When an unusual phenomenon sends the Interstellar Exploration vessel DeGama hurtling toward a planet's surface, there is little separating them from the nature around them... What fate awaits them?

Yay, getting back to my sci-fi roots.

As silent as space was, it had the capacity to unleash every manner of noise known to mankind. The cockpit of the DaGama was rattling, shaking, and groaning under the shear forces. Pressurized gas leaked out of pipes and the constant pulse of the alarm resonated inside the heads of the crew. Lights flickered and flashed, instrument panels shuddered... but one thing remained steady, the planet beneath them, the planet that was growing ever larger as the ship was pulled into its gravity well.

"This shouldn't be happening... No planet that size has a gravity well out this far..." The helmsman muttered, trying desperately to right the controls, to pull them out of their descent. His hands gripped the controls so tightly that his knuckles were turning white. It was quite the contrast from the rather nice cinnamon tones of the rest of his skin. Sweat beaded across his forehead, his black hair falling messily across his face.

"That EM flash wasn't anything normal either..." The science officer said from his panel, fingers flying over the keyboard. His dishwater blond hair was spiked up a bit, steel rings hanging from his ears. He was easily the least conventionally dressed of the crew.

"What are you saying, some sort of booby trap?" The commander asked. He was the most stalwart of the three, his brown hair short, a slight strip of fuzz along the base of his jaw. His brown eyes were as rich as chocolate.

"I can't guess if it's natural or not, but it behaves like a trap... And it's nothing we've seen." The science officer replied.

"Knowing what caused this is all well and good until we crash into the surface of the planet." The helmsman muttered.

"Corso, you're not going to pull us out of this... so focus on keeping us from dying instead. Take us in for a landing. Conserve our fuel as much as possible." The commander replied. Corso shot him a look of horror before he swallowed his fear and began adjusting the controls. The shuddering began decreasing substantially as the craft stopped fighting the pull and began working with gravity. The DaGama descended rapidly toward the surface, gliding along the ozone layer before dropping through that as well. The monitors chirped as the surface of the vessel heated up rapidly. The bleak abyss of space gave way to midnight blue, indigo, royal blue and then sky blue. The stars disappeared from sight and thick, gray clouds filled the horizon.

"I'm losing power Hawk..." Corso murmured. The commander moved back to his chair.

"It doesn't have to be perfect, just keep us as intact as you can." Hawk said, strapping himself into the command chair. Corso gritted his teeth, focusing. The DeGama dropped through the cloud layer, water running off of the forward view as a vast jungle spread out before them. The trees were tall, wide and interlocked with vines. The leaves were lush, a teal sort of bluish green. Bat-birds erupted from the canopy as the exploration vessel shot by before grazing the tops of the trees. The ship began shuddering violently once more as Corso tried to slow the ship and the trees helped leech away the speed. They skimmed the tree tops like a skipped stone before they lost enough speed to drop down lower. Branches splintered and exploded against the front of the ship as it created a swatch of destruction before, all at once, they slowed abruptly. Dozens of ancient vines had snagged around the ship's bow, stretching to their maximum limit. The DaGama slowed to a stop before it suddenly sagged, coming to rest in the vines itself. The engines sputtered and powered down, leaving no sound but the creaking of wood and metal and plant matter. After a moment the DaGama's landing lights snapped on, spotlights sending down columns of white into the dark jungle, catching in the fog. It was a rather perplexing sight, looking like an armadillo made of tritanium caught in the trees. Back in the cockpit, sparks shot out and skittered across control panels... but otherwise there was silence once more. The room was dim, saved from darkness only by the emergency lighting. The commander waited several moments.

"Status report Taz." Hawk said finally.

"Just a minute sir..." The science officer said, moving to open a compartment beneath his computer panel. He flicked some switches and redirected power before his terminal flickered back to life, "Structural integrity... intact. No hull breaches. The atmospheric intakes are full of plant matter. The-" Taz hesitated before sighing, "The sensor palate is damaged. We're blind to what's out there." He said softly.

"Well... We have to know if this planet is capable of sustaining life. From the way we landed, we're in a precarious position... and if we can't figure out a way past the booby trap or off the surface, we're going to need to gather resources." The commander said softly, unstrapping himself.

"Commander, you can't go..." Corso said softly.

