Blood of a hero

A young human male sighed, as he flicked his cigarette out in an ash tray. He looked up with red feline like eyes.

The female agent watched the male through her thick frame glasses and pulled out a tape recorder. She cleared her throat as she pulled out a note pad and pen.

"So, Raz is it?" She asks.

"Yeah, that's the name they gave me." He answered calmly.

She nods and begins to write down his name, weight, height etc... She looks back up as Raz picks up the glass of water from to his side. His hands are cuffed to the table with limited reaching space.

"Will you tell me what happened during the years of 2009 and 2014?" after a minute of thinking, she asks.

Raz chuckled; He set the cup down as he looked to the female. He took a deep breath in and exhaled slowly. The heat from his breath causing the air to mist and bend around his lip.

"Tell me, are you sure you're ready to hear this? You don't seem like the type to handle such truth." He said with a smile. His canine teeth elongated and sharp to the point.

"Raz, I have dealt with things that are even top secret to the president of the United States." She said sternly.

"Well this isn't America, This is Canada. We are a free country are we not?" he smirked.

"Raz, I don't care that this is a free country because you're not from here. You're not from this world! Now tell me what happened in those years?!" She said as she slammed her fist onto the table.

Raz only smiled as he picked up another cigarette that he was given from the other agent. He looked to the smoke in his hand and smiled as he let out a quick breath and a small blue jet of fire quickly lit the smoke. The agent blinked as she saw this.

"Alright. I will tell you what happened. The truth, from the beginning to the end. It was January first, New Year's was over, me and my friends were having a blast. The party had just died down....."

Raz groaned as he rubbed his head from his hang over. He grabbed his demi jean jacket from the park bench that he had passed out on. He stood up as the morning air was cool to his face and helped with his hang over. He took a deep breath in and exhaled slowly.

He started to walk through the park towards the city, as he came to a crosswalk he stopped and looked both ways, it was his last year in college, and he was living it up with parties, women and drugs. He smiled to himself as he crossed the street and walked up the flight of steel stairs. He punched in a few numbers into the key pad of the automated ticket booth, put in a few quarters and the ticket was printed out. He grabbed it and waited for the sky train to arrive, as he sat on the uncomfortable, cold steel bench, he recalled last night. The party was booming and the bon fire was reaching to at least fifteen feet. He was drinking having a great time, smoking a joint here and there.

He smiled to himself as he heard the train coming. He pulled out his cell phone and a piece of paper with a number on it. He smiled as the note read: Hey handsome, it's about time you finally talked to me after the whole ordeal, now Look I know we have been friends since we were kids. Now we are in college and I was hoping we could go out for a date. Give me a call. 604-786-3475, Fey.

A smile grew over his lips as it was his high school sweetheart Fey. She was the head cheerleader during high school, but when college came around, Rumors were spread and Raz left her because of them.

The train screeched to a stop, the rails over head of it groaned at the slow stop. Raz winced cause he hated that sound; he got up and walked into the nearly empty car. He sat down on one of the empty seats and groaned from his headache. He looked up to see a large man sleeping on a bench in the train, while he looked out of the train window and watched as the city slowly sped by.

Raz suddenly jerked awake feeling someone grab and shake him violently. He looked up to see the large male yelling something to him.

"I said give me your wallet!! I'll fucking slit your throat man!!!" The male shouted, and in his hand was a switch blade.

Raz suddenly panicked as he pushed him away. He kicked his feet as he tried to get away. The male quickly pushed his forearm to his throat.

"Don't make me fucking kill you boy! Now give me your wallet!" He shouted once again.

Raz coughed as he reached for his back pocket and held out his wallet. The man opened it and blinked as he looked back to him. Tossing the empty wallet to the floor.

"Fucking nothing in there! What else you got!" He shouted shaking the knife at Raz's cheek.

"Th-That's it man!!! I got n-nothing else...*cough*..." Raz said panicked.

The male let him go as the train came to a stop and he ran out the sliding doors and disappeared down the stair case.

Raz coughed and gasped for air while holding his throat, he looked up and grabbed his wallet and only smiled as he opened a secret compartment in it, revealing at least four hundred dollars of twenty dollar bills, and tens. The train began to move once again and he jumped up into the seat.

