This is a story I was inspired to start because of a very special friend. It includes situations with some people may be uncomfortable with such as male/male romance. Please use discretion when reading, and if you do not enjoy this sort of thing then don't read it! Thank you for your comments and advice. Enjoy!

"Twenty-five ninety-six," spoke a curt female voice for the third time in a row. The sounds of shopping carts, whining children and cheesy inspirational music was theme to which the supermarket operated. There in checkout number eight stood the very unamused badger. Middle-aged female badger decorated by dress clothes and apron baring the logo of Tentop Shopping Centre held a very unappealing, angry grimace-- fist clenched tightly as it wedged against her hip. Free palm was shoved out all of a sudden, a bark of demand given to the distracted rabbit. "Sir, y'need to pay for that food!" This shook Tyler out of his daze almost instantly, gasp emitted as booklet in his hands was dropped. Heart racing, cheeks flushing a lush tint of pink, eyes darted around wildly. Three customers in line behind the lad were glaring right through him.

Tyler had always been a quiet, timid young man-- never the type to really impress anybody he worked with. He was an average height for his age, reaching a simple height of five foot and ten inches while not including the length of those perked, smooth bunny ears atop his head. Fur was a rich, soft tone of an egg shell white, while vibrant eyes of a violet hue contrasted the milky texture of his complexion. Not pudgey, but not lean-- a nice little zone in between the two. Black strands of hair sprouted from scalp, silken and wavy down the length of his neck and cheeks; somewhat thick in volume leading to the occasional tangle. Attire consisted of baggy cargo jeans which were lined with pockets on either leg, containing the usual tears or hole in the fabric from years of use. Upon torso he wore a dark T-shirt imprinted with the logo of his favorite band; Catnip.

Now that attention had been stolen away from the horoscope booklet he had been flipping through, he stuffed hand into his pocket to frantically search for his wallet. Nope, wrong pocket. The cashier rolled her eyes, giving that annoying click of her tongue that all women must know how to do before offering an irritated huff. Tyler tried another pocket, then another before he finally located the accursed thing! Thirty dollars was quickly fished out and offered shakily to the badger named Tasha. With lightning speed spee punched numbers into the register, shoved those two crisp bills into the till and exchanged for crumbled, tattered dollar bills along with dirty change. "Have a nice day," came her curt voice again as she shoved receipt and money in his direction. Gathering his goods, money and slip of recorded purchases with swiftness Tyler made a beeline for the sliding glass doors that led him to freedom of those leering eyes.

Violet eyes met a dark, foreboding sky that could only mean rain was well on the way. Two plastic bags were handled in his left hand while the money was stuffed into the pocket holding his wallet. He sighed, brushing that free hand through his hair quietly as his blush began to dissipate. "What a bitch," the rabbit muttered to himself before starting his travel down the walkway. He was thankful that the city had built the strip mall with a covered walkway, because of instances where rain might have otherwise started landing on his head. Tyler enjoyed the rain unlike most people, but he wasn't so keen on getting soaked in it.

Plastic bags swayed with their weight smacking lightly into Tyler's leg as he walked. He hadn't purchased much, and certainly nothing that was incredibly healthy-- just a little food and drink to tide him over for a few more days when his paycheck would arrive from work. He seemed to be calming down from the rude encounter with the cashier, blush now completely gone from ivory cheeks and heart rate slowed to a normal beat. However, he still brooded on her behavior. Why did anybody need to be so rude and impatient? A simple tap on the shoulder would have sufficed, he thought. He paused a moment in his walking, though didn't realize he stood directly in front of the door to the local gym. Violet eyes watched the churning clouds in the sky, as if some hidden beauty were to be found in their melancholy ways. In his observant watching, he didn't even seem to notice the door open behind him with a soft chiming of bells tapping against glass. Just then, a loud roll of thunder cracked and lightning arked across the horizon.

The rabbit jerked, leaping backwards in fright only to have something soft halt his advance. Heart racing once again, he looked down at the addition of dark arms around his chest that embraced him into the chest of a lean, handsome wolf. Dark eyed peered up frightfully to the stranger he had bumped into, soft little voice of his stammering and shaking as he attempted to speak up and apologize. Before he managed to form a single word, smug grin and golden eyes silenced him. "Well, well, well.. look what I just found." The toned wolf chuckled softly as he squeezed the rabbit softly, a palm moving lower to rub across his tummy in a somewhat soothing matter. "Y'know, it's dangerous for such a delicious little thing like yourself to be wandering out in a storm like this." He leaned closer, giving the boy a brief nuzzle. "Y'might catch a cold," he whispered into one of those tall ears.

