This is my pride and joy. A story that I've been writing for the past 12 years. I'll be submitting chapters regularly if hopefully I get readers. I have over 1000 pages worth of story, so it's not only a passtime for me. Enjoy, and thanks for reading. Will be uploading more soon.

For the second time disaster struck. Once again their lives were threatened to be taken away. Families brutally separated by death... Friendships ended by chaos... Peace shattered by fire and destruction...
"Run..." She whispered. Finally giving up her struggle for survival, as she understood that there was no other option. She was trapped with no means of escape
"No... What are you talking about? We will find a way to get you out!" Her friend desperately cried. The bonds that were forged many years ago couldn't simply be broken by the circumstances as severe as they were.
"It's the only way. He has to survive and you are the only one who can make that happen. He's your only hope."
"No! I won't leave you here, Fibi! WE won't leave you here!" Her cries fell into deaf ears as she turned to the others that where by her side in search of support. But her friend was right. She carried her friend's newborn on her arms. Staying there would only endanger the youngling's life.
"Hasky, she's right. If you stay and help, those monsters will return eventually and kill us all. The effort will be in vain." The trapped one's mate realized.
"Xy is right, and you know it. If there is one chance for at least a couple of us to survive, then in your hand-paws lies the future of this puppy." Another individual agreed.
"No, Shamu... We promised to be together. We promised to fight together, brother! To survive together..." She objected.
"Hasky." Another one directed to her. "It is not only our friend's youngling whose life depends on you. The two unborn that you carry in your belly... our younglings... they depend on your survival." He told her. Tears flooded his eyes. Somehow he felt that it might be the last time they spoke. "Promise me, Hasky. If there is any chance for our race to survive this time, then you will do whatever it takes so our two pups and our friend's son survive."
It was the most difficult decision that she would ever have to take. She was strong and capable of helping them, but at that moment her duty was to protect the youngling that she held tight on her arms, as well as her own unborn ones. It wasn't long until those monsters were heard approaching. She had to move quickly. Each step she took away from her brother, her mate and two friends was as agonizing as having her guts being torn out from her.
"Hasky. I know what I promised." Her brother said. "Whatever happens to Canis Major today, I'll keep my promise. I will survive..." He cried as he desperately tried to open the cage where their friend was being held. "Now go..." He ordered. Hasky walked away, but she hesitated at one point. "I said GO!" Her brother barked. This was the last time she heard a word from him. The last time she would ever see her mate and friends...
The Universe is so full of life and diversity. For those who immerse themselves into its depths in search to understand the secrets within it, they might find enlightenment on the meaning of existence itself, but as vast as the universe is, many threats or even death can be lurking along the way. For that group of creatures that had been drifting upon the immensity of space for centuries, this became clear that very day.