"I can't ask any of you to do something I'm not willing to do." Hawk replied.

"We know you're willing, but you're also the most capable to repair the ship's systems." Taz interjected, "I should be the one to go. I have the most familiarity with xenobotany and biology." He said softly. Hawk hesitated.

"You're sure?" he asked. Taz nodded gently. At the very back of his mind he held a slight tingle of excitement at being the first to set foot on the alien world. Hawk considered for a long moment before he nodded.

"Let's do it." He ordered.

The harsh buzz of the hydraulic motors echoed into the jungle, a sound more alien that even a crashing spaceship. The cargo doors lumbered open on reserve power, the interior bay flooded with red light... but it had been just enough to see. Taz ventured to the edge of the gap in the floor, making sure the line was secure to his environmental suit. He gave it a few tugs before turning to look back at the control chamber where Corso was.

"Alright, let me down easy." Taz instructed. A new whirring noise came as slack was added to the line. Taz sat down on the edge, his legs dangling out of the ship before he slipped off. Taz grunted a bit as he came to a stop. He really hated the environmental suits. They were bulky, clumsy, heavy and a most unsatisfactory shade of bronze... But it was the only thing protecting him from whatever dangers the world around harbored. Taz gazed through the lens of his suit at the jungle beyond. Just like the tree tops, the moss on the trunks was a bluish green as well.... Even the vines seemed periwinkle in color.

"Alright, I'm beginning environmental scan." Taz said, opening the control panel on the arm of his suit. While the ship's sensors were down, the suit's would b functioning fine. The readings started coming in slowly. Taz nodded to himself, "Nitrogen, Oxygen atmosphere... Seventy percent humidity... Gravity is .08 above normal... No radioactive isotopes or trace toxins detected. Not bad, though it won't help if all the plants around are toxic."

"Just be careful... I don't like the idea of dangling you on the line like bait." Corso replied. Taz smirked gently, descending toward the jungle floor... though before he reached, the line hit its end and Taz came to a stop, hanging two or three meters above the jungle floor. He looked down at the leaf covered ground, considering the height.

"Well, it seems that you won't have to leave me dangling... There isn't much I can do from here." Taz said, pulling out additional line from one of the suit's pockets. He carefully tied it around the hook mount so he could climb back up to it.

"Wait, you're going off line? Taz, I... Maybe you should come back to the ship." Corso hesitated. Taz smiled.

"I'll be fine... One small step and all that, right?" Taz said before he unhooked himself from the line. Gravity took hold and he plummeted to the ground, landing squarely on his feet. The suit had even absorbed some of the impact. Taz grinned wide in pride at such a magnificent landing, at least until the ground he was on dropped by several centimeters. He only had enough time to look surprised before it gave away completely. Taz yelped as the ground collapsed, his body bouncing between long gangly tree roots as they dipped into an underground river. The water pushed Taz along, bouncing him from side to side. Suit alarms started going off as his visor cracked and he felt water pooling into his boot. At least he hoped it was water.

Taz was washed through the long tube, seeing nothing but his own face reflected on the visor from the interior lights. He felt the rocks slamming into his suit, buffeting his body. His radio fizzled and went dead, his heads up display flashed as half of his oxygen tank was cracked. Taz was at the mercy of the water around him. The question seemed to be whether he was going to be smashed to bits before he suffocated. The only thing Taz was certain of was that he was heading downhill. Over a minute passed, but the vines clogging the tube seemed to be growing more sparse... and then Taz saw a light at the end of the tunnel.

The cracked, dented and torn bronze environmental suit shot out of the hole in the side of the cliff face like a projectile, arching out in the stream of water before plunging into the pond beneath. Taz sunk like a stone, but the pond was little deeper than he was tall. He drifted into the murky bottom and landed on his knees... but the scientist had little time to recover as water started beading on the crack of his visor. He cursed softly, wading toward the shore as fast as he could. The cracks spread a little, but the air pressure seemed enough to keep it at bay for the moment.

Like a creature from a dark lagoon, Taz waded out of the water, covered in pond mud and water plants. The suit felt so much heavier after it had taken on water. He reached the shore and collapsed, panting deeply... but not just from the exertion, the rest of his air supply was leaking fast. Taz cursed, realizing he had little alternative. He reached up and unfastened his helmet. It hissed a bit before he pulled it off, his spiked hair grazing the rim as he set it aside. The scientist took several deep breaths of air, regaining his senses and composure. The sound of the water jet echoed in the gully, but if it hadn't nearly killed him it would have been a rather relaxing sound.