About twenty minutes had passed since he had gotten on the train. He woke up once again as the train was stopping. He got up and rubbed his eyes with a sigh; he walked off the train and went down the stairs. He nodded to a bum who was warming up by a fire in an old oil barrel. Raz smiled handing him a pack of smokes.

"Ehh! Thanks Raz!" The man said with a yellow smile.

Raz only chuckled and nodded as he kept walking, Handing a sandwich to an elderly woman wrapping up in some old jackets, also by the fire. He soon came to an old beat up apartment building, pulled out his keys to open the front door, walking inside he nodded to an elderly man who was sitting by the door with a small personal T.V.

"Raz? Where were you last night? Your father was cursing all night trying to figure out where you were? He got drunk again, still is I think." The old man said.

"Shit, really pops? This is gunna be a long day." Raz said with a groan.

"Watch your mouth young man! I may be old, but I can still kick your ass." Pops said with an old dry air laugh.

Raz just chuckled as he patted the old man's shoulder, walking up stairs to only hear a door slam.

"And just where the fuck were you last night, you piece of shit?!" A man shouted with a slur. He swayed while standing, the man was standing at five feet eleven inches.

"I was out." He said as he walked past his father.

"Don't you fucking walk away from me you ungrateful worm." He shouted grabbing his son, as he pushed him into the wall.

Raz panted as he held onto his father's shirt staring at the man's drunken eyes. His father filled with rage as he had his son pinned to the wall with his fore arm to his throat.

"You're the fucking reason why your mother died! You fucking hear me! It's your fault why she was taken away from me! And all you have to say is "I was out"!!!! Bullshit boy! You fucking disappear on me, take my fucking money and spend it on your fucking piece of shit friends!!" He shouted; spit flying into Raz's face.

Raz just smirked as he pulled his father's arm down.

"You fucking idiot, I am the one paying the fucking bills here. You're fucking booze money. Mother died because you were fucking drinking while you were driving. You fucking hit a god damn van with a mother and her two kids in it. You killed four people that night! Including my mother, who fucking took care of you! Kept you in her good graces and you fucking treat me like this!!!" Raz shouted back.

The man's eyes burned with rage as he suddenly punched his son in the gut. Making Raz grunt, as his lungs became empty of air and his vision blurred, he fell to the floor on his knees, holding his stomach. He coughed and gasped, slowly falling to his side from the lack of oxygen to his lungs.

"Hey! Leave him alone you loser!" The old man shouted waving his cane.

"Shut up old man this doesn't concern you!" his father shouted.

"It does concern me. You're under my god damn roof. I can call the cops and have you put away for a long time. That boy takes care of you and you don't deserve it!" the old man said sternly as he could.

The man just stared at him; he cursed and waved off the old man, walking into the apartment, slamming the door. The old man climbed up the stairs kneeling down beside Raz, placing a shaky hand on the boy's back.

"Thanks pops, but I can handle my dad." Raz said slowly catching his breath.

"Raz, you got to stop this punishment. Your mother's death wasn't your fault. Just kick him out and live your life." Pops said with a sigh as he helped him up.

Raz groaned as he suddenly felt sick, his stomach having tightened up more from standing. He urked as he ran to an old ash tray can and threw up whatever he had in his stomach into the can.

"Fuck, I'm sorry Pops..."Raz said.

"Don't worry about it kid. I didn't like that one anyways." Pops chuckled.

Raz stumbled into his apartment, telling Pops to never mind and go back to his T.V. Raz walked through the hallway of his apartment and straight to his room. His father sitting on the couch watching a boxing match with a bottle of whiskey at his side.

Raz took his coat and hoodie off, tossing them to his desk chair and he plopped onto his bed. After he locked his door of course, making sure each of the three pad locks was secure. He sighed as he thanked to the gods that it was summer break and he had three months to party, rest and get ready for the last year.

Fey let out a sigh as she stepped out of the shower. Her blonde hair sticking to her back, she wiped the steam from the mirror and smiled to herself. She looked over her slim, yet curvy body, her breasts only a B cup but she was wanted by men. Being a bar tender and making tips for some dances, she only wanted to make something of herself through college.