Tyler trembled a bit, though blush filled each cheek from the masculine embrace he found himself in. Fearful, wild look gleamed in his own dark eyes while he stared up at the canine. "S-sorry, I didn't mean to bump into y-you, Sir." He tried to lean forward and squirm his way out of that comforting hug, but there was no give. Though the wolf held him gently and warmly, it was still firm and there was no way a small rabbit like himself could overpower this toned, strong wolf.

His fur was a charcoal shade of black, not a single spot or streak of any shade in his fur. Pitch black as the night sky, with eyes of a full harvest moon. The man eventually let him go with a soft sigh, assuming the lad was not quite comfortable. "Quite alright, though I wonder.. how do you intend to correct that?" He eyed him with a raised eyebrow, somewhat amused by the way that the rabbit shivered.

"W-what," came a startled reply. Then he noticed the mess he had made all over those black dress slacks, suddenly pulling up his left hand to eye to fluid dripping from the plastic bag. A carton of eggs he had been carrying must have burst when the rabbit collided so quickly into the tall stranger. "I am s-so sorry, Sir! Oh, god.. this is all my fault.." He quickly set down his bags and dug through his pockets, pulling out a napkin he had saved from lunch that afternoon.

Tyler got to his knees and worked furiously to rub the stain out of the wolf's slacks. Pleased by the display, a soft little rumble came from the wolf's chest. "Again, quite alright.." A palm lowered to rub through the lad's hair, stroking an ear gently. Blush upon the bunnies cheeks deepened at the stroking of his ear, a soft little groan enticed. The egg was cleaned off as well as could be, though a spot could still be seen in the dark fabric.

"I'm sorry.. d-do you want me to pay for your dry cleaning? T-those look expensive.." The tall, imposing and dark canine shook his head with a laugh. He leaned over and cupped the rabbit's face in one large palm, eyeing him with a confident smile. "Not at all, little one. We all make mistakes." He eyed him for a moment, expression slowly changing to somewhat perverse grin.

"Just be careful from now on, Bun-Bun." With that, the wolf stood and offered the lad his hand.

Tyler hesitantly took the offer, standing up with ease as assistance was offered. Gathering the two grocery bags, he sighed quietly and groaned a bit. Well, he wouldn't be having omelets tomorrow, he decided. "Thank you for understanding.. eheh.. I'm usually not so," he trailed off, peering up to offer the wolf a smile. "... dazed?" The wolf was nowhere to be seen. Tyler peered into the gym but saw only a few other people he'd never met before. He glanced out into the parking lot, but not a single familiar face was seen. The boy sighed in disappointment, still blushing from the encounter. Tyler shuffled down the walkway quietly, rather embarrassed to see a small bulge had formed in the center of his pants.

Eventually the lad made it home, climbed the stairs to the second floor of his own apartment building and approached his door in silence. Upside-down golden G hung there to the right of the door frame, and for a moment the rabbit would eye it simply wondering if management would ever fix it. Key was turned in the knob before Tyler pushed the door open quietly, trudging inside. He was soaked to the bone! The image of annoyed, melancholy wet rabbit would be seen in the doorway of his house for only himself to see in a mirror across the hallway. Door was shut with a nudge of his foot, shoes soaked from puddles kicked off by the doorway onto a rug. "Why don't I own a damn umbrella," he muttered. Before he could take two steps into his home, a loud knock at the door startled him.

Tyler wandered off to the kitchen quietly, setting down grocery bags in the sink before returning just as another series of knocks made his stomach twist. Nobody ever visited him, so it only meant that it had to be the manager at the door. Tyler wasn't disappointed, unfortunately-- there in the peephole was the familiar tiger, a very unsatisfied look upon his face. With a heavy sigh, he unlocked the door and pulled it open. "Oh, hello there Mister Johnson--"

He was cut off as the annoyed tiger shook a hand dismissively. "Yeah, yeah-- save the bullshit. Listen, you're three days overdue on your rent. What's the hold-up?" His narrowed eyes made the boy uncomfortable.

"W-well, I don't get paid until Monday, Sir.. you know that.." He had told him on many other occasions, but it seemed that the man kept forgetting it for some reason.

"Fine, but I'd better have the money on my desk by Monday afternoon or your ass is out of here!" With that, the tiger grimaced and stormed off-- all the while muttering and cursing to himself. What an unpleasant man, Tyler thought to himself as he shut the door.