Taz turned, looking back at the way he had come. The rock face was immense, leading up to the jungle several stories above. In just a few minutes he'd been washed several hours walk back, and the suit was just going to weigh him down. Taz looked down at it before he unzipped and unstrapped the ugly suit, pulling it off slowly and setting it aside. He'd worn a simple sleeveless shirt and simple pants beneath. Thankfully the suit liner for his feet could be used a little like an aquashoe for rudimentary foot protection. Taz finished stripping down, pulling the bronze rubber over his feet snuggly before he got back up to his feet and began looking around.

After a few minutes of exploration, Taz saw the way he had to go. The path of least resistance, a winding series of rocks up the side of the mountain... There were enough trees to give him something to hold onto, but he knew he had to be careful of any more sinkholes. With nothing left to do but start moving, Taz began his journey. He walked away from the pond, moving through the underbrush. The blue ferns were rather impressive and what appeared to be pine cones nearly glittered in the tree branches. He heard the buzzing of flies but none of them seemed to be bugging him. Still, he saw nothing resembling fruit.

As Taz ventured across the unrelenting landscape, he looked at all the various translucent stones, the metallic centipedes, the bird-bats hanging upside down from branches, watching him with green eyes. He looked everywhere but where he was going. Taz stepped forward and suddenly felt a faintly warm, sticky, silky sensation. He turned his head and saw a web stick to his face. He cursed and sputtered and stepped back, trying to gather the stuff from him. His fingers peeled the web from him, gathering it up in his hand as he pulled it from his body. It looked a little like gray cotton candy as he gathered it, though it was putting off a bit of heat. As Taz focused on the web, he didn't pause to consider that things often lived in them.

A small blue spider scuttled across Taz's shoulder, moving around the collar of his shirt to the back of his neck. Its many eyes glistened in the light and its mandibles separated and went together. Its abdomen pulsed. The arachnid was incensed that its web had been destroyed, but never before had it captured such large pray. The spider was rather pleased. It crept up slowly, bringing its head to the base of Taz's neck. Fangs emerged and it plunged them into his flesh. Taz cursed, swatting at the spider. He flicked it but it remained lodged for a moment before finally releasing. His fingers caught the spider again and launched it towards the bushes. The blue spider shot out a gray string of spider silk as it sailed through the air, anchoring itself to a tree branch. No longer on a wild trajectory, the bug climbed up the string and out of sight.

Taz moaned softly, feeling a heat pulsing in his neck. It stung a bit, but it didn't feel too bad. Taz tried not to think of all the toxins or infections he could be a host to, trying to stay positive. With luck he had just been bitten in revenge for destroying the web. Taz looked around for any more webs before he continued on his path. With each step, the pulsing in his neck seemed to diminish. He smiled, feeling a bit relieved. In fact, the brush with fright had given him a shot of adrenaline. It was just what he needed to get back. His heart rate was up, his muscles felt primed, he felt warm... he felt really good, great in fact. Taz grinned, picking up the pace. His only wish was that Corso could be with him. It seemed like he would have made a great exercise partner. Taz pushed the thought out of his mind and continued on his way, focusing on the task at hand.

Taz breathed in and out, focused on his steps and the distance to the ship. He was making steady progress, but there was a lot of vertical slope he had to deal with... and the sun was setting. It was hard to tell at first with all the cloud cover, but it was getting gradually darker... at least, Taz hoped it was getting darker. While the adrenaline had helped him at first, he was starting to feel worse and worse. His felt sick to his stomach, his bones ached, his head was throbbing... He was starting to suspect that whatever venom the spider had was starting to affect him, but the closer he got to the ship, the better. Taz kept going, step by step, though he started to stumble a bit. He tripped and fell onto his knees, wincing in the expectation of pain... When nothing came, he felt even worse. His legs were numb. He moved to sit down and bring his legs out in front of him. Taz rolled up his pant leg, feeling his heart sink.

