure that was on the dumpster appeared on stage. A wolf anthro looked at the crowd as he held onto a mic in his right hand. Baby blue fur and brown eyes that glittered within the blinding bright lights, his tallness shows that hes a man but his body shape give you a hint that this character is a perfect friend.
" Alright, Alright! Who is having fun and who is not?" said the young wolf, and the crowd exploded with voices of enjoyment, " Thats what I wanna hear" He said as he cupped his ears to hear the crowd better, " We are gonna party all night long till the sun comes up and comes up again after tommorrow!!!" This made the crowd boom louder with voices, cheering and screaming was heard all over. The the young wolf tured to the athro panther who was the DJ there. " DJ," the young wolf pointed at the DJ " Your wish is my command! " Replied the DJ " Drop it like its hot." said the young wolf and walked away with a grin.
" Yes master wolf ! " Soon the room was booming with music again with a roaring crowd.
As the young wolf walked into the back stage a anthro younger fox came up to him with a pen and paper " Hey! Yo! This is important! " "Shan bro whats up?! "replied the young wolf. " We found someone lying in the streets, he looks like he was messed up by some thugs."
" Experiment? Or human? " " Oh um Experiment man. We know the drill for humans." said the younger fox " Ok, humans hospital experiment here. Got it?" Said the wolf. " Yeah man i know I'm cool yah know that ok see ya man i have some stuff to do. " And the fox took off.
As the wolfl was making his way to the room were the injured victim was, a girl stopped him in his tracks in surprise. " Who? Hey Catherin!" He said it with delightful eyes. The cat girl had mostly human features with cat ears and a cat tail. Beautiful has itself on the face and sexxy around every curve than will make any man wonder. Catherin has a huge crush for the young wolf kid for saving her life from the police. " Can you come to my place tonight." She said while rubbing her tail around the wolf kid's left leg while massaging his neck " This time I'm not gonna cheat." The young wolf sighed in a deep breath. " No not today. We just found another one on the streets badly hurt." Catherin backed up. " Ok I see, i'll see what I can do ok, I'll not stop you from helping others, but stop by when yur done." Said catherin with a wink. The young wolf smiled as he was pleased by Catherin's ability to understand situations. " Thank you and I will, promise." and the young wolf walked off.
The wolf enetered into a larger room, a bit smaller than the party room. The room was built into a living quarters, old subway trains from New York were stacked ontop of another held buy beams perfectly arrayed into apartment like buildings. And street lights give it a perfect setting like you were outside. The wolf entered one of the trains with a red cross, in there a Lion anthro looked at the younger wolf. Taller than the wolf his upper body muscles shows through his t-shirt and his large dark brown mane shows power and dominace, but he is a docter for any patient sickness or injury that happened there. " Good you came, looks like the patient is doing excerllent." Said the lion wiping his hands on a towel. " Thats good, Mack whats the patients condition?" Asked the young wolf, Mack puts on his glasses "Beaten up but minor bruises show, I belive he fell from a brutal punch to the face and the suspects left him when he was out cold. Kevin manage to find him before the cops came." " Good. Looks like he will make it through the night. Okay tonight is off for you. Don't wantcha to miss the big party." The wolf said the a smile. " Wouldn't want to miss it for the world! Except my mate shes probably waiting at the lounge there." Mack said and grinned and the wolf chuckled. " Alright man I got it from here. If I need anything I'll give you a ring." " Alright." Mack left quickly to join the party. The wolf went into the room were the patient and found him laying in bed. He removed the blanket from the partially covered face " Whoa. " the wolf said in a low but amused voice. It was another wolf silver buish gray fur with a pure white underbelly and a built chest and a six pack slightly showing. " No way, this guy is like big, and he let a couple of guys mess him up like this?? " the wolf said to himself. " I've brought soup." The wolf turned around and found Catherin with a tray and a hot bowl of her special stew. " Thank you, just put it by that table. " ' Catherin layed the tray on the table. " Okay I'll see you tommorrow. I stayed up late too much yesterday sorry wolfie." Catherin said sheepishly. " Its all good anyways I'm gonna stay with the patient to see his he need help when he awakes. " " Uh... Ok, hope that guy does fine. Good night" " Good night kitty."