She bit her bottom lip as she struck herself into a pose, her hips out, her back slightly twisted and she licked her lips. She giggled and walked out of the bathroom, her girlfriend Amanda smiled.

"Whooee! Girl, you're becoming sexier and sexier by the day. Fucking too bad you're not a les, otherwise I would have been all over you!" Amanda giggled.

Fey giggled and shook her head; she went into her room and closed the door. She grabbed her brush and began to brush her wet hair, Smoothing it out, she then grabbed her house robe and tied it up at the waist. She picked up her cellphone and grumbled.

"Damn it Raz, why haven't you called yet?' She said to herself.

Fey went downstairs to eat her breakfast, four girls eating, giggling and bragging about the boys and girls they had slept with.

A young boy sighed as he sat on the street eating old sand which from a trash can. His clothes tattered and dirty from living on the street. He looked down the street staring at the other people, he only sighed as he took another disgusting bite of the sand which.

He suddenly blinked as a man kicked him in the ribs.

"Hey! That's my sandwich you little shit!" the man grunted.

The boy blinked as he looked at the sandwich then to the man. He handed it over and the man snatched it from him and wolfed it down walking away. The boy sighed as his stomach growled for more, he rubbed his stomach.

He got up and walked down the street to find something else to eat. He came to a corner and found a trash can with an old pizza box. He gasped and looked behind him making sure no one saw it. He walked to it grabbed it up and climbed up a fire escape. He opened the box to reveal at least a two day old half eaten pizza.

He smiled and began to eat quickly as he didn't want to starve to death; he gobbled it up and moaned from the full taste of tomato sauce, cheese and pepperoni. The crust still crunchy and he smiled to himself as he finished the pizza. He threw the box into a dumpster and was about to climb down.

"Hey, where you going?" A little girl said with a smile.

"Uhh, home." The boy said.

"I maybe six years old, but I am not stupid. Your homeless and you need a home. Plus, I think you would like something to drink with that pizza. I got some soda in the fridge, I am sure my mom won't mind." The girl said with a giggle.

The boy's eyes widened as he heard of the sugary drink, his mouth watered and he looked down and then back up. He climbed back up and walked to the window.

"My name is Angel. What's yours" Angel asked.

"Taboo." The boy said.

"Taboo?! What kind of name is that?" she asked.

"I saw it on a building wall. I never really had a name. I was born on the streets." he said with a shrug.

"Wow, how old are you?" she asked.

"Ten." he answered.

Angel smiled and moved out of the way to let Taboo in. Once he was in, he only gasped as he stopped staring at a women dressed in military clothing.

"Mom! I thought you left!" Angel said with a gasp.

"I thought I would come and say see you later. But umm, who's your friend?" Angel's mother asks.

"His name is Taboo, he is only ten and he lives on the street. I thought it would be okay if he could stay with us..."Angel said nervously.

Taboo stood there as he too was nervous and shaking as he stood there, staring at his new friends mother. She was a military soldier and Taboo knew of the military, he gulped hard.

Raz groaned as he got up, looking to the digital alarm clock reading it at 2:12pm. He sighed as he looked to his door, banging was heard and he sighed.

"Open up you fucking loser!!!!" His father shouted from behind the door.

Raz sighed as he opened his window and sneaking out of it. Sure it was his apartment, and he should have a say in everything. But to his father, it wasn't enough. Raz climbed down the fire escape and he sighed as he put his hoodie and demi jean jacket on and walked to the sky train. He smirked and pulled out his phone and dialed up Fey.

Fey laughed as her friend Amanda squirted milk from her nose. Jessie having told a joke that made everyone laugh. The milk just added to it, Fey giggled as she grabbed her buzzing phone and she blinked as he calmed down.

"Holy shit! He called!" Fey squealed.

"Holy shit indeed. Answer girl, but put him on the speaker." Karli said.

Fey smiled and did so, answering the phone on speaker.

"Hello?" Raz said.

"Hey Raz, what's up?" Fey said calmly as possible.

