Chapter 4-I know it doesn't have much of anything but give it sometime.

"It was back on the year of final exams for the academy that I was in when I ran into Admiral Cheppard and trust me it wasn't a pretty sight. I have read somewhat about your people so I am curious about something...did they ever say that the only type of person that can really command a carrier into action is actually a pilot?" Tirol asked as the ship got clearance to launch, allowing Miri to maneuver the vessel out of the hangar not wasting a second before angling it skyward.

Within a split second she shoved the throttle forward throwing the ship forward into full G's sending it rocketing toward the sky. "Something like that, something about the pilots actually understanding the ideals of commanding one in the general perspective." she answered not taking her eyes off the viewport as the ship didn't take long to get into space. "So where does that leave you? You don't seem like a pilot to me or old enough to command a carrier with the experience."

"It doesn't seem like a bad idea especially when both of our leaders need answers and no one wants to risk their necks to do the job. I am the crazy pilot that actually doesn't just follow orders but won't risk his crew in doing the impossible, that's what Cheppard sees when he looks at me. That idea about carrier tactics was set in the Admirals mind well before we were sent here all of the ship tactics that came from Earth well out of date before the space travel." he answered letting out a sigh leaning back in the seat before continuing. "With that in mind, Cheppard went about drilling out most of my other classmates pretty much leaving about six of us for the final exam. And boy, he was a hard ass in the class wanting everything done correct."

"Must've been a living hell to get through his classes." she said chuckling once more. "Although doesn't explain-"

"I was getting to that, cranky." he explained offering a smirk to himself. "So in the final exam I decided that it was best to show what his tactics were really going to cost him. With the first part of the exam being written and the other piloting shuttles because the HQ wasn't willing to send the academy anything to use. So the guy demands that I follow the tactics that he set down, with the exam him being an enemy fighter pilot trying to shoot me down.

"Anyways, I sent the training shuttle into a tight dive that ended up taking me through a canyon about 30 miles away from the actual academy." Tirol answered letting out a small chuckle.

"Did the Admiral fail you for that move?"

"No unless he meant to try and follow me down on purpose...he went in after me right into the canyon although he must've never been prepared for that action because he sure didn't show it. What he didn't realize was that I had increased speed and adjusted the thrusters enough that it helped me avoid the walls of the canyon as I flew. I lost him at one point after a few minutes of flying which allowed me to flip over the landscape and get in behind him for the initial kill." He continued as the Sanctuary pulled in away from the planet flying pass supply ships, transports, shuttles and wings of old class fighters that were put into service since they got here, in toward the shipyard that was sitting about a few light years away from the starbase.

"Boy, he must've been pissed and probably demanded a reprimand for that maneuver especially making him look like a complete idiot in front of everyone that was watching." She answered with a chuckle of her own.

"Oh yeah, however when the board review the information with comm transmissions and flight data revealed that even though Cheppard knew that he could've failed me he didn't and continued with the simulation. They agreed that he didn't call the exam a failure so I was passed with great displeasure of Cheppard that he stormed away with rage." He finished as the Yonaga, for the first time in his eyes came into sight. It was just like what the file photo had looked like, except that on either side of the ships flight pods were swept like wing formations that seemed solid. However on closer look, the outline of the wings showed that there was a break in the formation showing that either it was incomplete or a special feature had been added to the wing.

"This is Sanctuary to Yonaga flight control, enroute with CO and current CAG officer for Yonaga, requesting permission to land." Miri commed the ship as they waited about 500 feet away from the ship. It took a while to authenticate the actual assignments and all before the comm came alive in response. "Acknowledged, Captain. Permission to land granted pod 2."

"Roger, control." She answered as she maneuvered the ship up over the starboard section of the finished exterior of the flight pod. Turning the controls slightly, she lined the ship up with the pod during the entire time she was continually talked with the flight officer giving her the correct directions and corrections if needed as the ship came into line with the pod.

Below them a completed landing strip awaited them below although the sight of several workers working about operations however they were getting out of the way as the sight of the ship about to land forced them to get out of the way. Thrusting forward as the deck was cleared, Miri expertly maneuver the ship into position through the wide opening adjusting the throttle enough to slow their approach. She stopped the ship as it reach the middle of the pod before allowing the carriers' flight control to take over the correct adjustment to bring it down on to a elevator that as soon as the landing struts of the ship touched down on the elevator and the locks were in place the ship was lowered into the main part of the ship where fighters, shuttles and support craft were located in.

With a slight hiss, the doors closed over their head sealing the ship away from the vastness of space and it didn't take long before another set of doors parted allowing the first sight of the massive hangar bay appeared before them. Another sight that lay before them, as two lines on either side of the hangar had been formed up of personnel from both Human and A'Renian races mixed together wearing different uniforms, overalls, flight suits, etc. standing at attention awaiting for their arrival.

A separate flight crew stepped forward pulling the Sanctuary into the hangar away and off the elevator allowing the massive doors to close before the crews maneuver the ship to a stop in front of the assembled staff.

"Better get yourself down there, Commander. Go meet your first staff." Miri told Tirol turning away from the controls. "I will be down in a bit."