It was 2 in the morning, the wolf waited to bordom and pulled out his cell and played the games on it, around 5 am the young wolf was dead asleep on the waiting chairs.
Morning came and the streets of the campus became busy with life. Students of all race overwelmed the the college grounds, traffic became a menece. Underground, car engins and loud booming music from the cars can be heard too. The half injured wolf woke up holding his head from the throbbing pain of his last night abuse. He looked around quickly finding another wolf asleep in the same room. Slowly he crept out of bed and tried to open the door but it was locked, then he tried the back door and it was locked aswell. Soon the young wolf awakened, as he yawn from his sleep the other wolf looked around to see where he can hide.
The young wolf looked at the patients bed and founded it empty. He looked around and found no windows broken and the doors where still locked. As the young wolf looked in the cabnets quickly where most fighten patients hide, he found no sign of the older wolf. Then he looked up and a shadow figure jumped on him. The young wolf tried to yell but the other wolf closed his mouth shut, and slamed him into the wall shushing the young wolf. "Promise you won't scream if I let you go?? " The young wolf nodded. " Good." the young wolf muzzle was released by the other wolfs hand, " That wasn't really called for, Okay who are you?"
" My name is... Jerod... but I prefer to be called Jack... " the young wolf nodded... " Well its not like yur alone in this world. How did you became like this." the wolf said curiously. " I dunno... I was attacked by men in suits then... this.... I manage to escape. I don't know how I became this. how?."
" Goveremnt research. those bastards will kiddnapp kids at any age and use them for thier experiments. its a project they are working on. A project that'll "reduce" thier weapons of mass destruction by making biological beasts of war."
" How did ya..."
" Know?" The younger wolf cut in, " Easy hacking into the goverment files... Sealed well and away, but it was still too easy."
" The goverment? Can we do anything??" The younger wolf sighed, " Nope, goverment lies too much to cover thier asses, We need evidence about the size of Ohio to stop this but its still not enough to completely stop him. The only thing we can do for now is hide till we do build enough evidence."
" What about us... you... I know theres more of people like you in this place!!! I don't wanna stay like this forever!!! Lets show our faces and tell the world now! "
" We tried! But like again they lied, saying we came from foreign countries, we are creatures of unknown origin. We can't do nothing now, all we can do is wait. Besides being like this isn't that bad. It has its downs but you like the new form you are. Trust me." The young wolf said with a smile.
" But I can't be..."
" Calm down. All we can do is wait. Take time to get use to who you are."
"This is a big mistake I can't wait!!!" yelled the older wolf. " And if they catch you they'll send you back from the lab they made you look like this and mutate you into a beast of death and destruction." Both glared into each others eyes as silence took over the room.
The older wolf sighed to himself and sat down on the patient seats... " Is there a way?. "
" No, " said the young wolf as he shook his head then picking up the bowl of soup, " no alternative yet man, but we are trying to find one the best we could. Here's some soup its cold its been here since last night, but i bet you must be hungry" The older took and held the bowl in his hands.
" Thanks, looks like I can only pray for something good." said the older wolf looking into his reflection on the soup.
" We all can use god's help right now, but we will rise one day to stop this insanity. I'm telling you I won't mind saying some nasty shit to the goverment himself in the face" Both wolves looked at each other and laughed a little bit.
" So what yur name?" " me?... um Abdel my nickname is Silverlonewolf, I got it cause I love silver jewlery than gold and I'm a wolf. " the younger wolf said it with a light smile.