"Not much, I was just heading down town. I thought maybe we could grab a bite to eat?" Raz shouted over the sky train as it came to a stop.

"I don't know Raz. This sounds more like a friendly date to me?" Fey said sounding a bit irritated.

"I know, but I kinda need someone to talk to. Your friends don't need to hear me on speaker right now." Raz said as he boarded the train.

The girls all blinked in surprise as Fey looked up. She looked back down and took the speaker off and held the ear piece to her ear.

"How did you know you were on speaker?" Fey asked.

Her friends tried their best to listen in but weren't as good with it.

"I could hear them giggling in the back ground. Now meet me at the park, I will get us a couple of sandwiches while we talk. Be there in an hour." Raz hung up.

Fey blinked as she looked to her phone then to her friends. She looked to the clock and sighed as she got up, she grabbed her clothes and got dressed quickly, wearing a demi skirt and a tight halter top. As she was heading out she grabbed her scooter keys and hopped onto her blue scooter and smiled as she was excited to finally have Raz back her life.

A man sighed looking through his telescope, star charts and a note pad to the side. The man licked his lips as he jotted down notes, his eyes scanned the skies during day light but he had modified his scope to filter out the UV rays and other rays from the sun.

He blinked seeing a star that was brighter than usual; it twinkled and seemed to be as if a black hole had sucked up space dust. But he looked closer and gasped. It was a comet, or asteroid headed straight towards the city. He jumped from his seat and grabbed his phone dialing up a number.

"Hello? yes, I am calling on a sighting of a comet or an asteroid that is heading straight for my home town!!" The man shouted into the phone.

"A comet wouldn't make it far into our atmosphere and an asteroid is a hunk of rock sir. But what is its location?" A female voice asked calmly.

"South west from the north star." The man said as he walked back to his scope and looked through it.

"Alright we have it on our......Oh my god..." the female said.

"What?! What is it?!" The man asked.

"Sir, I am gunna have to let you go." She said hanging up.

A young woman that looks to be in her twenties was running down the hall. She panted and gasped as she turned a corner and bumped into a man.

"Oof! Sorry sir! But we got it!" She shouted saluting her superior.

"You found it?!" general Hackman said snatching the papers from her.

He looked over the papers and took off in a power walk; he grabbed the solider by her arm and walked with her. They came to a large room that was at least as big as a large arena; it was split up by four shatter proof glass walls.

"Professor! We found it." Hackman said holding up the paper with its location.

A man, who was writing on a chalkboard with quotations and mathematical problems, looked over his shoulder and blinked as he dropped the chalk and walked over. He too snatched the papers from Hackman.

"You're kidding!?" He said.

Raz sat on a bench, looking up to the sky. Noticing a star off to the left of the sun, he blinked as he stared at it and then jumped feeling hands grab him from behind. He looked over to see Fey giggling.

"Hey Raz, what's up? Why did you want to talk to me?" Fey asked.

"Oh, well first of all. I wanted to spend time with you and also to talk to you. Come on, let's walk." Raz said holding out his hand.

Fey smiled as she took his hand and they walked down the path, she felt her heart skip a beat. She held onto his arm and resting her head on his shoulder, she sighed contently.

"So, what is it you wanted to talk to me about?" Fey asked.

"Well two things really. One is that I am glad we are talking again; two is that I love you with all my heart. But I have to tell you that I think we should take things slow this time around." Raz said with a sigh.

Fey blinked as she looked up to him.

"What do you mean?" She asked.

"Well, in high school we were just ready to jump into each other's pants when we got a chance." Raz said.

"Oh, well I know that. I was thinking the same thing, I was afraid you were gunna say this won't work out. But yeah, we should." Fey sighed contently.

A sudden boom was heard; wind stirred up and gusted everywhere. Both Raz and Fey blinked looking up to see a bright blue light from a hoard of clouds. Fey gasped as she held onto Raz's arm, she stared at the blue light.

