CHAPTER 4
Captain Sorrat was standing in transporter room two as Captain Beckmann and his officers materialized on the pad. There stood the young Captain. Beckman stood at about 6 feet tall with short red blonde hair. He was born in New York City on earth. He joined Starfleet Academy along with T'Lar in 2360. Beckmann and Sorrat were good friends at the Academy. Together they were able to rig their Warp Field Theory teacher's favorite Holodeck program. Their teacher favored Risa for its beautiful women. So Sorrat and Beckmann made the women grow long beards. As their teacher put it, "Such very fine beards on such young Women."
T'Lar smiled as he thought about it. '_Its good to see him again after all these years.' _ Beckmann and his crew stepped off the transporter. "Captain Sorrat! Its Always a pleasure" Beckmann shook T'Lars out stretched paw. "Yes , it is. Captain I'd like you to meet two of my Senior Officers. This is Lt. Commander M'Tark Larn and Commander Rena Gattes." Beckman smiled and shook their hands. "Nice to meet you. Captain, I'd like you to meet my officers. This is my Engineer Sular." He pointed to a rather stern Vulcan woman. "And these two are Alenis Bennya, and Malo Hurst." He pointed to a female Bajoran and a Male human. M'Tark and Alenis smiled at each other. Captain Sorrat lowerd his paw. "So, shall we get to work? I believe The lieutenant Commander and Malo Hurst can start on the sensor Array. Alenis, Doctor M'Taile is in her quarters so you can wait in sickbay until she arrives. Gattes and Sular can start on the getting the warp drive back online. And Captain Beckmann and I will work on turbolift control." They all headed out of the transporter room. Captain Sorrat and Beckmann started walking down the hallway. "So where are we headed to T'Lar?" "Deck 8, turbolift access." Captain Sorrat opened the hatch to the Jeffries tube. "After you Brian."
Captains Sorrat and Beckmann emerged on deck 8 ,"Alrighty then." Captain Beckmann said as the two entered Turbolift control. Captain Sorrat bent down and removed the cover to the controls. "May I do the honors?" Captain Beckmann said bowing jokingly. "Fine with me." T'Lar smiled and handed Beckmann the hypospanner from the nearby repair kit. As Beckmann laid on his back as T'lar walked over to the nearby terminal and ran his fingers over it. "Turbolifts on all decks are offline, but the ones on decks 7-10 are destroyed." T'Lar heard a thud and a muffled ow. T'Lar smiled and turned back to the access panel. "You ok in there?" Beckmann came out of the crawlspace beneath the panel. "Yeah I'm fine , just hit my head." He rub the top of his head and smiled. "By the way, I noticed the plasma relays are still on under there." T'Lar turned his back on Beckmann and quickly pressed a few buttons on the panel. "There now you won't fry like an egg."
Beckmann crawled back under the terminal and resumed working. "So..Brian, hows your wife doing these days?" Beckmanns response came muffled. "Oh, Heather? She's fine, she's head of Starfleet Science now. " "Oh congratulations, Brian. Say, wasn't she the one that found that metaphasic life form in a dark matter nebula?" A eerie blue light shown from under the access space. "Yes, that discovery won her the Zee-Magnees Prize." The blue light dimmed to a faint glow. "So, T'Lar, hows your wife doing?" Captain Sorrat continued to work his station. "Shes fine, a bit shaken up since we got the ship off Xentara Two." A loud beeping noise filled the room as the lights dimmed a bit. "Crap! Brian Get out of there!!" Captain Sorrat quickly tapped the panel as Captain Beckmann hurried out of the crawl space. "What happened?!" Captain Sorrat turns around and breathed deeply. "The Phase Coupler under that access panel almost overloaded.
"Well thank gosh you managed to stop it. I think I'm done under there anyway." Captain Beckmann put the tools away as Captain Sorrat finished up his work on the panel. "Lets check the turbo lift's out and see if they work." Both Captains exited the room and entered the turbolift. Beckmann bent down and looked at a broken panel. "What the hell did this?!" Captain Sorrat smiled. "I believe the Doctor did that. Lets fix it." The two started to run a hydro spanner over the panel.