The flesh beneath his pant legs was swollen and discolored, looking purplish blue... Taz reached out and touched his leg, shivering suddenly in what could only be described as a mix of agony and pleasure. Parts of his leg were firm, oddly firm... but others were soft and shrank at his touch, forming divots along his legs as if the flesh and bone was trying to separate from the rest. As disgusted as Taz was by that, he had little time to reflect on it before his entire body suddenly erupted with pain.

The scientist's screams echoed out into the jungle as he collapsed over onto his side. His heart was racing, his blood was boiling, his muscles were seizing involuntarily. His eyes clenched shut as his skull felt like it was melting. Even the flesh on his body started to pulse and shift. His swollen legs contorted and writhed until his aquashoes popped off, bouncing along the stones. The skin between the human's toes grew together, the bones in his feet becoming less descript. Even his toenails seemed to disappear, his feet becoming uniform masses of flesh.

A loud tearing sound came as his legs continued to swell, surpassing his pants' ability to contain them. The fabric slipped off of the growing legs as they continued to grow discolored. The blue seemed to becoming stronger, the purple fading away over time. The thin portions between the changing bones and flesh got thinner and thinner until it split entirely. Taz' back arched and he screamed as each leg segmented into three. Even his feet peeled into three portions each, becoming a pointed tip to the legs. His natural body hair had sloughed off, but a few thicker black hairs pushed out of the thick rubbery flesh on his legs. Still, Taz' body was far from changing.

The muffled sounds of bones changing and cartilage popping came from the human's hips as they began swelling and growing. Taz' firm rear end began to expand outward, his ass cheeks swelling. At first he just was gaining a large ass, but the entire structure was changing. The cleft was disappearing as the cheeks grew together. His ring of muscle pushed outwards so it didn't disappear within the expanding hind quarters. Even Taz's spine felt like it was on fire. He felt like it was being stretched like an accordion, only new sections filled in the gaps so it could grow even further. It felt like his spine curved at his hips rather than ending, stretching out into his huge ass, or rather the extended abdomen that was forming.

As much pain as Taz was experiencing, it was about to become much worse. He tried to gasp for breath, but nothing came. It felt like his chest was full of hot mud, but in a way it was... Whatever was changing him had reduced his lungs to an almost soup like mass as the body rapidly regenerated. Instead of two huge lung sacks, new tubes were forming, connected to one another. The tubes spread around his chest cavity, forming something far more akin to the book lungs that arachnids possessed. When Taz once again felt able to breath, he gasped in the air desperately, moaning.

While the pain was nearly blinding, Taz had to see what was going on. He tried to force his eyes open, but found what he saw to be extremely disconcerting. The world around him seemed warped, distorted like a fish eye lens... Though the searing pain on either side of his eyes reached a new level as two more eyes opened up. While all four looked human for a moment, they all became rather cloudy before darkening to a solid black. The world seemed a bit more normal to Taz with his new eyes open, but it wasn't enough. In a strange sense of euphoria, he licked his lips and tried to open more. He opened his eyes as wide as he could before two more opened next to the first, the two smaller pairs of eyes just below and off to the side of his main ones.

Taz suddenly moaned in delight at having opened all of his eyes. It felt strangely good, as if he'd accomplished something very delightful. He panted a bit before he suddenly moaned, looking down. While he had expected that the intense pain would have blinded him to positive sensation, it almost seemed to highlight it all the more. Blood had stated rushing into Taz's cock, the member swelling and growing erect. Taz had to get used to looking down though, as the landscape had changed quite a bit. While his manhood remained, his bush was gone and his sack seemed to be smaller, though in actuality his sack was merely ascending up into his growing abdomen... an abdomen getting long enough for his multiple legs to start spreading out, but he needed a lot more room still. He flexed a bit, trying to get used to the massive extension behind him, though that only triggered a whole new eave of agony.

The transforming scientists suddenly fell onto his other side, writhing and flexing in pure pain. His spine continued to extend, adding half of a new thorax section ahead of his abdomen. The six arachnid legs looked far more normal as they spread out along it, no longer so bunched up. Still, it was strange for Taz to have so much more 'back' between his abdomen and his spine. Even in all of the pain he was in, Taz thought about the stories he had read about as a child about centaurs... and he had to admit, even though the pain and changes were likely to kill him, spending a few moments as a spider taur had to be a lot better than being a centaur.

