Okay so here is chapter 2. This isn't as long as the previous chapter, but this would be more of a filler chapter. I hope you like it and please leave a review on your way out. Let me know what you like, dislike, utterly abhor. I am always looking for more inspiration for my writing, so if you have an idea please let me know. I am probably going to include a few fetishes so let me know if you have one (or more) you would like to see. Once again no-yiff yet but there will be some in the future. If you see something that could only be described as utterly WRONG. please pm me and let me know.

"I would like to formally extend an offer to you to join the Anthropomorphic Special Ops. If you accept this offer your life as you know it will be over. You will no longer have to worry about any of your troubles as long as you focus on your work and the tasks at hand. You are completely free once you become a member; so do you accept?" he asked.

It felt like a bomb had just exploded inside my chest. I was being offered everything I could possibly want on a silver platter. "Of course I accept the offer!" I nearly screamed.

"Glad to hear it, you are going to be in for some wild times and new experiences," he chuckled. To punctuate the statement he leaned forward and kissed me gently on the lips.

I jumped a bit when I felt his cold nose press against my face and gasped audibly when his tongue sensuously pressed against my lips. He used that moment to have his tongue dive in and explore my mouth as he held me there.

I started to unfreeze slowly and soon made my own clumsy attempts at moving my tongue with his. Eventually we fell into a rhythm, but I had to break it off so I could take a proper breath.

Fenrir sat back and winked at me. "Sorry about that," he said insincerely.

I had a million things going through my head, about 90% being hormones telling me to strip him down and go wild. I am happy my logical mind was still semi present because it told me that he could probably tear me in half before he was even half way in, so instead I tried to ask the millions of questions in my head. What eventually got out was, "You're gay?"

He stared at me with a bemused look and shook his head. "That's the first thing that pops into your head?" he laughed.

I almost slipped and looked at his crotch but instead settled for blushing like mad as all the explicit thoughts that had been raging around in my head for the past hour made their way to the surface. It was funny. I just met the guy and he already saved my life, handed me everything I could possibly want, and made out with me.

"Too much going on up here for me to really process," I explained as I gently tapped my forehead.

"Yeah, I'm sure that's what you're thinking with," Fenrir quipped, "but to answer your question, I'm Bisexual. Would I be correct to assume you're a gay?"

"I'm about as straight as your average rainbow and twice as shiny," I deadpanned.

"I had you pegged for the flamboyant kind from the moment I laid eyes on you," he replied, equally as sarcastic.

I stared at him, speechless as I finally got up from the ground and patted down the back of my shorts before I finally managed to speak again. "So is that it? I'm part of the A.S.O just like that?" I asked.

Fenrir stood up to and put his hand on his neck to crack it slightly. "Actually no, thanks for reminding me. I haven't done this kind of thing in a while."

"You mean make out with a 15 year old boy next to train tracks?" I asked.

He simply rolled his eyes, placed a paw on both of my shoulders, and looked me straight in the eye, "Look right into my eye and don't talk. What I'm about to do is instill an imprint onto your mind. It will act as a sort of template for the manifestation of your abilities until you have better control and experience with them," he explained. His eyes changed focus and intensity; it was like trying to stare straight into a kaleidoscope without focusing on anything particular. They shifted like molten gold and seemed to reflect everything that I was without actually doing anything, the best way to describe it is it was like looking at a mirror that reflected your very soul back at you. My 'reflection' started to change slightly like something was being added to it and being assimilated into the rest of the vaporous mass. Something inside of me clicked. Soon everything came into hyper-focus and my senses went into overdrive. Something brushed against my mind and sent every single process into chaos as they were all jumpstarted.

"I have just set free the power that has lied dormant in you since your birth. You will learn and experience things you never thought possible," Fenrir began. With each word a new sensation corresponding with it flew through my nervous system like quicksilver. "You will endure pain you never knew existed." I felt fire flow through my veins and scorch every single nerve ending in my body. "You will revel in the highest ecstasy." The burning was turned down to a comforting warmth that put the pain to rest and replaced it with a galvanizing touch that set my nerves on edge and had me shuddering as if I were on the cusp of the most powerful orgasm of my life. "You will learn all the world has to offer and more; but most importantly through it all you will never be alone." As he finished, the warmth spread through me and pulsed like a beating heart. I had never felt anything like this before. It was like being wrapped in the arms of another being, only a million times better. It wasn't sexual or anything excitable; it was comfort and companionship at its climax.