Raz blinked as he too stared but was snapped out of it hearing a scream. He looked over to see his niece Angel with a boy. He went wide eyed as he grabbed Fey and began to run, he yelled out but it seemed like time was slowing down. He felt pressure building up around him, but didn't care as he grabbed up Angel and the boy. He suddenly felt as if the air was dense and suddenly another loud boom was heard and he felt himself being lifted up and all four crashed into a bush. Raz stumbled as he walked away from the crater, Fey and the other too also looked as if something was drained from their bodies. Fey held onto Raz, Taboo was carrying Angel in his arms.

"What the fuck happened?" Fey asked.

"I got no fucking idea...but...I think something is wrong." Raz said weakly.

"Why do you say that?" Taboo asked.

"Because I feel like I am drained." Raz said as he suddenly stumbled to his knees and fell over, a strange blue crystal sticking out of his back.

September, 20, 2010. 4:00 am.

General Hackman walked through the duel swinging doors to a large window looking into a large room. In the middle were four beds; to the outside of those was large space. Aside from a kitchen like area to the corner, to the other side of that was a living room area complete with a T.V. and couch. Off to the back of the room, was a weight area, and someone was already using the weights.

Whoever it was, was in the middle of bench pressing a full five hundred and seventy-five pounds of weights. Suddenly large speakers built into the corners of the ceiling hummed to life.

"Raz, Fey, Taboo and Angel. Up and to the front." Hackman said through a mic.

Raz blinked as he set the weights up on the reinforced bar, the metal groaned with the stress of the weight. He sighed as he stood up, his body thicker, more toned, he walked over to the large mirror and he stared at his new body. Fey and the two joined him, staring at the one way mirror.

"Good morning Father." Fey said with a sigh.

"Good morning Father." Taboo and Angel said in sync.

Raz just stood there quietly, staring at the mirror.

"Morning children. Raz? Why do you seem so hostile?" Hackman asked.

Raz just stared and then walked off to the shower area, the glass being fogged for privacy of course. Hackman sighed as he watched Raz walk away.

"Well, how are my children doing? Any changes?" Hackman asked.

"Fine Father, and yes my ability has become stronger." Fey answered calmly.

"Mine too Father." Angel answered.

Taboo blinked as he looked to the two women and then back to the mirror.

"Taboo? What's wrong?" Hackman asked.

"Nothing Father. But Angel has a new power." Taboo said as he looked to Angel.

Angel blinked as she sighed and glared at Taboo. He took a step back, making some distance from his friend.

"Oh! Angel, is that true? May I see this new power?" Hackman asked excited.

"Yes, father." Angel answered nervously.

Angel took a deep breath and she stared right at the mirror, suddenly she started to lift up from the floor and float in the air. She giggled as she floated right there.

"My, that is a good sign. What about Raz?" Hackman asked.

"Well he does have a new power. But it's not what we expected." Fey said looking to the showers.

"What do you mean Fey?" Hackman asked also looking to the showers.

"Well, he can shape shift. So far just into one thing." Fey said as she stared at the blurred figure.

"Shape shift?!?" Hackman shouted.

Suddenly a groan was heard and then a scream of sheer pain, glass shattered and Raz bursted through holding his head.

"Duaaarrrrrrrrrroooaar!!!!!" Raz roared suddenly his eyes glowing red, his teeth elongated and became sharp to the point. His skin becoming hard, shiny black scales, his mouth elongating into a snout. His spine sprouts out into a large tail; he fell to his knees holding his head.

"My god! Professor! Come quick!" Hackman shouted into a walkie talkie.

"I can see it on my screen. My god, this is turning out to be more excellent then I expected." said the professor.

"Yes, he will be perfect for the mission!" Hackman said with a grin.

Raz then growled looking up; his eyes had turned red, with a hint of a glow, the slits of his pupils becoming feline like. He hissed baring his fang's, then stood up and roared out at the other three, as he charged at the mirror.

"Raz, stand down!!!" Hackman shouted.

Fey gasped as she jumped to the side, then she looked back and held out her hand. Raz stopping in mid-air and she threw him back into a wall, he grunted and fell to the ground and he hissed while standing back up. His red eyes glared at Fey, a booming roar was heard.

Taboo blinked as he then jumped in between both Fey and Raz, he smirked, a bit as he just stood there and stared at Raz.