While Taz's skin had become rubbery at first, the flesh coating his legs seemed to be hardening quickly. The surface of his skin contracted and tightened, becoming hard almost like plastic. The blue pigmentation grew brighter, shining in the light. He tried to get a hold of his legs, but he was still in far too much pain. His massive abdomen had been growing for several moments and seemed to have taken on the shape of a plump almond. The skid hardened into an exoskeleton, though while most of the abdomen became dark blue, a portion turned bright violet, looking almost like a double helix rising up four rungs. While the abdomen was heavy, it also seemed to fill Taz with pride... Just as a large manhood made him feel like more of a man, his huge abdomen made him feel more virile, more powerful, more amazing. It was an addictive feeling.

Taz hissed with his breath, trying to cope with the massive pain. All over his body is skin was tightening, changing. The blue crept up his stomach, though before it hardened his abdomen muscles bulged out, more defined than they had ever been. His pectorals swelled a bit too before they became a bit hard. The blue spread up his back as well, slipping over his shoulders like a vest before it started descending down his arms... He panted softly, feeling the heat grow in his arms. His shoulders widened just a big and his biceps and triceps bulged, but the size difference was nothing. The muscles in his arms were becoming dozens of times stronger, shifting to accommodate the entire weight of his enhanced abdomen. As terrifying and exhilarating as that was, there was something far more interesting to Taz that he couldn't take his eyes off of... his shaft. The pain and pleasure all seemed to be the same when it came to his lusts. His balls had disappeared into his body, but his cock was still there, wobbling and thick, so full of blood, just whipped out into the air for all to see. It had turned blue, but rather than hardening like his body armor, it had merely grown rubbery, stretching out longer... and Taz wanted it even longer.

As his fingernails turned black and his fingers stretched a bit longer, Taz reached down. He wrapped one hand around his shaft, surprised that it covered less than half of his new length. Soon he added his second hand, giving it a firm squeeze from both before he started sliding his hands up and down, thrusting. His new spider legs tried to anchor him against the ground so he wouldn't slip. After several rough tries, he managed to succeed. Taz let out a soft moan as he started thrusting his hands faster and harder, humping against them, his hips sliding back and forth.

Even as his neck tightened and all traces of hair disappeared from his face, he was moaning louder and grunting in pleasure. His six eyes were blinking in unison and Taz felt a sensation welling up inside of him, as if he'd been holding off on the best orgasm ever, as if his humanity had been holding him back. Becoming an arachnid was hurting like hell, but it was becoming so much more, it was calling to him, begging him to give in. Taz kept moaning as he jerked off. Each tug of his cock stretched it longer... He reached eleven inches, thirteen, fifteen, sixteen, seventeen and still it kept going. It was so blue, so thick, so long. The mushroom shaped head tapered to a point a bit, then the point curved like a rubbery hook, no doubt to stimulate his partner.

The more Taz gave into his changes, the less pain he felt and the more pleasure. He had been moaning so much, but a new sensation was building in his face... It felt a little like two new cocks growing erect, but he knew it was far different. As Taz moaned, his human mouth was pushed wide as two new rubbery mandibles unfolded, squeezing between his lips, spreading them wider as they flared out. Taz suddenly let out a very inhuman noise as his mandibles flexed and wiggled, coming together before him. His black eyes suddenly looked very much more animalistic. The blue pigmentation continued spreading up across his head, his blond hair sloughing away, leaving a clear scalp in its place. Even his ears seemed to become simpler, the lobes merging with his skull, the flesh becoming smooth until only the steel rings themselves stuck out from his head.

With the last of his human flesh disappearing from sight, Taz had been transformed into a sixteen foot long spider creature... From the waist up he was vaguely humanoid, but from the waist back he was all arachnid... giant, pulsating arachnid... and still his hands worked his large shaft. Without his human genome to hold him back, his phallus started swelling once more. His hands slid up and down the shaft with far more freedom, the blood inside making it look a bit more purple. Taz let out chitterings and hissings of pleasure, but more than that, his spinnerets were starting to work.