I opened my eyes, realizing I had shut them in the middle of everything, and let out a breath I didn't know I had been holding. The feeling flowed into my mind and stayed there. As it settled, I felt like I had had a series of weights lifted from me. My depression and all of those minute plagues that had tormented me just disappeared in a cloud of smoke. I almost cried tears of joy as everything was processed. I could see and feel everything around me. I fell back and laughed like a madman as I felt the stirrings of life all around me. Somewhere under the ground there were hundreds of tiny specks of light, while Fenrir stood out like a blazing torch next to me. I looked at him and saw him smiling down at me gently. Each being had its own light that radiated from its core.

"I take it you like what you're experiencing?" he laughed. I looked at him and finally managed to sober up enough to sit up straight. He continued to look at me a little before something seemed to sink in for him. "I'm sorry, but you're going to have to put up with those other people for a little longer. You need to go back and get your stuff, and then we need to meet up with the other scouts," he explained.

I looked at him a bit longer and stood up. "Okay, I can deal with that," I said, and was surprised to find I actually meant it. "I do have a question though, what is this?" I said waving my hand in front of my eyes to encompass the entire aurora borealis like experience.

He tilted his head and soon recognition filled his eyes. "You must mean the animi lucem (mental light for those of you who don't know Latin). What you are seeing is a series of lights showing sentient creatures. You are literally seeing their brain power. Every person or anthro in the A.S.O has their natural limiter loosened a bit so that they can do extraordinary things, but they usually have some kind of catalyst. The catalyst is usually something related to sensory information such as sight, smell, sound, and touch. Your body forms one naturally, and that is how you access your abilities. It seems like your catalyst is in your eyes, which just means that your abilities will tie into sight more than anything." He furrowed his brow in thought before shaking his head like he was trying to clear it of cobwebs. "It's strange. It usually takes humans a month or two to become aware. Then again they usually haven't experienced the primary surge at this point in time. Your development is going along at a rather unique rate. You took something that was just supposed to give you a small feature of power and made it completely yours." He looked at me a bit longer before he dismissed what he was thinking. "Alright, let's go," he said.

I walked up next to him and we took off, going down the same path we took to get there. I jogged along by him as we returned to school, more for comfort than anything else. The whole trip went by in a flash as I watched life with my new perspective. Birds flew by as tiny sparks in the sky above us. Rabbits and other land creatures zoomed around like shooting stars amongst the vastness of space. I laughed when I closed my eyes, which furthered the illusion that I was in space as the lights continued to swirl around me like I was in the center of a vortex and my world was plunged into darkness. I opened them again only to make sure I didn't trip over a root or something else equally embarrassing.

We arrived back at the gates of the school and began to walk so we could catch our breath. The lights around me dimmed a bit, not necessarily fading but definitely not the burning stars I was seeing before.

"You just need to get your stuff and then we will meet up with the other recruiters here in a few minutes. I need to go and fill out a report, so you'll have to watch yourself for like ten minutes."

I quirked an eyebrow at him, "I think I can manage. I was able to keep myself safe for an entire couple of years without you," I prodded.

He ruffled my hair like I was a toddler. "True enough, but I wasn't responsible for you then," he laughed.

I smirked at this and started to head for the lockers to get my stuff. Fenrir and I had been gone for about an hour so; so now there was only about twenty minutes or so left of class before dismissal. I still needed to get excused by my teacher before I could leave, so I walked into class. Once again everyone stared at me, but this time it didn't bother me. I took a second to look at everyone and I saw each individual's light flaring in its own special way; completely different yet the same in its basic movements. I didn't linger in the doorway but instead grabbed my bag and things and headed towards the teacher's desk. Almost immediately my doubts, insecurities, and depression returned; but not to the same intensity that had me about to jump in front of a train.

"Mr. Buckner, I need to leave soon," I said to the middle aged man.

He rolled his eyes and didn't even look away from his computer screen, "Yes I'm sure you're social life is very important, but you have to wait until the bell like everyone else," he mumbled, probably already having to say the same thing a couple of different times today.

"Well sir, it's not social. I am supposed to meet up with the A.S.O recruiters in a couple of minutes," I clarified.

The whole class shut up instantly, and for the fourth time today, everyone's eyes were on me. I tried to ignore their looks and succeeded for the most part; excluding some of the harder glares from people like Derek. Some of the expressions that ranged across people's faces were quite amusing to see: from incredulity and envy to flat out malice.

Mr. Buckner turned to face me with a stern expression on his face. "Lying won't get you out of here any quicker Aaron," he scolded.

