Chapter 3

CHAPTER 3

"Going up to the new ship"

Looking down on to the actual ship from a one o'clock position facing its forward portion with a triangle view of its forward gun ports pointing direct at the camera that offered a frightening image for those that saw her.

The flight decks was present on either side of the ship sweeping forward indicating that it had fighter launcher cabalites which made him wonder how many fighters this this thing could actually carry. Up and down the body various other weapon pods were lying dormant in their holding positions along the long axis of the body. A huge pod that looked like a flying bridge with a rather large viewpoint however having the bridge stand out like that in a battle so it made Tirol wonder what this ship held in secret from view.

The rest of the ship was obscure from view so he had to guess that soon all of the secrets will be revealed soon. He was about to ask a few questions when the comm on the Admirals desk buzzed which the Admiral quickly answered it. "Yes?"

"Admiral, a Ms. Tekker is here as ordered." The assistant answered quickly without being asked again.

"Very well, send her in." she said before turning back to Tirol. "The species that helped assist us with building your new command is called the A'Renians. Here is all of the information about the species, I want you to study up on them while the final prep work on finishing the interior and gets the secondary weapon emitters."

"Why?" he asked raising an eyebrow.

"Because they are going to be making up about half of your crew. They are going to help make sure that everything is working plus helping train your new crew also." She answered as the door to the office open however Tirol wasn't paying attention. "And this is going to be your CAG on board. Lt Commander Tirol Leonidas please meet Captain Miri Tekker, one of the finest pilots in the A'Renian fighter corps."

Turning his head slightly to look toward the doors just as a tall figure stepped into the room and that one glance grabbed his attention immediately causing him to turn his head fully in the direction of the figure. Dressed in a fine looking outfit that looked like a uniform almost clinging to her form tightly showing off her fine figure, stood a Anthro Wolf or was a fox, with blue fur covering her body except for a portion of her muzzle and cheeks with some on the inside of her ears. With the ears outline with a black fur just above the outer edge of the ears.

Atop of her head, stood long red hair with silver streaks that blended into the red hair that flowed freely behind her head as she walked toward them. Strapped behind her back looked like some kind of sword that curved almost however he couldn't tell because of it being hidden behind her back but at the angle that it was positioned. On her face there was a sign of how she wasn't pleased with something and he could only wonder what is on her shoulders.

Stepping up to the desk, she saluted the Admiral before handing off a data pad to the Admiral not even looking or acknowledging Tirol. "Captain Miri Tekker reporting for duty, ma'am."

"Very good, Captain. Your clan council has informed me that you are highly respected although a bit of a rogue." Devon answered before letting out a sigh. "I get reports that you are stubborn and take on orders like your stubbornness."

"That's what I have been told, Admiral. I am not denying it either." Miri said as her mouth began working although it looked like she was grinding her teeth. The Admiral took in the information nodding at the words and after a few minutes there came a surprise as she began chuckling before she indicated Tirol once more.

"Then you two should work well together. Please take a seat, Captain." The admiral finally ordered as Miri reluctantly did so giving Tirol a once over before sitting down. "I was just explaining to your new CO that both of you will have a extreme challenge ahead of you when this ship launches. Both of you are rouges that do whatever it takes to get the job done and that's why I believe both of you will work well together."

"And what will the good Captain be in charge of? Is she going to be my XO or just the ambassador?" Tirol asked allowing his eyes to travel over the wolf's form.

"She will be your CAG officer in charge of all of your air groups that will be operating off the ship." Devon answered feeling the tension in the air between the two.

"Admiral, I thought the Council and your HQ finally agreed that a A'Renian CO was to take command of your proto-type for this launch?" Miri inquired showing a great displeasure was being revealed quickly.

"Your council and the HQ here have seriously discussed the matter greatly with all problems having been address however it was felt that it be best that a human learn to command this vessel as it will be under the Human HQ. With the ship reporting in to the A'Renian council, there have been several other A'Renians assigned to the Yonaga so if you feel that its still unjustified, please speak now."

Miri didn't speak at all when offered a chance however she wasn't happy about it. The silence allowed for the Admiral to continue. "Very well, the council wants the Yonaga to be launched in three weeks so you have that time to assemble the staff, get everything finished and operational and have your senior staff prepared for launch. You two are dismissed."

Standing up without another word, Tirol made sure that all of the files that he needed were in hand before offering a salute once more before turning to Miri. Offering a nod before leaving the office without another word, this was going to be a interesting assignment for sure.