The rabbit leaned against the door quietly, eyes somewhat glazed as he stared up at the white popcorn bumps in the ceiling. Tears developed suddenly and he started to weep, sliding down the door until rear pressed into the floor. Tyler sat there weeping quietly, wondering how in the world he could have had such a bad day when it had started off so wonderfully. The rabbit had gotten a good night of sleep, woken up refreshed and happy. His day at work was horribly slow and every customer he spoke to seemed to be angry or short-spoken with him. Then there was the incident in the supermarket, not to mention the strange man who had caught him as he jumped back. He hoped the wolf wasn't angry with him for the stain he had caused. The boy squeaked in surprise as soft knocking against the door jerked him out of his thoughts. "D-damnit," he whimpered while pushing himself up. Palms rubbed at eyes to remove those tears before he realized that the rest of him was still wet -- no possible way somebody would know he'd been crying. Well, other than the redness of his eyes but he could always excuse that as lack of sleep.

Peeking through the peephole, he met a familiar face with a gasp; it was the wolf from the gymnasium! Tyler was frightened to see him, wondering if perhaps he had been stalked. A small paper bag was held horizontally in one of the stranger's large palms, while the other was clenched and poised to knock again. Against his better judgment, Tyler unlocked the door and opened it slowly, peeking through the door frame. "H-hello?"

He was greeted with a warm grin and wave as clench fist opened. "Aaah, so this is your place." The wolf chuckled to himself, rubbing the back of his neck softly. "This must seem creepy to you, I'm sure.. but actually I live just a few buildings down." He pointed to the left as he explained, then offered the bag to the rabbit. "Anyway, I figured you might like these." The bag was exchanged to the bunny who released his hold on the door, letting it swing further open.

Tyler peered sideways into the bag, blinking a few times as he eyed the barcode on the side of yellow carton. "... eggs?" He pulled the carton out to verify his suspicions-- indeed, they were eggs. "A growing rabbit like y'self can't very well go without eggs, now can he?" The wolf grinned and offered a soft chuckle as he crossed arms over his chest. "Besides.. y'know Easter will be here before you know it!"

Tyler rolled his eyes with a soft sigh. He was so tired of that joke! The gesture itself was still kind, though. Tyler slid the carton back into the bag and set it on the table behind him before peering back out the door. "Thanks.. that's so kind of you, Sir." The wolf grimaced a bit and shook his head.

"Please, my name is Sam. Besides, I can't be much older than you." He offered the shy boy a grin, displaying sharp teeth. The bunny laughed nervously and nodded to the wolf quietly.

"Alright, then.. that is very kind of you, Sam." He looked down at the stain in the male's slacks, wincing a bit.

"And yours," the wolf queried, pulling Tyler out of his worries of the stained fabric.

Tyler glanced up as Sam spoke to him, somewhat dazed expression on the lapine's face. "... I'm sorry?" Sam chuckled to himself and shook his head gently.

"Your name, silly. What is your name," the wolf asked a second time.

Tyler felt a little embarrassed, wondering why he was so inattentive today. "Oh, it's Tyler.. sorry," he apologized once again. Sam placed a fingertip to his lips and tapped them lightly.

"Mmm, Tyler Sorry.. interesting name." Smug grin was offered to the lad as wolf leaned forward. "Don't apologize so much, Mister Sorry." Tyler just couldn't help but blush and laugh a bit to himself, though soft and hardly heard. Sam certainly heard it though, grin tugging a bit more at the corners of his lips. Silence was soon shared between the two men, timid rabbit peering up at confident wolf. Eyes connected for a while, gaze shared in the intense quiet the two were cloaked in.

Somehow, it seemed electric to Tyler-- the conflict of his violet eyes gazing up into those bright, gleaming golden eyes belonging to Sam. "Would you.. like to come in?"

The wolf seemed pleased with the offer, as if he had been waiting on it all along. "Mm, I thought you would never ask, Tyler." With that, the rabbit stepped aside as the canine made himself welcome and stepped inside quietly. "Though perhaps you should dry yourself off, eh?" The rabbit looked up in confusion, having completely forgotten he was soaking wet. "What do you mean?" Sam paused, turned to eye the boy with a grin before leading palms into the boys hair. Grip was taken of his longest strands of hair, squeezed tightly and wrung free of moisture that splattered onto the wooden flooring.

Tyler blushed hotly as he realized his state. "Oh my god, I am so sorry! L-let me go get tidied up." With that he scampered off into the apartment, sliding to a thud into a wall as the floor provided no traction to his damp feet. Laughing softly to himself, Sam closed the door behind him with a gentle click, followed by the low metallic thud of deadbolt.