I bristled indignantly. "Mr. Buckner, I have never lied to you, nor have I ever had the need to lie to you; so why should I start now"

He looked at me closely and seemed satisfied that I wasn't lying, so he sighed, "Go ahead, but I swear if it turns out you were lying you will serve detention for me the entire first semester next year."

I gave a small smile before replying, "You won't give me the work because you know I will just finish it in an hour," I joked. The thing is, Mr. Buckner didn't really like anyone, so out of all of my teachers he was the least biased. One thing we did have in common was a dry sense of humor, so I could occasionally get away with a tardy or something. We had a mutual understanding that was 'I don't fuck with him, he won't fuck me over,' and we were both good with that. He was a good man, don't get me wrong; but he had a strict 'no shit' policy that tended to have people dislike him. I had developed a small crush on him at the beginning of the year, but managed to keep that under wraps.

Everyone in the class immediately started talking; everyone trying to talk louder than the previous person. All said roughly the same thing: that I was full of it and needed to get off my little high horse.

Derek stood up and the rest of the class kind of dimmed down to see what he would say.

"That's bullshit! The A.S.O doesn't accept queers, least of all nerdy little do-gooders who spend their time drawing little fairies and spirals," he shouted. Mr. Buckner had long since given up trying to control him and resigned himself to reading a book and passing the idiot on with a D so he wouldn't be stuck with him again. I can't really say I blamed the guy.

I turned to look at him as I hiked my bag up on my shoulders. I had had enough of his pestiferous behavior and smirked as I realized I probably wouldn't be seeing the prick for a while; so I went for broke. "So are they supposed to take arrogant, ignorant, and insolent half-minded jocks that fear their own sexuality?" I asked snidely. I was kind of shocked as his dim light flared a bit and seemed to stretch toward me like a slow moving hand, right before he flung a ball of paper at me. I moved out of the path of light and the paper followed it like train on its tracks. I was curious, but decided I had wasted enough time.

Derek's face reddened dangerously and that was my cue to leave, but I couldn't resist the urge to drive one final nail into the coffin. I turned around and winked at Derek as I blew him a kiss. I was taken aback as the angry flame became an inferno from the gates of hell itself. I quickly dashed from the room and made my way toward the gates of the school where I saw two anthros already waiting with two people next to them. I stopped for a second and tried to focus on the light that wrapped around each figure. They all had flaring auras that radiated power, and the coloring was a bit different. While normal people and animals appeared to be white or a light yellow, these guys were wrapped in veils of pale blue.

One of the anthros was a male black leopard with light gray spots that were scattered across his body like someone had flicked a paintbrush on him. Most noticeable were his emerald eyes that gleamed with some emotion I couldn't quite decipher. He had more of a lithe figure with muscle that seemed more fluid than solid. He was masculine, but in more of a gymnast way. He seemed to be the shorter of the two at about 7' 5 or so.

The other Anthro was ursine which made it difficult to determine the gender, but not impossible. The fur was a russet color that swayed in the almost nonexistent breeze. His masculinity was the exact opposite of his feline companion. He was barrel-chested with huge, hulking muscle. He had mocha colored eyes that radiated a cool calm that immediately put me at ease. Taking a rough guess I would say that he is around 8' 3, or somewhere along those lines.

I looked toward the two people and thought I recognized them from some of my classes. Both of them were male and roughly the same lean build. One had curly red hair, blue eyes, and freckles splashed across his face. He wore his hair in something that slightly resembled an afro, but lacked volume. The other was an unassuming boy with brown hair that hung straight and fell over his eyes, which were a startling green color.

I began to walk toward the strange group and had to push through a small throng of people whose teachers let them out early. I finally made my way to the front of the crowd and slipped into the small space that was allotted to the four people. They all looked at me quizzically as I stood there awkwardly.

The leopard turned toward me and said, "I'm sorry, but we are busy right now and you will need to leave." It was obviously pointed to me, but the rest of the crowd seemed to catch on and slowly dispersed.

I still felt awkward as I tried to speak, "Well. . .Uh, I mean. . . Fenrir, the big white and gray wolf with the cocky attitude, told me to wait here because he needed to fill out a report. He offered me a chance to join the A.S.O," I tried to explain. I wanted to hit myself as I realized how big of an idiot I sounded.

The bear turned towards me with a small smirk on his face, "Cocky, eh? Yep, it sounds like you're talking about the right guy." He joked. He extended a paw to me, "My name is Cain, pleased to meet you." He said with a warm smile, in a voice that was deep and smooth.

I took his hand and tried not wince as his massive paw nearly crushed my hand in its grip. "My name is Aaron," I replied.