With each thrust of his hands, Taz's abdomen pulsed and throbbed. Soon pulses of wet, warm gray spider silk were launching from his abdomen. In the midst of his pleasure, Taz tried to adjust his focus, to learn how to use his body correctly. The spider silk started evening out until it came out in a steady stream of slick gray, collecting on the ground like a spool of rope. Taz fidgeted with his muscles until he learned how to separate the silk from himself. It felt so good, Tax moaned deeply. His six spider legs stretched and flexed before he pushed himself up slowly. It was hard to balance, especially as he continued to jack himself off... but soon he was upright. He practiced raising and lowering his arachnid body, feeling the new muscles firming in his legs. He took a few scuttling steps forward, then sideways.

Contemplating his new status, Taz decided to try something more complicated out. He turned his back to the cliff side, raised his abdomen and clenched. Spider silk shot out and affixed itself to a tree. He turned and shot more, affixing the other end of the same strand to another tree. With great accuracy he began unleashed all sorts of strings of silk until he had created a rudimentary form of spider web. Taz turned around and approached it, taking his hands off his cock long enough to try the web. It seemed fairly strong. He hoisted himself up, leg by leg until he was on the web. He climbed up five feet, then ten until he was resting in the middle of the web. He turned around so his abdomen was down and he could lean his body to be parallel with it. Hugging his web, Taz reached through the gaps with his arms and stuck his cock through another.

Once more his blue fingers coiled around his aching log of a cock and he started to thrust back and forth, moaning. It was as wide as his wrist and he loved that so much. Taz started thrusting into his own hands again, the web swaying forward and back. He moaned louder and louder, starting to fantasize to himself. He imagined Corso bund up in silk to his neck, caught in his web... he'd fuck that human's mouth, then his ass, watching it swell out into a huge green abdomen... Nibbling him all over, filling the human with his venom until he was also a well endowed spider... And then they could both corner Hawk, spraying him with their pheromones until he sucked their spider shafts, drinking their potent seed, growing mandibles and becoming one of them... And that was when it hit Taz, his ultimate instinct was to spread his kind, just as the spider had done when it bit him.

Taz shuddered in great bliss, his back writhing. His spinnerets unleashed spider silk without control as his cock pulsed in his hand. He shuddered and hissed in bliss before his mandibles parted. His cock pulsed and suddenly hot, thick, slimy sperm launched out in strong arcs, splattering all over the cliff face before him. More than just spraying, it kept coming. The large blue spidertaur's body writhed as he pumped out copious amounts of his seed, dousing the rock face, showering it down like a fire hose. A rich potent musk filled the air, smelling of leaves and nature and musk, such strong musk... An addicting musk, a delicious musk. Taz caught some of the slime in his hand and brought it to his mouth, his mandibles and lips stripping it off his skin so he could suck it down. It was delicious.

Slowly Taz looked back up toward the resting place of the ship, knowing his prey was there... His delicious, fun prey. Taz kept working his cock until his cum subsided. He licked his hands and cock clean before he turned, sending out several more strings of spider silk. With them falling into place and contracting, the spider creature clambered up easily, using all eight of his limbs. He crossed some of the strings like a bridge before reaching the rock face. He climbed up vertically, making much better time than he would have on foot. His new legs found every crevice, practically sticking to the stone like a magnet.

While it was much faster, it still took him a few long moments to reach the top... but at last he made it up onto the plateau that held the jungle. He clambered up and looked around before spotting his ship. It was sending beams of light in every direction like a guiding star. Taz grinned and began rushing across the ground quickly, staying in the shadows of the trees. Every so often the ground would crumble beneath him, but he shifted his weight to his other legs and skipped right over the sink holes.

Taz slowed as he approached the ship, skirting the edges of their field of vision before he saw the line hanging from the cargo hold of the ship. No doubt Corso had gone to tell the commander what had happened to him, but he would comfort them. He was fine, better than fine. Taz advanced, reaching up to grab the hanging line. His muscles bulged and grew a bit as he hoisted himself upwards. Soon his other legs latched on and he began climbing the line into the DeGama like a manmade string of spider silk. He was barely able to make it through the cargo hatch, but he managed to pull himself up into the ship.

The spider man shuddered a bit, the air was cool and the deck plating was unnatural, but Taz knew he could adjust to any environment if it made it possible to get his prey. Taz started scuttling along the ship, his feet making several tapping sounds as he advanced. His mandibles clicked as he imagined sinking his fangs into Corso, oh how he would cry out in lust. Taz started to spray out a fine mist of spider silk, filling the hallway with webbing that contracted and tightened, trapping the humans inside. It was only a matter of time now.