A smug grin remained upon his lips as he peered through the hall, somewhat concerned for the rabbit that quickly rushed out of sight towards the bathroom. A quiet, silky whisper soon left the wolf: "Quite alright, my sweet little rabbit.. take your time.."

Tyler was working fast to remove his soggy clothes, pulling off shirt in a fast jerking motion before tossing it onto the floor. Pants were shrugged off once pockets were emptied and shaken off on top of the shirt -- the two articles of clothing creating a damp puddle on the linoleum of his bathroom floor. He didn't just want to keep the strange man waiting on him, otherwise he'd have taken a shower to kill two birds with one stone. Instead he just retrieved a towel from the cabinet underneath the sink and proceeded to dry himself off. It was then that he realized his mistake -- he had let a complete stranger into his house and left him alone. What in the hell was he thinking?

That wolf could have pilfered all of his belongings and made off with them all before Tyler could even finish drying himself off. A sinking sensation fell in his stomach just then when he realized another upsetting scenario; what if the wolf wasn't interested in his material possessions? What if his desire was more primal and lustful? Tyler felt sick as he realized what he had just done, letting some total stranger into his house. Tyler couldn't escape if something went wrong, because he knew that wolf had to be twice as strong as he himself was, without a doubt. When he had finished, he opened the bathroom door and stepped into his bedroom quietly to find himself some clothing.

Clearly he'd forgotten to shut his bedroom door; for the wolf got a pleasant view of everything the young bunny had to offer. Proving his skill in observation, Tyler walked around the bedroom quietly, completely oblivious to the watchful eyes. He leaned over, pulling open dresser drawer to retrieve a pair of silk boxers which were pulled onto bare form. A soft little sigh of disappointment left the wolf as he watched from the hallway, golden eyes glowing in the darkness. Shirt and pants were then pulled onto his body just as Tyler turned around. The door was shut, just as he thought he remembered leaving it. The boy opened the door and started down the hall, wary of guest room to his right that was hardly ever used. In the kitchen he found the wolf sifting through the plastic grocery bags in the sink. Tyler paused, watching him silently. Sam was not as olivious as the rabbit was an immediately paused. "All better, Tyler?"

The rabbit flinched, fingertips gripping the door frame gently before he came out of hiding and walked into the kitchen. "Y-yeah.." The groceries had all been put away to his surprise. "... you didn't have to do that," he muttered.

Sam simply chuckled as he shook his head, trashing the two plastic bags and brown paper bag in one balled up mass. "Nonsense," he replied. Golden eyes settled on the new attire; plain brown T-shirt and blue denim jeans. "Lookin' sharp, Bun-Bun." Those white cheeks would flush once again, turning a light shade of pink. Apparently the wolf enjoyed the little pet name he had come up with for Tyler. "Even sharper when you blush that way," he muttered softly.

Tyler was beginning to feel a little uncomfortable with those eyes leering over his form, examining him. "Umm.. thank you..?" He peered up quietly, still rather embarrassed by the compliments he had just received. Tyler was trying to find the nerve to ask the wolf why he had come, but more importantly why he had stayed. The boy was so sheepish and afraid to offend him in some manner, but eventually he found his voice and spoke up, even though quietly. "I appreciate you bringing me the eggs.. and putting up the groceries, but.. w-well, may I ask why you're really here?" Even if the boy wasn't completely attentive and observant, at least he was smart enough to realize that their had to be some sort of ulterior motive behind his kind gesture. Sam narrowed his eyes a bit, smile slowly disappearing from his lips.

"Is it such a bother for you to be treated nicely," came his curt, short response. The wolf seemed offended and voice was slightly pitched, as if he'd been insulted in some way. "When did it become such a crime to do something nice for another person?" He sighed softly, turning his head to look away from the rabbit who seemed to shrink more and more as Sam continued speaking. "I brought you the eggs because I felt like it, not for any other reason. You seemed like a nice person who was dealt a crummy day, so I thought you'd enjoy a bit of kindness."

Tyler peered up in awe of his final words, trembling a bit as dark laughter escaped the insulted male. "Forget about it.. enjoy your evening," was his last statement before he turned on his heel and stormed off for the front door. Paralyzed with guilt and shame, the rabbit just watched him walk away in silent agony. He didn't mean to hurt his feelings or make him feel unwelcome. Far from it! As lock was undone and knob turned, he finally broke free of his paralysis long enough to rush to the door.

"W-wait, I'm sorry!" The loud slam of the door broke the young rabbit's heart. He just stood there, palm wrapped around the knob as his body shook.