The leopard stepped up and held out his hand. "My name is Jethro, but people call me Jet. I'm sorry for trying to brush you off like that. I just don't do well in crowds," he explained a little sheepishly. His voice came from his chest in a rumbling baritone.

I just smiled and nodded. "I can understand that."

I turned to the other two, but they seemed to be in their own respective worlds and completely out of contact with reality. Excepting a few spaced out looks, they were completely unresponsive. Normally, they were shy people from what I remembered; but now they were flat out anti-social. I guess I didn't have much room to talk though.

"Yeah, they are going to be like that for a little while longer," Jet started. "Most people kind of go into a little void after the awakening and it takes them a while to completely process all the new data that their brains are sending them. Actually, I'm kind of surprised you're not like them."

Cain turned to look at me. "As am I. You are clearly awakened judging by your animi lucem, yet you haven't lost your touch with reality. That in itself is weird, those two are only processing the possibilities of what can be. You have fully awakened and are in complete possession of your abilities."

I was about to respond when someone saved me the effort.

"The kid is a little on the unusual side," Fenrir interjected as he casually strolled up.

"Thanks," I muttered, silently wanting to stab him for the whole awkward experience; yet wanting to hug him as the familiar presence once again seemed to erase the poisons that plagued my mind.

"Not what I meant kid," he said to me before turning to Jet and Cain. "He had already achieved primary surge before the awakening, which might be why he could skip R.D.S. He can already see the animi lucem due to the fact he has a visual catalyst. When I was giving him the imprint his mind latched onto it and fully awakened. I don't think something like this has happened before."

I understood most of what he said but looked to him with my one question. "What is R.D.S?" It was an open question meant for anyone who could answer it.

"R.D.S stands for Reality Detachment Syndrome. It is when the brain kind of disconnects from the rest of the body as it 'reboots' and gets accustomed to all of the data being poured into it," Cain explained. I liked him. He seemed like a pretty cool guy and was clearly one of the smarter members of the trio. "So you have a visual catalyst do you? That was my original catalyst."

"What do you mean original?" I asked, now completely intrigued.

"Well, I can't really tell you that one; it's a trade secret," he replied and winked. "Maybe if you decide to stick around I'll tell you."

"I already have. Seeing that I already am completely awakened I guess I don't have much of a choice.," I shrugged.

With Fenrir here, it seemed like everyone had arrived, and the three anthros began to pick up their stuff to get ready to move somewhere.

Jet turned towards me and asked, "You know any place that is fairly private?"

I laughed lightly at this. "With three anthros walking around the school, not likely; but there is a student assembly room in the library. It's mainly used for club presidents and the student body to organize events. I'm guessing it's empty right now considering we are doing Finals," I added helpfully.

The other two humans chose that moment to start returning to this plane of existence and slowly got to their feet.

The red head had a glazed over look, but seemed steady enough. The boy with black hair looked like he had just woken up from a nap, and likewise ready to go.

"I'll show you where it is. I go there pretty frequently since I am part of student council," the red head supplied.

Jet looked a little relieved. "Thanks Brandon. That would be a big help."

I quickly took a quick note of the name and filed it away for future reference.

Cain noticed this and decided to help me out by calling to the boy with black hair. "You ready to go Ethan?" he asked the boy; giving me another wink and snickering lightly to himself.

I nodded my thanks as Ethan gave Cain a thumbs-up, and we made our way to the library.

We walked in and the librarian quickly stood up and came right over. "Can I help you gentlemen?" he asked Fenrir, Cain, and Jet. We were completely ignored as he marveled at the three anthros. I sympathized with him.

Brandon stepped up. "We need to use the student assembly room," he said. The librarian shot him a brief look of annoyance and quickly led us through the back rooms of the athenaeum. He quickly unlocked the room and then made his way back to the receptionist desk, but not before looking at the trio again.

We entered the room and Fenrir shut the door behind us. The room was about the size of an average office. There were three white plastic tables set up and a couple of seats to each table. At the end of the room was a counter with a coffee maker and some sweets set out for those who would make use of the room. I sat down on the counter next to said sweets and watched as the other five sat around the table near the counter. I held up a small plate of Chips Ahoy cookies and placed it on the table, where Cain immediately grabbed a few before stuffing them in his maw. There was a long, awkward silence as the three anthros tried to figure out how best to start the conversation.

Fenrir cleared his throat and took a breath before beginning. "So, where to begin. . . I take it you three are familiar with the A.S.O?" he asked.

