CHAPTER 1

The weekend seemed to go by slowly almost quickly after the first day ended and the next day began, lucky enough she was able to get all of her homework finished without much problem at all. Trying to avoid from using the computer knowing Davis would be pestering her nonstop about either wanting to take Kari out or chatting with her nonstop. Currently she had made plans with T.K. to go on a picnic to get away from the real world for a while. She allowed for a sigh of relief to escape from her lips as she was looking forward to the picnic that she and T.K. had been planning for a few weeks now. Although it was a way of getting away from the current problems of the real life to the troubles with the Digimon Emperor that continued to conquer certain areas in the digital world.

Dressed in her usual clothing of short sleeve T-shirt with hand warmers that stretched up past her elbows complete with long socks and short shorts she was a sight to see almost. It differed from what she use to wear when she was younger as everything had changed or replaced by something new which included the whistle that she once wore around her neck was replaced by a digital camera which she enjoyed taking pictures with. And with the picnic, she planned on taking several pictures of the picnic to use them to tease Davis as she found it fun to torture his whenever she could. Enjoying other things other than these which included listening to music and hanging out with friends, everything seemed true up to the age of 3 when her life changed upon meeting an Argumon, a digimon from a different world. About 5' 0" Anthro lizard, he was almost terrifying when she and her brother Tai had met him however he seemed gentle to them, Argumon was only there for one single night before disappearing after a huge battle with another digimon.

With the next day nothing was left of the battle or any kind of existence of him or the other being there, however that single night everything had changed for her. Now at the age of 12, she was just trying to get a good education and help save both worlds in the process as a new threat seemed to pop up every occasion. Which wasn't always the easy part of growing up, nevertheless, T.K. and her found free time for once to get away from both world's for vacation.

Closing her notebook holding all of the schoolwork for school placing it back in her backpack making sure that it was there when she went back to school, Kari smiled looking at the time. It was nearly 12:00 giving her enough time to get everything together before heading for the school.

There was only one way to get to the digital world nowadays unlike in the past which was much more difficult, now all it took was just taking to go to the school and showing their dig devices to the computer and they were on their way to the digital world.

Going into the kitchen, Kari found her mother working away at her computer writing up a newspaper article that she offered a smile to her daughter looking up from the computer screen. "You all finished with your homework?"

"Yep just finished it." Kari said as she looked into the fridge as she went about picking out items for the picnic getting together for lunch. Stuffed with a couple of sandwiches, a large bottle of lemonade which she had made for this occasion, some fruit wrapped to keep fresh and a medium sized bag of chips to complete the basket.

"Kari, your friend Davis has been trying to get ahold of you. I have been trying to finish this article and he has been messaging me every second." Her mom called from the computer as Kari went about throwing the items into the basket.

"Don't tell him about the picnic. Just tell him that I am doing extra assignments." She said not taking time to explain things as she headed for the door. Before her mother could ask about what she meant, Kari had already left the house leaving her a bit confused.

Arriving at the school separately to try and show nothing special, Kari found that T.K. working at one of the computers in the back punching away at the computer while she walked up to him unwillingly chatting with Davis by the sounds of it.

"Lucky you signed in at school instead at home or you may have been late." She said while he finished up with the last of the work before turning to her.

"Aye, he still thinks that we are doing stuff behind his back...like it's any of his business." He answered standing up as he picked up the basket adding his own stuff to it making it much easier to carry pulling out his D-Device, the only item that allowed them to get through the to the other world. "All ready to go?"

"Yep...all set lets go." She answered raising her own device up. Quickly upon the devices appearing, the computer that sat dormant began to glow enveloping the two quickly. With a quick whoosh, the pair disappeared into the computer and that's where things started to get strange. Normally when they the terminal, they would get digitalized never resulting in what happened next.

In the light that consumed both, Kari was the first to feel the sudden change as her body began to lose height and her weight stayed the same although it back to become disportioned. As she dropped down to barely stand at 3 feet 2 inches she found that her clothing seem to change also becoming like that of robe that flowed down over her changed from everything becoming the color of yellow with one large half-moon on the belly part and another two on either sleeve. Her camera phone spread out also changing growing into a medallion that hung around her neck like a prized item for her that she still cherished a lot more than thought of.

Near her, T.K. was experiencing the same thing although his seemed to take a little longer because of how scrawny he was although both of the two were about the same weight, as soon as he dropped in height the weight shot up to his head causing it to grow almost swell to bigger portions. The pain in his head became nearly unbearable at one point that T.K. tried to put his now short hard against his ears feeling as they were about to pop however he found like his legs, everything was short.

Letting out a shout, both humans found that they ears began to pop and began to push outward away from the creatures heads became floppy and swollen to great portions. With the added weight, the two former ears began to drope away from their heads, the tips of the ears having become like pimples on their heads shot upward moving away from their usual positions.

Reaching a point on top of their heads, they became like a second set of ears almost annetae becoming a steady balance enough that they didn't droop like the other part of their ears that had become separate.

Shaking her head trying to clear the buzzing out of her head, Kari finally felt that everything seemed to stop buzzing enough to allow her head to clear enough to allow her eyes to open. In turn this revealed that her eye sight had improved changing color and shape becoming bigger almost doe like and gentle.