" Thats nice and where am I??" " Your in a safe place under the Ohio campus. Most of us "mutants" live here. 7 Large rooms two for sleeping and living, 4 more rooms for activities, and one more will become another living place. This place is runned by a friend of mine and he's a billioniar, nice huh?"
" I guess... its not a jail cell or anything???"
" Nah man, this place is free, like I said it runned by my friend who is a billionair.
" Yeah I heard, you like repeating yurself huh? "
" Well its my way of communication. "
' Don't blam ya since no one wants to hear us freaks... Now that I'm like this its gonna be like those movies, were mutants call people, humans and humans call us mutants." Said Jack sipping the soup.
" I guess you can say that, as long as we keep ourselves in the low were fine."
Suddenly the door clicked and unlocked and Mack walked in seeing the two wolves sitting next to each other. Mack smiles and chuckled a bit. " Abdel I see you made a friend"
" Yeah Jack this is Mack the doctor around here Mack, Jack... weird ya guys names rhyme... thats a scary thought, Heh."
" Thats cool nice ta meet ya." Jack extended his large paw like hands, the wolf greeted the lion back with his paw." Nice to meet you too. "
" Mack, I'm gonna give our new resident a tour around here I'll meet you here later after finding a place for him. It won't be long."
" Okay, anyways some guys beinge drinking last night and are now fucked up in the party studio. "
" How? I thought the doors were locked they can't get drunk unless they purchase beer or liquor outside."
" Yeah but they know the combination called a cable cutter. They broke the lock. But I manage to get a new one only these bigger ones, difficult to cut through." Mark tosses Abdel the new lock.
" Stupid mother fuckers! The next time something happens like this I'm locking thier asses out. Fuck this! They get caught they get caught. Wait here Jack while I put this new lock on so no one can enter. " Abdel leaves mumbling cuss words to himself.
" Don't worry Abdel grew up in group homes with foul language, cussing is part of his vocab... it may sound dumb but this kid is more mature than most people here and intelligent in all his classes and does pertty well in school here."
" Its fine. Its not like I was expecting politeness out of him." The wolf looked at the lion in the eyes, " Your a doctor??"
" Yep... *sigh* Been tring to har to become one."
" What brought you here? "
Mark looked back at the wolf and took off his glasses, " I use to work in West Carmel Hospital, I was just a student there, till one day I was coming home from work and everything blacked out, then I woke up in a truck trailer and manage to break and runaway and couldn't believe what they did to me. I barely escape with a bullet wound. Then I met another mutant as I was hiding in a barn somewhere not too far from here and he told me about this place and here I am, helping the sick and the wounded." The lion started washing his hands when he turned away from the wolf.
" Wow thats really sad. Any kids now?" the wolf asked curiously.
" No, it was only my girlfriend, boo and me. I tried going back to her like this and she turned away from me. She thought I did this on purpose and I tried explaining, But I got the door as a good bye and i'm calling the police kind of attitude."
" Wow. What now?"
" Right now I'm trying to start all over here. My job, my life, my mind. I have a new girlfriend who understands me and she's my kitty boo. Being like this is not that bad, especially when you focus on stuff you want to do in the future and leave yur past behine ya. If ya don't it'll slow you down alot, you have to learn from it, not hold it." Said Mark as he puts his glasses back on.
" I getcha. Okay I'll try to put myself together, I still in a nervous break down."
" Thats a good start, took me awhile to relize that, When I did it was almost too late." Mark look thourghly in the cabnets to make sure he has what he might need in his office." Was about to pull the trigger on my head, then I took a look around and told myself I was much stronger than that. And I worked my way up from there."
" Headstrong huh?"
" You can say that. You have to be more that headstrong, I pulled my head out of my ass and found that I'm needed by people like me. I can't let these kids get sick, so I'm there for them. Okay I'm gonna do a basic check up on you, so I can assure you are not hurt in anyway.Any discomfort or pain let me know right now."
" I feel fine now. I don't think I need one."
" Okay, but still, Now aay ahh..." Said Mack as as puts a toungue depressor close to the wolfs face.