Brandon and I nodded, but Ethan shrugged. "I think I know the basic ideas behind it, but when it comes to specifics I don't really get it."

Fenrir nodded, "The A.S.O, or Anthropomorphic Special Ops is an organization where Anthros and people with special abilities work together for various purposes. We are a similar to the C.I.A or F.B.I in the fact that while we work for the government, we aren't necessarily under military influence. Unlike them though, we are based on a contracting system where people will pay us to undertake certain assignments for them. Our abilities allow us to take advantage of certain 'situations'. We aren't exactly freelance, but are about as close as you're going to get and still be on a regular payroll," he explained to Ethan, trying to answer any other questions that might be lingering around in his head.

Jet picked up from there. "You three have shown that there is something that sets you apart from most people, and that is why each of you has been offered a chance to join the A.S.O. Right now we just want to know if there are any questions you might have."

Brandon immediately put forth his question. "If anthros already have these abilities, why do you guys even need humans? There's nothing in the name that implies a dependence on humans." I thanked him silently for asking that, because I was wondering that as well.

Cain was the one to answer. "There are three main reasons, and countless minor ones, that humans are part of the A.S.O. First, it instills a form of trust between the government and the A.S.O if there are humans in it and not just anthros. Second, the pairing of human/anthro works better than an anthro/anthro pairing because, while some of them are able to work well together, it puts a strain on their mental abilities that makes them fight amongst themselves rather than work together. Finally, humans are much more capable of doing covert operations; it is kind of difficult to sneak a 9' wolf into an office building without drawing a lot of attention," he said signaling to Fenrir for the last bit.

Brandon seemed satisfied with that answer and went quiet.

"If we do join what exactly will happen? Would we need parental consent or anything?" I asked. The little scene at the train tracks had already supplied Fenrir with my answer, but I guess that was something that the others didn't know.

Jet answered, "If you join, you will go to a training zone so you can work on controlling your abilities and figure out what your catalyst is. You will also continue a basic education. You will need to learn a few languages, and undergo some physical training to get you in shape. Once you have developed your catalyst, gotten the education, and gotten in shape you will be relocated to base; and there you will reside for the most part. Most assignments will require you and your partner to go to distant places, sometimes in other countries. As far as parental consent goes, this is entirely your choice and they have no say in the matter. It was difficult to convince the government to agree with this at first, but when thought about it makes since. A person is only eligible in their adolescent years, so by the time one is legally allowed to make one's own decision, it's too late. Deciding to join is not a binding contract. You can leave at any time you wish; but you will be under surveillance, considering you will then be dangerous."

Ethan, Brandon, and I were silent as we all began to process the information and figure out what it was that we each wanted to do.

"Are there any more questions?" Fenrir asked.

Ethan nodded and then asked, "So as of right now, we three are all completely eligible?"

Fenrir nodded, "Completely." Seeing that there were no more questions, he asked, "So, what are your answers?"

Brandon reached for one of the remaining cookies and took a bite from it before replying, "I'm in."

Ethan seemed a bit more timid at giving his answer but took a breath and said, "Same here."

All eyes fell on me, and I once again wriggled under all the attention but managed to pass it off as a shrug. "Sounds fun," I said, not sounding at all confident in my answer. I had already given my answer earlier, twice; but Ethan and Brandon didn't know that.

The three anthros smiled and stood up in unison. I began to wonder if they practiced this.

Cain and Jet came up beside Ethan and Brandon and both placed paws on their shoulders.

I watched as a scene that must have been similar to the one me and Fenrir began to take place. Ethan and Brandon seemed to lose themselves in the eyes of their respective anthros. Their eyes glazed over and became glassy looking.

Fenrir walked up next to me and began to explain what I was seeing. "Cain and Jet are synching minds with Brandon and Ethan, so they can begin communication,"

Both of the boys suddenly started to seize and flail. "What the hell?" I nearly screamed.

Fenrir just held me by him as he continued to explain, "The synchronizing has been completed. Now they are sending electric impulses to help 'rewire' the brain to allow for greater access to their potential,"

Tears started to flow down Brandon's face while Ethan looked like he was experiencing the best high of his life, "This is the critical part of the awakening, this is where the brain has to figure out how to process all the new sensations it will be able to comprehend. Actually, this is the why not just anyone can join the A.S.O. The brain has to be able to adapt or it will overload and shut down," Fenrir finished explaining as Cain and Jet removed their paws from Ethan's and Brandon's shoulders. They both opened their eyes and took in a breath as they saw the world around them with new sight.

Jet looked at the three of us and smirked, "Welcome aboard."