"What are you doing?!" Fey and Angel yelled at the same time.

"Testing out my limits." Taboo said with a grin.

Raz growled; his claws scrapping across his chest. Not a mark on his scales, he smiled then suddenly leaped forward. He felt something grab him; he looked behind to see nothing. He blinked and looked to Taboo, who was smiling showing his pearly whites.

"What?" Hackman said watching.

Taboo suddenly pushed his hand out and Raz flew back into a wall, his wrists, ankles and waist all held by invisible force. Raz struggled with the so called binds; he hissed and roared but nothing budging. He panted as he was tired from the struggle and he stared at the floor his rage burning through his veins. He snarled and then looked up to one paw and he growled as he began to pull. Taboo blinked, he began to concentrate harder, while he walked closer.

"You can't struggle for too long Raz. My powers enable me to create anything I want, from cuffs to maybe a force field. Hell I could create a gun in my own image! But for you..." Taboo smiled as he then swung and an invisible sledge hammer hit at Raz's face.

Raz grunted from the hit but felt very little, he turned his head slowly looking at Taboo. A smile creped over Raz's face, he then began to inhale slowly then exhale. Soon his scales became pink and then a dark tan. His face turned back to normal his spine shrinking with in his back.

"Taboo, I gotta say. That power is wicked." Raz said with a chuckle.

Taboo smirked and let Raz down, as soon as his feet touched the ground, Raz aimed a punch at Taboo's gut making the boy grunt and fall over coughing.

"That! Was for hitting me with.....whatever it was you hit me with." Raz hissed.

Hackman and Professor Chase both looked to each other, not believing what they had just seen.

"Raz? Can you shift into anything else?" Chase asked.

"No, just that." Raz said as he then leaned on the mirror and smirked, he knew he was naked and didn't care anymore.

"That is an impressive power? Your scales, are they impenetrable? Your eyes, what vision do you see in? Your strength as well, does it double in that form?" Chase continuously asked.

"Whoa, doc, look I am new to this power like you. My vision is a basic heat vision, an infer red if you will. My scales are impenetrable, Taboo tried to slice, stab at me in that form. My strength, I am not sure haven't tried it yet." Raz answered.

Chase smiled as he looked to Hackman.

"He will be perfect for the mission." Chase said with a grin.

Raz blinked, tilting his head and he tapped the window.

"Mission? What mission?" Raz asked.

"Raz, please head to the door. Fey follow him and make sure he stays on his best behaviour." Hackman said.

Raz blinked as he looked to Fey, she in return shrugged as she followed. Raz went to a door that was clearly locked from the other side. The door opened and a couple of soldiers dressed in weird suits. Both Raz and Fey blinked as they walked out, one soldier tossed a pair of pants to Raz.

"Put those on! They stretch so they should be fine when you change." The soldier said.

Raz blinked as he did so and followed the soldiers to a pair of large metal doors, they opened them up and Raz walked into the large room. Both Fey and Raz blinked as they walked into the dark room. A large screen slowly lowered down, then a bright light omitted from one side of the room showing a picture of a large base.

"This is a base located in Nome, Alaska. We are under the assumption that it had been over taken by Russians. We need it back because it has the launch codes for thirteen nuclear missiles, and we don't want a World War three on our hands. Now Raz we need you to make a clear path into the front door. You think you will be able to do that?" Hack explained.

"Yes sir, I can." Raz said crossing his arms.

"What about me sir? And the kids?" Fey asked.

"You three will not be going. But we need you for your power here at base. You will connect with his mind as communications." Hackman said.

Fey sighed, nodding her head. She had no choice having it become something different from what happened seven months ago. Since they had become what they have become, they have no choice in any matter since Hackman made sure of it.

Raz stared at the picture of the base, and then a map showed up on the screen. He blinked as he stared at it for a while then he smirked.

"What weapons do I get? I don't just want to rely on my powers all the time. I am not sure of my limits yet sir." Raz said.

"You will get one weapon of your choice." Hackman said.

"A katana, made like the samurai did. Also when do I leave? Sir." Raz said with a smile.

"One month." Hackman said.