"This is not gonna hurt?" The lion shook his head " Okay, ahhhh.... *GACK!* That hurts! you said it wouldn't"
" Not to me." the lion said with a smile and chuckled. Your different from human so it will hurt...

Mean while.
Abdel locked the door with the new lock Mark gave him and walked back down stairs, before that he checked the studio and found out the drunken anthros left the area." Make note to self, do not punch drunk people if you know its them." said Abdel trying to cheer himself up. Abdel started checking the studio again for the drunken fools who could've endangered everyone, The studio which formally turns into a hangout lounge at day, had a few anthros sitting by the snack bars and benches. Most anthros were exhausted from the party and were in thier rooms in the living quarters sleeping.
As Abdel came around the corner of the snack bar the fox, Shan was eating a hot dog there. " Hey! My trusty man, found any thing suspicous?"
" Nah man and I heard about the lock problem and found nothing else. I tried."
" Thats ok. Whaddya doing by yourself??"
" Dunno Just staying here being cool."
"Is it okay if I stay with you for a while?" Shan looked at Abdel with unique green eyes and smiled, " Sure!" the fox said in excitement. " So hows the party yesterday?" Asked the young wolf, " More wild than ever, that new DJ knows how to put the beats in the music." said the fox. " You mean DJ Skyline? Yeah he was awsome.Unlike the DJ J-ay He didn't put too much into the party, but he was good."
" I have to say he was, but still." The fox the fox stands up over Abdel " He was making everybody asleep." Abdel takes a pack of cigarette reds out of his pocket and put one in his mouth." I see what you're saying, okay I'll have him back playing tonight ok don't tell J-ay I said that." The young fox nodded. Abdel puts the pack back into his pocket and fetch out the lighter that was in the same pocket. After lighting the cigarette Abdel took a deep hit and exhale the stress and smoke that was within him. " Never start on one of these, not only these hurt you but yur body will want them as if it was food. Got it?" " Yeah man I'm cool about that stuff, promise I won't smoke." Abdel made a fist and puts it in the air" That what I want to hear." The fox fisted back and both hands hit lightly as a frienship of promise.
"Abdel, will you come to tonights party??"
" Yeah, I have somebody taking over for me."
" Cool! Will you party with me???"
" Will you bother my girl?" Abdel said with a raised eye brow.
" Nope." The Fox said with a smile.
" Cool then I guess you can hang out with me and my girl." The fox yipped by these word.
" Whoa! No need for the alarm. Ok Go get ready for the party." The young wolf said pointing away.
" Ok I will !" And the fox took off with a smile on his face."
Abdel looked at the fox relizing Shan looks so much younger than his age. The 16 year old fox loves hanging with people older than him. He loves to hang with Abdel and Mark cause the two were incharge of the place and they were talented. The fox was talented in break dancing but didn't have the courage to be in the crowd and the all the moves he needed. The fox was a natural at getting girls attention both anthros and humans alike just by a slight stare. This Made Abdel sigh that he wish he was the fox, do to his past of crimes he commited as a human. Wishing he was the fox's age and he could just resart things back to the way they were.
Abdel went to his living quarters, The dark blue carpet felt good on his paws and and the large bed there was a great sight to tired eyes from sleeping on hard chairs. He looked at his alarm clock and it was 10:27am, " Enough time to sleep." He thought to himself. As he walked to the bed he looked on the floor by the right side of his bed and bend to his knees pulling a plywood from the floor. He took out an old sword from the small space and held the handle firmly as he pulled the sword from the sheath revealing a old Katana. Abdel remebered when his grand father given it to him a year before his grandfathers death. He lovd the sword not to to the fact its old, Abdel wanted it cause it means alot to him, He loved his grand father more than his father suprisingly. Abdel puts the sword away in the small secret storage as he was preparing to sleep. Soon his eyes got heavy then his vision blacked out...