He grimaced, turning the knob and jerking the door open with a loud cry. "Wait, Sam-- please come ba--" As the door opened into the apartment, a loud shriek escaped the bunny when that very same wolf came crashing backwards on his smaller form.

"Aaaaah, w-what the hell," came the startled exclamation from wolf who fell backwards. Sam had been leaning against the door in silence, contemplating whether or not he should actually leave; whether or not he had over-reacted or not. The both of them were dazed, but the wolf quickly got up and scooped up the bunny along with him. For once, he didn't seem confident and imposing; he was concerned.

"Oh, gods I am so sorry, Tyler! Are you okay?!" He held the boy in his arms who seemed to be lifeless from sheer shock of having that much weight forced onto him all of a sudden. The boy rubbed the back of his head quietly, whining a bit when fingers rubbed against a small lump from where his head had smacked against hardwood flooring.

".. y-yeah, I'm fine.." His head was spinning, but he peered up quietly to the wolf whose face showed nothing but concern and worry. "Sorry for what I said, Sam.. I didn't mean to insult you, honest."

The wolf shook his head quietly with a weak laugh. "Oh, hush.. forget about it.. at least you're okay." He walked back into the warm apartment, kicking the door closed with a gentle nudge. Into the bedroom the wolf would carry Tyler, setting him down upon his bed with a gentle sigh. "Y'sure do know how to scare the bejesus out of me!"

The both of them laughed, though Tyler was still as quiet as ever. While the pounding in his head slowly died away, he just stared up at the caring wolf in silence. "... how old are you, Sam?" An odd question to ask at a time like this, but his curiosity got the better of him. With a smile, he replied with a soft voice;

"Twenty-two," came Sam's reply. He had been right before when he said he wasn't much older than Tyler. "And yourself?" The rabbit rubbed his cheek lightly, offering a soft little yawn as he nodded.

"Mmf.. I'll be twenty in a few days.." The two of them shared another pause of silence, just staring into each other's eyes. Finally, the canine slipped off the bed and paced a few steps away from the bed.

"Y'know, Tyler.. originally I came here because you were cute," he admitted with some shame. "I followed you because I liked the idea of you, I liked the feeling I was getting from just the short time you spent in my arms. Even if it was an accident, still.. it felt nice." The rabbit leaned up a bit, somewhat curious to hear what else he would admit. His curiosity was met with swirling golden eyes staring right back at him. "You're an attractive young rabbit, Tyler." The boy sat there in awe of what he had just heard.

Sam turned completely, palms stuffed into pockets as he eyed the boy with concern, worry and a small hint of shame. "I followed you for selfish reasons, I followed you out of desire and need, but.. just being in your company this short period of time has effected me more than I imagined it would." He closed his eyes, glancing away with a soft tsk. "You're quite a unique little bunny, y'know?" Tyler was absolutely speechless. "So much so.. that I feel the need to respect you, rather than fulfill my desires and inebriate myself on your body." Tail swayed once before he turned on his heel to leave once again. "I'll let myself out, Tyler.. I am sorry."

The blushing rabbit refused to hear of it, slamming an open palm onto the mattress and crying out. "No!"

Surprised, the wolf glanced back with a raised eyebrow-- gazing over the rabbit quietly. Tyler got to his feet and quickly made his way over to the wolf. He stared up with so much emotion and passion swirling in those violet hued eyes of his. Right hand was placed upon the wolf's chest, softly rubbing over the silk shirt he wore atop those chiseled muscles. Golden eyes never strayed away from the rabbit, watching his every move and facial expression made. Hesitant, palms slowly moved higher up the wolf's body. Milky colored hands would cup both of Sam's cheeks, thumbs gently rubbing just below his golden eyes. Pulling downward slowly,

Tyler stood on his tip-toes and pressed a soft little kiss upon black muzzle. Honestly, both Sam and Tyler were completely stunned by the rabbit's impulsive move. Black arms found their way around the creamy white rabbit, kiss returned with a little bit of pressure from the wolf. As the canine held onto Tyler, so did he wrap his arms around the lower back of the wolf. Full black tail swayed slowly behind Sam, while Tyler's leaf-shaped tail flicked with excitement behind him as well. After what seemed ages of passionate intimacy shared through a simple kiss upon the lips, Tyler reluctantly backed down. Lips still parted slightly, shimmering violet eyes slowly opened. Sam was the first one to finally speak, a satisfied smile slowly spreading across his lips. "How about.. I fix you something decent to eat.. eh, Bun-Bun?"