Tirol's Former Apartment-Earth 2

As the final crates disappeared leaving him in the empty room, Tirol let out a sigh as he looked around at the abandoned apartment wondering what he had gotten into. Letting out a groan before picking up his officers cap and headed for door stepping through the doors to come face to face with Miri startling both of the officers.

"Damnit...Captain, there is one that you and I are going to need to talk about I don't like surprises." Tirol said after collecting himself enough before continuing. Miri followed a grim look on her face as she looked like she wasn't pleased about something.

"Listen I know neither one of us want to work together however we don't have a choice in this matter so we best learn to work together if we want this ship to survive where the other ships have failed." Miri answered following behind him as they stepped into the elevator. "Shuttlebay 4." Was given for destination.

"I agree however I am under the impression that you don't really care for a human especially one that has no experience in command. Plus a ship that your people help build it, it may never be easy, nevertheless as the Admiral pointed it out that this ship is suppose to do something that none of the older ships could. Personally, I rather have a escort or something rather than a capital ship like the Yonaga." Tirol told her pressing the button to halt the lift before continuing. "The fact is personally I don't like the idea of taking something out there that hasn't been tested really in combat combining both of our technologies...however the fact is we are in a situation that neither one of us want to be in but we are ordered by our governments to do such."

Miri's stare at him was continuous before letting out a sigh before hitting the button to continue. "I came by to see if you wanted a proper ride up to your new ship, Commander."

"Well it sounds like it will be a lot better than riding on a shuttle with supplies bound to the ship." He said as the doors opened revealing the shuttlebay itself stepping off to the side holding his arm through the door to keep the doors opened. "Lead the way, Captain."

For the first time since he had met her, Miri offered a small smile before continuing on through the doors leading him through the shuttle bay.

It didn't take long to locate the actual ship that she was leading him to as the ship that she planned on taking him on stood out of place among the smaller ships there. Standing on three landing struts that held up the massive slender deadly body that probably stood about 60 foot long. Painted pure black with a rough feeling skin almost as the outer hull appeared to be almost to be reptile scales. There was no sign of a entrance upon getting into the ship from where the cockpit although a single ramp sat below the ship with it touching the ground allowing anyone access to the ship.

A single logo sat atop of the hull with a certain type of writing which was in a language that he couldn't understand. Coming to a stop right next to the ship, Tirol allowed his eyes to scan the ship looking for any kind of weapon ports that might've be seen on its outer hull however nothing was revealed. The only thing that looked like its out of place, were the uncovered engine ports.

"Let me present The Sanctuary...my personal ship/fighter. Completely build by A'Renian engines with a few tweaks of my own, she may not look like it but she is quite deadly in combat." Miri explained allowing a hand to run up along the outer hull before indicating for him to continue to follow her inside.

Stepping on to the ramp, she stopped him for a second before she punched in a access code before nodding her head for him to continue up into the ship. Miri would later explain that it was a security measure to keep intruders or anyone that were being a bit nosy from going into where they weren't suppose to.

Stepping up into the main hold, Tirol was surprised by the sight that actually welcomed him once he stepped into the main hold. It split out into several different locations which was later revealed that the ship was a bit bigger than what it appeared on the outside. Setup with living quarters, a kitchen that were fully stocked, bathroom with hot running water, and from what she told him was a master bedroom that was even more spacious than the relaxation point where she held much of her other weapons and books that she had in her collection.

But she motioned forward where a good size cockpit lay with several different consoles and controls for various different systems however they weren't labeled indicating that if someone was fly this they needed to know what the controls and instrutments did before trying.

"Best take a seat, the ride will be bumpy." She informed him indicating the extra seat near the pilot seat. Dropping the bag down on to the deck securing it underneath the seat before slipping into the cushions, Tirol had to admit it was a lot nicer than the shuttles that the academy instructors had them working with.

It took her a few minutes getting the systems up and running as the massive engines hummed to life sending vibrations throughout the ship. "Got to love the hum of engines coming to life...it's a lot better than a stations power source."

"You love the freedom, huh?" she asked smirking a bit.

"Oh yeah, if I couldn't get command put me behind the controls of a fighter...although Admiral Cheppard would probably never allow that." Tirol said as he reached down picking up the folder that held all of the information about the Yonaga.

"Yeah, the Admiral told me that you and Cheppard had a past, whats the history between you two that makes him hate you as much."

"Well that's one heck of a story."

"We got time." She answered causing Tirol to flinch a bit about the actual thought.

"Well lets see..."
