Chapter 3

I awoke to the smell of a doctor's office. That wretched chemical smell was even worse with my heightened senses. Ugh. I realize that I am still holding his hand. I turn my head and see his beautiful, blue eyes staring back into mine.

"Morning angel." He says with a seductive smile.

"Morning yourself. I'm still tired. When did you wake up?" I said.

"I woke up about an hour ago. We had some visitors. Your parents came here and when they saw us holding hands, they went crazy. They are already talking about ceremony plans. They left you a duffle. It's under the bed. Then my Beta came..."

I stare at him, open-mouthed.

"You're an Alpha?" I almost screeched.

"Duh. Why'd you think that I had to go greet those vampires at the door? I would have rather stayed with you. By the way, thanks for the tip. They really do have a bad vibe. How are you feeling?"

"Me?" I almost screeched. Again. "You are hurt. You were bleeding like crazy and as soon as I saw what happened, I rushed to your side. I picked you up and carried you here. I haven't left since."

I wince at the 3 claw lines across his face. They are pink and swelled a little bit. I almost get sick thinking about it. But, at least I still have him.

"If I had lost you, I wouldn't know what to do. Even though I don't really know you, you are already everything to me. I think it's a little early to be saying this but, I love you Aaron. I really do. And I know you love me back just as much. I can see it in your eyes." Now it's my turn to flash him a seductive smile. And I do. "Now, let's see about getting you out of here. Whatdaya say?"

"Let's go. I have a crink in my neck that isn't going away" Aaron said.

"Me too. I'll drive you home after we check out." We go up to the front desk and we ask if we are allowed to be released. They agree and we are free. I go back to the bed to get my duffle. Then Aaron and I walk out, hand in hand, and we go to my car. It still has a dent. I start to get angry all over again. Something in my head tells me to put my hands against the dent and say "Repair." So I do. And, to my amazement, the dent fixes itself. Suddenly, I get tired, even though I just woke up. I make a mental note to ask Dad about it later. But right now, I have to get Aaron home and take care of him. So, we get in. I throw the duffle in the backseat. I don't think Aaron even noticed my fatigue after I repaired my car. I put the top down, for it is a beautiful morning, and start the car. He tells me where to go and I listen to his directions and, before long, we are parked in front of his ranch house. I look at the house. Beige siding with navy blue shutters. "Not a bad touch" I think to myself. I help him inside. I put him in the bed and go downstairs to make him home-made chicken-noodle soup. Somehow, I knew he would love it. After I make the soup, I wait a minute or two to for the soup to cool. In that minute or two, I call Mom.

"Hello?" I hear her soft voice through the phone.

"Mom, it's me. Yeah, I know it's been a while. No I don't want to start planning the ceremony yet. Yes, you can vacuum my room. Love you too. Bye."

I love my mother but sometimes she can be a bit eccentric. I put the soup in a bowl with a spoon. I look at the clock on the wall. It reads 12:00 PM. 12 already? Who would have known? I go down the hallway to Aaron's bedroom. I knock and enter his room. His room is very masculine. Blacks and whites and all the in-betweens. Very manly. It suits him. He is lying on the bed, his eyes closed and his lips curved upward in a light smile. I bring the bowl and spoon over to him and I sit on the edge of the bed. His eyes open and he sits up when he sees the soup. When he is all adjusted, I hand him the soup and spoon. I also hand him a napkin.

"Be careful. The soup may be a little hot. Enjoy your lunch. I'll be down in the kitchen if you need me."

"No! Stay. Please."

"Okay, Aaron. I'll stay."

He eats the soup with gusto. When he finishes, he climbs out of bed and walks with me to the kitchen. He puts the soup bowl and spoon in the sink. The used napkin goes in the trash. Then he looks at me and says "What now?"

"I don't know Aaron. I guess we have a ceremony and get mated. What do you think?"

"I think yes, but I can't wait that long."

"Aaron, I think my mother could whip up a quick ceremony. If anyone, she would be the one to do that."

"True. But, I have something I need to do first."

Then, he got down on one knee and he said "Rucker, I don't know you very well or very long but you are my soul mate. I can feel it and I love you so much. Would you do me the honors of being my mate for life?"

He pulled out a green velvet box and opened it. Nestled inside was a ring. It was two bands of metal intertwined. One band of gold and one band of silver, with a ½ karat diamond sitting on top of it all. It is a traditional diamond cut.

I say "Aaron, I don't know you very well or know you for very long, but I would be honored to be our mate for life. Yes, Aaron." I can't help but smile as I say yes. He steps up and puts the ring on my finger. It's a perfect fit. Then he takes my face in his hands and I take his face in my hands. We pull each other together and kiss. A gentle kiss that lasts for a while. Then, we break apart and I call my mother. I tell her all the details and she starts planning instantly. She can have it ready by tomorrow.

I say "Done. Love you too. Bye!"

"Aaron, we have a ceremony for tomorrow. Is that soon enough?"

"Yeah, Rucker. It's soon enough. I think."

"Okay then Aaron. I think we have to go to my parents to get a lot of things squared away. Come on!" I shoot him a very seductive smile. I hope he got the message. We got in my car, with the top down, and we left. I drove to my parent's house. We got out and walked up and into the house.

"Mom?"

"Sweetie! I hoped you would come by soon. We need your opinion on so many things. Come help. You too Aaron." I couldn't help but laugh at the look that crossed Aaron's face. Then I winced at the scars. We all walk into the kitchen. There are color pallets out and I instantly reach out and pick a Forrest Green pallet. She smacks my hand and scolds me for my poor color choice.

"Aaron, what do you like? Pick a pallet."

Aaron, looking confused, picked a beige pallet. I groaned. Mom was a sucker for beige. I like more of a crème. So I said "Compromise. Crème instead of beige and you get to pick the outfits."

Aaron, with a wicked smile, says "Deal. But you get the shoes."

"'Kay! Have fun!"

I leave the room to find the book that contains the newest wedding shoe styles. I find it and I look through it and find a pair that I like. Aaron and Mom are busy picking out an outfit. I show them my choice and Mom just about squeals in delight.

"Rucker, those will go perfectly with my, I mean our outfit we picked out! You always had a good fashion sense."

Next, we move onto cakes and music all in one step. I pick Angel by Madonna and Aaron picks a 3-teired, beige (ugh) cake. Mom scolds me, again, for not picking something more classical, but I don't budge. She likes Aaron's choice but I manage to keep my mouth shut. Now we move onto the reception and service. I want an outdoor service with the natural greens and our wedding whites. Aaron agrees with me. Mom also agrees (thank god). The reception will be outdoors as well but a little closer to our houses. The food will be a buffet of almost everything the world's culinary services have to offer. Champagne will be served but I will only have one flute of it. Everything is mostly done, with some minor tweaks Mom will do to make the Ceremony perfect. I look at the clock and it reads, 10:00 PM.

"Well, Mom, it's been fun but Aaron and I really must be getting home to get our rest. See you tomorrow!" I say.

"Bye Rucker! See ya Aaron!" Mom shouts from our veranda.

We put the top up and we climb in. I don't need directions this time. Soon, we arrive at Aaron's house. We go in and I go to the guest room. Aaron goes to the master bedroom.

We say "Goodnight, love."

We fall asleep, excited about tomorrow and the ceremony.
