Omnivice Explination (Work In Progress)

So, you've been reading though the stories we of Team Starlight have made from our logs, and you have a massive interest in our Omnivices? Well, this is for you. Hello, my name is TeraDyne Ezeri, though you might know me better as "Altair". I'm the one who assigns Omnivices for the most part. First, a bit of history.

-History-

Several years ago, I created a device simply known as the "MFD", or Multi-Function Device. This device was bulky, built into a weapons platform on my right wrist that included energy cannons and a retractable plasma whip sword. It had crude transformational abilities, but was primarily a combat system. The cards it used allowed me to attack with various skills that others used, making me a mimic. It also allowed access to the original CopyCat skill, which I could use to copy the physical form of another being. Above all, though, it was a computer, and I used it a lot.

Then came my move to the world of Pokètara. Skip ahead about two thousand years into the future of one timeline. Another version of myself perfected the transformational effects of the MFD, and utilized the crystals I can harvest from my personal storage "pocket dimension" to create special circuitry that made the device easily shaped into a much smaller scale. He also used ambient extradimensional energy to power it, and renamed it the Omnivice version one.

After a while, he was forced to flee though a time warp, where he found me and gave me the Omnivice he had made. Before he could give me his notes, though, Dialga erased him from the timeline. As a personal friend of Arceus, I... punished Dialga myself before setting to work on reverse-engineering what I had been given. Eventually, I was able to refine the circuitry to make the Omnivice version two. Devices were usually called the Command Divers, while the cards were called Command Cards. Literally, the cards ran commands which the device followed. They also had blueprints for whatever effect they were made to hold.

-Basics-

Today, the devices are much different. We use the two-nine-nine-omega (2.9.9.?) version Omnivices, possibly the final version until I figure out where I can truly improve them. They're made for two forms: embedding into wearable accessories or equipment, or implanted into the user's body. I myself have my Omnivice embedded into my body, with the legacy card scanners placed in the palm of my right hand, our teammate Nocti has his Omnivice behind each of his ears, and teammate Auva has it embedded in her right forearm. Another teammate, Ceti, wears hirs as wristbands, while my sister Vega has it embedded in hir collar. The possibilities are virtually endless, and I can even add them to existing devices without disrupting their use, such as a communicator pin or wristband computer.

Omnivices are composed of a single physical part, the scanner pad, which looks like a black gem that has no luster. Within the device is a pocket dimension that holds the majority of the components, and also draws minute amounts of energy to power it. The components themselves form a classified computer system that creates the transformations and effects it's called on to make. Currently, there are two different types of Omnivices: Civilian and Starlight. Here, I'll only cover the civilian version.

Upon installation, or when the wearer first puts it on, the Omnivice registers them as the sole user. No one else will be able to access it without the user's permission. Then, it links with the user's mind to create a custom "Neural UI" display within their vision. This interface acts as a heads-up display which is created by the owner, and there is no standard for them. However, it always gives the user access to four built-in applications: email, text and audio/video chat, a built-in book reader for manuals, and access to the user's card library.

Unlike older systems, the newer Omnivices store the user's cards within a special digital storage unit. No need to scan them anymore, as it does everything internally using the Neural UI, allowing the user to control everything with their mind. To receive cards, one simply has to experience something, either for themselves or through watching others for a short period of time. For example, if someone were to transform a user into latex, they could return to normal with ease using the "Revert" command. Meanwhile, the Omnivice would create a card called "Latex Body", allowing them to change back and forth at will.

-Cards-

The cards themselves are virtually endless in variety. There are a few staples, such as the Living Plush and various species, but so many others are being discovered that there's no way I can cover them all. I don't even have all of them myself. However, if you do have cards you wish to share, you can easily do so by sending a copy of them in an email from your Omnivice. It's that easy.

-Chimera Mode-

Another upgrade that's been added with the latest version is the ability to make in-depth customizations to one's form. Unofficially called the "Chimera Module", I created it to allow one to make truly unique forms and store them for later use. One only needs a species card or two to make it work, but once a user starts to dig deep, they can really become artistic with their body. On top of simple species changes for each body part, one can further customize using Card Stacks, allowing for specifics like skin or fur type, what kind of limb it is, and even limb placement.

In one example, my sister Sirius started with a Garchomp body. Then shi added the Extra Arms card to give hir four arms total. The two upper arms were turned into thick body-like arms with Garchomp heads (think Hydregion) that were completely usable, while the lower arms were thin with two-digit-and-thumb hands styled like a normal Garchomp. Then shi stacked the Color Change cards to make everything Black and Red with Houndoom colors. Next, shi added a Taur Body and Extra Limbs for hir lower torso, with Lugia limbs for all six legs and feet. Shi also added Lugia and Garchomp spinal fins, a Garchomp tail, and gave hirself two pairs of eyes with each head. While extreme, this "Nightmare Garchomp" form is a good example of how much customization one can get into, and it only scratches the surface. Even I haven't stretched it to it's limits yet.

As a note for adding heads to any body part, please be aware that the user is in complete control of them, and will have to use them concurrently with their normal head. They are also "feature complete", able to see, hear, smell, taste, speak, eat, and so on.

-Split/Fusion-

Originally a classified item, I eventually added the "Split/Fusion" card as a standard with every Omnivice. This card, when activated, allows the user to fuse or conjoin with another being in virtually any way they wish, so long as the partner is willing. The classic conjoinment of having two heads, one body, and one set of limbs is a staple, but users can merge in many different ways. Currently, Civilians can only merge with up to two others at any given time.

-Default Form-

If at any time the user wishes to make a change to their body permanent, they can activate the "Default Form" command. This takes a snapshot of their current body and remembers it. When the user reverts, they will automatically change back to that form, rather than their birth form.

-Temp Clones/ Energy Clones-

If the wearer is rendered helpless by the effects of the cards they've used, and are about to be fatally wounded in some way, the Omnivice has a built-in safeguard system. A clone made of energy will take the user's place while their real body is teleported a short distance to safety, reverting them to their default form.

The Omnivice is capable of creating life-less axillary bodies for the user to experiment with, and when the bodies are close together, the user can even inhabit several at one time. HOWEVER, this is a feature that only I can unlock, and I only do so for specific people whom I feel wouldn't abuse it.

-Getting An Omnivice-

Getting a civilian Omnivice is rather easy. Typically, you just have to ask me for one, either through an email or just a simple note. They've been designed as to avoid causing direct chaos with others. Many features you might have seen in our logs, such as effect and transformation sharing, are disabled in civilian versions. They're usually free, though I don't say no to offers of being able to experience new things. Any chance to create new cards is a chance I gladly take. I also don't say no to a simple technology swap.