The blinding like that once surrounded them was gone leaving both, now changed into what seemed like a weird digimon that neither had seen before, standing in a meadow overlooking a valley before them. Turning toward the other digimon in surprise and confusion about what had just happened; Kari allowed her mouth to move enough to ask. "T.K.?" she inquired her voice sounding softer and almost musical in appearance.

Looking at the digimon in front of him in surprise after the creature spoke to him causing him to wonder if it was Kari. "Kari...is that you?"

"I guess so...how did this happen, T.K.?" she asked in urgency manner wondering if their change was permanent.

"I don't know, but we may want to contact Gennai and maybe he can figure out what's going on." He answered looking around to find their D-Terminals lying next to the basket just a few yards off. Scurrying over to one, Kari flipped the cover open allowing the small screen to appear finding it rather harder to reach down with her arms causing her to kneel down at the device. Hitting in a series of keys, they began waiting for a response from the old man. Gennai had been an ally to the digidestine since the first trip helping out when possible, although the man was small in stature, he had a big heart that's for sure.

Finally after a few minutes, the old man's face appeared on the little screen with his usual slanted eyes making most people wonder if he was awake at times. "Hello?" he asked looking closer to the screen coming a bit confused by the surprise appearance of two digimon using a Terminal that usually was use by humans that came to the digiworld.

"Gennai! It's Kari and T.K. we need your help!" Kari said in an almost panic voice although she had calmed down after the shock almost.

"Kari? No that's impossible, the Kari I know is a human, not a Lunamon." The old man asked in confusion which clearly played across his face his eyes opening in a big of a surprise.

"Gennai, it's true! Kari and I came here for a picnic for the day and when we came through at the beginning we were humans and then this happened." T.K. answered taking over. Gennai seemed to think about it considering the circumstances about the events that were not known by most before nodding.

"Well you know I have heard of circumstances in which humans that have visited here have been known to be accidentally to be turned into digimon." He explained after a few minutes of consideration causing both to wonder if panic if they should be worried. "However from what I can remember is that when they have gone back to the human world they have changed back to human form once more every time. So if you two are who you say you are then if you go back home you should find yourselves back to normal upon arrival."

With those words, the pair let out a sigh of relief allowing their shoulders to droop in relief. "We were considering on taking a picnic here, would it hurt if we stayed any longer?"

Gennai thought for a few minutes before letting out a mummer before letting out a chuckle. "I don't see any problems but don't stay too long we don't know if you stay this way on long term if you will stay that way."

Again the two let out a sigh of relief offering a kind smile to the old man. "Thanks, Gennai. You have been really helpful."

"No trouble at all, kids." He said before there was a beep in the background indicating that a timer had just gone off. "Oops there is my tofu. I got to go, please call if you have any other questions, kids."

"We will thank again." They called as the screen went blank as the two let out a breath of relief. T.K. turned to Kari grinning once more. "Too bad you can't take pictures of this. This would get a laugh from the gang."

"Ha-ha, T.K. Anyways, where shall we go to have our picnic?" she asked looking around at the beautiful scenery.

"Why not just here, it's a beautiful spot." T.K. said indicating the sloping plains around them. She quickly agreed with the fact that both one of them could really move the basket and it would be easier to get home again. Pulling out a checkered blanket throwing it out on to the grass before pulling out any of the food. Off in the distance, a set of evil eyes continued to watch the pair with intent of stealing the food however he wasn't about to go about asking for it.

DemiDevimon a rare digimon was well known to both Kari and T.K. and when the first attack of demi darts struck near them causing them to fall backwards. Another set of darts came quicker barely allowing a couple of them to strike both before they could get to their feet once more. Looking around a bit panic as neither of their digimon partners came with them causing them to dive for cover as another attack swept down on them.

"KARI! ARE YOU OKAY!?" T.K. called out seeing that she seemed in as bad of shape as he was. To Kari, she was all ready starting to feel ill from the attack that she had just experience as she felt her stomach begin to heave wanting to throw up her morning breakfast. She tried to nod her head as a signal not to worry however she found herself dizzy trying to stay down.

Looking up over the basket in which they had dived behind it to avoid the attacks to find the almost unmistakable form of DemiDevimon hovering just a few feet away looking for any sign of them. Dropping his head back down as the digimon turned in his direction, T.K. told Kari about what he had seen as the sudden news was that they were going to continue to be attack unless they did something.

Rising up once more trying to fight off the effects of the darts that were inflicting on his body, T.K. went about using Lunar claw to swipe at DemiDevimon as he tried to grab on to the basket. Surprised by the sudden appearance, DemiDevimon was sent backwards in surprise shaking his head to clear it and was about to attack once more before a sudden rush of bubbles hit him straight in the face sending him spiraling into the sky once more out of sight.

T.K. dropped to the ground finally feeling the effects of the attacks affecting his system he turned toward Kari who had managed to assist with the attack but only the one. "One heck of a day for a picnic, huh?"

"Yeah...I think its time to go home..." Kari said figuring that it would be best to go home before we really catch a cold."

Helping her up before moving to the d-terminals where they lay tapping the keys to send them home. Once again they with their stuff were enveloped in a blinding light were sucked away from the world with both looking forward to getting home to live another day.

When the light disappeared from around them, both became startled by the fact that they hadn't changed at all standing in the classroom once more.
