Dragon's Roar Trio: Chapter 1

Alright, I've decided to put up my little story here. The name of this story originates from the fact that these three digimon all share the same Family type, which is Dragon's Roar. A corny name, but it does it for me. This chapter starts off everything, and the others will be coming up shortly.

There came a time in every digimon's life where they had that one event that happened in their lives, whether they wanted it to occur or not. Such an event was crashing into the life of one such digimon, a simple monodramon who loved eating, but couldn't do anything to stop it. This digimon had a high reputation for eating and surprisingly keeping his regular bulky appearance and size, and consuming exotic things, at least in Digital World standards. Right now, this digimon was going to go through what any employee had to deal with.

"BUTCH!"

An unbelievably pissed boss.

"I am so dead...." The reptile dreaded.

You see, little Butch here had taken up a job at an widely increasing hotel under the name of "Dragon's Roar" for some extra cash, and the fact that he needed a place to crash. With a nervous gulp, the monodramon padded toward his boss's office room, where he'd most likely shoot something at him. Again.

The reptile digimon opened the door slowly, and soon enough, a flaming blade had embedded itself in the wall beside the door. The Rookie quickly pushed the door open and closed it, a look of terror on his face as he faced his employer. The office itself was truly extravagant. A golden paint job, meant to reflect the owner's personality, along with a few statues of faceless digimon the purple reptile couldn't recognize, along with a few other fancy things he really didn't care for.

A large table lay at the center of the office, and behind it, Butch's boss and the current manager of the Dragon's Roar Hotel. A Ryudamon, sitting on a chair, paws pressed together with a look of irritation spread across his draconic features. With a simple clack of his jaws, the monodramon yelped in fear. "Y-you called for me, Boss?"

The Ryudamon opposite of him, only known as "Boss" was the manager of the Dragon's Roar hotel, and had a knack for being utterly cruel to his opponents and his workers whenever they deserved it. It was obvious why the monodramon was shaking in his proverbial boots. Aside from the fact that he was talking with his employer, Boss was not a normal Rookie by any standards. The fact that he had a few Champions and the rare Perfect level subservient to him was proof of that.

The armored dragon simply nodded, adjusting his helmet "You should know why you're here, Butch. If I have to spell it out, you can take that blade I shot out and well, I should leave that part as a surprise." The orange dragon said clearly. Butch's eyes glanced toward the wall where the 2ft piece of metal was embedded into the wall. With another gulp, the monodramon responded.

"Well, I guess it has to do with the fact that the clients aren't getting their food?" The digimon said hesitantly. Idiot! Why did he have to say it like that, of course it was because of that! The monodramon was a literal black hole in terms of food and he'd never stop sometimes unless someone did it for him. This issue soon became a problem as Butch soon began eating the room service meals ordered for other digimon and the occasional human client.

"You guess?" The ryudamon began. "Of course it's that, you twit. I can't have a freaking bell hop eating the food of others, now can I? Coupling in the predator looks you've been giving the humans that stay here, I have half a mind to fire you." The dragon finished with a sigh, spinning around in his chair.

"But I can't help that look sometimes! Some of them look kind of delicious and it all goes downhill from there..." The purple rookie murmured.

"Which is exactly why I'm not firing you. Yet." The orange dragon said once he had stopped spinning. "I'm giving you one chance to redeem yourself. I'm going to be pairing you up with another bell hop, seeing as he's lazy and I need to whip him into shape. I know the work you do when you're not eating and you'll hopefully get him into gear. Get it?" Boss finished.

"Got it." Was the simple response.

"Good." With a single paw, Boss had swiped up his phone, pressing a simple number. "Hey, Clark up here, as soon as possible. I don't care if you have to drag his ass here, just do it."

The orange dragon set the phone down, rolling his eyes, then staring at Butch. The armored dragon simply smiled. "Oh calm down! Not like I'm going to bite your head off." He cackled.

Butch let out a small yelp. Boss just scowled.

"You see, I don't know what makes you guys so afraid of me. I can be nice, whenever I feel like it." The dragon said, waving his paw around.

"I bet so, Boss." Butch nodded.

Before the small talk could continue, a solid knock on the door interrupted the two digimon. The door swung open, a Flamedramon stepping in, carrying a Veemon on his shoulder. "Got him for ya, Boss." The flame designed dragon said, dropping his co-worker. With a bow, the digimon soon left the room.

The veemon left on the floor muttered a string of curses, and then stood up, patting off any dirt he may have gathered up. "Stupid lizard thinks he can carry me around while I'm napping..." he muttered.

"Napping on the job, Clark?" Boss cut in.

The Veemon, known as Clark bothered looking up to see where he was located, and promptly yelped. "I would never, Boss. You know me...heheheheh...." The blue dragon said nervously, glancing at Butch. "So, we're gonna get axed?"

Boss just shook his head, pouting. "Why does everyone think that!?"

Butch raised his arm up to respond, but a quick glare shut him up.

"So anyways, you two are going to be working together for some time. You two are lacking and I aim to fix that." He said. The armored dragon soon jumped off his chair, landing in front of his desk and walking over to the two dragons and grabbing the both of them. "Don't know what it is about you two, but I don't feel like firing you because I think you have some potential."

"You do?" The two digimon questioned.

Boss nodded with a devilish smirk. That smirk never boded well to those who saw it, the monodramon and veemon thought. Last time someone was given that...well, they were going to spoil the details. Either way, the two digimon were effectively scared out of their wits. Whatever Boss had in mind couldn't be that bad.

Right?
