Zion - Light of the New Moon, Part 2 Chapter 4.0

Welcome back to Zion: Light of the New Moon. We've completed chapter three, which means this next chapter (4, for those who have trouble counting) is the last one before the next Milestone!

Readers may contribute fan art/stories until midnight (PST) on Sunday the 12th. The contributions should be linked in comments below. Any contribution may be dedicated to a group (to add +1 Luck or Favor). No Group may benefit from more than 5 Luck and/or 5 Favor (as in, a maximum contribution of up to 5 pts between the two pools) via this post for contributions. Contributions may also be credited to a specific character (for +1 experience).

A contributing reader may apply a bonus to their own character a maximum of two times (one picture and one written piece), but may contribute as many as they wish to others. A character may not gain more than 5 experience in this way via this post for contributions. Alternately, a contributing reader may elect to have their contribution add a +1 Willpower instead of +1 Experience. This may be quite useful for some.

The current breakdown of resources and modifiers are as follows: Bannihar has 1 Luck and 5 Favor. They are at 2 Delay and 0 Danger. The party members in the danger zone on Willpower are Elias, Raes, and Dana.

Doen has 4 Luck and 11 Favor. They are at 5 Delay and 0 Danger. Party members in the danger zone on Willpower are Taggart, Rust, Jasper, Narissa, Dillan, and Zachary. At the moment, Jasper and Zeke are in danger of dying.

Myre has 8 Luck and 6 Favor. They are at 6 Delay and 0 Danger. The only party member in the danger zone on Willpower is Josh.

Myrh has 5 Luck and 5 Favor. They are at 1 Delay and 0 Danger. Party members in the danger zone on Willpower are Artemisia, Kell, and Ryan.

Shrad has 7 Luck and 7 Favor. They are at 1 Delay and 1 Danger. The only party member in the danger zone on Willpower is Loric.

All readers may now vote for which group they think should receive a bonus Favor point. (This will be on top of any bonus the group receives as part of the pay-out on Chapter 3). You may vote for any group you like for any reason you like (even your own if you're a Contributing Reader), but only one group will receive the bonus, and you may only vote once (not once per site).

Non-Contributing readers also have the opportunity to vote on the character they think should receive a bonus experience point. Every reader may vote on any group in which they don't have a contributed character. You may vote for each group (that is, you can vote five times, once for each group!). One character per group will receive this bonus, but only if they receive at least 3 votes (this means that a lack of votes won't benefit anyone). All characters receive 5 exp regardless.

The next set of Event Arcs are now votable again to contribute to the storyline for the various five groups. You may vote for which group gets what Event Arc but, if you are a contributing reader you may NOT place a vote for a group in which you have a character; you may only vote for other groups. The options are as follows:

Conflagation Even though the party is so incredibly close to Zion it doesn't mean they're safe from the Sun Cultists. These vile servants of the profane goddess Tah'alia make use of their last opportunity and besiege the caravan in one final attempt to snuff what remains of the city's caravan. Challenge: Combat Success: ++ Favor, + Willpower, + Treasure, + Experience Failure: -- Luck, - Favor, - Willpower, + Danger, + Delay Story Seeds: ++ Sun, + Earth, ++ New Moon, - Wild Modifier: N/A (this is the combat-heavy one)

Of Times Past The specific past history of a character finally catches up to the party. Is this in the form of someone coming after them? Perhaps it's simply a secret which is divulged and may create a major hitch in the party's plans? What if the final culmination of a character's hidden schemes suddenly come to light? Hmm... this could get interesting. Challenge: Skill/Presence Success: unknown Failure: unknown Story Seeds: Party and Character based Modifier: The exact nature of this story arc will be dependent upon which character(s) get(s) selected by the group as the focus.

The Light of Day More than one character in each party has a deep dark secret they'd prefer to have kept hidden... but such things don't always happen. One or more individuals in the caravan are suddenly subjected to scrutiny... or perhaps they let something slip... or someone sees something they're not supposed to... so... what happens now? Challenge: Skill/Presence Success: unknown Failure: unknown Story Seeds: Party and Character based Modifier: The exact nature of this story arc will be dependent upon which character(s) get(s) selected by the group as the focus.

Jar of Hearts An unexpected event befalls the party and creates a distinct emotional moment within the group. Whether that emotion brings them closer together or drives them far apart... well... it's a little too early to tell, but what IS certain is that it's bound to be "interesting". :) Challenge: what is it? Success: Skill/Presence Failure: unknown Story Seeds: Party and Character based Modifier: Reader The exact nature of this story arc will be dependent upon which character(s) get(s) selected by the group as the focus.

The Path Diverges There are certain times in life when a choice must be made: take the tedious and predictable or attempt to improve your lot with the new and unexpected. This is such an opportunity for the party; either continue on the known, predetermined path, or strike off in a way that will shake things up.... hopefully for the better. Challenge: Skill/Presence Success: unknown Failure: unknown Story Seeds: + Earth, + New Moon, ++ Wild, + Serpent Modifier: The exact results of this event arc will be based on which of several roads the readers end up choosing, and the many decisions they're faced with on those roads.

FEWA One would think that being so close to Zion would provide a certain element of safety. One would normally be right, but there is something that the Periphery of Zion can't protect against: UNEXPECTED AND UNCONTROLLED TEARS IN THE FABRIC OF REALITY! That being said, the party will have to figure out how to handle a massive upwelling of elemental forces if they hope to get to Zion safely. Challenge: Any and All Success: unknown Failure: unknown Story Seeds: - Sun, ++ Earth, + New Moon, - Wild Modifier: I'll leave this one to your imagination... it can end well, or poorly... very VERY poorly.

So now's your chance to vote for what Story Arc should go to which group. If you're not a contributing reader you have even more power-- make use of it! Votes must be posted before midnight (PST) on Thursday, February 9th. You are now welcome to ask questions and/or start your contributions!
